Altehrwürdiges uraltes Haus mit dicken Burgmauern inmitten von Weinbergen und lediglich 5 Zimmern. Auch die Einrichtung strahlt historischen Geist aus. Das Frühstück war großartig. Eim echter Geheimtipp für Leute, die das Besondere lieben.

Une belle maison du 17e siècle meublée de lépoque, dans le petit village de Ste Martha. Grande chambre, très propre, fort sympatique.

Highly recommend a stay at this budget priced mansion, with its centuries old paintings and art works. The views over the valley are stunning, and we rate the drive to Porto from this stay the best in Portugal!The hostess was limited in English, but gave us our most memorable stay of our 5 week trip around the Spanish peninsula. The breakfast supplied and included was superb, and we would recommend all travellers to stop over longer than our one day schedule allowed. An experienced not to be missed, Casa Grande is the jewel in the wine region by far. We rate this stop our best so far.....

Sehr schönes Gästehaus, mit schönen Zimmern hinter meterdicken Wänden. Das Gebäude ist aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Es war sauber und das Personal war sehr nett.

Were picked up and returned to the property by both Alexandria and Roberto. The hosts both work and had we have known we would have taken a later train as we were picked up and taken to their magnificent B & B as it is about 10 kilometres out of Regua. We hiked the next day and took pictures around the area as there is few services in the area so one needs to come by car of be prepared to walk up and down as the actual townsite with restaurants is downhill 2-3 kilometres and a somewhat narrow road. Best memory of Portugal and will never forget staying at Casa Grande.

When we read of how that at this time of year the Douro Valley is very crowded with tourists we were surprised to find that Casa Grande is just a short distance and scenic alternative. Being in a 17th century vila made our stay in Portugal feel authentic. Alexandra, her husband & staff were very excellent hosts and treated us very well.

Beautiful historic and cozy mansion. Very inviting staff. Extremely clean. We, surely, would return for few extra days. Highly recommended.

Lieu et cadre pittoresques, meubles et décoration vintage, caractère authentique conservé. Personnel hospitalier, attentionné. Charme de la campagne environnante.

Loger dans ce B&B, vous permettra de loger dans un endroit intact datant de plusieurs années (de mémoire dans les années 1800). Tout y est restés intacts (photo, bible, figurine, etc.) En plus le personnel est d’une attention extraordinaire!!! Vous serez vraiment aux petits soins!Le déjeuner était extra, seul point à améliorer, il n’y avait pas de fruit, mais vous serez comblez par la variété de confiture maison offerte!Finalement, l’emplacement est très bien, légèrement à l’écart des vignobles de la vallée du Dourou. Un petit air aménagé par le village est aussi disponible pour faire un picnic devant l’auberge.N’hésitez pas!

Beautiful and historic hotel with very nice hosts Robert, his wife and Ms Zinda. They were all very helpful and polite.

We loved our stay at Casa Grande do Serrado! The owner was very nice and takes great pride in his home. The home itself was fantastic - so much character in this 18th century home, but modernized to make it comfortable for todays guests. We loved the wood fire in the fireplace in the common sitting room. Our room was comfortable with a heater for the cooler nights we had during our stay. Breakfast was one of the best ones we had during our visit to Portugal. The owner provided recommendations for local restaurants that were quite good. Upon leaving, he even helped us carry our suitcases to the car! We would highly recommend staying here during a visit to the Douro Valley.

The owner is kind and always available to help. He provided us good tips and nice places to visit and taste good port wines. Such a nice surprise! It worth visiting for sure.

This is a gorgeous house - you stay like in the very nice museum. It has a great atmosphere of the 18century house. Imagine 2-3 hundred years ago people lived in this house!!! Nice, clean, warm and great hosts!

Een mooi gerestaureerd guesthouse al uit de 17e eeuw stammend. Erg authentiek en een bijzonder positieve ervaring. Roberto, de gastheer, verzorgt 's-ochtends het ontbijt in de gezamenlijk keuken. Verder heeft hij leuke tips wat te doen/te eten in de omgeving. Wij gaan zo een rondleiding krijgen op de bodega van zijn schoonfamilie.
