This guesthouse is such a special place! The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, so tranquil and lush! The breakfast room is adorable. So fun wandering around the house and seeing all of the artifacts from all around the world as well. We found the location to be perfect for exploring both the area more west in the Algarve (7 hanging valleys trail, benagil) and east (Tavira, Faro) as it is pretty centrally located. The staff was absolutely wonderful as well, I cannot say enough good things! We had an issue with our arrival time and ended up getting in much later than expected, and the staff was so understanding and helpful. I would highly highly recommend this place!! Its a hidden gem!

Ein sehr schoenes, stilvolles Hotel mit parkaenlichem Grundstueck. Hervorradend gelegen an der N 125, der Ort Alcantarilha kann zu Fuss erreicht werden, Bars und Geschaefte in Reichweite. Das Hotel zeichnet sich durch seinen Park mit vielen Stilelementen aus. Kuenstlerisches Spirit wird hier gross geschrieben. Wer Ruhe sucht und stilvoll leben will ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Unfassbar schön wirklich ein wahrer Traum die Liebe zum Detail und der wunderschöne Garten machen das Urlaubsfeeling komplett kleines Manko man sollte ein Auto haben da der Strand etwas weiter weg ist jedoch besitzt dieses Hotel auch einen Pool an dem fühlt man sich ein bisschen wie ein König dank der Ausstattung kann ich nur weiterempfehlen das Hotelpersonal ist auch höchst freundlich und man fühlt sich definitiv umsorgt

Close the beach (5km away) the place looks like a big museum full of history ... it is in the middle of a farm with a big pool.

¤ Avis general : tres bon hotel, le rapport qualité prix est parfait. je recommande. ¤ l'hotel : entrée agreable, facile d accès, place de parking en suffisance, bien entretenu. peu de chambre (une vingtaine si je me trompe pas) ce qui rend un peu le sejour intime. il est tres grand, nous n avons pas eu d enfant lors de notre sejour. possibilité de prendre le petit dejeuner on a pu visiter l hotel, l ancienne maison et la chapelle. a voir.m ! le parking de l hotel est sécurisé le soir par un code. ¤ la piscine : Taille largement suffisante, bien exposée, il y a assez de transat, possibilité de se mettre au soleil ou a l ombre. petite cascade d eau de la piscine agreable. l eau est bien entretenue, pas trop chlorée comme on peut le voir dans certains hotel ou ca pique rien que de rentrer dans la piscine. ici c est parfait. ¤ les chambres : pour ma part, la mienne etait agreable, decoration spacieuse, niquel, tout fonctionnait. la literie etait de qualité, la salle de bain etait suffisante. il y avait du savon/gel douche et seche cheveux à disposition. ma terasse et la fenetre n etaient pas orienté au sud (parfait pour moi) ainsi fraicheur au matin et quand on rentre le soir, la chambre n est pasba 3000°C. l entrée du batiment des chambre est sécurisée le soir par un code également. ¤ le personnel : Nous avons bien été acceuilli et directement lors de notre arrivée, nous avons reçu des informations complètes de la regions. la réception n est pas ouverte 24h/24 mais le personnel reste disponible (autrement dit c est pareil) les femmes de menages passent tous les jours dans notre chambre et le nettoyage est niquel. les jardiniers ont toujours été polis avec nous. ¤ bemol : parfois difficile d avoir le wifi dand les chambre dommage pour les lit jumeaux pour un couple

Hotel molto bello per la categoria. La tranquillità che trasmette è veramente impagabile. Stanze grandi e fresche. La piscina è tranquilla e veramente rilassante. Colazione veramente top con prodotti locali.

