Unbeatable quality vs. price relationship! The location (hunters association) is magically set in the Algarve mountain! You can hear the roosters around and smell the delightful sense coming from the mountains! Chef Marcia is amazing. Our favorite dish are the local lamb chops with the mint sauce! The familiar team is of extraordinary sympathy.

Marcia is a wonderfully talented and friendly chef that uses locally produced ingredients. There is no such thing as a bad choice out of the menu (my favorite are the grilled lamb chops, with a freshly made mint base sauce on the side), but the really outstanding gems are the plates that you must order in advance (at least 24 hours in advance) - for example, pork meat with sea clams, seafood risotto, or any wild meat caught by the local hunters. Lastly, the deserts are wonderful too and made by other local experts. Anything with alfarroba (locust bean) or almonds is a delight you will not easily find elsewhere. This is a traditional family run establishment (located inside the building of the local hunters association) in the middle of the east algarve mountain - the locality is called Estorninhos (and this is the only restaurant there). The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful (and the road trip there too). A tip for foreigners: if you are in a hurry to ask for something, just get up and find the very friendly waiter (usually Marcia's husband) - this is not the Ritz, as you will notice in the prices.

A fabulous hidden gem of a restaurant in a beautiful, remote location of the Algarve hills. Outstanding value and food. Loved the sea bass and bream, cooked to perfection by Marcia, who manages to be both a wonderful host and chef.

Altijd goed behandeld, en over het eten niets te klagen. Ook in Oreitiro Do Fas Fato is het goed toeven.

La terrasse est agréable, mais ça s'arrête là. Une heure d'attente pour une collette de porc mal cuite, et dure. Plus cher que la plupart des restaurants dans la région.

Foi numa noite quente no final de Agosto que visitamos esta associação. Jantamos na rua, a comida estava muito boa, muito saborosa e bem confecionada. O pessoal era simpático qb. O problema é que apesar de termos escolhido o que queríamos jantar e reservado mesa, esperamos quase 1 hora para sermos servidos. A paisagem neste local é deslumbrante, e passa-se uma noite bem agradável.

If any restaurant gets 5 stars, this is it. A hidden gem is the word for this place. Fantastic food with a menu that was not equaled by any other Algarve restaurants, and ridiculously affordable, best ever !

This is a great place to savour local fresh authentic Portuguese hospitality. The food is hearty and robust. The menu changes daily to suit the seasons and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Local wines are available and very affordable. Good, honest local produce delivered in a clean, bright and unpretentious environment. The lamb stew is fantastic!

Well cooked "Prato do Dia". Value for money. We come back. Sunday is a very busy day in the restaurant owing to the weekly gathering of the hunters.
