Very interesting museum, the details the ancient script of the Cynetes, ancient inhabitants of Southwest Iberia, believed by some to be Celts, this would be the only record of Celtic writing, and is believed to use phonecian characters. The lady at the museum was very helpful and explained many aspects. In the area that are also other interesting archaeological sites such as Mesas de Castelinho, the food is good and the people are friendly, good for a trip for lunch or week exploring the hills, or view the carpets of flowers in spring.

Excelente recepção, naravilhosa coleção. Complementei este fim de tarde de Verão, com visita a Mesas do Castelinho, na vizinha aldeia de Santa Clara a Nova. Alentejo sempre enigmático. Antecipem-se e peçam guia para a visita de campo.

Closed on Mondays. Looks like a great museum from outside. We went on a Monday and there was a sign posted saying it was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. We called the number offered on the sign and were told that the museum is closed on Monday. We also met the cleaning lady who told us that both museums in town are closed on Monday for cleaning. We'll be back another time. There is lots to see in Almodovar - check out the bridge on the East side of the city, as well as the Castilinho South West of Almodovar!

Museu com características únicas e que mostra de forma muito intuitiva a primeira escrita da península Ibérica! Vale a pena visitar!

Imperdivel. Uma importante parte da nossa história ali retratada. Bem apresentado, merece divulgação.