Accueil très sympa. Lit très bruyant (le bois craque à chaque mouvement hyper désagréable). Salle de bain à revoir. Aucune tablette pour déposer sa vanity ou autre. 1 simple table basse dans la chambre. Parc très agréable. Petit déjeuner très correct. Réfrigérateur bruyant obligation de le débrancher la nuit. Virkelig hyggeligt hotel i en meget autentisk stil. Kapellet i den gamle hovedbygning er fra 1500-tallet og der er mulighed for at komme op og se det. Morgenmaden er virkelig god og der er et stort udvalg af pålæg, forskellige marmelader, müsli, brød, kager og masser frisk frugt og juice. Værelserne er også virkelig fine - det eneste minus er at man ikke har dobbeltseng. Man har også sin egen fine terrasse. Poolen er også virkelig lækker og der er fine liggestole og parasoller og pavilloner så man kan være i skygge

We spent 3 nights at this lovely place; the rooms are large and come with a nice terrace directly stepping into the garden/park (if you are on the ground floor). The breakfast offers many options and everything is good, from the home made jams to the different breads and fresh fruits. Julie was very friendly and helpful with local places recommendations and tips. The pool is a very relaxing area which we did not enjoy enough -actually this place is perfect if you want to spend a whole week in Algarve, taking your time. The only downside is they only have single beds -so you have to combine your beds if you want a king size :)

Stunning hotel. Set in the grounds of a 15th century olive farm, recently transformed to this beautiful hotel sympathetic to the grounds nestled amongst ancient olive trees. Peaceful and relaxing stay. Excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly and professional. A Moroccan feel to the decor just added to the quality. Pool area simply wonderful with chlorine free saltwater meticulously maintained. A small selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance. A mature clientele I wouldn't recommend for families with young children.

Where do I start and what do I say ..... the most amazing hotel, stayed for four days, so peaceful, with a wonderful pool area, all guest are respectful of others. It is an old olive farm and retains some of the original features that are within the gardens, the accommodation is surrounded by olive trees much older than you can imagine! Sadly no restaurant (the local Italian is superb for evening dining), breakfast at the hotel is not to be missed. Will be going back, I would recommend you visit if what you want is peace and tranquility.

Es ist sehr schön hier, es gibst einen sehr großen Pool und eine schöne Umgebung. Trozdessen hört man ständig die Autobahn nebenan des Hotels, sie stört und ist nervig auf Dauer, aber ansonsten gefällt es uns hier sehr gut.

wir waren ganz und gar zufrieden. Die Atmosphäre ist traumhaft und man fühlt sich gleich rundum wohl. Ganz besonders hervorzuheben ist das Frühstück - wir haben keine lockere Stimmung und freundlichere Bedienung sowie kein besserer Service bis jetzt gefunden. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Decent hotel, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. I stayed here in June and I thought the price was reasonable. Alcantarilha is a typical Algarve village, and nice to wonder around some of the streets. It’s pretty central, but you will need a car, as the town is small. Easy access to the national road EN125, 5-10 min drive from Zoomarine, AlgarveShopping and local beaches.

Perfect place to stay if you are looking for a great breakfast and peaceful environment. We highly recommend this magnifique hotel with excellent hosts!Laccueil a été particulièrement chaleureux à l’hôtel Capela das Artes. Les hôtes nous ont donné dexcellents conseils sur les lieux a voir dans la région. Nous navons pas pu profité de la piscine à cause du temps mais elle était magnifique et tiède. Le lieu était globalement très paisible et joliment décoré.Le petit-déjeuner était à la hauteur des commentaires que nous avions vus, il y a de tout (même des pastel de nata et du jus dorange frais) et en quantité amplement suffisante (à volonté...).Un très bel endroit que mon conjoint et moi recommandons à 100%.

Les + -bien situé si véhiculés pour visiter tout le sud -petit déjeuner copieux -belle piscine (mais pas chauffée) -gde chambre -calme et superbe parc -le ménage et entretien des chambres au top (lit au carré, serviettes propres) -belle terrasse -parking sur place gratuit Quelques points à améliorer: -des gds lits 2 places plutot que deux gds lits 1 place -le wifi ne fonctionne pas très bien dans les chambres -le rideau de douche reste une mauvaise idée dans un hôtel, il est trop long et traîne dans la baignoire, ça ne donne pas envie -insonorisation pas top mais on s’en accomode :) -on peut visiter la maison, c’est chouette mais il n’y a aucune indication donc on fait le tour en 3 minutes :(

Hotel Authentique et Charmant, en plein centre de l'Algarve

A unique experience! A bit like spending some overnight time in a well kept museum. But it was a nice place to be and if in the area again it is a hotel we would return to. The rooms were quirky but clean with old stile furniture and artefacts in room and around the area. Breakfast good. Staff friendly. Pool area magnificent.. All in all a real one off!

