Just arrived home from a lovely stay in sunny Portugal. There was a mix up with my room based on the booking and they wanted me to pay extra for a balcony, I refused as it was a fault on the ebookers description so they changed my room without the extra charge. Room was great, only downsides were thin walls (mostly the noisy neighbors to blame here mind) and some sort of plumbing issue which meant the drains made a bubbling noise every time someone on the floor flushed the toilet. Rooms weren’t fully cleaned on a daily basis, just beds made. Pool area was stunning, more than enough sun loungers and plenty of shaded areas, pool is very cold but refreshing after the initial shock. Bar staff on the whole were very helpful and made some lovely cocktails for a reasonable price. I didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant.

This is a budget hotel so my expectations were set pretty low. Despite this I was quite surprised with the amenities available, a well equipped and good sized room which made for a comfortable stay. The pool area was spot on too, although the pool temperature was a bit cold. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed in September 2018 only had a chance to write review now, Great stay, had issue with room with no Balcony but was put in a family sized apartment with balcony when discussed with staff, nice pool area and smaller pool, convenient shops just across the road and only a 5-10 min walk to the beach, will defo consider a revisit.

The hotel was ok, the bed was 2 singles put next to each other, which I did ask for it to be a double, so the sleep wasnt great, but ok. We had bed and breakfast, that was the disappointment part of the holiday, they had one jar of orange juice out, 2 or 3 type of bread left uncovered, ham,cheese and a awfull yourgut, that was it, nothig else. Me and my wife were expecting a little bit more from the breakfast part. I dont think I would be rushing back to be honest.

Das duas visitas feitas em 2017 e 2018, ambas muito boas, nada a apontar. Qualidade/preço do melhor que se pode arranjar no Algarve sem ser resort, perto de várias praias. Recomendo

We visited as a family in the summer. First time in Portugal. Brilliant holiday.
My kids are nuts and they were allowed to be by kind, friendly, patient staff.
Then not having to worry about the kids too much you can relax into the holiday.
Three nice pools around the hotel, each different. Not huge but neither is the hotel. My girls are 12, 8 and 4 and none of them were bored in the pools. Really handy as we ate close by the pool too so my partner and I could enjoy relaxed dinners after the kids ate and dived in to play.
Nice selection of food, especially liked the fresh fish on the daily bbq. I've a vegan and vegetarian daughter and one that basically just eats meat and fish and none of them went hungry (especially my eldest topped up by vegan cornettos from the shop joining).
The room. Wow our apartment was amazing. Best place we've stayed in. So plush and comfortable with so much more than we needed for all inclusive but was really nice facilities were there in case.
The lovely beach within close walking distance is a hidden wonder too.
Would definitely visit here again

Estuvimos alojados en un apartamento con un poquito de jardín con nuestra perrita y nuestra bebe y todo fue perfecto. El trato de Antonio y su compañera, las instalaciones de piscina y bar, todo muy limpio y super equipado. Había hasta una sombrilla para la playa en el armario. Lo que agradecemos mucho pues no llevábamos y con la peque hace falta.
Hay playa a 5minutos andando y si quieres ver otras en coche también están cerca. Supermercados, farmacia, bares y zona para salir a 5minutos en coche.
Realmente recomendable y muy bien de precio. Muy contentos

Provavelmente já foi dos melhores resorts do algarve, mas atualmente está bastante abaixo do que esperava. Quartos com alguma mobília velha, decoração questionável e pequeno almoço muito fraco, principalmente se vais depois das 9:30 da manhã.

Hôtel propre avec du personnel agréable. Il y a plusieurs piscine mais assez froide 20°. La mers est plus chaude et assez proche de l'hôtel a pied. Le restaurant est assez sympa avec des prix modéré qui donne sur la piscine.
Parcontre l'hôtel est assez proche de la route et donc un peu de bruit de circulation. Facile pour se garer.

