Overpriced watered down food and horrible tasting coffee. Unfortunately just another tourist trap in Lagos..
Edit: we ordered muesli with yoghurt and “extra fruit” for €6. There was almost no museli, just raisins and a tiny bit of fruit swimming in watered down milky yoghurt. This price does not match other cafes in the area that serve generous portions without charging extra for fruit. Coffee was very bitter but inexpensive at 75 cents for an espresso so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Best cafe in Lagos! Amazing food and the staff are friendly and accommodating with any allergies or food preferences. We've been going here for years and love the salads, omelettes and smoothies! Also you have to try a herbal tea in one of their tea pots with a flower on the cup! Fresh fruit on the tables daily and great wifi to FaceTime with family or get some work done. The cafe is open plan with pretty seating, cushions, and blankets at each table. Highly recommended! :)

Went in, ordered food with coffee. Waited. Waited. More people sat diwn and ordered. We saw them get coffees and got chocolates. Waited, then asked for our coffees if it was the food holding them up. Coffee arrived so hot, watery and with so much over frothed milk it was like milky tea with no tea in it. Food arrived. Eggs were both overcooked with solid yolks and undercooked with runny whites. Sausage was undercooked. Avoid..

Terras, over de winkelstraat met rood tapijt verbonden met het Bora café aan de overkant op twee hoeken, in het oude centrum van Lagos. Heerlijke vers fruit drankjes, ( detox juices) (milk shakes). Open voor breakfast, lunch en dinner. Top!!

Love this cafe that extends into the street and has an establishment on both sides. They've included a carpet across the street and the canopy extends and joins at both sides. They have some chill down tempo music playing outside and it's a very pleasant atmosphere. Relax, grab a drink and enjoy the location and people watching. The restrooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the seats were comfortable. There are blankets available on chilly afternoons.

Sehr nettes Cafe im Herzen von Lagos.
Man kann auch sehr gut eine Kleinigkeit, wie z.B. Sopa do Dia oder anderes zu sich nehmen. Man sitzt sehr gemütlich und wird von sehr freundlichem Personal bedient. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen!

Lovely beetroot detox smoothie, followed by vegetable soup with bread,olives,pate,feta cheese,sardine pate.
Sitting outside lovely comfortable sofa, watching world go by.

Hands down the worst service and breakfast we had during our stay in Algarve. As we walked around Lagos, we were attracted by the cute outdoor seating, little did we know that this place was a false facade for what felt like a unsavory tourist trap. We both ordered English breakfasts, orange juice, and cappuccinos. Not one item on this list delivered a minuscule amount of joy. The breakfast portions were incredibly small compared to the massive plates they were served on, which took up half of our table. The breakfast consisted of one lonely sausage, 2 pieces of toast cut into 10 tiny pieces, a sad hot tomato ( literally a tomate heated up in a microwave), a small egg, some beans from a can, and decent bacon. This breakfast was extremely disappointing and had no flavor at all. Both of our cappuccinos were trash, they literally tasted like a water down hotel coffee with cream on top. Just awful. I do not recommend this place at all.

First time I visited I waited almost an hour for my sandwich. When it arrived it was "ok", nothing special at all. The juice of the day appeared to be watered down.
I decided to give it another go a few weeks later, unfortunately a very similar experience. Staff were not friendly at all. In fact, they didn't even acknowledge my arrival and I had to ask them twice to take my order. Well over an hour had gone by this time and still no sign of my lunch, so I asked how long it would be and was told at least another 20 minutes, so I decided to cancel and go elsewhere. People on the next table had waited an hour and 45 minutes and still hadn't received their food. They are terribly understaffed and there appeared to be only one person in the kitchen making all the food (and VERY slowly).

Plenty of seating and we we're sat just as we arrived. Ordered two coffees along with our breakfast and a juice. Waited about 20 minutes for the coffees and an hour for the rest. Food and juice was nice but service was painfully SLOW while trying to start our day in Algarve. Decent spot if you have got nothing else to do otherwise skip.

Better have cash... No indication that they are cash only business, the service was so-so. After asking for the check the server took quite a long time to get it to us. We had toast and jam and an egg sandwich, hard to mess up. The atmosphere was nice, the waiter spoke English well.

