The food was some of the tastiest we had in Portugal. The house cake speciality was devine and the daily special dinner of potato, beans and cauliflower had some special spices which were wonderful. The conversation was equally as inspiring. Thank you Mónica for a wonderful experience!

Ambiente e ideologia Vegan

Visited this little restaurant/cafe after reading some of the reviews and we weren't disappointed. My partner is vegetarian and we often hunt out little gems like this when we are on holiday. There is a decent sized menu and everything is cooked from scratch, in the kitchen, which is right in front of you. Our food was well worth the wait and was absolutely delicious, all washed down with some homemade ginger tea and a beer. Monica is a very friendly woman and is more than happy to talk with you about her activism around animal welfare and veganism. We were both very sad to hear about the abuse she receives regarding this, which is making it very hard for her to continue to keep Veggie Momi open. If you are at all interested in trying delicious vegan food, are a vegan or are a supporter of animal rights, I would strongly encourage you to visit and giver Monica all the support she deserves.

I will be again another person saying the same thing, there is a big hill to climb... But please climb it!! You are not going to regret it. Mónica is just the best person, you can talk to her the whole afternoon about her activism, vegan (junk) food, animals... The food is awesome! We had the vegan pizza, croquetas de tofu, empada de feijão... And of course, the vegan bolo de bolacha! I cannot recommend this place enough.

We walked quite far to get here and it was totally worth the walk. The food was amazing, very fresh and definitely made with love!! We got the vegan lasagna, vegan pizza, and a quiche. All the food was so good we couldn't stop Talking about it. Prices are good and really nice portion sizes.

Veggie Momi is lovely! And she cooks delicious food, if you’re in the area vegan or not make sure you stop for lunch! The cakes are also delicious.

It's a business (and hostess) not afraid to show the truth, that wears its heart on its sleeve and doesn't succumb to society's pressure. This raw attitude of truth and ethics is exactly what people need, and won't regret, hearing. We need more of this in the world; principled vegan businesses with true activism as their main objective and not just as a profit gimmick, who could sell out at the first sign of problems. Veggie Momi is a lovely little place for delicious vegan food, and it's owner Monica is just wonderful. We had the jackfruit cheese toastie with a side of mayo that had just been freshly made and would definitely recommend it. The pizza was delicious too and so filling! We ended up taking half away to have the next day. Excellent value for money as well.

Gorgeous vegan food! We tried the special of the day and the vegan burger and both were delicious. The lady who runs the cafe (Monica) does everything herself and works hard to create the cosy, amiable environment she has created. We sadly discovered this little gem on our last night. So, if you're in Albufeira, I would recommend a visit to Veggie Momi as soon as you arrive!

Traveling in Portugal is wonderful, so much to see. After awhile, one can grow a little tired of cured ham and bread. Portuguese don’t eat a lot of vegetables, so I was starving for them. Then I found Veggie Momi in Albufiera, a coastal town known for English-speaking ex-pats, and am in absolute heaven. “All is vegan here”. The owner, Monica, cooks all the food herself in a tiny kitchen and it is all delicious. She is an animal rights activist and educator. Highly recommend.

Oh if you are vegan, on the way to be one or simply enjoying plant based food you have to visit Veggie Momi, and you will be in awesome hands of Monica the owner which will become your friend. All food I had there was extremely taste and if have a sweet tooth like me definitely try her .

Monica makes everyone feel at home and welcome! She is extremely friendly and an amazing cook! The food is heavenly and always fresh. Everyday she will make something different and the second serving is for free! Would recommend this place to everyone who also hates the touristic and disgusting touristy restaurants in the city centre!
