Mooi Restaurant op een nog mooiere locatie boven de kliffen. Als je op de promenade loopt vanaf de haven is het een van de eerste restaurants die je tegen komt. Eten en drinken is fantastisch. Geen toeristenval, er wordt fantastisch gekookt en de prijzen zijn beter dan 100 meter verder in het oude centrum.

Abbiamo cenato veramente bene. Il personale molto educato e gentile. Come si intuisce già dalla strada il locale è davvero carino e all'interno molto pulito. Una chicca rispetto ad i ristoranti di massa nel cuore di Albufeira. Ci tornerei sicuramente.

We had lunch here, Sunday. The place was busy on the terrace, but there was plenty of space indoors. Our food was well prepared and tasty. Staff were friendly and polite. We intend to return in the next few days for an evening meal. Good value, and great location.

Очень круто было обнаружить что весь персонал, сервис, блюда на высшем уровне! Как мы привыкли: санитарные нормы на 100000%! Это после не очень, ну вы сами понимаете, санитарных норм местных кафешек. Ну и, вы не представляете каким вкусным оказался стейк. Муж был а восторге! Конечно, самый лучший стейк в нашей жизни был в Бельгии во французском ресторанчике. Но этот - на твердом втором месте!!!

Aber Scherz bei Seite. Das Essen war ok, aber nur halb so gut, wie der tolle Ausblick. Wir haben dort unsere erste Cataplana überhaupt gegessen und waren zunächst vom Gericht recht enttäuscht. Als wir in einem anderen Lokal eine perfekte Cataplana bekamen, haben wir verstanden, dass das Gericht im O Penedo nicht korrekt zubereitet wird.
Ach ja, und die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung hielt sich in Grenzen.

nicht gut Kellnerin sprechen kein Portugiesisch. nur schlechtes Englisch essen war nichts besonders schlecht gewürzt. cataplana war sehr dürftig. haben uns übern Tisch gezogen gefühlt. einzig der Ausblick war gut. keib 2. besuch

Platos correctos, comida no muy elaborada. Un servicio muy atento. Demasiados gatos merodeando por debajo de las mesas, se puede comer tanto dentro como fuera. Si optas por la terraza disfrutarás de unas vistas espectaculares a la playa, al pueblo y al mar.

Only had a beer and tea so cannot comment about food. Staff were nice, attentive and friendly enough.
Not too expensive and the views are great of the coast.
Place is clean which is the best thing about most places in Albuferia and Portugal in general. I live their high standard of hygiene which some other EU countries are lacking.

Food was fine. Just don't get there expecting to enjoy a relaxing evening after 8.45 pm because they can't wait to get you out. Like vultures - ready poised to take your plates away away and close shop!!

Leuk restaurant met prachtig zeezicht en uitzicht op Albufeira. Goed eten voor een normale prijs. Even iets heel anders dan het centrum. Zeeduivel spies was erg lekker en net als de zeebaars. Ook voor de vleesliefhebber is bijvoorbeeld de entrecote een goede keuze.
Tip: neem als afsluiter een amandel likeur.

My husband has been vomiting fornthe past 4 hours after having the chicken dish here at lunch time. I had sardines that weren't cleaned out Holiday ruined for my husband. Disgusting.

Simpatia e bom gosto, gente jovem de uma cortesia inigualável.

Preços acessiveis, e, ao que viémos, bom.....................
Surpresa das surpresas, quando chegámos ao local, numa tentativa de fuga á confusão do centro, escolhemo-lo pela localização com uma paisagem desafogado sobre o Oceano e a maravilhosa costa.
Hummmmmmm,
sem reserva, bem, tivemos que nos sujeitar á localização que nos deram, ainda por cima Nativos.
Vamos lá para o meio da sala.
Entradas, um pão com alho e queijo, pena ser em paposseco, meu rico pão regional, que difetença positiva fazia nesta iguaria.
Fomos pela cerveja, nada de anormal até aqui, o preço um bocado puxado uma Imperial 1,75 €, pelo que vimos normal no Al garbe.
Analizada a carta, acessivél de conteúdos no que a € diz respeito, para este sítio muito bom, e, bastante variada quanto a pratos.
Escolhidos o bife de atum, de cebolada com batata cozida, tradicional.
Muito bom, Gostei.
E, o Cordom bleu, muito bom de tamanho, bem confecionado, pena um bocado passado em demasia nos bordos, mas, para ficar passado no meio, estaria no ponto.
Não optámos pela carta de sobremesas para ir comer um gelado noutro local, mas, pelo que analizámos, tinha boas e variadas sugestões, mas, já haviamos combinado a mudança de ares.
Por nós , 5 * sem favor, aconselhamos, e,

