A Rua Augusta é a principal rua de compras de Lisboa e atrai também quem aprecia arquitetura. É exclusiva para pedestres, concentra alguns cafés, restaurantes, prédios históricos e é palco para apresentação de artistas de rua.

Been back in Lisbon after 3 years. And like before, wandering up and down this wonderful street was our daily routine before/after dinner. It's got a different character if you are visiting it by day or then at night. In the daytime it's mostyl packed with visitors, but also a good chance to see some street perfomers. We were lucky to catch a group of medical students, performing traditional music and dance. The later it gets, the emptier (but not unsafe) the street gets. Around 11pm to 1am you almost get it for yourself. With the dim lighting it really has lots of charm in the nighttime. Besides the street itself, of course countless shops (brands and independent stores) and restaurants are looking for the next customer. The shops are fun, the restaurants all a bit of the same. Better just for a drink....for good food head somewhere else.
