Absolutely awful one of the worst Indian restaurants in Lisbon. The interior look is very cool it looks nice. But it's over priced, staff are rude and unprofessional and the food is under seasoned.

Had a reservation for 7, so we showed upp at7. The staff was sitting and eating and they asked us to wait until they were done. One of the chefs I think had a whole bottle of wine för him self it looked like. We finally got to order and they open the restaurant 20 min past7, the woman who took the order then went out and talked and had several cigaretts.. Love the smell of smoke NOT! We almost walked out but was to hungry. Good food but nothing special.

When we arrived we weren't acknowledged for atleast 3 to 4 minutes despite them clearly seeing us. I know this place has a lot of good reviews but we honestly didn't enjoy the food here.
None of the dishes came out piping hot. It was almost like they cooked the food and then left it out for a few minutes before serving it to us.

The kitchen MESSED ME UP because of their carelessness.
I have a severe nut allergy, so once I sat down, I alerted the waitress of my allergy and asked what I could safely order off the menu. She told me what had nuts and said she would check with the kitchen. I ordered and ate (the food I ate was very good to be fair) but as soon as I bit into the tamarind fig samosa, I recognized the texture of nuts and spit out the food.
I immediately asked the waitress if there were nuts in the samosa - she checked with the kitchen and said yes, cashews (nooooo). She said that she didn't realize there were going to be nuts in the samosa and that it was not listed with nuts on the menu. I took my emergency allergy medicine and told her I had to leave immediately (my nut reactions can run from facial swelling and vomiting, all the way to life-threatening anaphylactic shock - not fun in a public establishment). They let me go without me paying and apologised, but that still does not excuse all of the pain I am going to go through as this reaction runs its course.
I am writing this as a PSA to other severe allergy sufferers and a plea to the kitchen to list main ingredients on the menu or AT LEAST know and be clear about what is in their food. Fortunately, I will be more or less fine, but this kind of careless can actually KILL people. Please don't do this again!!!!!

Finally crossed this off my list, but I hope to return very soon. Probably the best Indian food I've ever had, and definitely the most unique, both being Goan cuisine and just being a fantastic restaurant with some awesome touches at an insanely low price. The chocolate mousse is to die for.

After seeing Jesus é Goês featured in Feed Phil on Netflix I had to check it out.
The food was nothing short of spectacular! It was tasty and delicious, with a gorgeous bouquet of herbs and spices.
Dessert is a must here! The samosa is scrumptious and not too sweet.
Make sure you pay attention to the artwork on the walls.

Walked half an hour to get here only to find it closed (Monday evening around 19:45, 21 January) despite the opening hours saying it opened at 19:00 and no sign on the door to explain why it was closed. Have suggested an update to the opening hours listed on Google. Very disappointed after reading great reviews and seeing Somebody Feed Phil.

Perhaps the best meal I've ever had. The menu suggests letting Jesus recommend something to you and I fully support that. Our group of 5 asked him to "feed us". We had 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, 2 sides of rice, chapatis, 4 desserts, 2 bottles of wine, and 2 sparkling waters for about 130 Euro. Everyone was amazed by the food. When you go be sure to have the holy burger and the chocolate mousse. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the food here. It's actually spicy and tastes of what I was hoping to find. I have always liked Goan food and was curious about the interpretation I'd get here. I enjoyed the result. I got to the place just as it was opening, and may have interrupted a staff meal, but I was welcomed in just as well. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and fun. I'm only visiting Lisbon, but would definitely return if I came back to visit the city

Os sabores estao todos acima do picante. Especiarias bem marcadas e bem presentes.

Fomos para o Jesus é Goes com uma certa espectativa elevada, vamos aos votos: Pratos são extremamente condimentados e as porções são normais.
Acho que o valor pago pelos pratos que estão em média de 14 euros, são caros pelo que é servido.
O atendimento foi bom!!!!!
Sentamos em duas pessoas onde dividimos uma entrada e pedimos mais um prato para cada com uma bebida para cada, a conta ficou em 45 euros.
Não recomendo!!!