Para el precio que tiene esta muy bien, piscina de agua salada y recepcionista muy agradable y siempre intentando ayudar. Un jardín muy grande aunque no muy bien cuidado

Un sitio bonito y con encanto, aunque necesita mejor 3 cosas: Limpiar a fondo las juntas de la ducha, que están negras. Poder abrir la ventana sin necesidad estar expuesto a todo el que pase por el jardín. Y que la TV tenga algún canal en español

This hotel is a work in progress. ..charming and unique....but not a building site..lovely unheated pool. Wonderful as a base or for total casual relaxation.Currently only serves breakfast..huge continental spread..gorgeous. small fridge in room means you can keep food fresh if you go shopping and want lunch. A kettle might be nice.Traditional Portuguese solid buildings with beautiful Moriccan style lamps everywhere, lots of wrought iron and heavy wood, with many artefacts from other countries.Aldi is a few hundred yards walking distance in one direction and the tiny village with its lovely little restaurants a bit further away in the other. The streets are quite steep and cobbled. ....but we managed it even post hip surgery 5 months ago.You can always get a taxi...leave your car at the hitel!

This is an excellent hotel. Located just off Armacao De Pera, which allows it to be tranquil within its beautiful and peaceful Mediterranean gardens. It has a fantastic swimming pool within the garden areas. Breakfast is given within a beautifully furnished building. The bedrooms are located in a separate building which has been tastefully decorated with North African fittings and ornaments. Making this is one of my favourite hotels in the Algarve.

Such a lovely hotel with so many interesting pieces of decoration and furniture around. Pool area is lovely and there was never a problem getting a sunbed. The only downfall is that we ended up spending a lot on taxis into the town or beach and back again as there is Very little in that area. But the hotel was always perfectly peaceful.

Hotel edificado en edificio historico, sin lujos, habitacion simple pero amplia con agradable terraza con vistas al jardin, pero sobre todas las cosas enclavado en un espacio rodeado de extensos jardines.Si quieres huir de los hoteles masificados y buscar descanso despues de los viajes que hagas por el Algarve es el sitio ideal.Solo hecho en falta que en el desayuno-buffet no haya huevos revueltos, beicon, salchichas...Recomiendo !!!!

Los desayunos son muy variados, la atención personal muy buena, pero el precio es bastante elevado para la calidad de las habitaciones.

Un hotel acogedor y con una tranquilidad 100%..... Las habitaciones muy amplias al igual que el baño con bañera , bidé , no dispone de secador de pelo pero si te lo prestan en recepción; tv con usb , aire acondicionado nevera y caja de seguridad. Terraza muy amplia y con unas vistas al jardín y piscina. Personal muy atent@ ! Las piscinas muy agradables (agua salada) abierta 24hrs. , y un entorno rodeado de árboles qué dan mucho encanto. Parking propio y amplio ; después de las 22:00 hay que entrar por detrás del hotel ( te facilitan un código ) . Un desayuno buffet ( 09:00 a 11:00 ), wifi y un bar qué está abierto por las tardes. Las camas cómodas pero sería mejor una cama para parejas .

Loved this hotel. The main building has loads of character with lots of interesting bits on furniture to look at. The pool area was really clean. Lovely peaceful place to chill by the pool and soak up the sunshine. What topped it off for me was all the amazing olive trees in the grounds, truly beautiful! The breakfast was varied, lots of delicious things to fill you up for a day of exploring the algarve. Would stay here again!

Nice stay for being away from the hustle and bustle of most of the Algarve... Only a short ride to nice beaches. Hotel has a WONDERFUL breakfast. Large rooms. The beds and bedding leave something to be desired as they were not very comfortable.

