Nice food. Ordered their grilled octopus and the white wine the staff recommended. It was great! Staff was friendly and would inform us that the recommended octopus salad he brought to our table is not complimentary so we can decide if we want it. My friend ordered the salmon and she loved it too! Nice ....

Food wasn't good and the waiter tried to cheat us! - two of us each ordered a meia do leite, a pastel de nata, and a croissant for breakfast; the croissants were very chewy, heavy, and tasteless (probably processed) and the pasteles de natas tasted odd (and for some reason we were brought 3 instead of 2), coffee wasn't good either. When we asked for the check, the waiter dropped it on the table and told me "in the city we call those pastries 'capuchinos'" I looked down at the check and instead of being charged for 3 pasteles (one of which we didn't ask for, btw) we were charged for 3 capuchinos which were a much higher in price than the pastries were supposed to be! I had to grab the menu and show the crooked waiter what the right price was and he fixed the check after objecting, and then gave us an attitude after getting caught. Will not be returning here and recommend you don't try it either!

Приємна невимушена атмосфера, чарівні дорослі дядечки обслуговують, нібито прийшов у гості до дідуся, смачна риба та суп з морепродуктів, аперитиви стали у нагоді, поки чекали на основне блюдо! Літній майданчик - просто супер! Рекомендую!

Je déconseille ! Sardines grillées trop salées, les frites baignent dans l'huile, le pain est rassis( surtout qu'il est payant), on voulait une grande bouteille d'eau. que des petites ! Passez votre chemin !

Un de mes restaurants preferes sur Lisbonne en particulier la baccalau a braz, la daurade grillée et leur salade de poulpe. Le service est impeccable et les prix très corrects. J'y vient régulièrement depuis plusieurs années et je 'e suis jamais déçue

I really don't understand the bad reviews here. We took in a meal on the patio across from the restaurant; a lovely setting on a busy street in Lisbon.
The server staff was very nice. They readily substituted cooked potatoes instead of fries and were very courteous.
The food was simple but delicious. We had a grilled chicken breast and a mixed grilled skewer that were perfectly seasoned and succulent. Prices were not cheap but also not very expensive; less then €50 for both of us including wine, bread, and our meals.

Nous voulions manger des sardines, ils ont gâché notre plaisir. Elles étaient sèches (décongelées ?) . Les légumes n'étaient pas assaisonnés. La bière était extrêmement chère. Le pain coûte un supplément. Le serveur était mauvais, il n'était pas attentif aux clients. Quand nous avons demandé l'addition ils nous ont oublié. Passez votre chemin. Apparemment à 50m il y a un restaurant plus sympa. Il y avait la queue. Parfois on est stupide quand on a faim et quand on ne veut pas attendre.

Plusieurs points négatifs :
-Chaîne du froid non respecté : pose les starters et reutilise ceux ayant été au soleil et non mangé.
-Service laisse à désirer : nous prends le sel alors que repas en cours sans nous demander. Le serveur ne vient pas malgré nos demandes.
-Mauvais conseil : le serveur nous dit qu'il va choisir un vin en accord avec les plats, et ne sait pas nous en parler ensuite. Il ne nous décrit pas non plus les ingrédients lors de la lecture du menu.
-Le rapport qualité prix : 6euros pour une tomate coupée en morceaux pas mûre
Point positif ;
-espadon était bon ainsi que le fromage ne respectant pas la chaîne du froid....

It smells fried oil inside the restaurant. Portions are not so big as you would expect. It was overpriced. I wouldn't definately repeat the visit.

Google should change the valoration rate here (it’s a completely 0/5 rate). Quite expensive(for being Lisbon), terribly slow, could’ve been 40 minutes to receive our meals. Please, look to another spot for eating. After that awful experience, we went to have dinner in Restaurante Santo André, pretty closed from this tourist fraud. It was widely better.
Summarizing, earn your money and go to a different place, cause Lisbon is full of good ones.

