War i.O. - drinnen ist es dunkel, deshalb eher nicht zu empfehlen. Der „normale“ Latte Macchiato war gut, der mit Sojamilch kaum trinkbar. Frühstück ist okay, teilweise etwas lieblos. Croissants allerdings gut.

Untypischerweise für Lissabon ist der Kaffee hier sehr gut. Das Essen ist sehr ästhetisch angerichtet und schmeckt exzellent. Die Limonaden sind auch sehr zu empfehlen. Des Weiteren herrscht hier eine angenehme Atmosphäre durch die stilvolle Einrichtung.

Kom hit klockan 14 nånting. Fick vänta kring 30 min innan vi fick beställa, det var inte särskilt mycket kunder i omlopp men det gick inte att få ögonkontakt med någon. Beställde oliver, laxsallad, Korv och dricka. Fick oliverna och drickan, väntade ytterligare 1 timme på resterande mat innan vi frågade om den. Maten var helt okej men jag fick fel sallad. Var för hungrig och less för att påpeka det. Sitter fortfarande och väntar på att få betala, bad om notan för 20-30min sen.
Inte kul då flera sällskap som kommer efter en hinner gå mätta och belåtna innan man själv fått in sin mat.

This place is great for brunch. Their coffee is great and they have a lot of German options. However we decided to eat the scrambled eggs wrap, which came with these potatoes that were delicious. Finally, we had the scrambled eggs with pesto which were wonderful.
The service was good as well.

The place looks authentic and has character: it feels both chic and relaxed, instead of being yet another instagram-y tourist/hispter trap.
Food is okay, desserts are good, the croissants are amazing. The lemonades are the weak spot (syrupy, artificial and too sweet).
I would rate it 4 stars if I didn't feel that the prices are too high given the overall quality of the food (good but not dazzling), and that the quality of the staff is getting noticeably worse…

O sítio é bonito. A comida é boa. Mas fui lá um dia movida por uma publicidade ao chocolate quente que seria dos melhores, mas não correspondeu nada às expectativas. Chocolate quente não é especialidade deste sítio.

Wir haben uns im Kaffeehaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist ein klasse Ambiente mit sehr leckeren Essen.
Der Service ist auf zack, freundlich und aufmerksam.
Die beiden jungen Chefs sind sehr sympathisch und nehmen sich auch gerne ein bisschen Zeit für ihre Gäste. (siehe Bild)
Getränke und Speisen sind ihrem Heimatland Österreich angelehnt.
Wir können dieses Kaffeehaus voll weiter empfehlen und es ist für uns ein "muß" beim nächsten mal wieder zu kommen.

Nesta cantinho pacato junto ao Chiado surge um café / restaurante austríaco onde se pode deliciar com vários pratos e sobremesas daquela zona da Europa. O preço é um pouco acima da média mas sem abusar é possível comer uma salsicha é um copo de vinho por pouco mais de 10€, no entanto podia ser mais bem servido. O sítio é bastante acolhedor e muito útil para quem gosta desta zona lisboeta. A repetir.

Un petit bout d'Allemagne et d'Autriche au cœur de Lisbonne. Excellent accueil, c'est un café qui propose le fameux café à la liqueur d'oeuf (biedermeier), d'excellents desserts comme le strudel, et aussi des toasts plus délicieux les uns que les autres. On y retourne à chaque visite dans la capitale portugaise.

Lovely food and served quickly. Unfortunately despite the menus uploaded online and the title on the website saying that vegitarians meals are served, this is apparently different at the weekend. I'm not sure if all vegitarians are banished from Portugal come Saturday morning, but this meant it was quite disappointing to arrive to the only options being egg or mushroom on toast.

Great coffee place, but also delicious for food! We went back almost every day during our stay in Lisbon. Highly recommend the Kaffee Mélange, the Vital Brunch and the cereal with fruits. But also salad and Apfelstrudel were very good.

