First time to a restaurant since lockdown began. And what a great experience! Chic, simple interior decoration and Johann the perfect host even though he was the only one waiting at table. We had a very English 3 course meal which was simply perfect. We shall return to try your normal menus soon. Thanks

Restaurante clasista y poco recomendable. Llegamos a las 21 de la noche, había dos mesas contadas y nos dijeron que no tenían tiempo en cocina para preparar un menú degustacion de 5 platos, surrealista, me dedico a la restauración y me pareció lamentable, si cierras la cocina cierra la puerta del restaurante y listo. No me gustaría comer un día que esté lleno porque...

Addition correcte mais rien avec... Pte attention ?
Ne parle pas le français... Et ne traite pas tt ses clients de manière égale ..

We visited here in August for my sisters birthday dinner. It is a lovely little place tucked away and looks so picturesque even from the outside. We all have the five course taster menu and there really is something for everyone, each course was as delicious as the previous and we came out of there feeling amazing and very full. The wine menu was varied but of course we had to try one of the infamous Cliff Richard's and it went perfectly with the meal. It is a very small intimate restaurant and perfect for that special moment and completely reasonable in price for the standard of food you receive. They even gave my sister a cake for her birthday in a heart shape to bring home with her. We will definitely be visiting again when next in Portugal

Lovely food best we tried in Albuferia. It takes a good 3hrs which we thought was a little to long but food was tasty and make sure to arrive early other wise you won't get a seat

Cute tiny restaurant off the strip (a 5 minute walk at most) - was unimpressed by the strip restaurants even the local ones with high ratings. Definitely worth it. From the outside, it’s unassuming but inside, surprisingly can fit about 8 tables and cute decor.
The food was described as “international”, using local ingredients.
Would recommend reservations as it is is small. Great service and food. Menu changes everyday. A good list of wines. The menu consists only of a 5 course meal for 49 euro pp. We had a delicious assortment of 3 types of breads (included), appetizer, soup, fish, choice of meat, deserts.
Ask the waiter about the fun Dom Carlos painting in the back of the restaurant. Dress up a little. We got snobby looks by other patrons because (I assume) we weren’t dolled up.

Without a doubt the best meal we had in Portugal. We'd read the reviews and saved this for our last night. Every course of our tasting menu was incredibly tasty. Service was great. Only bad point was that they only open for limited hours, if I owned the place I'd be making a lot more money!!

Difficult to find a good restaurant in Albufeira. Dom Carlos is a quiet and cost place. Food was good; service was great.

I’ve given it 5 stars, a star for each dish from the 5 course tasting menu. But I’d prefer to call this the tasty menu because boy was it tasty! Each dish was beautifully presented and massaged all 5 of my experienced taste buds. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fabulous. Ate at Don Carlos in July. we really enjoyed it.
We recommend this restaurant to couples.
Will definitely be back next Summer.

Incredible resteraunt and amazing food. We visited Dom Carlos a couple of years ago and loved it. The husband and wife owners were fabulous, very accommodating and charming. Every course was gorgeous and the wine was incredible too. We're hoping to book again when we return to albuferier this year. We would highly recommend!

Service was brilliant, so friendly and the front of house goes around making sure everyone is happy and this comes across as genuine. The food was amazing! So delicious and the attention to detail was great.

Brilliant food, good service, offer of a pre dinner drink would have been nice. Food preparation and cooking all explained, presentation very nice, lovely location and setting. Not cheap but worth it.

A stunning gastronomic experience. The moment you walk through the door you feel at home. This small restaurant (seats no more than 20) feels homely, and you’re made to feel at home by the owners right from the off. A stunning five course dining experience brought to life by the husband and wife duo. The chef Peter explains every plate in fine detail before you order, only to make you want everything that’s to offer. This was such a wonderful evening and we an amazing experience. This place is better than most places I’ve been to in the UK. I can’t wait to come back!

Tolles Essen, super netter Empfang und ebenso zuvorkommende Bedienung. Man muss Dom Carlos besuchen wenn man in Albufeira ist. Ohne Reservierung wird man allerdings keinen Tisch bekommen.

We loved our evening with Ana and Peter. Ana welcomed us very nicely and explained the menu to us with passion. Also, lovely to hear her speak about her husband Peter, the cook. The food was delicious and well balanced. Well worth the money!

My boyfriend and myself went to Dom Carlos restaurant after looking up reviews. The food beat our expectations! It was outstanding! Both Peter and Ana were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend going here for a nice romantic 5 course meal. I would definitely go back to Portugal especially for the food there it was well worth the money.

Very nice place, great food, very nice hosts. Flexible fixed gourmet menu, great value. We were lucky to just fill a skipped reservation but you'd better get a reservation ahead.

July 2016: Excellent from start to finish. A delightful evening of superb dining. Every dish was explained to us in detail and was outstanding. Would definitely recommend a visit.
July 2017: Another wonderful evening. Ana & Peter never disappoint. The standard excellent again. It really doesn't get any better than this. Booking in advance recommended.

Finest dining experience in Albufeira area.
I've dined here for over ten years and find it hard to believe I have never written a review of the Dom Carlos. However, needless to say, Chef proprietor Peter's style of cooking is the best I have experienced along the Algarve coast and is definitely head and shoulders above anywhere else in Albufeira. The set-price five course menu with two options for each course is always different as all ingredients are freshly purchased and prepared - accompanied by a basket of delicious home-baked breads.
Frankly, the quality speaks for itself and is backed up by the volume of 5* reviews on tripadvisor, now gusting around the 1000 mark.
Unsurprisingly this small restaurant is highly sought after and is very busy, even out of traditional peak season, therefore BOOK VERY EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!

What can I say about the places. The menu is set to five courses from two menus, the price is fixed at €49. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back again. Def recommend.

Restaurant with a difference, you do need to book as there are few places. Its kind of being at home in a restaurant. They really look after you and the food is quite different to anywhere else. Try the all in option for around 50 euros. I guarantee you wont be disappointed. A real hidden gem. The staff are very welcoming and the owner/chef will explain everything he has to offer. Spectacular!!

Ottimo servizio e ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo. Sicuramente un livello superiore rispetto alla media dei ristoranti di Albufeira. Per la ns esperienza il migliore. Nn un luogo scontato e commerciale ma molto raffinato con cibo di qualita' e piatti molto curati. Complimenti ai gestori!! Meglio prenotare..

J'avais réservé par téléphone une table dans cet établissement pour une soirée en amoureux partagée avec mon épouse. En arrivant, le personnel nous a tout simplement refusé l'entrée car nous avions eu la mauvaise idée de venir avec notre fils de 2 ans qui dormait dans la poussette... Impossible de rentrer dans cet établissement avec un enfant de cet âge... Le code de la maison nous a-t-on dit ! À méditer...

We went there twice. each time superb. Peter the chef is very enthusiastic about sourcing his food five courses and the dishes are very tasty. It is worth restricting your intake during the day as the five courses are quite filling! Ana is very good at managing the front of house and making sure everyone is happy. Tip: the recommended house wines are lovely.

For those who like to know exactly what they’re eating, Dom Carlos is the place. The menu changes daily and is determined by which fresh ingredients can be sourced by Peter, the owner and chef. He individually explains the elements of each dish to guests with great passion, before five courses are ordered from a limited menu. But the restricted choice means food is exclusively prepared, and the hardest part of picking what to eat is deciding which plates to leave out.
Entertainment is provided by Peter’s elegant wife, Ana, who spends her evening constantly moving between tables making diners enjoy their meal. The pair deliver an extraordinary experience, creating an unforgettable evening for their guests.