I was looking forward to this but was closed at 2pm on Monday 22nd despite fitting into their opening times. I'd recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Thanks my friend Amruta for teaching me about the Portuguese colonies in Indian that brought up this amazing fusion food culture called Goa. Wonderful appetizer savory cakes one with shrimps one with meat, then rice with chicken, and rice with calamari, great too. Loved it

I had such high expectations but unfortunately they weren’t met. We had the dal and chestnut curry (both vegetarian) and they were okay but definitely overpriced. The chapati was really sad (at 2.70 a piece!). Sorry.

The hostess a middle aged lady made us feel very unwanted and was rude with a horrible personality ... needless to say we will never be recommending this place to friends or going back again ... the food was genuine and tasted absolutely super .... we tasted 3 of their main dishes .. one better than the other!! The desert bevinca was phenomenal ...
we since found 4 other Goan restaurants in a 10 k radius that are equally good...

When the food is that good it would be easy to forget about the service not at Jesus é Goês. The service was attentive, personable and fun. They were passionate about the food and Jesus (the one in the kitchen). In a city all about its food it is difficult to stand out but for me this was the most memorable meal of Lisbon and I had a fair few great ones. Hats off to Jesus who gave me the best samosa and burger I've ever had and a massive thank you to the staff who gave me one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Like Jesus I will return.

I cannot stress enough how good this place is. I've had an Indian meal about once a month for the last twenty years, in london, across the UK, in India itself, at fancy places and roadside shacks, and this is seriously up there as one of the best menus I've ever had the pleasure of eating. It's been a couple of months now since we went, so I can't remember the names of their dishes, but order what you fancy. The expensive starter was worth it.

I had a really lovely meal here last night. The service was stellar! My server was really kind and professional. He explained the whole menu and made some great recommendations. I had a glass of the house white wine, which was perfect with the spicy food. I had the holy burger (don't miss this) and the potato bhaji to start. Both delicious and flavorful. For my entree I had the stewed chicken (cannot remember the name). It was really tender, and the sauce was rich and a bit spicy, just right. I cannot wait to go back on my next visit to Lisbon.

Amazing food and quaint ambiance, sits about 20 in the restaurant. staff was friendly and welcoming. Allowed us to make a reservation for 2 with in 30 minutes at 9 pm. We had the shrimp samosas, potatoes and bread, all were well seasoned and tasty. We also tried the fish curry and chicken and both the meat just melted in your mouth.

A colleague recommended this restaurant and sadly, my experience was not what his was. I found the food to be overpriced and in small quantities. The fish curry was flavorless. The prawn Marsala had four single prawns that were pitifully small in a sea of spicy sauce. The prawns were split down the back, however, the shells were difficult to remove and a knife would have been welcome in the battle between diner and beast. The rice was plain, white rice with no seasoning. The service was the worst - the waitress ignored us for 45 minutes before finally taking our order (the restaurant is very small - there are only 5 or 6 tables) so it’s unlikely she simply didn’t notice us. After delivery of food, not once did the waitress check on if we needed anything. We needed another napkin, fork and more tap water but she did not acknowledge our attempts to get her attention. She spent much of her time flipping her beautiful hair and talking to another waitress. Note : take cash! When we tried to pay with credit card she said it was not accepted and we came up with barely enough 47 euros to cover the meal. There are a lot of delicious, friendly service restaurants in Lisbon. This is no longer one of them.

Best Goan food that I have tried so far in Lisbon. Jesus é Goes is a good representation of Goan cuisine. We tried the fish and shrimp curries which were as good as you can get back home. Recommend this place to anyone seeking authentic Goan cuisine.

Delicious! We came here inspired from watching the Somebody feed Phil episode, and everything we salivated over while watching exceeded expectations! The holy burger was beyond what we imagined.
We also ordered the chickpea fritter (can’t remember the actual name of these), a shrimp samosa, fish curry and chapati bread. Everything full of flavour.
For desert we had the date samosa with cardamon ice cream and that was delicious too! We haven’t had a desert quite like it.
Will be back to try more things on the menu and I can’t wait.