Quite stay, plenty of space, beautiful rooms and garden full of centuries old olive trees. Alcantarilha is a charming village with a great case de pasto and a beautiful old church. Angel, the proprietor of the hotel, is warm and hospitable and willing to share his love of Portugal with guests.

I arrived late but someone had kindly waited for me for which I was really grateful. The room was large and spotlessly clean with a large balcony which got the sun the whole morning. WiFi was easy to connect and worked well. The room was really comfortable and the area so peaceful, that I slept really well. The pool was huge and always very clean - hardly anyone else used it during the time that I was there so it was like my own private pool.Joao was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great - fresh bread, fruit, orange juice and strong coffee (perfect!).I have travelled literally all over the world and stayed in many places of all standards - this was charming, clean and comfortable. Great value and I enjoyed my 6 night stay. I would happily return. I am not sure Galamand actually stayed in the same hotel as me as I dont recognise any similarity between their experience and mine!I did not see anywhere on the website that a bar was available so was not expecting one.

Main reception & dining part of this hotel is in a beautiful old Portuguese Manor House, approached via a grand drive & set in lovely grounds. The manager is excellent, with a very positive 'no problem' attitude & was always very helpful. Superb two level swimming pool, loved by my 2 children. 3 good places to eat within 5 minutes walk in the adjacent village. Much more choice within 10 minutes drive in neighbouring towns. Across the road is a very Handy Aldi supermarket & a huge & slightly surreal Chinese emporium selling quite literally everything. (They captured a significant portion of the children's pocket money! And supplied us with stuff for days by the pool). Rooms are in a modern 2 storey block separate & behind the main house. Clean, simple, air conditioned & well maintained. Quiet location but within minutes of Zoo marine, a smaller water park (Slide & splash is 20 mins by car), a large sand sculpture exhibition & the beach. Car advised for ease but not essential, people seemed to be using taxis or hire cars. Would recommend for couples or families. A great find. We will go back!

Es un hotel rural, pero de rural sólo tiene el nombre. La habitación es muy cómoda, con nevera, terraza y unos baños muy bonitos. La piscina es muy tranquila. Es lo mejor para descansar unos días lejos del ruido. Del desayuno lo mejor es el zumo de naranja. Por poner un pero, la tele es muy vieja, pero quien quiere ver tele en un lugar así.

Hôtel tres accueillant avec de belles chambres spacieuses et une belle piscine. Petit déjeuner excellent avec des oranges fraîches pressées. Un peu loin de la plage mais petit village avec de bons restaurants.

Great place, great people, with great attidude. We arrived early but not only the room was ready, we received 2 joint rooms for 4 of us (couple with 2 kids). Located 3 minutes walking from the village center and 5 minutes drive from the highway, Capela des Artes was easily accesible. My kids enjoyed the pool very much! Rooms were very comfortable. Good breakfast. In short - very recomended. Definitely will come back!

Fantastic Hotel in large grounds smattered with beautiful art work and Olive trees. The rooms are clean and comfy with balconies or terrace areas in three buildings 50 yards from the Main House. The Hotel has a large pool on 2 levels with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The staff are very friendly and helpful and serve a fine continental breakfast. The Hotel is 200 yards from the local village (Alcantarilha) which has 2 excellent restaurants and within 5-20 minutes of many spectacular beaches. This is a great Hotel to relax in but dont expect big screen tvs or Jacuzzis or the latest luxuries; I would highly recommend this hotel for couples and people who dont like the large resort hotels and want a great base to discover the Algarve.

