Situé dans le petit port de pêche typique de Ferragudo, sur l'embouchure du fleuve Arade, ce restaurant que nous fréquentons régulièrement, offre un menu de spécialités Portugaises variées très bien cuisinées à des prix très convenables.
Il est possible de manger en terrasse sur la place, dans la ruelle devant le restaurant ou à l'intérieur dans une salle où l'on se sent vraiment au Portugal.
A ne pas manquer.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, sehr gute Speisen.

Très bonne adresse, cependant si vous ne demandez pas la carte du menu on vous donnera la carte traditionnelle avec tous les plats, certes, très bons mais + cher. Des voisins de tables habitués nous ont glissés l'info...bon accueil.

Had an enjoyable meal here, it's a nice restaurant inside and also has outdoor seating in a small but charming side alley.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Our food was tasty and fresh, I had one of the catch of the days; golden bream. It was grilled over the BBQ and had great flavour.

Nous avons eu la chance de déjeuner dans la petite ruelle pas très loin de Mario qui était au barbecue . Très bon accueil la brochette de lotte au bacon excellente. Calamars grillés très bon. Mention spéciale au cuisinier et au patron qui nous a offert une petite liqueur en fin de repas.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Bedienung sehr freundlich, doch leider ist es sehr teuer im vergleich zu anderen Restaurants in Portugal.
Den Mittagstisch kann ich sehr empfehlen, immer was anderes und zu angemessenen Preisen. Man sollte vorher reservieren ansonsten steht man möglicherweise bis zu 20 min rum. Gerne wieder für die Mittagstische, aber nur mit Reservierung.

Restaurante acolhedor, colaboradores muito simpáticos e atenciosos. As melhores cenouras algarvias de sempre! Os cheiros da comida que estão no ar dificultam a escolha porque tudo cheira e aparenta ser muito bom! Tem uma esplanada na praça muito agradável.

Service was polite but slow, despite only 3 tables being occupied. There was little enthusiasm for their roles from the staff. Food was tasty enough, but with no thought to presentation. Overpriced for a mediocre experience.

Been here more than once.
Located at the square of Ferragudo. Good food, nice staff. Lots of shadow. Very enjoyable.
Besides that, they have some nice very affordable menus (as off €14,50 !)
When I'm in the vincinity of Ferragudo, I'll surely would consider to go back here.

Leckeres Essen, besonders die Spieße. Wir waren dort insgesamt 5 mal essen und nie enttäuscht. Der Service ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Preise sind etwas höher als normal in Portugal aber im Rahmen. Es empfiehlt sich in der kleinen Gasse, neben dem Grill zu sitzen (m.E. gemütlicher als auf dem Marktplatz).

Die Vorspeisen kommen teilweise industriell abgepackt auf den Tisch.
Das Gemüse nur gegart, ohne Würze oder Soße serviert .

On est rentré ds cette ruelle... Et là, on tombe sur ce petit resto , si différent de ceux de la place devant : calme, à l'ombre, une carte simple mais très alléchante : grillades de poissons (mérou, perche, dorade,...) cataplana de poisson et/ou de crustacés.
Nous avons opté pour le cataplana de poisson et crustacés (un plat pour 2), un "ragoût" de poisson à l'étouffée. Servis GÉNÉREUSEMENT, on a pu se resservir une fois chacun. Comme le vin , au verre (c'est notre choix). Pour finir, une coupe de glace 2 boules et un café ☕. Le tout pour 34€ TTC avec amabilité, sourires, rapidité (mais pas pressés).
Je, nous recommandons vivement.

Le responsable de la terrasse avec un accent brésilien nous a refusé (4 personnes) fort désagréablement alors que nous étions prêt à attendre 45 minutes pour dîner. Le pire est que nous avons du nous rabattre chez l'horrible italien d'à côté et nous avons en plus constaté de de nombreuses tables étaient dispo au restaurant O Barril. Il est inadmissible de voir qu'au sud du portugal, les portugais sont moins bien acceptés que les anglais et autres allemands. Après avoir été de fidèles clients, nous ne reviendrons plus.

