From the moment we arrived all the staff at the House of Zen made us feel very welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly and would take the time to check in with us each day to make sure we were enjoying our stay, had everything we needed and help with local know how and recommendations (such as the House of Wonders - veg restaurant is Cascais, it’s amazing!). As a relative newbie to yoga, the staff were very good at balancing the different needs from advanced poses to the easy option. Its clear all the teachers are really passionate about yoga and want to share that passion. I really enjoyed trying different types of practice with different teachers, I think variety was one of the highlights for me - that and the breakfast, omg the breakfasts are good! We had reflexology and full body massage included which was a lovely treat! The location is perfect, I love Portugal but hadn’t been to this corner and it’s fabulous! Cascais seems a quite upmarket holiday town and the 30 mins walk in is an absolute pleasure (plus you feel for good doing even more exercise!). We also did a day trip to Lisbon (only half an hour away) and walking tour with @lisbonstreetarttours which I highly recommend!

I’ve been at the house of zen for only yoga classes and in the beginning I felt really welcomed. It’s such a nice place and the teachers were good. A yoga class is 15€, which i think is a lot. Once I asked to join two sessions (meditation+yoga) on one evening for the price of 15€. Sophia, the owner said it’s not possible and offers me to attend both sessions for 25€. In this moment I was really sad, had tears in my eyes. Yoga is a community, you are there for one another, sometimes you give, another time you receive. I understand that the house of zen has expanses and bills to pay. The class would have happened anyway and I explained my financial situation, from that moment on I just didn’t feel comfortable anymore. Thanks for giving me some nice yoga classes and good luck for everything. Namaste

Me and a friend stays for 5 days at the House of Zen. The team organised everything for us (transger from the airport and check in in the evening). All members of the team were very friendly, helpful and warm-hearted. We felt very comfortable in the cosy room with lots of lovely details (e.g. fresh flowers in the bathroom) and enjoyed sunny afternoons in the garden. We had great yoga lessons (also for me as a absolute beginner) and the organized surf lessons were also great with very good teachers. The atmosphere at the place is so calming and relaxing. I can warmly recommend this place to all people who wanrs to calm diwn and forget the stress from the daily routine. I will definitely come back :)

Dear Silvie, Caterina(sorry I'm not sure I've spelled your names correctly ) and Simone and everyone at House of Zen, I had such a wonderful time with all of you. Thank you very much for looking after me and I miss the very special yoga lessons and the amazing healthy breakfast I had at HOZ! Oh how much I loved this place! Warm and peaceful atmosphere, great rooms, breakfast and yoga classes (all teachers laid a lot of stress on mindfulness in their practice which I really appreciated), extremely sweet and hospitable staff. Couldn’t think of a better place to come and switch off for a few days..

Great Spot for getting away from it all fab retreat center staff were lovely. Lovely relaxing great yoga with the lovely brilliant teacher. Myself my sister love it. In fantastic location. Also food was great.. ♥️
