Literally the best food we had in Portugal so far. Even about the best Mexican food I ever had. It's cute and a good vibe, the owner is serving himself and really nice, accomondative and patient. Lots of love for this place. Thanks for hosting us 4 crazy girls.

Reply: Então vamos a isso... 5€ por uma dose de 2 cl de um whiskey que custa 16€ a GARRAFA. O custo é de 0,46 por dose, pode acrescentar 100% de margem, mais 100% pelo serviço, outros 100% pelo aluguel do copo, coloque mais 100% pelo cubo de gelo e mais 100% só porque sim... Poderia vender a dose por 2,76€... Mas aí acrescenta mais 2,24€ apenas pq as outras casas fazem o mesmo?
Pelo menos foi sensato ao escolher o nome, Cartel...

Absolutely amazing food, one of the best Mexicans I have had and we love Mexican food so have eaten it all over the world. Reasonable prices especially for the quality of the food will definitely be coming back here again!!

Pretty much the only joint in Ferrel that I’ve repeatedly visited for the soups and tacos after a surfing session in Peniche/Baleal.
Fish tacos are dope.
Beef tacos are mad.
Nachos were the bomb.
Ceviche was incredible.
Soup was super heart-warming. (Think chicken soup for the soul)
And the churros... simply amazing.
Love this place and definitely have recommended it to tons of people.
Good job guys!

If you're around Peniche and Baleal, you don't have that much reliable options to eat, specially if you had enough of grilled fish with boiled potatoes. Cartel 71 is one of those few places where one can find great food (mexican food) and amazing drinks (make sure you leave you car at home, please!). Great warm up for that crazy night out or for a romantic dinner with you loved one. Diogo and the crew are great hosts and will make the most to make you feel at home.

Delicioso! Ambiente muito acolhedor, staff eficiente e serviço rápido. Os tacos, são muito saborosos e combinam muito bem com umas margueritas ou cerveja mexicana. Aconselho muito os nachos e o ceviche para entrada. Tem opções para todos, carne, peixe, vegetariano e as tortillas são glúten free!

Espaço muito agradável e ambiente bastante acolhedor. Sendo que, maioritariamente, as críticas se direccionam para a comida, as minhas 5 estrelas vão para todo o conjunto do serviço prestado, em particular para as margueritas :) ... podia beber as de melancia o dia todo!!!! Boa relação qualidade/preço e staff muito atencioso. Recomendo!

soy de México y claro no podia dejar de pasar la oportunidad de visitar cartel 71 y el servicio es excelente ya que la mesera que nos atendió hizo todo el esfuerzo por hablarnos en español y explicarnos los platillos la comida deliciosa y aunque estaba lleno no esperamos en recibir nuestros tacos. ya lo recomendamos a nuestros paisanos aqui en Portugal

Tiempo de espera muy elevado para el tipo de comida que sirven. La comida llega casi fría y la atención deja bastante que desear.
Precio moderado tirando a alto (teniendo en cuenta la cantidad).
Decoración y ambientación muy conseguida, con aspecto de taqueria Mexicana. Baños muy mejorables.
Entrada estrecha (nada de carros de bebé o sillas de ruedas) y poco sitio entre las mesas (los asientos son bancos, excepto unos pocos en una barra y una mesa para dos).

Um restaurante incrível, situado na zona do Baleal, com ambiente descontraído e relaxado, um espaço cool e com staff extremamente simpático e prestável.
Desde as bebidas, á comida que é uma verdadeira explosão de sabores fantástica, sente-se cada um dos ingredientes dando um equilíbrio de sabores formidável.
Sem dúvida um excelente restaurante para uma excelente experiência mexicana.
A comida é preparada rapidamente e com uma qualidade fantástica, recomendo seja para um jantar em família, com amigos ou até mesmo a dois, o Cartel71 é sempre uma boa opção.
Apos várias visitas e serviço de take-away posso dizer que todos os pratos são muito bem confeccionados, com boa apresentação e claro excelente sabor. Vale muito a pena uma visita, e não passem sem comer a sobremesa de brownie com nozes e caramelo salgado com gelado de nata, divinal!
Para terminar com chave de ouro, um shot de mezcal!