When going to the city centre of Ferragudo, it is not advised to go here. I should have read the reviews before going in. Sadly, I didn’t.
As more people said: a tourist trap. The maincourse at itself was okay, dry and cold but okay, but for the price nothing special. Starters were below average. Price-quality is not good. The most thing that worries is the grumpy service. There is one waiter, and I am sure you will spot him when you are there, who is grumpier than Grumpy from the seven dwarfs of Snow White. The other ones are less grumpy.
Not only to his colleagues, but even to customers. A crash course of customer friendliness or some kind of teambuilding course would be my advise. Speaking of ferry tales: You can use the bread for leaving it as a trail in the village, like Little Red Riding Hood did in the forest. Never had such old bread for this price. Leaving it for the seagulls would be a shame.

What a terrible experience... the food took ages and wasn't worth waiting for... the presentation of the prawns and avocado was something from the 70s and what's with the boiled egg and cherry on top,the orange was obviously added on the side to take you mind off the acute lack of prawns and over powering sauce , very poor. The main courses arrive and we our now going rapidly even further down hill. spaghetti Bolognese, REALLY..!!...on which planet..? well it was tinned mince, for those of you who might remember ...Tyne Brand...this will be a stroll down memory lane.. the key ingredients of tomato and some Mediterranean herbs were completely AWOL, In fact take out the spaghetti and put a pie lid on with some mash and peas and your on a winner.
The pork steak and mushroom sauce, tasted like Campbells mushroom soup and bugger all else on the plate.., no potato or veg apparently it's all extra.. as is the...bread.....olives and butter packs....we complained and just got ignored, still presented with the bill for 60 euro... shocking ... we have been here for 14 days and eaten in some right rough looking places but until today the food has been really good and in the rougher looking establishments basic but great this was a awful... perhaps if we had stuck to the grill menu cooked by the old boy outside in the alley it would have been ok.... to be fair the house red wine was lovely...but watch out for the cock roaches in the ladies ...!!!

Absoluut een afknapper! Na wat enthousiaste recensies gelezen te hebben, weken we af van onze 'vaste' Italiaan, maar wát een deceptie! Met zn vieren 3 verschillende gerechten gegeten en alle vier smakeloos of écht onsmakelijk. De onkunde en het onplezier van de kok stralen je werkelijk tegemoet. NIET DOEN als je van lekker en goed eten houdt!

Very average, pasta from dry, not fresh, with a mint leaves and orange slice on side ? hard cheese imitating parmesan, service poor no cutlery on table and waited 10 minutes for a bill after remind them as they forgotten. Chicken dish ok but dry with frozen chips €32 bill at end, not much but below average tourist trap with good location.

If you are in Ferragudo, you should not miss Restaurante O Barril offering Portuguese cuisine. This place is popular for its fish cuisine. Its located in a small back street just behind small Main Square with a view towards Portimao.
- Seating is possible in the Restaurant, or just outside or in the small square overlooking the nice view.
- Fado on Mondays at dinner time. (Please check for Fado timings if you are interested in one)
- Being a vegetarian, I ate vegetables and the Chef could improvise.
- Try the typical Portuguese cake with figs, almonds and Alfarroba.
- While paying bill, be treated to Almond & Fig liquor with some Sun dried Figs.
- Recommend a short walk to the Ferragudo Church, few steps above this Restaurant, apt for a walk after a nice dinner and a nice view of the Harbour and Portimao.

Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Freundliches Personal. Habe im Restaurant gegessen, wo es etwas stickig war, weil ich aus der Seitengasse kam uns erst später sah, dass es auch Tische im Freien auf dem großen Platz gibt.
Ich hatte Fischsuppe, Thunfisch nach Art der Algarve und weißen Hauswein. Davor Brot und Thunfischpaste. War sehr gut.

Cuisine portugaise intéressante, il y a possibilité de manger en terrasse ou alors juste dans la ruelle attenante au restaurant. Le personnel est agréable.
N’hésitez surtout pas, en plus ce n'est vraiment pas chère.
