When we booked the Spokes Villa, we really didn’t know what to expect but we couldn’t have been more pleased on arrival. Simon was waiting at the door with the kettle on and talked us through everything we needed to know about the villa, the local area, shopping, etc. He and Lesley couldn’t have been more helpful and we’re always on hand to help when we needed it. They also left us to get on with our holiday, which meant the perfect balance of having someone close by without being in your face. The villa was superb and very well kitted out for all our needs. The locals were so friendly and with the beach a short drive away, this was the best family holiday we’ve ever had.

In August this year my family and I rented Spokes Villa. My Dad has a high level spinal injury which leaves him Tetraplegic. It was our first family holiday since Dad's accident over 2 years ago. To say we were a little nervous was an understatement! Right from the word go from being collected by the Taxi that our wonderful host Simon Barron arranged for Dad we were put at ease. On arrival at Spokes Villa we were thrilled. A very warm welcome met us from Simon. The Villa is beautiful and the ground floor fully accessible for wheelchair use. Dad finally had some independence as he could steer his electric wheelchair around the Villa grounds. All rooms are spacious and were very clean on our arrival. The pool provided the best therapy for Dad, with transfer by hoist easily done. It was wonderful to see Dads Grandchildren spend quality time with him in the beautiful pool and many happy memories were made. There were 12 of us in total but the Villa is so spacious you wouldn't have known. Simon and wife Lesley couldn't have done enough. They were always on hand to help but never intrusive. This was very welcome and comforting to know we had support if needed. We will be back!!!

Just departing from our third holiday in Spokes Algarve. Once again all our requirements for our 23 year old son were fully met without fuss or bother. We were joined by friends as a group of 9 people. Everyone fully enjoyed the relaxed, tranquil, spacious and well equipped villa. The level of equipment and facilities for wheelchair users are excellent. Our son who cannot self support or transfer was easily able to access enjoy the pool and hot tub and all tables were of a height that he could roll under the in his chair. The bedrooms and wet rooms are fully equipped with hoist, change beds, and all you might need for the needs of even the most challenged guest. We look forward to returning soon. Had an amazing time staying at this beautiful villa in July this year. I stayed here with my disabled daughter along with my 2 other daughter's and 3 carers. The owner Simon and his wife Lesley really looked after us and are both lovely people and it was a pleasure to meet them both. The pool area is gorgeous with a hoisted pool and hot tub area allowing my daughter to enjoy and be safely transferred in and out of both areas. I would highly recommend a stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you so much Simon and Leslie for a wonderful stay at Spokes. We had 4 wheelchair users who were competing at the Hansa European Sailing Championships in Portimao along with partners and or carers. We even had a room for the team sailing coach! We had a wonderful time and were able to make maximum use of the pool and facilities when we weren't sailing getting two of our sailors into a swimming pool for the first time in 20 years. Thank you for all your help and advice when it came to dealing with our transportation issues and generally making our stay perfect.

We ve just returned from a weeks holiday at Spokes with 11 of us, 3 generations, 8 adults and 3 children. It was the first holiday for us all with my 28 yr old son who is C5 tetraplegic and in an electric wheelchair. To say I was anxious is an understatement, i just wanted it all to be perfect ... and it really didnt disappoint, it lived up to our expectations and much, much more. Simon and Lesley are perfect hosts, Simon contacted me before hand by phone and email to ensure all our requirements were met before arriving, everything from specialist equipment, mattresses, transfers from the airport even down to car seats for the 3 children. Simon and Lesley were there to meet us at the villa, explaining everything and showing us around even directing us to the local supermarket for shopping. The villa is simply stunning, combining all the equipment we needed with luxury, comfort and beautiful settings. The villa has been renovated to a high standard intergrating ramps etc in a beautifully subtle way where everything was accessable to Steve allowing him to join in and enjoy all activities with the rest of the family. He was able to access the heated pool and hot tub with easy and minimal fuss. The wet rooms and bedrooms were a great size and furnished beautifully. All 6 bedrooms had ensuites and their own balconies or terraces allowing everyone their own privicy. The grounds surrounding the villa are beautiful and very well maintained with quiet places, orange and lemon trees and absolutely fabulous outside eating area with BBQ. Simon was always on hand to help with local information, booking taxis and the use of the wheelchair accessible van was a massive bonus. All in all we all had a fabulous holiday making many, many amazing memories. I would 100% recommend this villa to anyone, disabled or not. I cannot put into words just what this holiday gave us. Spokes villa in the Algarve is quite simply the best wheelchair/disability’s holiday home available, visited in August 2019 after searching for a long time for somewhere that would suit my father in laws very complex needs and can honestly say this place is simply outstanding from the minute we arrived to the moment we left we did not have any problems the villa itself is simply stunning but the major factor in this holiday being completely stress free and so enjoyable is the help from Simon who is a true gentleman who I hold in the highest regard this guy is a absolute SUPERSTAR!! nothing is too much trouble and he will constantly go out of his way to make sure that everything is running smoothly, so a absolutely massive thank you to Simon and Lesley for making this holiday one of our most enjoyable holidays ever thank you so much from the christie family.