Sehr gutes und preiswertes Hotel. Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber man ist ja eh zum Großteil draussen. Die Balkone sind nicht wirklich anonym. Man kann seine Nachbarn schon aus dem Zimmer heraus sehen. Außerdem suchten wir einen Aufzug vergebens. Die Koffer trugen wir die Treppe hoch. Für Menschen mit Handicap also kein Hotel.
Nachtrag: eine Fernbedienung für das TV Gerät gab es leider nicht.
Essen ist sehr gut und reichhaltig. Aber eben typisches Hotel-Buffet. Am Pool hatten wir Anfang September unsere Ruhe. Es waren nur wenige Menschen da, kaum Kinder. Man kann hier auch glücklicherweise ausschlafen und muss nicht um 5 am Pool sein, um vor den Reserviergeilen noch eine Liege zu bekommen. Es stehen genügend zur Verfügung.

just got back spending a week in your hotel... would like to thankyou all for such a lovely welcome and stay,,, your staff especially the waiters and bar staff they are a credit to your hotel,,,,, the only thing i would like to bring up(i did write in your suggetion book) is the the fact there are no highlighted steps in the garden pool ,,, perhaps also you could think of a entertainment night either a friday or saturday night once again thankyou all again, we will have no worries in comming back to visit you all again

Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Stanze con arredamento vecchiotto, datato, bagni da rimodernare, appartamenti molti senza aria condizionata e caldi. La cucina a buffet scadente al massimo, in 4 giorni quasi sempre le stesse cose a pranzo e cena.

Here at the moment. Rented an apartment privately and have access to the Apt/Hotels pools/bar/restaurant/pool tables/etc. Pool is really nice, it's mid August and not too crowded, sunbeds a plenty; drinks and snacks from the bar are reasonably priced too. We are not all inclusive but it's fine because there is a mini supermarket which is literally across the street selling all you need, Inc bakery and coffee/cake shop. Some people who we met have said they wished they did the same as us, they are paying about an extra ~€200 per day for all inclusive, yet we spent €100 in Aldi for all our breakfast, lunch and drinks for the week. There are some lovely restaurants in walking distance or short taxi/bus ride to 'the strip'. The lovely beach is 10mins walk away, lovely sandy beach with life guards and lots to do, Inc a beach bar! Our apartment is nice and clean and has all we need Inc air con. Really like it here, very relaxing.

the hotel, is very poor in service, late in servicing the dinner, and not at all generous with replacing towels for the pool, actually there is no pool tower, you have to use your room towel and they will not replace it with a clean one for the room when you need to take a shower. the buffet service, is always the same no variety, the food is not replenished if you came late. so you have to be early to get a half decent meal.

Appartement niquel, rien à redire, par contre le restaurant est pitoyable et ne mérite pas ses 3 étoiles (même pas une). Arrivé dans le restaurant pour une pizza présentée dans le menu à l'entrée, personne ne nous accueille. Je me présente donc à un serveur qui m'annonce qu'il n'y a que le buffet à volonté, nous décidons donc de manger sur place. Les plats étaient froids pas très bon (où sont les 3 étoiles ?). Le rosé est vendu comme étant de la maisons Mateus... Quand on souleve la poche à glaçon, on se rend compte que c'est faux. Dans la soirée, un serveur fait tomber à plusieurs reprises des verres, des assiètes... Un client s'est retrouvé trempé, uniquement car le serveur au lieu de faire le tour, a voulu passer entre un pilier et la chaise (espace très étroit). Pour finir, 3 personnes malades le lendemain (douleurs au ventre...).
En conclusion, y loger est super, mais le restaurant est à fuir.

I stayed here in April. I think there was maybe 5 other families/guests staying at the time as it wasn’t quite the holiday season yet. The staff were lovely, there was Paulo and the young guy in the bar from Ukraine and everyone went out of their way to help. The food was really great! Not too far from the beach, a supermarket and pharmacy nearby, quiet location but not too far from the town either.

It was incredible. The staff were all so very lovely. The chef grilled the best fish I’ve had in a long time and was very friendly. The apartment was very clean and the ladies who cleaned did a great job. There were three pools to choose from excellent. I would have loved to stay much longer but we all have to get back home at some point. I give the hotel 5 stars.

