Fabulous house - beautifully restored without loosing the 18th century feel. Great district - unspoiled and not commercialised yet. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea.

the concept for the place is that you are staying over at an art collectors house and it really feels like it. the walls are full of beautiful azulejos and art. there are only a few rooms rented and it does not have the feel of a typical hotel. they do clean daily and they have a coffee maker in the shared kitchen. but there is no staff on duty all the time. some will like it, some wont. really depends on your taste.

If you have already discovered Lisbon and got mesmerized with its beauty but yet have not visited Casa dell’Arte in Campo de Santa Clara, you do not know what you are missing and in fact your visit to Lisbon is not complete . Built in the 18th century and adorned with spectacular tiles, this is certainly the city’s one of the most memorable building and rightfully gets chosen as one of the most beautiful facade of Lisbon every year. Renovated with great care, refinement and respect for its original character by its Turkish investor, entrepreneur Ahu Buyukkusoglu Serter, it is a major gift to the city of Lisbon to save this building and open it to public as a boutique hotel but also an art gallery. The international art collection inside is precious and well chosen and represents a rich variety from Turkish to Portuguese and many other international artists. Spectacular light beams stream into the historical rooms and the view from the windows looks out on some spectacular city scenes. It has three rooms. Private chefs cook on special occasions. It reminds me the same concept of Italian opera/movie director Franco Zefirelli’s house turned into chic boutique hotel Villa in Tre Ville in Positano or another movie director Francis Ford Coppola family house turned into boutique hotel Villa Bernalda near Matera Italy. The city’s oldest flea market Feira de Ladra convenes every Saturday and Tuesday in that area and located between Alfama and Graca, you could not feel the city any better than this location.

I was in Lisbon for the London Cats cat show in the Mercado right across from Casa dell'Arte Club House. Not only was the hotel very convenient but the staff helped carry things to the show hall and could not have been more friendly and pleasant. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with fine antiques and our room had a grand view across the estuary. Our stay was perfect, it was like staying in our own home! Next time I am in Lisbon I will definitely stay at Casa dell'Arte!

Casa de Art is like staying overnight in your own personal home and art gallery. For that reason, dont expect it to be like a traditional hotel set up, which is what makes the experience so unique..you are in a beautifully restored home. The bed was super comfortable and the setting was beautiful, great location right by the old church.

From the moment my husband (then boyfriend) and I stumbled across this amazing hotel last spring, we knew it had to be our base during our destination wedding in Lisbon this summer. This in itself is impressive, for while I'm a fan of luxury hotels, my husband prefers a homier experience. Casa dell'Arte manages to combine the best of both worlds. Situated in an iconic, 18th-century mansion on the charming Campo de Santa Clara, the hotel combines original, period design with an impressive contemporary art collection and an elegant Turkish twist. From the graciously appointed rooms and common areas, to the exquisite linens and bath products, to the sublime scent wafting through the air, the whole experience is not just luxurious, but elevating. For all its palatial beauty, however, the best thing by far is the people who work there: during our stay, Miguel, Clara and Andre became like family to us and truly made us feel at home! Having booked all three rooms over our wedding week, we loved relaxing in the living room and back garden with our friends over coffee or a glass of port. Miguel and the manager Emre (who wasn't in Lisbon when we were there, but was a delight to work with) graciously helped arrange catering for a post-wedding brunch at the hotel, which turned out beautifully. During the day-of wedding preparations, Miguel and Clara also bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable, happy and well fed. All around, Casa dell'Arte provided the warmest and most heartfelt hospitality we have ever experienced — in what just happens to be a stunning, 18th-century palace. We feel so lucky to have spent our wedding week there and look forward to making it our home again whenever we're back in Lisbon!

What can I say about this place, other than, this is the most beautiful bedroom and bathroom I have ever stayed in. I felt like a queen during our stay this past weekend. When you enter the house, you are swept away by the aroma of Istanbul from Atelier Rebul, the entire place smells like a dream and the beauty overcomes your eyes. The art pieces at Casa Dell'Arte are exquisite, look for every detail, it is all art. Fatih will greet you with a smile and give you the best recommendations in town. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place, the neighborhood is safe and you are 10-20 minute walking distance to most of the sites, except those in Belem (Uber is cheap). Make sure you visit Casa Dell'Arte, I just got home and I am ready to go back. Maria "Ariela" & Mike