Visited here on a short break to lisbon, staying it alfama. Food was nice and plentiful, I had the mixed meat on a spit, my wife had the grilled chicken. Came with a lot of salad and plenty of chips. Also hd a few of the starters which they will bring and you can choose to have or not.
With half bottle of rose and a large beer (probs a litre) came to €50. Service was pleasant, if a little relaxed, but a nice enough place to go.

Pas beaucoup mieux qu'un restaurant d'entreprise
Passez votre chemin ou sinon juste un plat et un café
Les desserts ne font pas rêver, sûrement du surgelé
Il y a sûrement mieux et typique que ce restaurant nous nous y sommes arrêtés parce qu'il se faisait tard...on aurait dû chercher un peu plus

A comida é caseira tem uma cataplana de marisco muito bom vinho verde e ótimo, um atentado excelente, condição ótima, tem ótimo espaço para festas de aniversário para um jantar de amigos com a família vale a pena ir visitar este restaurante em alfama Frei Papinhas. Obrigada

Food was blah, service was barely sufficient. The server told me not to order the sopa alentejana saying it wasn't a.good day to make it, and strongly suggested the vegetable soup. I ordered the shellfish soup which had 2 small shrimps and one unidentifiable piece of seafood, and lots of torn bits of bread. The server said they didn't have the wine I wanted from the menu so I ordered a different variety; he opened the bottle and took away the cork. There was no bread or water offered or given. Instead they gave us a plate of octopus salad for us to eat and pay for or not eat. We didn't eat it, and saw it offered to other tables. Who knows who coughed or sneezed on it. My husband's monk fish rice had no enjoyable flavor and was fairly tasteless. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I gave it 2 stars because it appeared clean and reasonably priced.

La comida está bien, el pan notablemente bien. Los camareros son amables pero muy, muy lentos, motivo por el que no tienen cinco estrellas. Es para ir sin ninguna prisa y si vas de vacaciones, te desesperas.
Ahora bien, el local es considerablemente caro para Lisboa, y la cantidad (o calidad) de la comida no justifica 5-7 euros de sobreprecio, lo que le quitaría otra estrella.
Una pena, porque tiene potencial para más nota.
Volver,volvería.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. As a Frequent visitor of Lisbon, and native speaker I asked for what I believed to be short ribs. The waiter accepted my order of short ribs, to my surprise I received grilled entrecôte. Not to be a hassle I proceeded to eat it anyway. The steak was unbelievably raw and was mostly fat and inedible. When I asked the waiter, if he had understood me to say entrecosto (ribs) he began to argue with me and replied “no, how would you order something that’s not on the menu.” Now while I understand that I misinterpreted the menu, as a paying customer I shouldn’t be argued with by the staff for a simple mistake, a mistake that I dealt with and was going to eat what I was served. There’s a ton of other amazing restaurants in Lisbon, so if I were you I WOULD STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Sitio algo caro para la calidad de la comida.
Pedimos un arroz con camarones y sabia demasiado a cilantro, ahi se quedo todo.
Luego pedimos sardinas y nos clavaron 10 euros por 4 sardinas.
No lo aconsejaria .

Excelente cardápio de peixes e outros pratos da culinária portuguesa, com extensa carta de vinhos; wi fi do local não estava a funcionar muito bem ; não há cardápio de sobremesas que necessitam ser escolhidas visualmente em uma prateleira refrigerada.

Malo. Muy caro para la calidad y precios de Lisboa. Nada de lo que depimos estaba bueno. Solo la cerveza y el café estaban bien, y la cerveza era cara. El pollo que pedimos sabía a pescado. No lo recomiendo.