Tolles Kaffeehaus inmitten von Lissabons Altstadt! Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend und das Personal ist schnell und freundlich. Ein absolutes Muss - nicht nur für Österreicher! ;-)
Die Speisekarte ist übrigens deutsch und von den Speisen und Getränken recht österreichisch gehalten.
Der Kaffee ist für portugiesische Verhältnisse ein wahrer Hochgenuss!

Used to like it, but last time it was a disaster.
Asked for a Cesar salad without feta cheese and the waiter said it couldn't be done as salads are not made at the moment.
In my opinion having no vegan options and also no good will to serve customers is an unacceptable combination nowadays.

Especially if you're travelling, this is a great place to have a break. Situated in a nice cosy corner away from the busy streets but only minutes walk away, from sites; this was close to where we stayed. I'd highly recommend taking a break here for a nice coffee, cool pints or a smooth g&t.

Went there for tea. The coffee, tea and cakes were good. The upside. It took a long time to get the menu, then it took a long time to get the order and finally we asked for the bill and it didn’t came. We end up to get up and pay directly at the coffee counter. It was not full of people and I saw at least 3 waiters.
If you have time to wait please pay a visit since the food was good.

The sausages were good, the sauce was excellent. There could have been more scrambled eggs as the bread-to-egg ratio was a bit off in my humble opinion. My friend had a cheese sausage that was incredibly good. The freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee was good. The staff is attentive and friendly.

Went here in the interval at Teatro São Carlos, so didn’t a lot of time. Ordered a Pharisäer coffee at the bar and the server told me to take a seat. No one started to make my coffee. After about 5 minutes the waiters and barman starting asking each other about my coffee, if it was being made. All the time they gestured to my table, indicating that I was the one waiting for the coffee. It was really weird to watch. So I got up and told them to forget it. And left. Don’t plan on going back. The place is very much up its own arse.

Extraordinarily friendly and fun hosts, staff and regulars. Moreover, they serve the best meat I know. I was extremely sad to see our local butcher close his shop, but he still delivers his products to the Kaffeehaus, so I consider returning to Lissabon only to get that amazing taste of home :)

I have been here a few times for lunch and enjoyed it every time. Indoors it looks quite cool and hip and it also has a nice outdoor seating area.
The food is in general very good, especially the schnitzels with potato salad and the excellent desserts! I am a big fan of all their Austrian berry pies and cakes! In addition, together with your sweet treat you should definitely order their very good coffee.
On weekdays they also have a daily option that’s quite affordable considering the area, so Kaffeehaus would be a good choice if you are looking for a place to have lunch in Chiado.

No es comida portuguesa pero el sitio y la atención al cliente es excelente. El plato del día que comí ( pollo con salsa y arroz) muy bueno. Relación calidad-precio: muy bien para ser la zona que es pero por lo que comes un poco caro, al menos si comparo con lo que como en España por ese precio, pero no debemos olvidar que estamos en Portugal y en zona turística.

Ein sehr schönes kleines Café direkt neben dem Nationaltheater. Die Speisekarte ist sehr deutsch und es gibt viele kleine Leckereien. Sehr freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und wir waren sogar mehrmals dort während unseres Aufenthaltes in Lissabon.
Absolut empfehlenswert um mal etwas abseits einen ruhigen Café, einen Snack zwischendurch oder ein Abendessen einzunehmen.
Die Preise sind nach dem Stand in Lissabon absolut in Ordnung.
5 Sterne, da es so einladend war, dass wir 3 mal dort waren, das ist ein Café, wo sich auch ein zweiter Besuch lohnt!

Supposedly opens at 09:30 on a Saturday but we got there at 09:45, one of the staff still sleeping in the sofa, never bothered to get up and welcome us at the door, second member comes and tells us they need 10 more minutes but doesn’t even open the door and asks us to come in and have a drink while they prepare the breakfast. A complete disgrace of service and a shame for Lisbon as a city.

We were there on a Sunday morning and staff unexcited to welcome us. Not sure whether "wiener sausage" for breakfast suits anyone but wieners. Interior is nice and they have international magazines for reading which is a plus. Still there are better places for breakfast in Lisbon.

