Depois de uma experiência menos boa grupo, resolvemos dar o benefício da dúvida e voltámos ao Mestrias. De salientar que o serviço staff se manteve irrepreensível, de uma atenção de tirar o chapéu. A comida estava divinal, desde a entrada á sobremesa. Assim vale a pena! De voltar certamente.

During my girlfriend's year studying in Lisbon, this hidden gem tucked in the hills of Ajuda became our favorite restaurant in of all of Portugal. The only thing that exceeds the deliciousness of the food - I'd recommend the octopus (polvo) starter and the duck (pato) main course - is the kindness and courteousness of the staff. Always an amazing experience!

Sitio espectacular.
Fuimos un grupo de 11 personas, reservamos por la mañana .
El personal muy amable y atento, nos sirvieron todos los platos rápido y estaba todo muy bueno.
Nos recomendaron compartir entrantes y principales y fue un acierto probarlo todo.
Bacalao, mollejas y arroz negro especialmente buenos. La tarta de dulce de leche riquísima también.
El precio fue 15€/persona (bebida, entrantes, principales, postre y café)

Que tasco impecável ! O atendimento , a qualidade e quantidade dos petiscos , tudo muito saboroso e a um preço bastante acessível. O espaço podia ser mais acolhedor mas com esta qualidade ninguém liga a isso :-) Já fui 3x e penso repetir. Convém marcar que está quase sempre cheio.

À segunda vez que visitamos este restaurante conseguimos jantar (não tínhamos feito reserva). O atendimento foi muito bom, a comida bem confeccionada. Recomendo o bacalhau à Brás... delicioso! Incluem uma selecção de vinhos fora da main stream e a bom preço. Sabem recomendar. Tem também uma esplanada exterior muito simpática.

O nome reflete a minha consideração por este restaurante ou tasca como queiram referir a este lugar. É um óptimo restaurante com mestria culinária. Uma ementa muito bem feita em torno da cozinha tradicional portuguesa, mas com muitas inovações bem conseguidas. A Ajuda tem um restaurante que muito se pode orgulhar e que recomendo.

Serve essencialmente petiscos e alguns pratos de comida tradicional com twist mais moderno. Tudo bem confeccionado.Os empregados foram bastante simpáticos e o espaço estava bem decorado ( estilo rústico / vintage) com uma pequena esplanada. Um bom achado na zona!

Very friendly staff and amazing food accompanied with well chosen wines. The atmosphere feels relaxed and authentic. An amazing experience overall. We’ll be back when in Lisbon.
Do book a table in advance though, there are few tables and most were booked when we went. Popular place among locals it seems.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after a hearty recommendation from a nearby olive oil tasting shop and I’m so glad we went. It is up the top of a big hill but the food is tasty and the staff are outstanding. They were very patient and explained every dish in English for us, and also gave us great ideas for what to have. We especially loved the pica-pau and the bochecha. The portions are very generous, and we shared everything. We probably only needed 3 starters because there was so much food. Definitely brace the hill and come here when in Belem.

Variedade nos petiscos com confecção cuidada a preço razoáveis, fazem deste espaço acolhedor e informal o local para um almoço ou jantar descontraído, sozinho ou em grupo. Para refeição principal o menu apresentado é QB, a proporcionar a partilha do prato pelo aspecto e gosto irrepreensível. Experiência a repetir.

Excelente comida, bien cocinada y de calidad. Sitio sencillo, sin pretensiones pero sorprendente. El servicio no puede ser mejor. La atención de los camareros es estupenda. Los precio más que razonable en relación a lo que te sirven. Desde luego, repetiré siempre que sea posible, cuando esté en Lisboa. Es de lo más recomendable.

Quando a pergunta é: "onde comer boa comida portuguesa?" Mestrias vai ser sempre a minha resposta. A qualidade que apresenta não faz crer a juventude desta casa. O leitão é de chorar por mais. O foie gras é inegualável. Simplesmente fantástico. As paredes transpiram sabedoria gastronómica. Parabéns!

There is a reason why this restaurant is in top 20 in TripAdvisor. All the customers are foreigners, and still the lists are only in Portuguese - it wouldn't be authentic experience if you would have a menu in your language, would it? Waiters know the list by heart in English, as they explain it to every single customer.
Food is average, and for the same or cheaper price you can get way better food in Lisbon.

Excellent ! Le meilleur restaurant que l'on ai fait a Lisbonne ! Dans une rue calme, ce restaurant vous prépare des plats typiques, de qualité, et à un prix plus que correcte !!! Des plats à partager et à dévorer ! Le personnel est très sympa et parle très bien français ! Top !

ogni piatto e' fatto con amore tradizione e tanta esperienza. quando senti il gusto delle origini vuol dire che chi cucina e' un genio... complimenti ragazzi.. siete simpatici .. competenti....non rovinatevi a causa del turismo...

Excellent food at very affordable prices (how do they do that?). Jokes aside, the experience here has been extremely authentic with lots of surprising home-style dishes that cannot be found in the usual places one goes to eat in Lisbon. It truly tastes like the stuff locals grow up and and it has been an eye opening experience tasting their dishes.
Definitely worth taking the time for a visit, despite being off the beaten path!

First off, the food is amazing. I absolutely love the fried goat cheese, duck and the pork special. Also for desert, we had mousse and this delicious fig cake. It was absolutely heaven.
The service was fantastic. The server explained the ingredients of everything on the menu for us.
For everything, it was surprisingly reasonably priced. I highly recommend coming here. I will say the place is small so you might be waiting a hour for a table, but it's well worth it.

Everyone should visit this restaurant to be as pleasantly surprised as my son and I were. The food was the best most tender, flavorful pork I can remember along with the duck cooked to perfection that my son had. The apple crisp was full of the perfect sweetness and crispy topping. I don't always get desert and very glad I did. My taste buds can rest for now but I must say I am tempted to do dinner there again tonight.

Nothing wrong except neighborhood making noise but you sit indoor ( quite dark and small as well) , then you might be bothered that much .Not salty as normal local food.

Man this restaurant is (evaluation of a very picky person when it comes to fish and seafood)
✅owners were very friendly and helpful
✅quick service compared to all the Portuguese restaurants tried so far
✅dishes of rice with octopus and rice with squid ink were very good! The octopus one was definitely a favorite (and so generous in fish)
✅a very affordable price
✅ ‘cherry on the sundae‘: the dessert was excellent and very original. (It was a suggestion of the owner): a pie made of carob flour and fig paste/jam (typical mediterranean ingredients).
Highly recommend this beautiful place.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The arroz de choco (cuttlefish rice) was simply sublime and the selection of wines was quite impressive, too. Starters are pretty big already, so keep that in mind. The outside terrace on the little square puts the cherry on top. We paid about 60 Euros for two starters, two mains, a desert and a bottle of wine - a real steal given the quality. Highly recommended.

During our visit to Europe, this was the best meal we have enjoyed! Our waiter Sebastien was so attentive and so friendly. The food...was amazing. I cannot stress enough how good this food tasted. We ordered the duck and the suckling pig and both were incredible. I highly recommend you eat here.

Excellent Modern "Tasca" just 5 minutes up the hill from Belém. Nicely decorated, with an esplanade in the Summer. Menu is traditional Portuguse cuisine with a modern twist. We have a Cod (Bacalhau à Brás) and also the steak. Both delicious. Nice wine selection and very tasty desserts. The restaurant sits in a nice quiet cosy square, away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. I do recommend eating here if you are in Belem, Jerónimos and CCB district