Mal, asumiendo el riesgo de que se trataba del típico sitio turístico y dado que era tarde nos decidimos a entrar. Carne normal tirando a mal y bacalao seco. Ya cuando nada más sentarnos nos planto el queso (aceptable, fue lo único que comimos de entrante), el jamón, el pulpo (de un color sospechoso), las aceitunas (que ya hablaban varios idiomas de la cantidad de mesas que habían conocido) y la mantequilla, advirtiendonos que sólo nos cobraría lo consumido, nuestras sospechas se iban confirmando: desastre. El precio para no desentonar con el resto, exagerado.

Atendimento muito simpático. A refeição era boa, sem encantar. Grelhados na hora, nomeadamente a famosa sardinha. O local é belíssimo. Senti-me a jantar dentro de um cenário de um filme. Aconselho a experiência. Como não experimentei outros restaurantes da zona, não posso comparar.

Absolutely unorganised and chaotic... after over an hour still no sign of the food. ... update: after 1:30 hours of waiting we finally got served. Very little food and nothing even remotely special. Their excuse was that it was "a special night", which is true... that said, none of the tables around us were served quickly or before complaining.

Pls do don’t go to this restaurant ! Por favor nunca se vem para este restaurante! 請不要去這家餐廳用餐！How could it possible! So rude!!! Can I give a 0 star??! We passed by this restaurant and we were not sure if it’s open but the door is open. so we entered for checking if there was one portuguese dish that we wanted to eat so that we could come back when it was open. But there was a old man inside of the restaurant, speaking loudly to us “ It’s close, you can’t stay here.” I replied “ Sorry but we just want to ask..” But he didn’t let me finish my frase. He screamed” You have to go out now, U can’t stay here, just go out”. OMg. I was totally shocked. Cuz Portuguese people are always so nice and so friendly. How could he be so rude. I think that we are Asian and we just met a super racist guy is the only way to explain. Pls do not go to that restaurant!!!

It’s really a great place. An old style restaurant. Excelent food and staff. There are a plenty of bad avaliations here. And, sincerelly, i don’t understant why. We ate a great octopus, codfish, two glasses of good wine, water and some appetizers. The bill? Less than 50 euros.
É realmente um ótimo lugar. Um restaurante de estilo antigo. Excelente comida e equipe. Há uma abundância de más avaliações aqui. E, sinceramente, eu não entendo por quê. Comemos um ótimo polvo, bacalhau, dois copos de bom vinho, água e alguns aperitivos. A conta? Menos de 50 euros

I wish I could put 0 star on this one. This is a real tourist trap, I would not recommend at all. They bring you appetizers on the table that you only pay if you eat them. But of course you end up eating them since they are in front of you and you are hungry. No wine by the glass either but only bottles...everything is made to make you pay double what you were expecting. The food is really average too. I would not recommend at all.

Local acogedor y comida muy muy rica. El bacalao a bras de los mejores que he probado. Te ofrecen aperitivos pero te explican que en el caso de consumirlos se pagan y tú ya decides. Variedad de vinos en tamaño 37,5.

Muy bueno. Al principio sacan platos que te dicen claramente que cobran, así que puedes decidir si los coges o no. El bacalao buenísimo. Recomiendo bacalao lagareiro.

Did not like it, food was average and oily. If you absolutely need to eat here its not horrible, but this is Lisbon, just a few minutes away you will find better.
Also they put appetisers on the table, you pay if you eat and the food tales forever to get to the table. Aaaalso also one of the people in our group wanted a glass of wine and we got a full bottle. Which we drank and liked, but not cool.
Go eat somewhere else unless no other option.

Difficult to explain what was not good with the food. I think the cook has been in the business too long. Not much flavor, too much fat-taste, no vegetables served, no love, rice cooked with salt.......

Cada vez que vengo a Lisboa vengo a este rincón entre el Castillo y la Alfama. El bacalao bra es excelente (es como nuestro bacalao dorado) y el cerdo a la portuguesa muy sabroso. En mi última visita me sorprendió la rapidez del servicio (lo recordaba más lento, más al estilo portugués). Los precios normales para la zona en la que está y estables desde hace años (hay que tener en cuenta que Lisboa cada vez está más saturada de turistas y los precios van al alza). En definitiva una apuesta segura para comer o cenar bien.

