On a recommendation from our apartment rental, we visited 'Bota Sal'. When we arrived we where presented with some bread, butter and olives. Later we were charged for this which I felt was not appropriate given that we did not order it. We were advised that there was no childrens menu but my daughter, 12 years old, could have mince meat with mushroom sauce or a burger. She chose the mince meat. When it arrived it turned out to be a non edible steak, very tough to eat and my daughter could not eat it. I spoke with the woman who service me, who I found out later was the manager. I said that my daughter could not eat this and did not like it and could she change it for the burger. She said yes but we would have to pay for the steak also. I said absolutely not as it was not edible. She spoke with a man at the back of the restaurant, who I presume owned the place. She came back and took the steak away very rudely and the burger arrived. When my daughter started to eat the burger it was raw inside. I attach a photo. Even if burgers are prepared that way in Portugal, I should have been asked how I would like it done. I was concerned my daughter would be sick so I spoke with the woman again and she said that she was the manager, the burger was fine and then took it away very angrily and would not speak to me anymore. This woman should not be working in a restaurant and most definitely should not be a manager.I have never had such bad customer service in my life and the food was terrible. My tuna steak was very salty and was definitely frozen not fresh. My wife's salad was very small and she said was not great at all. We got up and left, without much eaten and a bill of 65 euros!! We made a big mistake going to this restaurant. There are better restaurants for food and service in Lisbon - don't waste your time or money here.

The team behind beloved seaside Sal Restaurante in Comporta has finally opened Bota Sal, a more youthful Lisbon offshoot in the Estrela district. Lined with seafoam green corrugated metal walls and weathered wood chairs, the space channels its salty older sibling while delivering a more modern take on maritime cuisine. Try the sirloin steak, which comes with a house made sauce and French fries; there's also an octopus salad, deep-water rose shrimp from the Algarve, and cuttlefish with bacon strips and coriander. For dessert, go for the lavender-infused milk custard.

Botal Sal, un restaurant à deux pas de la basilique. Un très beau lieux, très charmant, avec un univers bien défini, nous sommes arrivés sans réservation, et avons été accueilli avec beaucoup de sympathie. A comida é fraca e cara para a qualidade. Paguei 24€ por uma posta de garoupa grelhada que não parecia ser fresca e estava seca. O atendimento também deixa muito a desejar, sobretudo na parte das reservas. Uma grande desilusão...

Fiz uma reserva para o aniversário dos 20 anos de casado com 2 semanas de antecedência , reservaram-me a mesa ,4 dias antes voltei a ligar e confirmaram a reserva , e na segunda á noite quando o jantar era quarta feira ligaram-me a dizer que afinal o restaurante estava em obras e que não estava aberto nesse dia. O que dizer ?

Pratos para partilhar de grande qualidade. Este restaurante é muito bem decorado e confortável, repleto de sabor e personalidade. Os pratos chegavam à mesa em doses pequenas mas carregadas de carácter. Para acompanhar o jantar optamos pela sangria. Infelizmente não entra para a lista de visitas frequentes devido ao preço, é um restaurante ideal para trazer aqueles amigos estrangeiros para provar petiscos cozinhados na perfeição.

Mijn vriend en ik kwamen na een lange reis vanuit Eindhoven hier terecht. Wij werden vriendelijk en gastvrij begroet. Wij hebben alle twee de Hamburger SB genomen. Toen wij alle twee een hap namen van de Hamburger keken wij elkaar vol enthousiasme aan. Sappig, vers en een heerlijke smaak. Daarna nog een crème brûlée gegeten met een dikke harde suikerlaag. Super lekker en vriendelijke hard werkende mensen. Door het lekkere eten was het ook super druk. Zeker een aanrader !

This was really a very good meal. One of those that everything you order is just perfect. I feel that it as a lot to do with the quality of the ingredients used. Not to take credit away from the chefs but it just feels the raw materials they work with are just that good. We had two flavours of the "massa tenra" pastry: "cozido" and meat (go with the "cozido" although you can't really go wrong). Both were perfect. Crispy dough and savoury full-flavoured filling. We also had the "croquete" with dijon mustard. Finally we shared the pork with sweat potato "migas" which was also a lovely mixture of salty pork with the tender sweetness of the potatoes. Just bear in mind that portions are pretty small (as opposed to the price). But overall a very good meal in a nice setting (it does tend to become noisy when full).

Restaurante com uma decoração agradável. Ambiente simpático e descontraído. A ementa é variada e os pratos são bem confecionados e apresentados. O serviço é atento e acolhedor. Um "senão" a referir : os preços nalgumas escolhas são exagerados.

Well, what is there to say. Arrived straight from the airport and it could not have been a more amazing experience! Apart from the great maritime inspired interior design (if you like model boats, you will looooove this place) and the ridiculously friedly staff, the food, omg, the foooood. Do it. You know you want it. We had the clams and the risotto nero (with cuttlefish). Blown away, particularly by the risotto. It's one like you've never had before, believe me. Game changer! Be careful with the deserts, they are very rich, and if you're lucky, and we were, you'll get a port wine digestif to round up a perfect dinner. I guess it's difficult to hide our love for this place, but it is what it is. It was our first time there, but most certainly not the last time!

Lieu sympa mais rapport qualité/ prix pas sympa du tout. 16€ les 10 couteux.... je n'avais pas l'impression d'être entré dans une brasserie des Champs ! En plus les 2plats que nous avons pris étaient très moyens...

We ate here last night on a trip to Lisbon. Bota Sal is in a very cute neighbourhood in Lisbon. Although being 15 minutes away from our hotel by taxi, the journey was definitely worth it. The setting is simple and the food very traditional - go here for great seafood at very reasonable prices. The staff are all extremely helpful. You won’t leave disappointed.

Wenn man Hunger hat, muss man tiefer in die Tasche greifen um satt zu werden. Qualität ist gut, aber Preis Lestungsverhältnis stimmt aus meiner Sicht nicht.

antigo Bota Velha, o Bota Sal veio tentar ser mais in e mais abrangente. Na minha opinião não o conseguiu apesar da extrema qualidade na higiene e na qualidade das carnes. O mesmo já não direi das ameijoas que já estavam falecidas antes de irem para o tacho. O serviço é agradavel e a conta ...enfim, digamos que é pouco condizente com aquilo que se comeu.