Spokes Villa is beautiful, spacious and clean. We have found it very difficult in the past to find suitable accommodation for my son who uses a wheelchair and requires a hoist to transfer etc. Simon and Lesley have thought of everything you could possibly need and were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The location is very private and peaceful and the music night at the local bar was good fun. Thank you so much Simon and Lesley for creating such a fantastic adapted holiday home!

Twelve members of our family (spanning three generations) have returned from a wonderful two-week stay at Spokes. We have rented villas in Portugal many times over the past 4 decades - it's our destination of choice. I can honestly say that this is the first holiday where we have ALL had full access to all areas of the villa and beautiful grounds; no 'lips' or ridges making it difficult for wheelchairs to get around. The bedrooms downstairs are not only elegantly furnished, but have excellent wetrooms/bathrooms and beds. The upstairs rooms are beautiful too! The grounds with the lovely pool are beautifully maintained by Lesley and Simon with plenty of lovely plants, trees and shrubs. The pool table, dartboard and table-tennis meant that all ages could enjoy spending time outside together. Special thanks go to Simon and Lesley who really did go the 'extra mile' to make our stay perfect. They were able to arrange, in advance, some of the extra aids/equipment that were needed and were on hand throughout the stay for any issues should they arise without being at all instrusive... the perfect balance!

O facto de ser uma casa adaptada não era uma necessidade para nós mas acabou por se tornar uma mais-valia pelo espaço disponibilizado. Quartos cuidados e grandes. O espaço exterior é muito agradável. O Simon e a Leslie são muito simpáticos (não falam português) e estão sempre disponíveis. A casa tem capacidade para 12 pessoas mas ficámos 14 sem problemas (pagámos 40 euros por pessoa extra por noite). Os nossos cães também adoraram e estiveram sempre soltos!

Our 11 year old daughter has multiple, complex needs due to profound brain injury at birth. She is totally dependent on others for every aspect of her life and a nurse / carer team looks after her every minute of every hour, 24 hours per day. After accepting compromises for years, whilst our daughter was younger and smaller, we decided we needed to find a luxury holiday destination suitable for the whole family whose facilities, service and management would reliably meet not just our daughters needs but also that of the team that look after her. From the first point of contact with Simon and Lesley at Spokes in 2013, in preparation for our 2014 summer holiday, it became clear that Spokes was perfect in every way. We found our experience of Spokes so positive in the summer that we returned for a further week in the October half term and we also booked our 2015 holiday too! First Accessible Holiday that delivered 100% My family including my 21 year old who son is is a wheelchair user who cannot weight bear or self transfer, visited this wonderful home for 10 days in June 2016. We have had some nightmares with locations in the past and therefore a new holiday destination is looked upon with some trepidation. We found the villa an absolute delight. All amenities were provided as promised by our wonderful hosts and they could not have been more helpful. My son was so happy that we booked to return in 2017 for a longer visit with extended family and friends. The entire party enjoyed the villa so much, we are all returning in 2018. The facilities on site for all the family both indoor and outdoor are spacious, well maintained and of a very high standard. We look forward to many more visits to Simon and Leslie and would recommend this location without reservation.