Eine Empfehlung dieser Laden. Übersichtliche Karte, was natürlich nichts schlechtes bedeutet. Außer Nachos in verschiedenen Variationen und ein paar anderen Vorspeisen gibt es als Hauptspeise nur Takkos. Aber auch hier in verschiedensten Variationen, die alle sehr vielversprechend lecker klingen. Ich hatte welche, vier Stück an der Zahl, mit Rindfleisch! Delicious sage ich nur. Und als krönenden Abschluss, gab es Tequila. Auch hier verschiedene Sorten, von preiswert bis teuer. Das Hausbier kann ich auch ans Herz legen.

Loved it!! A perfect place to go with a group of friends! The food is really good specially the nachos with chilli which are amazing the tequila and mezcal bar is the perfect way to start an amazing fun night! The staff is super nice! A must go restaurante in Ferrel/Baleal. I will return for sure!

Couple of years ago bought a surf board in the same place, the shop owner was a really nice person, he told me he is tirning the surfshop into a restaurant, so after 2 years I came back, had the same warm welcome, ate well and drink quality drinks. Thanks Diogu and thanks Cartel 71.

Coming from San Diego, we have high taco standards and have learned to keep expectations low when it comes to Mexican eateries in Europe- but BRAVO, Cartel 71!!!!! It was all great from the chips and guac to the tacos, we were so happy with the first round of tacos that we ordered a second round AND dessert! We left absolutely stuffed and had our expectations well surpassed.

Sehr leckeres Essen zu humanen Preisen. Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachtisch waren wirklich sehr gut. Natürlich kann man nicht erwarten von einem 10€ Hauptgericht satt zu werden, es sei denn man steht auf irgendein billiges eingekauftes Fleisch, dann sollte man hier wohl nicht hingehen.

I been in cartel 71 with some friends and We ordered almost all different kind of tacos and we loved all.
My favorite one was the fish one and the bbq. Of course we also ordered some classic margaritas and had some Tequila shots. All the experience was awesome we totally recommend.

Lovely tacos and nachos, all very tasty and well prepared. They bake their own nachos (!), nothing ready made, and it's all homemade right there.
The Margaritas hit the spot and the Mezcal recommendation couldn't have been any better. Very friendly staff and the open kitchen is fun. The guys are doing a great job! We'll come back soon.

Особенно нравятся такос Alambre и начос с мясом и халопени, также в ресторане подают очень вкусное мексиканское пиво Pacific, такое вы найдете только в этом ресторане. Primeiramente, posso-lhe garantir que o alimento que me foi dado pela sua empregada não se encontra em condições alimentares excelentes, não se excedendo nem em sabor nem em qualidade.
Segundamente, a quantidade de comida que me foi atribuída não era suficiente para saciar um homem do povo.
Seguidamente, sinto-me desconsolado de não ter sido atendido em português, tendo de ultrapassar dificuldades linguísticas para conseguir expressar-me.
Concluindo, foi uma experiência que não gostaria de repetir.

We asked for a pork taco with a mexican recepie and i actualy hated it. The quantity and quality didnt justify its price. We did complain to the owner and instead of apologising he decided to justify saying that they followed the recepie just like the tradicional mexican recepie. "Some people like it some people dont". Worst mexican food ive ever had.

Einen alkoholfreien Cocktail zu bekommen ging, warum auch immer garnicht. (Schwanger) Ich musste entweder ein fertiges Flaschengetränk oder einen Saft nehmen. Der Erdbeer Saft war dann auch nicht so geil. Leicht gegoren und sehr wässrig. Minus ein Stern fürs längere warten. Schade und den Abend.

Precios excesivos. Que alguien pueda permitirse pagarlo no quita para que sea caro. Ademas, veo que no aceptan bien las críticas, aunque sean constructivas, y esto, entre otras cosas, queda feo. Mi opinión es que un negocio debe valorar a todos sus clientes, no solo a los que le dan 5 estrellas. Respuestas descaradas y de mal gusto. Esto lo dice todo.