Süßes kleines Restaurant leicht abseits vom Touristentrubel.
Es gibt ausgefallene Gerichte (wie z B den holy burger - Probieren!), traditionelle und aufgemotzte traditionelle Gerichte.
Wir hatten Glück trotz der wenigen Sitzplätze noch einen Tisch zu bekommen.
Die Kellnerin war super nett und hilfsbereit und Jesus ist ne coole Socke

This was by far the best meal we’ve had durning our travels through Spain and Portugal. The wine, starters (holy burger and samosa) were incredible. We love Indian food and this Indian/Portuguese fusion is so creative. Save room for dessert! Thank you Jesus for a wonderful experience.

Saw this on Somebody Feed Phil, and was thoroughly delighted at each step of the meal. Fun and delicious fusion dishes, good vibes, and definitely homey. There was a brief power outage while here, but was fixed in a moment.

Great atmosphere great service but okay food at best. Also overpriced. We got shrimp samosas and it came burnt outside and cold inside. They remade it for us though. Rest of the items we ordered weren’t good which includes short rib dish that tasted like HP sauce.

Kleines Restaurant mit indischer Küche. Optisch schön, gegessen haben wir leider nichts. Obwohl wir sehr früh dort waren und der Laden leer war, hat man uns wieder weggeschickt. Die Bedienungen saß gerade am Essen (?) Also unbedingt reservieren, sonst keine Chance.

Wir wurden sehr nett begrüßt und waren mittags die einzigen im Lokal (insgesamt 16 Plätze?!), das änderte sich nach einer Stunde. Zunächst gab es Samosas und den Mini Burger, sehr lecker und wahnsinnig gut gewürzt. Als zweiten Gang gab es die Ribs und die Pilze mit Maronen. Wir sind scharfes Essen nicht gewohnt; es war recht pikant aber nicht übertrieben scharf und wir haben es gut vertragen. Die Portionen waren reichhaltig und haben uns über den Tag gut gesättigt. Auch der Inhaber war kurz da und grüßte uns. Unterm Strich eine gute Erfahrung und geschmacklich richtig richtig gut!! Service war sehr freundlich und flink, wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Saw this restaurant in an episode of the Netflix show "Somebody Feed Phil". It is a lovely cozy place with excellent service and of course, great food. We called to reserve a table as seating is limited. In fact, to make the most of the space they have they put a table in front of the entrance. So when you make a reservation you will be in a time slot of 2-hour span, e.g. 20:00-22:00. This way all guests enter and leave at the same time and they can close the door to seat the last table in front of it.
All the food we tried was really really good, perhaps too spicy for some but I liked it. In particular the mini burger starter is awesome, so much flavour in just one bite. If I'll go back to Lisbon, this is the first restaurant I would go to.

Came there after watching 'Somebody feed Phil' on Netlix. Really worthy giving it a go with their food. We have got proper, tasty Indian curry chicken and some vegan stuff which was a bit too spicy, but the dessert made up for it. Ahh and try Meat samosas, very good ones!

We got there around 11:30am and on the door, it said they open at 12. So we went to a nearby cafe and had coffee. Went back 12:10 and the woman workingn there said “go back in half an hour.” 30mins later, we were there and she said “we’re open but sorry we’re full...because you didn’t tell me if you were gonna come.” Then she noticed a woman behind me and she told her, “You were here earlier right? Sorry we’re full. You didn’t tell me you were coming.” Crazy! We were so hungry and angry!

We watched Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix and decided to give a try. Went there on Tuesday but sadly it was closed (due to Holiday), went there on Wednesday but fully booked (due to Valentine‘s Day ), we gave the last try on Chinese New Year’s Eve and finally we not only got a table but also received amazing food and extraordinary service.

Overpriced restaurant with average to bad service and good tasting food, limited and weak wine list. Went there for valentines, asked for simple chapati bread as starter and it took 40m, after asking for it again took another 10m and whilst eating it they’ve wanted to start to serve the main plate. Although the staff told me it wasn’t spicy, the chicken ended up being hell spicy. Food comes in mediocre quantities for the cost although tasty. Very limited variety on the menu, both for food and for wine. Would not recommend.

