Ein toller Überblick über die Stadt! Was Michelangelo erfunden hat machen heute Dronen. Man kann die ganze Stadt von oben sehen. Der sympathische Kamera Führer ist vielsprachig und beliebt zu scherzen. Ein schöner Moment wenn auch etwas kurz, mit Kinder unbedingt empfehlenswert! Wenn diesen denn verständnisvoll (Alter) genug sind.

Worth a visit for the novelty value alone, stunning real time views around the town. Informative and humourous talk given by the host makes for an interesting experience.
WARNING! If you think your roof terrace/balcony is completely private it may just be worth paying a visit here first.

Le procédé est très impressionnant : pouvoir en direct voir n'importe quel point de la ville a quelque chose de magique.
Mais ce qui fait le sel de cette "attraction", c'est la personne qui présente. Une sorte de gentil savant fou plein d'humour et de tendresse pour sa ville d'adoption.
Un très très bon moment.

C'est par hasard en déambulant dans les ruelles que nous sommes tombés sur cette attraction touristique. Le concept est génial, depuis le haut du château d'eau on peut découvrir la ville de Tavira et les environs grâce à des miroirs et des optiques. Le guide parle plusieurs langues. Il donne des indications intéressantes et pratiques. La visite qui convient également aux enfants, est ludique et ponctuée de notes d'humour. Le tarif du billet d'entrée n'est pas cher. C'est une expérience sympa à faire.

4 € für 5min. Danach wird man quasi rausgeschmissen. Es ist toll wenn man das noch nie gesehen hat. Aber es gibt nicht wirklich Infos, und Fragen stellen kann man auch nicht.

Entgegen der sonst veröffentlichen Öffnungszeiten, war die Sehenswürdigkeit an unserem Wochenend Besuch Samstag und Sonntag geschlossen! Die Enttäuschung war gross, da wir schon einiges davon gelesen haben .

For 4 euros, its definitely an unique experience. You get great views on the way up (took the stairs, lift wasn't working). Once inside it's a bit strange. There's an empty bowl but the lights go out and theres a camera projecting a live image on Tavira. Our guide, showed us all the parts of the village and shared some interesting history. She spoke English and Spanish to cater for all. Only 4 stars because it was over very quickly and we didn't get the chance to ask questions!

Feines Highlight bei der Erkundung von Tavira, untergebracht in einem ehemaligen Wasserturm. Bei charmanter Führung erhält man einen guten Überblick über die Stadt. Leider schließt die Sehenswürdigkeit mit 17 Uhr schon sehr früh. Unweit von hier befindet sich ein kostenloser Parkplatz.

Never been to a camera obscura so had no idea what to expect. Turned out to be really interesting and more like a tour of the city than a child’s attraction. The actual implement is rickety and old but that’s all part of the charm. The lay operating it knew absolutely everything about Tavira and gave us so many tips she more or less set our itinerary for he rest of the trip. Very cheap too!

Wirklich cool. Man steht in dem alten Wasserturm und schaut in echt um die Stadt herum. Habe so etwas noch nirgends vorher gesehen. Sehr nette Rundführung.

Definitely felt like it was worth the €5 per adult for the tour! Our (English language) guide was great & knows the town so well, it’s a perfect way to get an idea of how you want to spend your time there!
But also a bit about the history of the town.
It’s not like a regular digital camera - because it’s using a lens & mirror the “resolution” is like nothing you’ve ever seen before!
Would 100% definitely recommend as one of the first things you do in Tavira, maybe just after cooling down with an ice cream nearby!

Lieux intéressant et ludique, le guide parle plusieurs langues, toutefois les explications en français sont très brèves par rapport à celles données en anglais et en allemand. On approchait de 15h, heure de fermeture et on sentait qu'il avait très hâte de partir...5€ par adulte ça fait un peu cher

A fun and interesting to way to see the beautiful town of Tavira. Especially fun for kids see the outside projected on the inside, its like magic! 5 euro to get in.

The Camera Obscura is a lovely novelty treat to see on any holiday, A fantastic unique birds eye panoramic view of Tavera can be seen.
There is plenty of room to stand or sit while you wait for the guide to start the tour in the shaded waiting area.

Nette Idee, in einen alten Wasserturm eine Camera Obscura einzubauen. Das Bild wird auf eine konkave weiße Oberfläche projiziert und von einem Guide witzig erklärt.

A lovely, however a bit short tour in an old water tank. They basically created a camera device to display Tavira city onto a spheric surface. The guide was nice and told some interesting facts about Tavira city. A bit pricy for what you get (€4 per ticket), knowing that in Edinburgh there is the best camera obscura in Europe for £16, however on top of that there are 6 floors of various expositions, which I found a lot more interesting.

It's an old water tower as I saw it. Thought camera obscura was the first camera devices? Might have misunderstood. Like in Portugal, camera means chamber. Maybe chamber for water?

Brilliant experience and well worth a visit. The guides are fluent in English and Portuguese and can also explain a lot about the area etc. in French, Spanish and German. And this was just from our tour! An experience that could not be had elsewhere.

We visited while on a short visit to Tavira, and it gave us an excellent overview of the town. The young lady, who guided us was an excellent host and we really enjoyed the experience she gave.

Well worth a visit, very interesting to see what's going on all around you. It's well priced and doesn't take very long. €10 for a family of 4 and €2 for a child under 12.

Camera obscura build 13 years ago by some british engineer in an old water tower.It 's a little magical spot. Suprising and interesting (english guide). There's a small lift. And stairs to catch a 360 view. Worth visiting.

Stadtführung mal anders aufgezogen. Ohne dass man bei brütender Hitze kilometerweit durch die Stadt laufen muss kriegt man im alten Wasserturm durch eine Linse alles wichtige live projiziert und auch gleich in English oder Portugiesisch erklärt.

Ideia engraçada apesar de estar mal publicitada a nível das placas informativas da cidade visto que apesar de frequentemente ir a Tavira só por casualidade de ter estado hospedado na Pousada e está estar próxima soube da sua existência visto estar localizada num antigo depósito de água. Deveria ser indicado no Turismo como o primeiro lugar a visitar para ficar com uma visão de 360 graus da cidade e depois poder explorar a mesma em condições

In delightful Tavira, a climb into the old water tower to see the outside world projected on to a curved dish (live), brings the room to life. Friendly informative staff and a focus on the city and its surroundings make this visit at €10 a family a must! (Individually, €4 an adult.)