Good tasty salads and freshly squeezed juices... Which is a pity since this is probably the slowest service you will ever get. We waited around 1 hour and 10 minutes to get our food, which consisted of a single salad and two toasties. While the place was full when we sat down nobody explained the wait times... My coffee came after about 20 minutes, the juice in about 30, and then we waited (along with everyone else at the other tables). It's a real shame since we liked the food! To finish things off, another surprise awaited... they don't take cards, which meant I had to go to one of the Euronet ATMs (surcharge of 2.95 EUR per withdrawal) to get cash and be able to pay. Don't go there unless you aren't hungry, thirsty, and have a couple of hours to kill!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
Absolutely terrible service. We ordered some fresh juices, a salad and a couple of toasts. It took them 45 minutes to bring our drinks after we had complained for the 3rd time. When the waitress finally brought the first juice, it was the wrong one. We commented on it and she snapped at us stating that this was what we had ordered. We let it be. Finally after 2 other groups had been served who arrived noticeably later than we did, we received our meals and other juices. They where average..
Would not recommend!

Wir machen hier bei einem Lagos-Besuch seit Jahren einen Abstecher und sind im Großen und Ganzen auch immer zufrieden gewesen. Schließlich bietet das Bora irgendwie Angebote abseits der Touristen-mäßigen Angebote in dem von Jahr zu Jahr touristischer werdenden Lagos. Die Erfahrung, die wir heute en famille machen mussten, war jedoch schlichtweg inakzeptabel: zwar ging der Saft des Tages aufgrund des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses noch an, aber die lieblos dahingeklatschten Sandwiches und die Lustlosigkeit, mit der alles serviert wurde, waren einfach nur enttäuschend. Bestellte Getränke wurden einfach nicht serviert, so daß einzelne Familienmitglieder eine halbe Stunde durstig und mit heraushängender Zunge neben den anderen saßen. Schade eigentlich, aber wohl auch der Realität des Anheimfallens touristischer Heerschaaren geschuldet.

Also ich muss sagen wir sind zufällig daran vorbei gekommen aber wir hatten eine echt schöne Zeit dort. Wir haben 2mal frische frucht smoothy getrunken und ich muss sagen sie waren frisch lecker und natürlich keine zusatz Stoffe und das für 3 Euro das Getränk mit drei verschiedenen Früchten also ich kann jedem empfehlen dort zu essen das Ambiente ist auch sehr angenehm und entspannen und die Preise sind total in Ordnung mann muss allerdings etwas auf sein Essen warten aber das liegt daran dass es nun mal frisch zubereitet wird

Couple de passage à Lagos 1 journée pour les vacances, avons brunché a Bora le matin. Avons tellement apprécié la qualité des plats proposés et la fraîcheur des aliments que nous y sommes retourné le soir. Ambiance sympa, plats « diet », super jus, prix abordables. Nous recommandons.

Ordered a customized toast for breakfast. They seemed surprised about the creation I was asking for but I don’t care, it was delicious. It was essentially a grilled breakfast sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, melted cheese, and thinly sliced ham. Super good.

Wir waren letztes Jahr im Januar dort und begeistert. Ein sehr kleines schönes Café, welches Kaffee, Säfte, Salate, Toast, etc verkauft. Wir haben uns durch die Speisekarte gefuttert und alles war lecker. Sehr zu empfehlen. Dieses Jahr werden wir wieder dort einkehren.

This used to be one of my favourite places to sit and have lunch, whilst working on my laptop and drinking coffee. However, as time goes by the service has only gotten worse and so has the quality of the food. The relatively high prices used to be worth it, as the healthy meals and great fruit juices seemed to be made with love and passion for what was being served. Now I would not even give €2,50 for their yogurt bowl which costs €8,50 (if I'm not wrong).

We ordered tapas plates, just to have snacks but at the end it was more then we expected. These plates cost 6.50 euro. They were good. Maybe not local but good. In this place they accept payment only in cash, be sure to have it. Otherwise there is an atm right behind the corner.

Keine Ahnung wie sie den Cappuccino machen, aber der war nicht trinkbar. Als wir den Kellner darauf hingewiesen haben, kam nur die Meldung, dass sie den so machen. Wurde voll verrechnet.
Der Rest (Calhau) war Ok, aber nicht überwältigend. Es gibt bessere Cafés in Lagos!

Used to be a great place, but not anymore. New owners or management?? The items on the menu are the same, but the quality and prices are terrible. Had a €9 tuna salad, nothing special and very little tuna. No bread, no butter, no taste. My friends had mozzarella tapas. Sliced tomato with mozzarella on top. No garnish, no bread. 4 people, drinking water. 2 salads, 2 tapas €41. Never ever again. Oh yeah, we waited at least 30mins for the food.

