The food here was a 10. The service was a 1. The restaurant itself was quite small in size, but looked like there were many locals. They had a menu in English, which may have played into some of the poor service. There were locals that arrived after us and got served before us. Our server did not make much eye contact. He also forgot the water and tried charging us for it. He did correct this error. The "pork secretos" was unlike anything I have ate.nit was like a crispy, juicy pork rind. The cooked vegetables, fries, and beef were also good. Great value for the price. This could easily have been a 4 or 5 if the service was any better. I would recommend if you know the local language or go with a local. It is centrally located and easy to find. Clean bathrooms.

Das Lokal ist absolut zu empfehlen! Das Essen und der Wein sind super lecker. Top, frisch und lecker zubereitet. Das einzige was zu beachten ist: die Einrichtung ist nicht so ansprechend und es ist ziemlich laut aufgrund der vielen Gäste. Aber natürlich auch typisch für ein lokales Restaurant in Portugal. Ein Besuch definitiv zu empfehlen!

Very good food and extremely reasonable prices. We had the grilled corvina with boiled spuds and salad, together with a litre carafe of red wine. Bread and cheese to start and all only a tad over €30.

Please don't fall for this tourist trap. If you want good food AND a decent service you can find it steps away in any direction from O Tachadas. You'll see many 5 star reviews only because tourists don't really know better and paying less than 10 euros for a meal seems like a glorious deal even if the food is sub-par and the service treats you like hot garbage. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Just walk 15 steps and go to Arêgos Restaurant around the corner.

O Tachadas é a típica tasca que, neste momento, vive mais da fama do que da qualidade dos seus pratos. A experiência começou com um telefonema que antecipava logo o que havia de se seguir "Nós estamos cheios, mas a mesa está reservada. Ficamos à vossa espera.". Ao chegar, antes da hora, constatamos o óbvio, reservar ou não ia dar ao mesmo: restaurante completamente a abarrotar. Quando referimos que tínhamos mesa reservada a resposta foi simples e directa "Pois... mas estamos cheios. Esperem.". Foi o que fizemos e quase 30 minutos depois da hora marcada lá entramos. Sinceramente, mais valia terem recusado a reserva. Teria feito mais sentido, mas suponho que com casa cheia e sem previsão de perder clientela os donos d'O Tachadas podem fazer destas coisas. Quanto à comida: todos pedimos pratos do dia, que são efectivamente mais em conta, com preços que variam entre os 6 e os 8 euros. Agora, se as doses são avantajadas, com os pratos de carne praticamente a transbordar, o mesmo não se pode dizer do sabor. No final ainda arriscámos nas sobremesas, mas o resultado foi o mesmo: aspecto fantástico, sabor inexistente. N'O Tachadas até o picante é insonso.

Leider eine ziemliche Katastrophe!
Das Ambiente liegt in etwa zwischen Schlachthaus und kühl-sterilem Badezimmer von 1970. Kalt und laut.
Wir bekamen einen Tisch zugewiesen und wurden dann ohne ersichtlichen Grund noch 2 weitere Male umgesetzt.
Bedienungen mit spärlichen bis inexistenten Englisch-Kenntnissen. Das erklärte zumindest, warum eine Vorspeise schlichtweg vergessen wurde. Umso besser. Diese Vorspeise (sopa tradicional) war sowieso nicht berauschend...
Die bestellten Steaks kamen alle 4 auf einmal und machten optisch einen guten ersten Eindruck.
Beim Aufschneiden mit den stumpfen Messern hätten auch Vegetarier Freude gehabt, denn die Kuh lebte noch und muhte!
Nach eigenhändigem Sezieren der Steaks waren die unaufmerksamen Kellner immerhin bereit die rohen Stücke nochmals kurz zu grillen.
Reis, Aioli und Pommes waren gut. Das Bier kalt und mit Kohlensäure.
Wir können dieses Restaurant leider nicht weiterempfehlen.
Preislich waren ca 18 Euro pro Person mit Vorspeise, einem Getränk und Steak wirklich günstig. Die Einheimischen bestellten viel to go... Vllt für das Steak die bessere Alternative.

Wer auf Pfannkuchen große Steaks mit fragwürdigem Biss aber beeindruckender Optik steht, dazu eine Servierschale mit Pommes und eine weitere mit Salat als erstrebenswertes Ziel erachtet, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Das ist nicht schlecht und irgendwie auch lustig. Der martialische Meister des Fleisches haut das Zeug am Eingang mit Wucht und Phon auseinander und schmeisst es auf den Grill. Nicht Einheimische bestellen demütig ihren zweiten vinho verde und würden so gerne als native Bewohner erkannt werden, rücken devot Stühle und Taschen, um nur dabei zu sein. Der Service ist prompt, unprätentiös und damit für Gourmands und Trinker geeignet. Es gibt spannendere und ehrlichere Adressen. Nichtsdesto trotz ist das O Tachadas einen Besuch wert, weil es nicht perfekt aber sympathisch ist.

