The best part of our trip to Lisbon, hands down! We loved this tour - we learned so much about the culture of Lisbon and Portugal, tried such a variety of foods, and just generally had a lovely time. Rosa was our guide and she made the tour feel like we were all a bunch of friends hanging out for a few hours - it was a ton of fun!! She was so knowledgeable, sharing cultural context, historical information, discussing context about the details we saw along our walk. We got way more than we expected on this tour - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We hope to return to try a different one of the Taste of Lisboa tours in the future!

This tour was great! I learned a lot about Portuguese food, wine and culture and had a wonderful time meeting people from all over Europe. We highly recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Lisbon's food and wine scene.

Aside from the BEST ham, cheese, bread, wine, fish, and food, Taste of Lisboa has the best guides! Our guide Rosa was so knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating and the BEST person to explore Lisbon with! Rosa took us on a food tour involving the most decadent food from across Portugal along with the deepest historical context of how food has become interconnected with Portuguese culture!

I have never taken such an amazing food tour before! It is really localized and well-designed! Fell in love with Portuguese food :P

Delightful foodie tour helps me discover Lisbon a lot and I also has wonderful Fado experience from the suggestions from Rosa (Touristic guide). Definitively Go with them

This tour made me feel just like a local! We enjoyed the local atmosphere while being introduced to amazing food. I cannot wait to go back to the cafe for the best chocolate cake in the world!!

Imagine walking through the rustic streets of Mouraria with the birds chirping, laundry hanging outside windows, dogs sniffing around for scraps and moms yelling at their kids to come inside. You look around and see murals, graffiti that is so artistic that it almost looks like a painting, old photographs and flyers of people who were once legends in these streets and you start to smell the wafts of home cooked Portuguese food that only your grandmother could make. As you smile and start to get hungry, you start to observe beer bottles of Sagre lying around, and small bars where you can hear hearty laughs and the owner giving free shots of cherry liquor that tastes like a mix of Coke and a hint of Jack Daniels. As you walk up the hilly streets, you look around for food and locals call out to you with samples to try their soft cod cakes, delicious bread with olive oil that comes from the Azores, slices of sweet black pork, carrots dipped in special garlic sauce, fresh salmon with a glaze of oil, and lastly custard tarts that will melt in your mouth. After sampling these, you smile and look up and soon find yourself speaking fluent Portuguese all while a lonely man in the street sitting on a box slowly plays the guitar while singing Fado songs of his broken heart and about a hopeless romance.

This is one of the best things I did in Portugal. I had never done a food tour prior to doing this, but this is such a great way to acclimate to and learn about Lisbon and Portugal. David knew what he was talking about and went above and beyond to make sure everybody was getting the most out of their tour experience. I learned a ton, ate some great food (I went back to several of the stops later on while I was in Lisbon), and met fellow travelers to share it all with. This is worth every penny and I’d highly recommend it to anybody who loves food, who loves learning, and who wants to explore some “off the beaten path” gems of Lisbon!

Terrific mix of food, history and culture. Great way to get off the tourist track and experience some of the real neighborhoods. Highly recommend

I've been to Lisbon many times, but until I took a tour by these people, I was missing so much.
They know food, neighborhoods, ethnicity and history. During the tour they take you to out of the way places that you would miss and in the process teach you about the food, the neighborhood, the people, and the history.
If you are so inclined they also have an excellent cooking class where you go to a local market, pick up the food and cook it.
For the first time visitor to Lisbon, I heartily recommend one of their excellent tours. It will give you a much better overview of Lisbon than the touristy bus tours. I think you should do it the first day.

My husband and I did the Trendy Market, Food and Cultural Walk with them and our host was Madalena, who did an awesome job. She was super friendly and shared a lot of information about Lisbon with us. She made sure everyone on the tour was comfortable and created a feeling of being with friends within our little group.
It was our first time ever doing a food tour and we absolutly loved it.
Our tour started with a slice of the worlds best chocolate cake with a coffee, followed by a visit of the Campo de Ourique market, where we tried some canned fish and had a glass of wine.
After that Madalena guided us through the enclosed neighborhood, told us about all the little details on our way and was all in all the best guide you could have. We stopped again for some pork sandwiches, one's of Portugals most famous dishes and some deep fried cuttle fish.
The next stop got us to Moules & Beer, a modern, hip place where to enjoy some amazing mussles and Craft beers. Soo good.
Sadly, after stopping at a nearby park, we were guided to our last stop, a coffee shop named Alma, and ended our tour with a classic Pasteis de Nata.
Going on a food tour with Madalena was so much fun and I would do it again anytime soon.

Would highly recommend as a lovely relaxed way to see the city. We visited some lovely old parts that we may otherwise have missed. Also felt it was excellent value with 7 stops including 4 drinks. Our host Miguel was lovely & we got email later with more info on places to eat. We did the Downtown Mouraira walk. I am always recommending this to anyone I know going to Lisbon or it’s coast.

I want to thank Rosa, our tour guide, for a great time! She’s got the perfect balance between enthusiasm and gusto without sounding robotic or script-like.
There were just two of us on the tour, therefore I thought it would end before the 3.5 hour time frame. Just the opposite. Rosa was so willing to talk and discuss Portuguese history and food that the tour lasted a little longer than expected.
Great variety of finger foods and small plates, accompanied by good wine, beer and juice.
The company responds quickly to emails.
I’ve done a number of food tours and this one is definitely one of the better ones. Totally worth the price. Will go again!

2017ko uztailean pintxoen tourra egin genuen eta ederki pasatzeaz gain Mourariako txoko bereziak ezagutzeko aukera ona eman zigun.
Bidaia hasieran egitea gomendatzen det, hiriaren ezagutza orokorra ere eskaintzen baitu

We did the food tour our first day in Lisbon, and if you aren’t familiar with the city I would recommend the same. You get to try a bunch of local food. You see some of the normal popular places, but you also get to try places that you would never know to stop.
The other reason I say to do this at start of your trip is our guide was awesome at recommending food/wine spots the remainder of our trip. Most of my travels involve good food and drinks and our tour was one of our better experiences we’ve had.

We had a group of about 10 people from all over the world, which made great fun for conversation. Luckily we ran into another couple two times after the tour - fun to see "old/new" friends around town. Rosa is fantastic!! She is passionate about her city and incredibly knowledgeable. I love that we were guests in small, hole-in-the-wall places that we would have never even noticed, much less known to visit. Thank you Rosa!