Não há muito a dizer sobre o que comer aqui. Todo o menu é bastante saboroso e bem apresentado. Mas o rei da casa é mesmo a salsicha. Existem vários tipos de salsicha para provar, com o típico acompanhamento de batatas fritas e um molho consoante o prato. Não se esqueçam de pedir a caneca de cerveja, pois é muito boa. Para finalizar a sobremesa com frutos dos bosque é uma delícia.

From the same owner of the now closed Hansi this is one of the coolest places in Lisbon. The sausages with the chips are amazing and at really affordable prices. They have craft and german beer and their desserts are delicious (even if a little pricy). The coffe specialties are also quite good. For lunch, dinner or a snack, if you are in the area definitly try it out.

Chamada de atenção: aos fins de semana é difícil arranjar mesa devido à quantidade de jovens casais com os filhos que enche o espaço. Por isso para quem quisere experimentar é chegar às 11:00, hora de abertura.

My husband, myself and our two kids (4 & 1 1/2) really enjoyed our meals, drinks, and desserts. Service was fantastic. They have highchairs for the babes. We will be going back.

Se quiser entrar no espírito dos famosos e tradicionais Kaffes de Viena, está no sítio certo. Pode usar o espaço para almoço, lanche ou simplesmente para uma variedade imensa de cafés e chocolates. De verão aconselha-se a esplanada de onde pode vislumbrar a lateral da casa de ópera teatro de S. Carlos, de inverno o interior acolhedor e quente são uma excelente opção. Boa variedade de tapas de queijo e saladas. Boas opções de vinhos brancos e tintos, portugueses e estrangeiros. O preço é esperado para o local.

Ementa diferente. Agradável. Preços acessíveis. Brunch. Saladas. Não faltam as salsichas Bratwurst e outros tipos típicos da zona da Áustria (7,90 eurs). Os chocolates quentes são bons, o Sue's Hot Chocolate com licor de laranja e natas é excelente (4,90eurs).

Fomos ao Kaffehaus depois da óptima experiência no filho mais novo Hansi. A ementa (tal como o espaço) do Kaffehaus é muito maior, com imensos pratos para além das famosas salsichas.
Como já íamos com a ideia das salsichas de antemão, não foi desta que experimentámos os pratos (talvez para uma próxima visita). Escolhemos 3 salsichas (todas com as maravilhosas batatas wedges), acompanhadas de cerveja artesanal, e finalizámos com o Apfelstreudel. Saímos de lá muito satisfeitos, mas em termos de atendimento achámos menos simpático que no Hansi.

best coffee and desserts in lisbon especially if you like austrian/german coffee, which is full of flavor (not the burnt ashes from a certain giant coffeehouse chain). additionally, if you are the type of person who does not care for the highly sweet portuguese desserts, kaffeehaus serves the most delicious cakes that are sweet but not overly so. they are perfect!

Muito interessante, decoração impecável, ambiente a invocar os anos 50, melhor seria difícil.
É o local ideal para se levar uma pessoa espZeial, de preferência ao jantar.
Os empregados oscilam entre o totalmente indiferente ao deveras competente, não "estragam" a casa.

Fui atraído pelo conceito, pelo tipo de cozinha e por alguns excelentes comentários e avaliações que vi deste local, mas fiquei algo desiludido. Pior de tudo o atendimento, o menu é também muito limitado e os preços são algo elevados (almoço a dois fica por volta de 25/35€). Relativamente à comida, sinceramente é razoável, tem bom aspeto mas pouco sabor, mas apesar de tudo até gostei. Pontos positivos serão sem dúvida a esplanada e a boa localização.

The quality is good. . But all prices are extremely over rated almost 14 euro's for a schnitzel with some salad... Way too expensive!!!. 1.20 EUR for a coffee and 2.40 EUR for a soft drink (0.33) is double the price it should be.

Sentei-me na esplanada e fiz sinal a um funcionário. Olhou, e não disse uma palavra. Acabou por vir à mesa, pedi, nem lhe vi os dentes. Fui servido por outra funcionária, nem lhe ouvi a voz. Paguei a uma terceira, muda e calada. A tarte de framboesa era excelente, mas acho se azedou no estômago com tanta simpatia.

