This hostel was my home for 9 days. I must say this one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Why? The staff were amazing. Charlie, Alec, Elise and Kirk made my stay comfortable and full of laughs.

A friend and I spent a week here to go surfing/take surf lessons. By far the best hostel I've been to. Very clean with nice extras like hairdryer and haircurler in the bathroom, furniture in great condition, each room has its own motto, which was cute. The staff were extremely helpful and nice! Debby (the owner) was super nice, organized day trips for us, they were all super relaxed and flexible about driving us to the surf lessons, all in all a great experience! What I also liked was that the people staying at the hostel were very mixed age groups - made it a extra pleasant stay.

Just a hostel ? Most 4 star hotels could learn a thing or two from these guys about service and care. It is homely, quaint, quirky and downright bloody great ! We had the family room up top and loved it. The staff with lend you a push bike, plan your day, take you surfing or even get you signed up with their sister company, Intrepid Trails for a day on their enduro motorcycles. Even the bar works on trust - take what you want and pay later. Add in a great seaside own to explore and fantastic weather what's not to like. Thanks so much to Debbie and the team. We WILL be back.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The complementary breakfast selection greatly my exceeded expectations, and the beer fridge was always stocked. What more could you ask for?

Ambiente acolhedor, porém fomos com um amigo que estava hospedado, jogamos bilhar e bebemos umas cervejas.fomos informados pelos donos que poderíamos voltar quando quisessemos para estar no bar( afinal diz que é um hostel é um bar) quando.regressamos fomos impedidos de entrar pelo próprio dono as 22h da noite, tínhamos sido informados que funcionavam ate a 00h. Concluo dizendo que fiquei decepcionado e constrangido com a situação criada pelos mesmos.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in summer 2014 for the week long surf camp and in one of the private rooms on the top floor. We had a wonderful stay, made some great friends and hope to repeat it again soon in the near future. Steve, Debbie and Star will definitely make you feel at home at the Paintshop!