Got the recommendation from a slightly wanky guidebook. Place looks lovely and the atmosphere and service are good. But it was locked when we arrived which is mighty odd, as there were people there before and after us. And the food... Okay. I was existing more from descriptions in aforementioned guide and from the prices. Sauce was somewhat too hot to make out flavours and chicken curry that I had contained sharp bone fragments, which I've never had at a curry restaurant. Nothing against cooking with bones for flavour, but you do need to remove the sharp little ones at least after cooking; otherwise it's unpleasant. Rice was very dull.

Hole in the wall location. Decent on the inside. Food was extremely flavorful though extremely spicy!! Fritter appetizers (bojia), pickled mangos. Main course: shrimp Masala came with thick tamarind-based gravy and whole shrimps. Chicken came with bones and nice coriander flavored curry. Plenty of rice. Definitely visit for the food and flavors. Service was iffy -- Jesus himself was gruff, almost like he did not want us there, and did not spend any time chatting with us. The woman server was much friendlier. Beware, they take cash only, so I had to walk out to an ATM to pay.

OH. MY. GOD. Phenomenal, most flavorful food I have had in Lisbon. Expect to pay 30-40 euros for two and that's living large. Definitely would go back if I weren't leaving tonight.

Jesus e Goes was by far my favorite restaurant in Lisbon! I had to go twice while I was there! The food is out of this world & extremely personal to the owner who is wonderful & larger than life in both his character & signature dishes. He also catered to my Celiac disease and personally came to the table to tell me what was safe to eat or not for my diet restrictions. This place is phenomenal and be sure to make a reservation as they fill up quick!

Ignore the small handful of negative comments by people who are used to cheap Indian food. This is Goan cuisine at its finest. My wife and I had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed both the food (which was superb) and the service (which was fantastic). The curries were great, as were the desserts. Jesus came out and greeted all the customers and explained his dishes to us. We were treated (on the house) with Jesus' recently made Chocolate Mousse and Jameson Irish Whiskey jelly dessert and a glass of his coveted Trincadeira wine. Thanks for a great night.

Bad bad bad, I was wrongly induced to go by the good reviews, it's a lie !!!
Food is frozen and really not fresh, workers care more about their phones than their clients and they are rude (the girl with glasses was better than the other one). Expensive for the bad quality of the food.
It's too small with open kitchen and it's smells bad.
Go to the bathroom and look at the kitchen! You will want to leave right away ! Don't book thinking this reviews are real, have a look first and you will see if you want to stay. I FEEL I WAS ROBBED AND MISTREATED !

Absolutely amazing! Jesus is a great host/chef who serves delicious Goan-Indian food. He delighted us with a complimentary serving of freshly made shrimp pakoras, which were accompanied by two fresh and fragrant sauces. Wonderful seafood and meat curry type dishes. Nice heat but not overwhelming, amazing flavor, everything fresh. Excellent wine for a good price.
Overall an excellent meal. Great service from Jesus and his staff which made me feel like I was eating at a friend's house. I would recommend this to anyone living or visiting Lisbon. I am already planning my next trip to Lisbon and won't miss this place.

Extremely expensive for what it is. I'm a fan of Indian food and this was not good at all. Don't mind paying for good food even if it's a bit expensive but this, this is not worth the price, 2.50€ for a lame chapati? rip off!

A little jewel of a restaurant full of spices! Jesus is a great character who has a love of food you can taste. The masala shrimp is bursting with flavor! Also the chapatis and hand-made achars (pickled) are tangy and delicious. Ensure to go at the peak meal hours to feel the vibe and try to book a table ahead of time as it can get very busy. Thanks Jesus!

The food was inventive and delicious, if slightly over priced. The gin cocktail was also good but again over priced. And the service and setting were good as well. However, I would not recommend this restaurant because of the dishonest owner. He offered us extra items explicitly as gifts or samples, then doubled our bill by charging for them when we paid. We are used to the Portuguese 'offerte' which seems free but costs money, but this was different. Great food, just be aware.

Truly spectacular simple fresh Goan food.
All the breads are freshly made. The sauces bursting with flavor. Try the mini-burgers. The name doesn't do them justice. The gin cocktails are something special at least a great for the eyes but super pricy at 10 a pop.