We stayed at this hotel because of past surveys, location and price. The hotel is inside a gated fence; the 30 unit rooms a located in a separate building surrounded by olive trees and palm trees. The large room and bathroom was comfortable but had a small TV with just 1 English speaking station. We selected the upper floor, recommended, for its large, private balcony. The pool was large, very large with lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is a large, free parking lot on the grounds. This was the low season and the grounds were not kept up which ruined the ambiance; the pool bar, bar, and roof-top terrace was also closed. A large, modern supermarket was located across the street and 4 restaurants were a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. The beaches were an easy 10 minute drive away. This is a very nice, private and quiet hotel. Jaoa was very helpful and provided useful information. He placed a small refrigerator in our room along with extra pool towels. The main building (reception) is 500 yrs old and has art work, sculpture, and other works to view. Stay here.

Parfaite localisation: à la fois proche des plages et dune sortie autoroute. Endroit original (ancienne fabrique dhuile dolive) et très bien rénové. Très propre. Le propriétaire - qui parle un français impeccable - est sans doute tombé sous le charme - comme moi. Petit déjeuner copieux. Grande piscine. Quel joie de découvrir un endroit aussi calme que celui ci, à lopposé du tourisme de masse des alentours. Lieu à connaître et à faire connaître sans modération.

Fern ab vom Strand - leider in der Nähe der Autobahn, die im Sommer natürlich stark befahren ist, so dass im Hintergrund immer ein Rauschen zuhören ist - sonst wäre es der perfekte Ort für einen längeren Aufenthalt.Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, so dass man sich gleich wohl gefühlt hat. Großzügige Zimmer, eine sehr große und ruhige Pool-Landschaft mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen, ein mit Olivenbäumen angelegter Garten - alles sehr sauber, freundlich, hell und einladend.Als ruhesuchende Single-Reisende für ein paar Tage der beste Ort zum Abschalten, obgleich die Zimmer auch sehr hellhörig sind. Geräuschempfindliche Gäste mögen daher an ihre Grenzen geraten...

Dieses Haus ist einfach klasse. Eine familiäre Atmosphäre abseits von den Touristenhochburgen. Die Zimmer sind groß, sauber und schön eingerichtet. Der Pool passt hervorragend zur insgesamt sehr schön gestalteten Anlage. Aufgrund der geringen Zimmeranzahl ist es nie zu voll in der Anlage oder am Pool. Im Ort gibt es einige Möglichkeiten, um abends essen zu gehen. Liegt sehr zentral, wenn man Ausflüge (auch bis zur Westküste) unternehmen will.

We had a lovely stay in Sept 2011. Very friendly hospitality from host Oscar. Nothing was too much trouble. Great continental breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh warm bread. Quiet setting within walled premises - a nicely renovated former manor house, with additional modern rooms in separate purpose built buildings in the gardens. Lovely clean presentation, comfortable, balconies overlooking gardens, plenty of parking within the grounds and close to local amenities. Easy access from main road and only five minutes drive from main Algarve motorway which runs to Faro to the East & Atlantic Coast to the West, so easy to get to & from airport. Plenty of character. Very happy to recommend

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rural, it is situated in a small village close to the A22 and is easy to find. By car, it is only ten minutes away from the beach; we found that many of the nearby beaches have spectacular cliffs and are free of touristy attractions.Oscar is the host and he is very friendly and helpful, his English is very good too. He could tell us all the best places to visit, including the Aldi shop across the street! He also warned us of the places to avoid.The hotel rooms are separate from the mansion house and are situated towards the rear of the grounds, looking out onto the gardens and pool. Each room is like an apartment; en-suite and with a private patio (great for drying swimming costumes and towels). The room facilities are fairly basic, but the rooms are immaculately clean and also have good air conditioning. We found the hotel staff friendly and helpful.The gardens and pool are lovely; the olive trees and lawns are well kept and the pool is clean and safe. (A word of warning; do not use the room towels by the pool!) There are plenty of sun loungers, parasols and books to help you relax by the pool.The hotel serves a continental style breakfast every morning which comprises; fresh fruit, breads, cakes, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee.All in all, we found the hotel to have a very relaxing atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff in beautiful surroundings. We would certainly stay there again.

The hotel is an old Olive Farm which was bought as a ruin and renovated - beautifully! Even though its near a busy road its very peaceful and the grounds are lovely. If we go back to the Algarve will certainly revisit it.