As comidas sao simples, Mas sao tudo muito bom. É um does mwlhores restaurantes para se comer grelhados. O custo-beneficio é excelente. O restaurants é bem pequeno, por isso é bom chegar cedo, POI's sempre tem fila. Super que recomendo !!

Interesting restaurant. Food was good. We had chicken and bacalhau with potato and egg. The price was good for the quality and amount of food we got.
If you read the other reviews you get an impression of the restaurant. Food is authentic and good portuguese. The staff is more interested in watching TV and a bit of grumpy, but not mean at all. But many locals came in and had dinner. So in sum you can get an authentic dinner in this restaurant

I didn’t read the reviews which for a meat eater are ok. My mistake. All I wanted was an omelette and vegetables. I got spinach and chips. The restaurant only has 1 vegetable we were told. I waited for the omelette But it got lost in the kitchen! It never arrived to the table. We felt we were in a bathroom with fluorescent lights and white tiles. My husband had a steak poorly presented on a breadboard. But most of it was edible. We live in Lisbon but will not return.

Après UNE HEURE d'attente on me ramène un plat dégueulasse de mourue cuite au four dans une sorte de graisse. C'était immonde !! Le service est pitoyable, aucune attention aux clients et aucune aide pour comprendre ce qu'il y a dans les plats.

Wer es sehr deftig mag, auf den Preis achten muss und trotzdem ein riesiges Stück Fleisch vom Grill (Costeleta Novilho) verspeisen will, der ist hier gut aufgehoben. Das Lokal ist fast immer voll, so dass sich vor der Tür Schlangen bilden. Die Tische sind sehr eng gesetzt und so rutscht man schon seinem Nachbarn richtig auf die Pelle. Das Personal strahlt wirklich keine Freude aus. Da es in der Umgebung sehr viele gute Restaurants gibt, lohnt vielleicht der Gang zum nächsten.

Eine gruselige erfahrung. Ambiente ernüchternd, bedienung desinteressiert und das essen ....lassen wir das. Aber vielleicht haben wir alle drei nur falsche speisen bestellt? Ich hab gelesen, dass es ganz in der nähe feine lokale geben soll. Also bitte weitersuchen. Lohnt sich bestimmt. oder selbst kochen. Alles besser als dort.

Serviço muito mau. Empregados bebem álcool e passam mais tempo a ver a TV do que a servir os clientes. É uma pena porque a grelha é boa. Se fosse patrão já tinha posto os empregados na rua. Fomos clientes durante 20 anos, mas não voltaremos.

It was recommended by the local owner since it was near our airbnb. We Tried asking the waiter for a table but all he said was wait. Then 3 other groups of local came and started talking in Portuguese and seems like telling how many they are (all 3 different groups). Obviously all of them got a table first since we dont speak Portuguese. Great for local but not for tourist. In the end, we ended up going to another local restaurant where we were warmly welcomed!

Best T-Bones in Europe, classic grill, open Kitchen, you oversee your Meat/Fish being chopped, seasoned and grilled!!! A small place, where a dinner is not a reservation is an opportunity to an Experience. Wine options limited but not bad.

Gostei pouco porque serviram as costuletas grelhadas mas muito queimadas, e a atitude dos empregados não foi simpática e ainda foram desagradáveis como se fossemos nos os clientes os culpados pelo mau serviço. Lamento ter esta opinião mas é sincera. O restaurante estava cheio e não parece que precisem de novos clientes.

Restaurante típico dos trabalhadores de Lisboa, comida simples e saborosa servida em doses generosas, o pessoal da casa é experiente e mexe-se o melhor que pode para acomodar todos os clientes. Geralmente cheio na hora de almoço é comum ter de partilhar mesa com perfeitos desconhecidos.
Recomendada a posta de vitela que é de tamanho exagerado mas serve bem para duas pessoas.

What this place is, as of Oct 2019, is a local small scale lay back mom and pop steak house specialty. Not a 5 stars fine dining experience. With that said absolute 5 stars. Why. I PAY about 15 euro for the largest steak I have ever since with a small beer and the salad, chips and rice. The look of supprise on my face was noticeable by everyone in the restaurant. To quote star War, this place was a surprise but a welcome one. I cannot recommend this place enough for the size of that rediculous steak.

Très bonne petite cantine portugaise ! La viande de bœuf est succulente et le bacalhau excellent. Plats très copieux mais propose des doggy bag si on n’a pas fini...
personnel qui n’aime pas trop les touristes... certe mais si vous faite l’effort de dire 3/4 mots portugais, ils peuvent être plus sympathiques.