Overall I thought this restaurant was a pretty nice place to visit. It is up on the Cliffside overlooking the ocean, in an area that is quiet and away from the boisterous bar scene. In terms of service, while I would say they are not the typical friendly wait staff you'd get at other Portuguese restaurants, they are efficient. Other reviews I've read have complained about the service, but because of the popularity of the views they are constantly bombarded with people trying to get better tables. Foodwise, the food is delicious. It isn't the best food we've had, but I wouldn't complain either. My husband had the seafood rice. The only issue I had with it was it contained fake crab meat (which was weird because there was also real crab meat). I had a steak that came in a garlic sauce and potatoes au gratin and it was really good. We had a 1/2 bottle of rose, we each had dessert and coffee and the meal came to 52€. Not bad considering the amount of food and the view.

View is amazing but the food and service was poor got sardines they wernt cleaned out still had inards in them which ruined them 2 small boiled potatoes came with it and a salad my wife got tuna salad which she didn't finish either.Go for a drink and the view but skip this for dinner

We visited this restaurant many times during our stay as it was close to our hotel. The food is good quality and very reasonably priced. The views of the sea are incredible no matter where you sit. Hit and miss on friendliness of staff.

Todo perfecto: vistas, terraza, tranquilidad y la comida. PERO.. al lado de la terraza exterior hay una colonia de gatos que por una "casualidad" de la vida la verja de la terraza está rota y no muy bien adaptada y los gatos andan a sus anchas por la terraza mientras estas disfrutando de tu comida/cena.(no recomendable para el que no es amante de los animales, mejor comer dentro). Por otra parte te ofrecen el pan con la mantequilla, queso, pate de sardina y unas apetecibles aceitunas, todo muy bien hasta que llega la cuenta y ves que por un aperitivo que tranquilamente pueden cobrarte desde 5-8 euros, te meten en cuenta 16,40 € (foto de la cuenta) de más prácticamente por la cara ( en otros sitios también lo ofertan pero por un precio razonable como dije antes). Un feo gesto que hace que este restaurante pierda todo lo que gana por otro lado. Una pena, no volvería a repetir.

Buen restaurante, personal muy educado, las vistas son preciosas. La comida muy buena (sobre todo el bacalao), lejos del bullicio y muy cerca del centro.
Lo único que quizás no me gustó fue el mobiliario, puesto que es un sitio muy bonito y no queda bien las mesas y sillas de plástico. La orientación en la que ponen las mesas tampoco es muy adecuada, ya que si uno se sienta de espaldas se pierde las vistas.

Was out for a walk yesterday evening saw a sign in window saying enjoy a drink on terrace and enjoy views but when I went in i was met with a look from a waitress who looked annoyed at another customer I looked out on terrace which was about half full asked if OK to have a drink and was answered with for half an hour only.... Well with that treatment and attitude I'm sure it will not be long till no one will want a drink there ,avoid

This is our favourite restaurant close to the old town Albufeira. It has probably the best view in Albufeira, overlooking the Fisherman's beach and views all the way towards Faro. The food and service are excellent too.