- Bebidas não incluídas com meia pensão, sobretudo a ÁGUA (2,50€), uma garrafa de vinho 7€ é um exagero !
- Os sumos ao pequeno almoço super artificiais
- Toalhas mudadas simplesmente de 3 em 3 dias e camas antigas muito barulhosas

El hotel está bastante bien en general. Tiene una playa que no está mal a 5 minutos a pie, bajando una cuesta infernal (cosa que al ir no importa pero te fastidia a la vuelta). Para todo lo demás necesitas coger el coche.
El sitio es muy limpio, las instalaciones están bastante bien, salvando que la cerradura de nuestra habitación no funcionaba y a pesar de decirlo en recepción nos dieron largas y nadie hizo nada. La habitación bien en general, grande y con terraza con tumbonas. Tiene tres buenas piscinas.
La comida no ofrece mucha variedad pero está bastante rica, sobre todo los postres.
Por último el servicio es excepcional, todo el personal muy amable.
Nosotros hemos tenido la suerte de ir en un periodo que no había mucha gente... En el mes de julio debe estar abarrotado.
En resumen, está bien para el precio que tiene, recomendable.

Info regarding facilities very limited. Had to purchase 2 towels to use around pool as they do not supply them. This is a first for me. Like going back to the 70's. Room clean but very basic. No tea or coffee in room but theres a coffee machine. Food very limited and pretty much the same every night. Hardly any choice for all inclusive. Also food that should be hot is only just warm. Came for our anniversary but will definately be going elsewhere for a nice meal on that day. Friendly staff.

Just came back after our third year visiting balaia mar hotel poalo who runs the restaurant is fantastic and all his staff .and jose sports bar is such a great barman . Food ok for inclusive only downside it was sometimes a bit cold at times.beach is only a short walk away and taxis cheap to go to new and old town albufeira love this hotel great value .thankyou again for a lovely holiday .

They are supposed to provide WI-FI but it is bad at best and non existant the rest of the time. The gardening staff are intrusive in your personal space. i.e. moving your bags and touching your belongings. There are razor sharp floor tiles broken around the complex. The gardening staff are out with leaf blowers at 8am in the morning so no chance to have a sleep in. They should use their yard brush at that hour in the morning. We are supposed to be on holiday and not woken up like that. It's a disgrace that management allows this to happen.

Nice hotel with several swimmingpools, a small but nice garden with bed. The room i have (room nr2) has a big 2 persons bed, a bath and airco. A small balcony with two very bad plastic seats give you a nice view on the swimmingpool.staff and personal very friendly and the food sofar is very nice. But why they dont have Cola zero???

L accueil est parfait
Les employées vous aident à choisir vos excursions et vous expliquent en détail ce qu elles contiennent (quand vous ne parlez pas anglais ni portugais c est bien pratique)
Ils s adaptent à vous et vous aiguillent sur les lieux et villes à visiter.
En demi pension pendant une semaine. Le buffet est complet et c est bon ! Le seul bémol et que toutes les boissons sont payantes .. donc à moins de payer une bouteille d eau 1.50€ les 33cl vous ne pourrait pas boire pendant le repas
Les chambres sont très bien. Vous disposez d'un un frigo et d un coffre fort (très très pratique) mais un conseil acheter de l eau en bouteille !
Les femmes de ménage sont très compétente. Les serviettes sont changé tous les jours même si vous ne le demandé pas !
Piscine très propre et côté transat parfaitement entretenu
Je conseille vraiment cet hôtel !

Tout avait bien commencé, jusqu’à larrivée dun groupe de jeunes anglophones. Ces personnes ont pris possession des pourtours de la piscine, à journée faite. Ils buvaient de lalcool toute la journée, pour finir complètement ivres.Indisposant les autres utilisateurs de la piscine, par des hurlements, des cris, avec de la musique à fond, même en cassant un mobilier de jardin.Mon appartement était directement à hauteur de la piscine. Donc impossible de bénéficier de la jolie terrasse, étant indisposé par ce que jai décrit plus haut.Je me suis adressé à 2 reprises à la réception. Jai demandé de pouvoir changer de chambre, cela ma été refusé.DONC EN CONCLUSION, LA DIRECTION ADMET CES COMPORTEMENTS INADMISSIBLES, MÊME LES FAVORISEEN VENDANT DE LALCOOL A DES PERSONNES IVRES. CEST VRAI QUE LE TIROIR CAISSE EST IMPORTANT !