Truly terrible service - awful/unskilled/rude staff.
I searched around for a nice place to have lunch with my girlfriend on our last day in Lisbon. Kaffeehaus was nearby and seemed to have good reviews. When we arrived we were shown our table and all seemed like it was going to be well.
Our waiter, a brunette 20 something year old short haired guy took quite a long time to give us our menus, and then when we did order (in Portuguese, and then eventually in English he didn't seem to know any of the menu items - I think he asked us to repeat just about every piece of the order. I'm unsure if he was new, but he had no idea what he was doing. When he came over he didn't even say hi or anything for that matter, he just sort of hovered above us and stared until we started ordering. He didn't say okay or yes after we had ordered, he just sort of grabbed the menus and left.
Several times after ordering I saw the same waiter holding several plates of food just standing outside like he forgot what he was doing. When the food eventually did come it was wrong, but we had waited such a long time that I just ate it anyway. No complaints about the food, it was totally adequate, good job chefs even if it wasn't what I bought.
No one came over after that - it wasn't even busy at all - it was kind of quiet to be honest.
I had to ask for the bill twice, and even then it didn't come. I went inside and went to the bar, at which every single staff member ignored me, basically making eye contact with me and then looking down like they didn't see me.
The waiter eventually came over and I paid. When i went outside to leave he brought me a tray with money on it which totally wasn't mine because I paid with card. It belonged to the table next to us, who had also asked for the bill three times with no reply.
Honestly if you're looking for a nice place to eat brunch go to somewhere else. Maybe it would've been better if there was a different waiter.

A bit odd to find a Austrian cafe in Lisbon, but they serve all the traditional stuff. Very tasty breakfasts and lunch. The scrambled eggs are very tasty and the Berner Wurstel as well. Friendly service and nice atmosphere

Plutôt moyen.... En 2011 j'y avais mangé un croissant délicieux, presque aussi bon qu'un croissant français accompagné d'un capuccino, assez réussi lui aussi... mais cette année ma visite m'a déçue: j'ai évidemment retenté l'inoubliable croissant mais cette fois très mauvaise surprise: il n'était pas assez cuit avec un fort arrière-goût de levure, mais le pire était à venir avec la boisson... un thé à la menthe.. ou plutôt un gaspacho de menthe! Une tasse bien trop grande recouverte d'une soucoupe.. j'ai été prise d'un fou rire en soulevant la soucoupe: d'énormes feuilles et petites branches de menthe flottaient dans la tasse! Pas de filtre, rien.. pas très pratique ni propre ... La personne qui m'accompagnait a commandé une "limonade de cassis"... désignation bien prétentieuse pour un verre d'eau plate à peine teintée de quelques gouttes de sirop accompagnée d'une mini rondelle de citron.... Bref, même si l'endroit en soi reste agréable, de par sa localisation aussi et des serveurs sympathiques, je n'y retournerai pas, les goûters n'en valent pas la peine, surtout à ces prix.

Bom acima de tudo pela localização e a esplanada com sol. O ambiente interior é razoável apesar de por vezes ficar demasiado barulhento. Os preços das comidas e bebidas são elevados considerando a qualidade. O atendimento varia consoante o empregado. Alguns deles conseguem ser bastante marretas e assumir uma pose bastante snob, outros são bastante eficientes, é variável. O espaço é bom, a comida não é nada por aí além, as doses servidas considerando o valor pago, deixam um pouco a desejar. Acima de tudo é um espaço que vale pela sua excelente localização e esplanada.

Good place for a brunch in a quite small street (right next to busy Chiado). Coffee and food were good, quite nice Bratwurst and big portions. The staff is very nice and attentive. I specifically liked the outside patio area, very cosy and comfortable for enjoying late morning time (the seating is in the shade, so it is cool in the summer). Must be a good place in the evening as well.

Very good restaurant. The atmosphere is great! The staff are quite nice and respectable. The food is very good and do try the applestrudel! There are tables on the outside and don't let the cold frighten you! There are blankets at your disposal, which is great with some glasses of wine...
