I rented a surf board at Guichosurfshop for half a day. The price was reasonable, 20 Euros for 4 hours which is much cheaper than the other surf rentals at Guincho beach. As I only took my shorty and the ocean was quite cold, 17 degrees Celsius in the middle of August, I also rented a suit (5 Euros) which was in good condition. The two guys in charge of the rental were sympathetic and helpful. They asked me what was my surfing experience and recommended a suitable board. I finally chose a soft board as our daughter wanted to try surfing, but the guy insisted that I could come anytime and change the board if I wanted to use a better one for myself. I don't know about their surfing courses, but the rental service was very satisfying :)

It was a terrible experience. We are two surf beginners and we wanted to try surf some waves in this beautiful beach. The surf day was very windy, so we asked to the girl in the shop if is was good to surf for two beginners. She said us that was hard to surf that day (also for the tide) but possible. The sea was furious. Surfing was impossible. We stayed only 1 hour in the beach. 20 minutes (Cause the wind was against us) to go to the part of the beach that the girl suggested us to visit for surfing - 20 minutes surfing with fear and pain - 20 minutes to go back. We returned to the surf shop because the situation was really bad and surfing was impossible. In the sea there were only 2 expert surfers and kite surfers... we asked about a refund about the price or part of it, because we didn’t surf AT ALL. The girl said that it was impossible to have money back, because before going she told us that it was hard. Then she said that we stayed to much in the beach for a refund at we lost a time eating (5 minutes...) and other excuses... for us it is not a very honest person, because yes, she told us the sea was hard, but she didn’t stop us or insisted on the situation, but it was dangerous for beginners....this is not a professional and honest way to work and suggest something to the customers.

Such a great guy helped me and my girlfriend a few days ago. He was really caring about us and gave great service to us. Thank you so much!

This spot is awesome, the shop can rent you all you need for a kitesurfing section , personnel is Very professional and they will help you choosing what you need. Thanks Praia do Guincho See you soon

In a few words : My worst renting experience!!! Unfriendly & incompetent staff, bad material for expensive price. I rented a kite 4 hours for 75 euro. The footstrap was half broken, the pump was broken, the kite was already repaired many times and was flying really badly...

Totally screwed me over. Figured I was a tourist and didn`t care about my safety nor me spending money on something there was no way I could use it and they knew. Do not recomend at all.

The people were very unfriendly, as if they don't want to rent boards, better grab ur board from Another surf shop! The wetsuits were so old and ripped, was as if I surfed without wetsuit!

Tried to spend €420 in buying a new kite in this shop, and I have never found a purchase so hard. They refused to take card, and made the whole process hugely difficult, when desperate to kite. The kite pro even tried to step in, and thought had resolved but a stubborn, incorporative owner, Joquin Silver said a firm no even when he had said yes to the pro. I will never spend a further cent in that surf shop, and I hope others follow suit. No wonder there are so many 2013 kites still on sale there. Who has €400+ euros in their back pocket. M