I do not like to judge, just to share my personal experience. It's true that there was a celebration of some sort of people related to the restaurant on that day (17-07-2017), but that should never be an excuse for a restaurant manager. They did not offer a friendly service, at all. More of the opposite. The food took way too long (35-40 min) to reach us. I ordered rice with shrimps. The dish itself was good!! If it was not for a detail. Coriander. Damn it. It was all over the plate, and just anihilated any flavour. It's difficult to prepare and combine, it should be taken with caution and not used as a substitute to parsley... The price was a little overrated, but the major no goes to the service. Disrispect to the client and to the food makes the worst combination. Not coming back any time soon.

お祭りの翌日だったので会いている店が少なく見かけが綺麗なので入ったが決まったメニューしかなく値段の割に美味しくなかった。またパンなどのチャージが高く明細を見てびっくりした。お店の雰囲気はよかったので残念でした。

wir haben leider die Bewertungen zu spät gelesen. Ein Stern ist zu viel für die Qualität der servierten gegrillten Tintenfische. Vermutlich tiefgefroren auf den Grill, warten bis die Spitzen leicht schwarz sind und dann auf den Teller. Ergebnis: harte, kalte, vebrannte Fischreste. Dazu kommt die ungefragte Anbiederung eines Vorspeisenangebotes, das ungebeten sofort nach dem Platz nehmen auf den Tisch gestellt wird. Extrem überteuert und nach der Ablehnung wird der gleiche Teller mit offenem Octopussalat dem nächsten Gast wieder auf den Tisch gestellt. Husten, und Niesen aus hygienischen Gründen und Nächstenliebe deshalb vermeiden!
Das ebenfalls von uns bestellte Omelette war ok und frisch bereitet, so rechtfertigt sich der eine Stern doch noch.
Leichter Übervorteilungsversuch noch bei der Größe des bestellten Bieres, der von uns jedoch hingenommen wurde. Mit irgendwas muß man den Frust ja runterspülen.

Worst restaurant in the whole Portugal. They tried to cheat on the bill because we were a little bit drunk. Initially we've received a bill for 97 euro after quick discussion (we thought it was a joke), another bill was brought to us - 67 euro this time. That was still over what we've ordered. At the end 50 euro was on the bill and a glass of Porto wine to say sorry... On the top of that appetisers were charged 15 euro without asking, however we didn't argue about that...
Beside that the food was also one of the worst that I tried in the whole Portugal!

The food was really average, didn't even look good. We were first served with not our bill that was 2 as high as our supposed to be (and there were only 5 tables occupied so it wasn't a busy night), then with again not our bill - 3 tines as much bread and some extra items that added 20% to our bill, then after 2nd round of complaints with the errors in the bill we were served with our bill that had errors now for 5 euro. Ridiculous! In the end we've paid 5 euro higher bill as we didn't want to waste more time. FYI we've ordered 3 dishes and 3 tapas + bottle of wine, pretty simple order.....

Very bad tourist trap....I went there with my friend and she took a dish of 8 EU and I just ordered a coffee and the bill was 22 EU....They brought some salad which was the size of the plate for tea cup. Some bread and 3 sauces plus something with ham without consulting us. So They actaully serve you 15 EU appetizer without your consultancy or telling you that they will charge for this 15 EURO. I have eaten in some good restaurant here which were quite nice and resonable. So NEVER GOING BACK THERE

A decent neighborhood restaurant. I came here on my first day in Lisbon. It was a cold rainy Saturday night. This place was close. I had a pork dish with cauliflower, olives and what seemed like a piri piri sauce. It was pretty good. The wait staff was friendly. If you are hiking up the hill to the castle, this place is a decent place to get dinner.