Very nice place, with amazing food and staff. They were very friendly and welcoming as soon as we came in.
We had some quesedillas and the best vegetarian taco’s I’ve ever had! With lentils and avocado, definitely recommend.
Also the margaritas taste and look amazing. A perfect dinner before a night out

Very disappointing and horrible experience. Owner is quite aggressive and didn’t appreciate us needing extra time to order his words “ok I’m here all night for you just take your time”, never came back again to our table.
The food itself was dry - old El Paso tacos taste better/fresher than food served here. Probably because everything here comes out of a huge freezer in the kitchen. Portions are small, boring and tasteless.
The staff also short changed us the money due to be returned when we paid. We tried to call them to this but were ignored - probably because it was done on purpose.
Following this visit we were unfortunately very sick. We believe this was due to the poor products served here.
I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs, it’s the worst restaurant I’ve been to in many years.

Great little place, staff were friendly and helpful. The food was simple but delicious. They have a great selection of tequila based cocktails and even their own chili beer.
Really nice vibe.
I would advise booking if you don't like to wait, we went on a Friday night in August and had about 20 min wait for a table.

Sin duda, el peor restaurante mexicano que he probado en mi vida (y no son pocos...)
Cena para 7 probando casi todos los tacos de la carta a excepción de los vegetarianos. No se salvaba ni uno!!
De entrante pedimos el guacamole, picante y no picante que estaba correcto aunque la ración pequeña y los totopos que los acompañaban totalmente sin más...
El relleno de la quesadilla de queso era de lonchas de supermercado... una tomadura de pelo...
Las tortas de maíz de los tacos se rompían todas haciendo imposible comerse el taco si no era con cubiertos, un sinsentido hablando de tacos...
Las recetas de los tacos ni se parecen a las originales mexicanas. Materia prima mala y la mayoría de los productos congelados. Las salsas además de insípidas y faltas de cualquier sabor se repetían de unos tacos a otros.
Los churros de postre son algo infame.
Precios bajos, eso sí.
Dramática cena de principio a fin.
Lugar a evitar si vas a cenar fuera en Peniche.

Fantastic food and people. Fish tacos were so delicious. They were a little unprepared for a full house so service was slow, but they were very friendly. The atmosphere is like a family dinner on large picnic style tables. Fresh homemade food. We brought our three boys all under the age of 12 and they ate steak and quesadillas. The food, people and margaritas were amazing.

Olà Gringos and Senhoritas! To be able to eat really good Mexican Food in Ferrel/Baleal is a blessing. The place is great, and so are the people who work there. They opened the restaurant in the location of an old surf shop that has been there since the 80´s, and some of the old boards are on display. Don´t mind the fact that it is a bit in between the two towns. That is just real Mexican western style and let you walk of the tequilas, margaritas and the wonderful dishes they serve. The kids loved the quesedillas, the home made style nachos with the best guacamole, and at finished it of with real home made churros and chocolate brownies. Me. I ate a bunch of incredible fish tacos two days in a row. Yep. tacos in a row, two days in a row. Salt on skin and hair, lemon and lime all over, a tequila on the side and tacos all over. See you amigos!

Lovely food. I had a margarita and it was tasty. My husband had the cheviche and it was amazing! We so had fish tacos, octopus tacos, chilli and quesadillas. Cheviche was the best!! Prices expensive for the area but worth it.

Com uma decoração muito original, todos os produtos estao virados para a cultura mexicana. Nao jantei ( dai so as 4 estrelas) mas o cheirinho que vinha no ar, abria o apetite e deixava água na boca. Apesar das horas tardias, mesmo perto da hora de fechar, não nos fecharam a porta e ainda estivemos um bom tempo a beber uma das muitas cidras que têm. Aconselho a de pêra!

The team at Cartel 71 is the nicest and the food is the fantastic! We arrived late in Peniche and they took us in just a few minutes before it was time to close, and made sure we were all comfortable and having a good time during our dinner.
Also a special highlight to the vegetarian options in the menu, they were delicious!