Was greeted at an empty restaurant with a negative attitude. We asked to sit in shade.. she told us that we couldn't sit there because there bc there were plates of the table.. we went to Iguana cafe next door and was greeted with kindness and ended up spending 75€ ..now I guess I know why Openedo was empty.. pass for us..July7.. 545pm

El sitio está bien, comer en su terraza con buenas vistas al mar. La comida para mi gusto tanto el arroz como la cataplana daban demasiado gusto a cilantro, el tiramisu demasiado bañado en brandy, el bizcocho lo apretabas un poco y salía brandy por todos lados. Fuimos en pareja y nos costó 47 euros con postre. Ubicación ideal, la comida muy mejorable y se nota que pagas por el lugar.

Fantastic views and the location is brilliant. Very friendly and helpful staff, food is really good and at a very reasonable price. The local cats were not intrusive, there is a rescue place near by. They were very cute and just laid in the sun.

We decided to stop there for a quick lunch before hit the road off to the airport. First we saw the site, nice view on to the beach, sound it great.
Then our waitress came. No smile, not articulating when talking, at this point we're not feeling welcomed. We ordered some wine to start with, she served us but she spilled some wine on the table. No "sorry", no "oops let me clean up this" NOTHING.
Some other customers arrived in the meantime.
Same thing, no smile, little communication. At this point we knew that wasn't just because of us. And we started to observe all the staff. The only approachable person was a blond young man. All other staff were miserable.
The food was good.
I left €2 tips by principal but this waitress did not deserve it.
When we paid and left she look at us and said "cao" we could not wait to get out of there.
Such a shame that this owner employed people like that because this is a nice restaurant in the good location.
My partner and I do travel a lot, we also understand that language barrier could trigger a all experience. But we're both in customer service and we know that smiling coast €0,£0,¥0,$0 you do not need training for smiling to customers.
Unfortunately we do not recommend this place.

Tolles Restaurant. Von der Terrasse kann man auf den tollen Strand schauen. Mega.
Zudem kann man dort richtig leckeren frischen Orangensaft trinken. Der Sangria ist auch lecker.

Das Essen ist nicht gut. Was dort als provenzalisches Gemüse serviert wurde, hat keinen Geschmack und das portugiesische Kaninchen ist einfach nur gekocht und nicht geschmort und schmeckt fade . Immerhin nahmen sie das erste Gericht zurück.

Before I’d even had a chance to look at the menu the waitress came with a basket of bread and seemed offended when I said no thank you!!Nobody asked if my meal was ok or if I’d like anything else and they couldn’t wait to clear my plate away. The only pleasant person was the guy behind the bar who brought my drink to the table. It’s a NO from me...

Great Services, great if you want shell fish with a view when you in Portugal, be sure you get seats outside balcony, over looking toward the old town, if you there in the afternoon there's light snacks available. Had clams starter and Monk fish kebab for main dish, lush, cooked perfectly. ♥️

Les plats sont délicieux. Nous y avons manger de la dorade et moi de la morue grillée (bacalao maison) un délice !!!!!!!!! Suivi d une mousse au chocolat délicieuse. Cela fait plusieurs fois que nous y mangeons, c est une adresse à connaitre.

Déception. Dîner sur la terrasse. Cadre très sympa MAIS le personnel est froid et désagréable. La mauvaise ambiance de l'équipe se respire à plein poumon! Il y avait peu de monde à l heure à laquelle nous sommes arrivés. A peine terminé 3 personnes débarrassent nos 3 couverts en quelques secondes sans un mot sans un regard. Ça ne donne pas envie de poursuivre sur un dessert. Plats corrects pas copieux.

Personnel peu aimable et pas souriant. 4 serveurs lors de notre venue avec peu de monde et ils ont quand même réussi à oublier des commandes. Témoin d'une mise au point entre le patron et une des serveuses puis les serveuses qui discutent entre elles devant les clients. Pas professionnel. Nous avons pris des sandwichs, rien d'exceptionnel. Lecker Essen. Man muss früh da sein, dann bekommt man auch Platz. Ich hatte Schwertfisch war sehr gut. Schweizerisch hat in etwa die Konsistenz wie Fleisch. Meine Frau hatte Lammfilets. Sie fand es lecker.

Der Ausblick auf die Bucht von Albufeira ist natürlich super!! Leider hat der Service uns (mit einer Ausnahme) etwas enttäuscht. Irgendwie war alles sehr lieblos. Das Essen war okay - nicht mehr, nicht weniger. Insgesamt könnte man aus dem O Penedo so viel mehr machen.