La carne BUENISIMA y a buen precio.
CUIDADO con los entrantes que te los ponen sin tu pedirlos y luego te los cobran(y no son baratos) si escoges correctamente gastas muy poco y comes MUY BIEN.
El servicio REGULAR, si eres español no hacen mucho por entenderte y llegas a sentirte desatendido pero bueno la carne vale la pena,nosotros fuimos 2 veces .jajajajaj
Hay un plato de que cuesta 12.50€ (aprox) que bien vale para dos.
Es,enorme!
El local no es muy pretencioso,más bien es tipo GUACHINCHE canario ,cosa que nos gustó.
Bueno ,sin duda lo recomiendo. Comeréis bien!

This place is a disappointment. Service is indifferent and there’s little commendable about their bland dishes, traditional as they may be. I’m not difficult and could not bring myself to finish not even a third of their cheese, blood sausage or grilled sardines.

Personnel antipathique au possible qui a mon avis n’aime pas trop les touristes.
Nous avons attendu plus de 10 min pour qu’on nous attribue une table alors qu’il y avait de la place, 30 min pour un steak frites, le personnel ne parle pas un seul mot d’anglais et à chaque fois que je demandais quelque chose j’avais le droit à « attendez ».
Bref, allez y pour manger sur le pouce si vous ne trouvez rien d’autre mais sinon, à fuir !

Great Great Great Food!! They have wonderful, juicy meat which made me very happy. The steak is quite big and still tender. Salad was also good with the generous amount of olive oil, fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
Only downside was that the waiters did not come across as very friendly. However, it didn’t matter to me because they had amazing food!!

La comida estaba rica y era relativamente barato, el problema fue la atención, llegamos y tuvimos que pedir la carta ya que nadie nos la trajo después de 10 minutos, no nos trajeron ni pan y para colmo estuvimos casi media hora esperando por el café mientras veíamos claramente como nadie lo estaba preparando, ese día había mucha gente pero debería tener capacidad de atender a todas las mesas por igual, sinceramente no volvería.

Tipico ristorantini portoghese. Un buco, ma molto caratteristico. All'ingresso c'è il personaggio che per tutta la sera taglia, demolisce, cucina bistecche e pesce. È senza dubbio il locale dove abbiamo mangiato meglio e solo qui ci siamo sentiti in un'altra dimensione. Pochi posti, quindi o arrivi presto o prenoti. Da nn perdere

I ate here several times. Service is quick and sober you are seated quite crammed and the lighting is bright and cold. Portions of food are quite big and simply but to the point prepared. Meat was tasty and tender, fish was fresh. No frills simple way of preparation but tasty. Straightforward Portuguese kitchen.

Súper recomendable para personas a quienes les gusten las raciones grandes!
Se come muy bien por muy poco. Algún inconveniente puede ser el espacio pequeño, compartir mesa con otras personas y que no se puede reservar (aunque eso es algo muy normal en Lisboa). Yo repito siempre que vengo, es imposible quedarse con hambre y se come con gusto. El precio de la carne + patatas arroz y ensalada está entre los 11 y 13 €. Un chollo.

I truly suggest bacalhau a braz, Costoleta de novilho, presunto and quejijo amanteigado. It’s not the cheapest tasca in Lisbon but it’s worth. ps. Reserve the table is recommended

Take the Costeleta de Novilho!! It's massive!! Is so big you should avoid any breads/olives/cheese or entries in general to be able to finish it!! And the price is ridiculously good for the excellent cut of meat prepared right before your eyes.
Extremely recommended to the meat lovers!

Cote a l'os gigantesque fondante en bouche avec frites maison à faire pâlir les plus grands restaurants de viande rouge belges ou français. Adresse à ne surtout pas rater si vous êtes comme moi un grand addict de viande rouge. Mais en plus, cela ne vous coûtera que 12.90 euros. Et bravo si vous terminez votre assiette !

Terrible service, this is not the place to eat if you need even average service - it's not that kind of restaurant, it's surly. Don't waste your time or theirs if your not in to that kind of dining experience.
Assert yourself to get a table, don't be shy but don't be rude either. Same goes for asking for basically anything - like an extra napkin, another beer, or the check.
The food is crazy good and cheap. Portuguese steak and seafood.
Got the "smaller" sirloin steak that was slightly more expensive for €11,50. Perfect steak, it beat fancy US steakhouses I've eaten at.

So the lights are bright, there's no music, the place is cramped and there's TVs in every corner.
But the foods great we enjoyed local cheese and presunto to start with some grilled morcela blood pudding.
Got the pork shoulder "secreto" which comes with fried rice salad as standard.
Total bill was 25euro
Was packed with tourist and locals alike

Insanely huge and tasty steaks served here. Our bill came to €28 for two enormous steaks, a plate of chips, a side salad and two drinks. Bargain! It was busy on a weekday in February, so I would recommend booking in advance during high season.

Great value food and well made. One of the best and bigger calf steaks you can have in Lisbon. Try "Costoleta de Novilho no Churrasco na Tábua" if you are really hungry and brave enough!

Very good and big meat dishes. And very good fish too. Typically for Lisboa, not quiet because it's always full. Go there before eight. The wine of the house is good, too.
