Well worth the visit for a special occasion or treat... you have to pay for quality so it’s not inexpensive ... we chose the entry level dishes but they were just as good...enjoy a cold beer or wine too

Sehr schlechtes Preis- Leistungsverhaltnis. Wir mussten lange warten bis unser Essen kam. Das Fleisch war so zäh, dass wir es nicht aufgegessen haben. Auf Kritik wurde überhaupt nicht eingegangen. Es gibt so tolle Restaurants in Lagos....dieses ist ein "no go". Für ein Klacks Ketchup extra mussten wir 1 Euro zusätzlich zahlen. Das ist schon frech!!!

Quite possibly the worst steak I've ever had. Ordered medium, arrived both well done AND rare (how does that happen?) when asked to replay e it they just cooked it more so arrived like shoe leather. Shame, as its a nice atmosphere a d the patron is friendly but just doesn't understand how to cook steaks

Amazing food. We aimed to go to the place next door, which had an long wait. This place sat us right away and I ended up being so thankful we went here instead because the steak was one of the best we had in Portugal!

Nice little restaurant in the centre of Lagos. Friendly staff. Modern and down to earth look and feel. Clean toilets.
The food was great, especially if you like a good peace of meat. Reasonable prices for downtown Lagos.

Très bon restaurant de viande qui change des restaurants traditionnels portugais. La planche mixte de 3 viandes rouges est un régal et la sauce moutarde miel aussi.
Prix correct. Acceuil et service agréable.

Super lækker mad, hurtig og god betjening. Hyggelig restaurant, dog med begrænset antal pladser, så kom i god tid eller bestil bord på forhånd. Jeg vil klart anbefale dette sted.

Just arrived in Lagos we were looking for someplace and walking through the fabulous narrow streets of the old town we came accross DON TORRO I ordered some soup and a sirloin steak medium well and it was served with perfection .My son had garlic mushrooms and ribs for main ,my wife had a chicken dish everything was perfect ,staff very friendly &courteous and @€62 including drinks fantasti value we will definitely b going back before we return home.
P;S Chips too die for thank you Don TORRO .

Location is great and staff is friendly, but they cannot do a steak properly. Rare is served as medium rare and medium rare is everything from medium to rare. For a steak house boasting to be the best steaks in town, it was not a great meal. One salad was served poorly washed, so we had to send it back to get rid of the insects.

This steak house knows how to do a good steak. Best so far on my trip. Cooked exactly how I like it. We got a free bottle of wine coz it was couples night. The staff really friendly. Will be back for more before the trip is over.

Friendly staff, amazing steaks
We had an outside table on a very warm evening for a delicious meal of beef. The staff are very friendly, happy in having a conversation with you.
Looking at the menu raised an issue with the House Wine at €7 for 1/2Lt or €14 for a bottle (75cl), it doesn’t take much more than 3 brain cells to work out that 2 x 1/2lt is the better value, if you like wine.
We had a salad starter, bread, water, 2 carafes of Vinho Tinto. My better half chose the special of a delicious perfectly cooked sirloin steak served with coleslaw, onion rings, fried sliced potatoes and pepper sauce for €14.
I chose the ‘Picanha’ (strips of cap of Rump) which was very tasty but a tad over cooked than the medium rare that I ordered, served with slaw and fried sliced potatoes. The potatoes are crispy hand cut with skins on and not at all greasy, much better than the usual chips or fries. The total of €57 ended a lovely meal.

Meraviglioso ristorante dove gustare ottima cucina locale. Trovato per caso abbiamo passato una serata molto piacevole. I prezzi sono ragionevoli. Consigliato.

Lækker mad og vine.
Bestilte en salat uden at kende størrelsen på den. Den kunne dække 2 personers behov for "grønt" til maden. Med andre ord ville det være en fordel hvis tilbehør er afbilledet eller beskrevet. Man ved ikke altid hvornår det er hensigtsmæssigt at spørge tjeneren.

One of the best Surf & Turf of ever. All was amazing, the meat very tender and cooked perfectly, the comfortable environment, the wine and the desserts. The staff is fantastic, always kind puts the customer at ease, an excellent five stars service from Verny and his collaborators. Highly recommended to eat serious meat in Lagos.

Don Toro is a great place to dine in Lagos. It’s a bit tucked away from the main strip so it’s a quieter environment, staff are friendly, and the food is excellent! Shoutout to the Guatemalan for excellent service!