El personal tanto de recepción como del buffet son increible, ya que se preocupan bastante por el cliente y son bastante serviciales. El apartamento muy amplio y limpio, su cocina bien equipada con todo un menaje completo. Repetiré.

Increíbles las instalaciones: piscinas, campos de golf, pistas de tenis... El apartamento: inmejorable tanto por ubicación como por mobiliario y limpieza.

Propre, près des plages, du centre ville vivant la nuit et si vous avez un véhicule, vous pourrez visiter plein de petites criques.
Pour la restauration je vous recommande de prendre demi pension avec petit déjeuner et dîner.

Close to the beach, good quality food, rooms big, well equipped and spacious. Pool was also fantastic but a bit on the cold side, whilst the bar was quite noisy where our room was and there weren't tonnes of options for vegetarians for dinner.

Hotel deixa muito a desejar,a começar pelos quartos,com o cheiro frequente a esgotos a não ter ar condicionado,não cumprem com a hora de chek-in? tive mais de 1 hora a espera do quarto.o tudo incluído afinal não é tudo incluído!!!!!as 2 estrelas vão para os funcionários do restaurante que são simpáticos e sempre prontos ajudar a comida é boa....
a limpeza dos quartos é péssima e quartos muito antiquados....

Very nice hotel, run by a kind and helpful staff. Excellent location at walkable distance from a beautiful beach (Maria Luisa). Gorgeous swimming pool with restaurant around it for delicious meals.

uma semana em que tivemos problemas de esgotos, rapidamente resolvido, descanso na piscina perturbado apenas pela música dos Sr.s empregados do bar/restaurante limpeza do apartamento a correr.
estive aqui em Setembro de 2011. não penso voltar. três estrelas pelo preço se calhar não podia pedir melhor. as instalações são muito boas, piscina comida (pequeno almoço). infelizmente o pessoal...

About a 25min walk to new town. Quite far from the old town so we took a cab. Close to the beach. Free parking. Clean and quiet place to stay. Breakfast was decent. Lots of kids!

Lovely apartments, my family stayed in block C. Overlooks the pool but you have to walk round it to to get in, not a big issue. Pool is very deep with only small shallow ledge at one end. They do not encourage water sports as the pool is not very big and the sun beds are very close together and near the pool. Small children's pool area at one end. We self catered but the food isn't that expensive at the restaurant, I would advise buying your own booze at the super market across the road. There is also a pool by the main bar / restaurant which closes at 1am.

Visitei este hotel pela primeira vez e adorei. Staff muito simpático . Espaço muito acolhedor. Espaço das refeições muito amplo, agradável. Comida diversificada e muito bem confeccionada. Aconselho.

Beautiful clean comfortable rooms, excellent facilities and the staff are absolutely amazing especially Carlos from the pool bar and Jose (the world's greatest cocktail barman) from the sports bar. We only booked for five days and wish we had booked more......we are going to book another ten days at the Balaia Mar in September before we leave!!!!!!

Habitacion muy limpia, amplia, todo muy nuevo y agradable.
El trato de todos los empleados es estupendo.
El precio en Mayo está fenomenal para la calidad del hotel.
Lo recomiendo totalmente.
Hablo siempre de las habitaciones, las que rodean a la piscina, no puedo dar opinión sobre los apartamentos que no los vímos.
Las únicas pegas es lo mal que funciona el Wifi y el horario del desayuno (de 8 a 10h.)

Had a few nights here in May 2014. Great value for money. Rooms have a balcony looking over the pool. It's a 5 min walk to a secluded beach which has 1 restaurant (you share with a couple of other hotes but is never crowded). Close to Albufeira by car and easy drive from Faro. It could need with a face lift but is very clean and comfortable.