Estuvimos cenando 2 veces. Llegamos de casualidad la primera vez y nos gustó mucho. Sitio tranquilo, vistas muy buenas, trato excelente.
La cena la primera vez que fuimos nos gustó mucho. Pedimos pescado del día, lubina a la brasa con guarnición de verduras. Espectacular. Ensalada atlántica y un vino blanco muy bueno . 38 euros la pareja.
Volvimos una segunda vez , y el trato y demás, igual de bien, pero la comida dejo que desear... Pedimos el plato típico que recomiendan, cataplana, que se supone que es Pescafo y marisco en un caldo de verdura. Verdura y caldo si había, pero.pescado y marisco, poco. Además el sabor no era bueno.
Pedimos gambas salteadas picantes con guarnición de arroz, tb recomendado en el día. Y arroz si había, picar, picaba, pero las gambas había que buscarlas, ... Escasas. En su lugar, había verdura. El sabor estaba bueno .
Botella de vino. 2 menús infantiles de barritas de merluza (pocas,) y patatas fritas de bolsa, todo 60 euros.
El trato genial, pero esta última vez respecto a la comida, deja mucho que desear. Mucho arroz, mucha verdura y poco pescado y marisco, que es de lo que tratan los platos que pides.

Estívemos hoje para almoçar,cheguei comprimentei a pessoa na entrada e ela apenas mostrou com a mão que deveríamos nos direcionar para a parte de trás do restaurante,quando lá chegamos comprimentei a funcionária de mesa e ela não respondeu,fez cara feia e saiu.Nos sentamos pensamos bem,nos levantamos e saímos sem dizer nada,pois a essa altura meu humor despencou,pois há muitos outros restaurantes em Albufeira onde até agora fomos muito bem tratados.

Amazing views & great for a drink. Food presentation interesting & some of it tasted ok. Salad was nice. Tuna toastie was pretty awful. Sardines Untrimmed & well you know.... Staff ok without any smiles or any feeling of wanting to be there. So, so, so much potential but empty at 1pm. Without sounding like a t**t if you like the food here you don’t know much about food.

Wir waren 3 mal in 8 Tagen zum Essen dort und wurden nie enttäuscht.
Normale Preise und wirklich sehr gutes Essen.
Nur das freundliche Personal sollte mal das Lächeln üben.

First off, let me say that I frequent this place every year when I visit, but this one visit has ensured I won't visit again.
5 of us arrived just about 10pm (as it closes at 11pm), we'd arranged our night around this visit as it's on the way back to our villa.
The man who greeted us, arms crossed, simply said 'we're closed'.
After mentioning about the closing time of 11pm, the man used a number of phrases such as "we close when we want", "we close if we don't have clients" (there was another group of 6 sat down in front of us), "You looked at summer opening hours, not out of season"
I can understand if someone is apologetic, maybe that because of slow service the kitchens are closing, but this waiter could not even offer the basic courtesy of an apologetic response. Instead he was rude and disengaging.
I thought in the low season, having customers is a good thing!
After telling friends this was a nice place with a view, I will now be saying to avoid it due to the rude staff member.
Amazing how one experience can change your viewpoint.
After looking at other reviews, seems to be a trend of rude service.
There's plenty of other lovely restaurants that I'd choose over this, and I had excellent service, and amazing food, from Restaraunte Casanova in replace of this.

De los mejores restaurantes portugueses en los que hemos estado. Tiene una carta que no es grande, pero está representado lo mejor de la cocina del sur de Portugal. El precio no es bajo, pero hay que tener en cuenta que es zona turística. A todo esto hay que añadir que las vistas son impresionantes y la atención es buena. Ahh!! Y baños limpios.

Great place to eat something and rest a bit. It has indoor and outdoor seating. View at the beach. Menu is quite big so there is something for everyone.

