It is a dream place overlooking Vale Furado beach, about 20 kilometers from Nazare with a unique gastronomical experience. Nazare is the place of the Big Wave which world class surfers worship. After some 20 minutes drive you start feeling you will not reach anywhere significant but when you reach your destination you are greeted with wonderful surprise. The owner chef Slavo and his kitchen wizard Fabio do miracles with food. I loved his fresh cod fish, bacalhau but the john dory fish with citrus and basmati rice and delicate vegetables were also delicious. On good weather days, you can sit outside and admire the view. The color of the water and the sky and white bubbles of the waves are amazing. It is great value for budget. Slavo is a great host. You will leave the place wishing you could visit more often.

Absolutely lovely setting. Superfriendly staff, and very interesting, original menu from the 'Two Spicy Cheffs'. The Razor Shells and Moules Frites were delicious. Must visit when in Nazaré ! Go early, so you can witness the sunset from the terrace!

Razoável, além do ambiente ser bem agradável. Percebo que o melhor horário para ir é no final da tarde, pois é lindo ver o pôr do sol nesse horário. Preços moderados, atendimento rápido e bom.

Tinha muita curiosidade de conhecer o Mad. Ia com as espectativas altas mas ficarem um pouco por superar. O jantar estava bom, mas estava á espera de um pouco mais também pelo preço que pagamos. O melhor do jantar foi a sangria. O espaço é muito agradavel e quem nos recebeu também. Um contra não tem multibanco. Valeu a pena.

This is by all means a restaurant that you should visit. Go there by cab or bring a driver. Order anything from the menu and ask what wine that suits. You should also consider a walk on the beach. Enjoy a place close to heaven both in eat and drink and the surrounding.

Mad nailed it. Everything needed to make a lunch over looking beautiful a beach great was there. The menu has a full selection but not over doing it. The starters, special drinks and main course were perfect. Nice presentation too. Take a walk down the steps to the beach after the meal. You won’t regret it.

Great and fresh seafood, friendly and funny staff, good music choices, and we even attended a live guitar concert. The place is decorated with taste, and the view on the cliffs and sea makes it an amazing spot for a chill and quiet moment.

Bon, excellent ,magnifique vue , serveuses sympa toujours avec le sourire un serveur très sympa passe sans arrêt en chantant les plats un régal des moules frites jamais vu des moules si énormes. De l'apéro jusqu'au dessert un pur plaisir un resto d'excellence qui mérite bien 5 étoiles en plus de ce régaler il y avait un guitariste. Le prix plus que raisonnable pour la quantité et la qualité. Restaurant à 12 km de Nazaré seul problème on ne peut pas payer par carte il faut payer en espèces. Pas besoin de réserver et parking juste à côté avec vue sur la mer digne d'une carte postale.

Localizado junto de uma das praias que mais gosto. A decoração é fantástica e o ambiente um pouco diferente. Atendimento espetacular. Pratos originais com grande qualidade e muito boa apresentação. Boa seleção de vinhos. Espaço ideal para passar também um bom final de tarde com uma vista fabulosa. Preços razoáveis.

Sangria n'est pas vendue au verre. Dommage de devoir acheter 1 litre même si elle est bonne.

el mejor almuerzo desde que llegamos a Europa, fuimos de casualidad a la plata, mos habían dicho que había un lugar para almorzar pero no imaginábamos algo de este nivel de cocina de autor, excelente, menú espectacular, presentación de los platos una delicia, lugar muy bonito, cuidado, con detalles, EXCELENTE LEJOS LO MEJOR DE TODA LA ZONA, no hay internet, x ende pago en efectivo,precios altos pero lo vale

10 jours à Vale Furado avec une location juste à côté à la casa do Abel, nous avons pris pension au MAD, juste parfait Andrė en salle est au top, je rêverais d'avoir des serveurs comme lui dans mon restaurant, toute l’équipe est au petit soin avec nous, une carte qui satisfait tous les palais, tout est frais et excellent, nous recommandons la sangria frappée au vino verde, le prix correspond à ce que nous mangeons, obrigado à tous et longue vie au MAD

Bravo aux deux jeunes serveurs qui sont très dynamique et qui nous donne envie de profiter pleinement.! Ils sont très sympas ! La vue sur les falaises est juste splendide.!.!
Nos enfants ont très bien mangé et les choix sont multiples (poisson, viande, moules,...).!

Preço excessivo para a qualidade da comida. Sentamo nos as 19.30 e a nossa refeição só terminou às 22.30 devido à demora da vinda da comida. Fomos recebidos pelo gerente para uma reserva de 8 pessoas, quando pedimos por uma cadeira de criança ( nono elemento) foi desagradavel dizendo que não era possível uma vez termos feito reserva para 8 e sermos 9.
Restaurante com potencial mas devido a atitude do gerente não regressarei.

After on beautiful day on the hidden gem beach few meters from the restaurant make a last stop for a drink enjoying the beautiful view.
Feeling hungry you at the right place ,
You find there a beautiful choice of revisited portugese dishes with a twist .
Everything is locally sourced , dishes are original and tasty .
This is not yet a gastro place and hopefully it won't.
Well if you are looking for a nice spot with friendly staff, good choice of drinks and great food ,well , you are the right place.
And please remember this place is CASH ONLY !

Correct, mais ce n'est plus la cabane de mon enfance qui vendait des glaces et faisait des sandwichs pour 3€.
Tout est fait pour le touriste, avec des prix pr touristes. Sinon on y mange bien, mais les plats sont un peu long à arriver.

Phantastisches kleines Restaurant. Ansprechende Speise- und Weinauswahl. Gute Küche. Es wird alles frisch zubereitet, bei vollem Lokal also etwas Zeit einplanen. Die Aussicht auf Meer und Strand ist einzigartig. Inhaber und Mitarbeitende sind sehr freundlich und sprechen auch Englisch.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Einen Stern Abzug für Dinge, die wir bezahlen mussten obwohl wir sie nicht bestellt haben und auch nicht gefragt wurden, ob wir sie möchten. Uns wurde eine Flasche Wasser, Brot und ein kleiner Vorspeisenteller hingestellt, was für insgesamt 10,50€ am Ende auf der Rechnung war. Zumindestens fragen hätte man können!

What an amazing little gem in an otherwise quite desolate area. Stunning surroundings with endless view of the cold but vitalising ocean. You can taste the freshness in every bite. If you're lucky you can sample the rare and sought after local delicacy of percebes. Our waiter was knowledgeable but relaxed and have us a truly mesmerising night. All our special request were fulfilled and even added to. We will definitely return if I ever come to Portugal again.

Great food, amazing view, but the service was so bad that we won't be back again, despite the amazing flavours.
The waiters aren't that friendly, don't pay attention to needs of customers, sometimes forget orders repeatedly. Be prepared to pay 8 euro's extra for some bread, olives and a couple of shrimps they place on the table without you asking.
If you don't mind bad service you should definitely go there. The food is good. But if you want to be attended in a nice and friendly way: go somewhere else.

If you are staying within an hour of this place you should eat here at least a few times per year. The chef takes a lot of pride in what he cooks and it shows up from the appetizers to the main course. The service is excellent as well.