Interessantes kleines Cafe. Im Grunde 2 gegenüberliegende Cafes nur durch eine schmale Gasse getrennt. Die Gasse ist in diesem Bereich mit einer Markise überdacht. Besonders toll sind die frisch gepressten Drinks des Tages. Z.b. frisch gepresster Apfelsaft.

Food was terrible - ordered tuna toasta, the flaked tuna was dry and tasteless, you could see the edges brown. Toast was stale so it was then drenched in butter and half deep fried. Service extremely slow, someone waited in line before me for 10 min without being acknowledged let alone apologized for. 2 stars is for the atmosphere.

Great place for lunch- drinks, salads, sandwiches and bites- everything looks so fresh just like directly landed from the market on your plate! The natural juices they make on the spot are very tasty and creative! You want your own combination- you name it they make it; and then the real stuff- no commercial tricks. Cool atmosphere, relaxed lounge music. Plus no competition for their prices. Totally recommended!

The juice tasted more like apple than pineapple and was a bit watery..

Très beau cadre des produits frais dans toute la carte de quoi se régaler tout au long de la journée avec toasts salades sandwichs tapas et jus de fruit fait maison ! Un endroit incontournable

The food is delicious and the drinks are fine. I recommend the Greek salad and the pineapple - mint juice, both of them are amazing. The staff is friendly and speaks English.

At first the warming ambiance attracted me. However, it turned out to be a smoker's den. I sat down and discretely moved the overladen ashtray from my table. The waiter noticed and plonked it right back in front of me. I politely said that I found it offensive and it might invite smokers to sit with me at my table so I moved it to another table. He soon came back with a clean ashtray and placed it right under my nose knowing full well that I found smoking invasive and disrespectful. Again, I moved it to the side. I chose not to have another glass of 'watered down' wine there. I won't be back.

É excelente em todos os aspectos desde a simpatia e profissionalismo dos funcionários à qualidade dos alimentos, aqui é possível encontrar comida saudável e fresquossima os sumos são feitos na hora aproveitando as vitaminas na totalidade as saladas são fresquissimas o café e muito bom, o espaço apresenta uma decoração muito acolhedora e original, o espaço físico torna-se pequeno pois é bastante procurado mas quem lá vai fica com vontade de voltar não é caro, verdadeiramente bom para o genero

Por diversas vezes já estive neste Café, atmosfera agradavel e preços convidativos, o ponto muito negativo é no tempo de espera que é insuportável, da última vez que fiz uma refeição no mesmo esperei 50 minutos pela sopa do dia, infelizmente não é uma situação pontual porque noutras ocasiões pedi uma tosta mista e esperei 30 minutos pela mesma.

During our stay in Lagos we came here every day - once for lunch and twice for breakfast. They have a lovely patio with lots of seating. They provide blankets and lap warmers during the cooler mornings in Nov. Their salads and sandwiches were really fresh and generous portions. Their coffee was excellent - duplo espresso with leite (aka duplo pingada) was our favorite. We also loved the detox juice! Charming little spot. Great service. Awesome atmosphere. Good music always on. Tasty food. Very reasonable prices.

We visited the cafe for lunch and waited for over an hour for our food - with 2 small kids (!). Then half the order was messed up and our kids didn't get anything.

Great place for a dinner. Huge portions and healthy food. The Bora Cafe proposes nice detox juices and delicious smoothies. We ordered salmon salad and omelette and both were just perfect. Amazing atmosphere, design and delicious food make this place a good choice.

Un café muy bonito, con una terraza muy agradable, donde hacen unos zumos deliciosos, todo fruta natural. El precio no es caro, en comparación con otros establecimientos similares. El baño curioso de ver y muy bonito. Un poco lento el servicio. Pero repetiría sin duda.

We took salad for lunch and one freshly made juice. The salad was good with ok ingredients, and the juice was tasty. Paid around 22 euro including water. I might have increased the review if I would have taken the bora crepes which looked very tasty with vanilla ice cream inside and chocolate on top. Staff is kind.

4 stars for chill out atmosphere and healthy choices but more likely 3 stars if we want to be honest. The wait was unbearable, 15 min in and they brought our juices to wrong table. they got to keep them for free and staff did not even apologize for the wait to us. The juices themselves were ok but still a nice option on a hot day. Staff is not Portuguese and doesn't care about customer service.

We ended up coming here 3 times during our stay in Lagos. Service is not the best and could be slow during busy times, but the food is great. Make sure to try their olive dish. It is less than a Euro and tastes great. Lots of locals seem to come here late afternoon for espresso. They all seem to smoke too.