Nourriture très bonne bon rapport qualité prix et une vue resplendissante sur la baie au couché de soleil! A faire. Seul bémol les serveurs qui ont perdu leur sourire et qui ne vous écoute pas trop quand vous avez besoin. Mais cadre magnifique à faire.

Die Aussicht ist wunderschön und das Personal auch sehr nett! Das Essen ist sagen wir mal "ok". Es sieht sehr nett angerichtet aus, aber schmeckt durchschnittlich. Die Fischgerichte schmecken nicht sehr authentisch, wie man es sonst an der Algave gewohnt ist.
Fazit: um satt zu werden ist es ok, aber kein kulinarisches Highlight.

I thought I would try the salted cod bras style. Not good I'm afraid. Funny thing is I went to aldi this evening and saw a frozen ready meal which looked exactly the same. I'm pretty sure that's what they used. Nuggets were poor in children's meal. Salads were good though and views were great. It looks like other people have had a similar experience to me. It's a shame as it could be a great place with the right chef / management. I would have expected not to be charged for my meal as the waiter took it away after seeing I left it and asked why I didn't like it

Ementa com muita variedade, os pratos pedidos (bife de atum e cataplana algarvia) foram bem servidos e apetitosos, staff muito simpático e prestável. O preço é adequado e a vista é deslumbrante. Recomendo!!!

No es un buen sitio.
Muy caro y muy mala la atencion nos fuimos sin comer postre ya que paso cuarenta minutios y no nos lo ofrecieron nos quisieron cobrar 7€ de mas menos mal que estubimos atentos.
Todos los productos que usasn son congelados las almejas del lidel los camarones o penedo congelados y malisimos sitio no recmendable

All front and no substance. Lovely location but thats about all. Waiter took drinks and food order then forgot too bring our drinks order. Mains a long wait,was busy though.when they came mine was major let down. Sirloin steak thin some fries and about 6 carrots for "mixed veg" no comdiments at all till.asked again. Then same waiter brought mains for next table. Ordered lamb got duck breast ,was told he had ordered it. We intervened as we had heard his original order. To sum up. Trying to serve too many people at once too quickly! Nice location!

We asked earlier in the day about booking a table and was advised by the manager to walk in. We did so and were greeted by an angry manager who spoke very rudely and abruptly to my wife as we hadn't booked. As we walked out the manager was very verbally aggressive again.

Whats better than having a great view down on the beach from on top of the cliffs while having delicious food on the table as diner. Friends of me who visit this place every single year recommended me to visit this place. So we did and we didn't regret that! I would say if you are in the neighborhood, take a visit and try out the delicious cataplana!

Tough 1. Would of given 4 maybe 5 but a starters should not be a tin of pate. However the mains more than made up for it. If they had made a bigger effort on the starters then easy 4

Didn't like the tuna steak, because it had the scales. The waiter told me that's how it is supposed to be. Fine. I'm going to become vegetarian anyway :D
What I didn't like was that the manager came to us and asked me to tell him why didn't I finish the dish. I had to explain it again, he the told that that's how the dish is supposed to be served. I don't mind, I just didn't like it. Embarrassing.

Affreux.
Des ruses, qui ne comprennent pas le Portugais. Tres cher pour les plats proposes. Mon fils de 8 ans avez encore faim alors que nous avions pris un plat d'adulte. Heureusement et apres avoir rale, nous avons pu avoir une assiette de frite en rab. Les plats ne sont ni typiques ni cuisines.
En y allant vous paierez la vu....

Ask the waiter what's not frozen before you order. I had the gorgonzola chicken and she had the mushroom chicken pasta. Best meal we have had in Portugal in 2 weeks. Also great view and completely reasonable pricing. Bravo.

Great place to eat for the view alone if you can nab a table right on the edge of the terrace. We have had a lunch and a dinner here. They do a particularly good jug of sangria. Food was very good for both portion size and for quality. Good size menu with plenty of international favourites but also plenty of portugese specialities. Our favourite restaurant in Albufeira.

Super Restaurant, toller Ausblick, schönes Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen, nur leider Bedienung sehr genervt & gestresst und es war nicht mal voll. Trotzdem es lohnt sich!