Visited a few nights ago. Had the steak trio sharing platter which was ok but the fillet was tough and didn’t get eaten! The staff were not particularly friendly. Would not go again.

We ordered the plate with 3 different Steaks and got 3 tiny steaks of which we ate only two because the 3th was disgusting - even the others were not good at all. Cheap meat sold expensive. The service by an spanish speaking lady was very desinterested, though we were the only guests. Over all a bad experience - NOT TO REPEAT!

Best Steak in Alvor. Easy to miss this gem as it is slightly off the beaten track but well worth the visit. The staff are great and the food is superb, especially the steak.

Let’s start with a very bad presentation of our gin tonic (only Gordon gin, no other option). Starters very small. We waited 40 minutes for the hamburgers (the place was quite empty), not bad in quality but nothing special.
I would not recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant chaleureux et personnel très sympathique et accueillant.
La qualité de la viande se ressent visuellement et gustativement. Le Filet mignon cuit à point est un pure délice, la viande fond en bouche et est très agréable.
Conseille fortement si vous êtes de passage à Lagos.

Le restaurant est très confortable. La nourriture a été excellente de l’entrée au dessert.
C’était notre dernier soir à Lagos où l’offre de bons restaurants est très grande et variée.
Don Toro est parmi les meilleurs où nous avons mangé pendant notre séjour au Portugal: Porto, Lisbonne, Sintra, Cascais et Lagos.
Nous le recommandons aux amateurs de viandes. Végétariens s’abstenir! Bon Appétit!

Pesima Atencion. Fuimos a cenar, pedimos un couvert porque nuestro bebe de 9 meses estaba con mucha hambre, creyendo como es de costumbre gastronómica que lo traian junto con las bebidas, como tardaban demasiado le pedi al mozo si por favor me traia al menos un pancito para entretener a mi bebe. Me respondio de muy mala manera que antes debia atender otras mesas. La chica que estaba en la caja y los mozos todos mal educados. Comida pesima. Atencion de ultima. Si quieren comer buena vayan a otro lado porque la comida no lo vale.

Unfortunately I went as a single female for dinner and there were quite a few tables left but all set for 4 to 6 people and was told nothing available for 40 minutes. Fair enough but it was the way he was so unfriendly and not welcoming at all.

Wow! Came to Portugal for the fish which is great but ended up here by chance. Argentian steak reputation fully intact. Glorious steaks. Great service and the sangria is decent.

Somos españoles de vacaciones en Lagos a quienes nos apetecía cenar carne y debido a algunos comentarios del Tris advisor hemos ido allí, pero los hemos encontrado con que la camarera tan sólo habla inglés y tampoco se ha esforzado en entendernos ni en enviar a otro camarero q nos pudiera entender. HEMOS estado algo más de una hora hasta q nos han traído la cena q nos parece caro para lo q ofrecen.
En definitiva en Lagos hay muchas mejores opciones q este sitio

We had the garlic shrimps that were quite ok, ribs which just tasted like plain pork meat and the picanha that was ordered medium but came almost raw and was so chewy that I couldn't eat it.
I won't visit this place again.

Very poor just had a steak and not ribeye,asked for a portion of mushrooms and got 3,and asked for a full portion and got strong garlic,will not return and nachos plain and one dip very poor and cost 50euro and no wine disgusting and charged as a starter and very miserable service

Das schlimmste Restaurant. Wir (5 Personen) waren einmal dort. Das Essen war vergleichsweise gut (wenn auch Eiskalt). Wir sind also die Woche darauf, mit einer Reservierung an erster stelle, nochmal dorthin. An unserem Reservierten 5-Tisch saßen 2(!) Leute. Also war *natürlich* die Entscheidung des Managers UNS an einen anderen Tisch in die hinterletzte Ecke zu setzen, vollkommen berechtigt. Als wir dann noch komplett unbeachtet wurden, sind wir gegangen.

We had a large party of six people and ordered almost every appetizer. The appetizers were very average. Steaks were good and cooked as ordered but again nothing to rave about. The service was very good. We had wine and drinks. I think it's a little overpriced.

I've never seen so unprepared waiters and bad dealings with customers. The food took forever to be served and the request came completely changed. If you want to be well attended, this is not the place.
