Such a hidden gem in this neighborhood! A very eclectic collection of knick-knacks and paintings with great music vibes. Stuffed peppers and the cornbread codfish were the daily highlights (menus change daily and are handwritten).

The food is okay, it is tasty but not better than averange. Prices are around 8-12€ per dish. What really disapointed me was that without asking we were given 3 slices of bread, 25 grams of spread and 10 olives and were charged 4€ for this - a total no go for a restaurant which claims to be a good one. At all, it is not a bad choice, but no better than averange.

Despite the food being tasty, the waiter tried to fool us.
We were served some Olives and bread before the dishes, letting us believe that these were complimentary. In the end we were charged 4 Euros for what we didn't even order nor eat a lot of.
When we paid, the waiter didn't even have enough money to return the correct amount and went to exchange money first. Then he also returned the wrong amount which is a no-go in my opinion.

El sitio es curioso y la atencion es buena. La comida es horrible, pedimos varios platos y ninguno estaba bueno: un bacalao al horno sequisimo e insipido bañado en aceite, un atun que se hacia bola y un pulpo con una textura mas que dudosa. Pedimos para empezar una sopa que era una crema aguada y sosa recalentada en el microondas y servida medio fria. Con los postres no nos atrevimos. Ninguno de los que fuimos entendemos las opiniones positivas sobre la comida ni que digan que es casera, al menos en mi casa no se cocina asi.

Sitio muy curioso, antes debia de ser una tienda de antiguedades porque estaba lleno de muebles vintage. La comida buenisima, el pollo asado super rico y la carne igual. Lo mejor la tarta de calabaza y canela, suuuuper dulce, mejor cogerla para compartir porque empalaga un poco, pero todo muy rico

Went there a few days ago. The interior of the place had some nice antiques. Unfortunately the food was also antique. Got some serious FOOD POISONING from it. The tuna steak I ordered was a big block of very dry meat and unevenly lukewarm. It felt like they took it out the back of the fridge, microwaved it and drenched it in olive oil. The potatoes and salad was also drenched. My friend ordered the seabass and it was also really dry with hard, though edges. He got a sore throat and stomach ache from it. The host was really friendly and the background music was great, just a real shame the food is bad.

Absolutely loved this spot - it was a unique, small, cozy wine bar feel with historic vibes.
I ordered the cod and potatoes, a generous glass of red wine, and an amazing sweet potato pie. I wanted all the desserts (menu posted below) - I would go there just for a glass of wine, dessert and espresso.
The wait staff was extremely nice to me even when I was being indecisive and a hassle ( ).
I don’t give it 5 stars because they charged me 9 euros for the olives and bread that I did not order. So definitely ask if it’s included or extra.

This would have been a 1 star review had it not been for the service and the wine. The food was quite clearly yesterday’s that was microwaved. The very small amount of meat on the ribs was so dry, it was almost inedible. The worst meal I’ve had in the past two years - avoid!

A quaint little spot filled with antiques and art. We experienced character-filled and friendly muli-lingual service from the team, which made us feel very welcome. The traditional Portuguese food was homely and delicious. Close to the Time Out market and train station.

Amazing food, amazing service! This was one of the best meals I've ever had. And perhaps my best food experience in Lisbon. This place is an old antique shop turned into a restaurant. They serve traditional portuguese comfort food that tastes heavenly. We had the milk cod gratin and the grilled chicken. I wish I could have those dishes every day. The staff is also so welcoming and helpful. The chef herself came out into the restaurant to talk to us, which was a nice touch. I love this place :)

The service was exceptional. The tapas was also good. The woman talks many different languages, but the food was microwaved. We heard the sound of microwave when it’s finished. We ordered tuna steak and codfish with milk cream. Tuna steak was dry. Codfish was just a lasagna with the cod. I don’t recommend this place.

Absoluter Geheimtipp! Wenn man im Restaurant sitzt denkt man, dass man bei Oma im Wohnzimmer ist. Einrichtung ist vintage, klein und geschmackvoll wie die Musik! Das Essen ist täglich neu und beschränkt sich auf eine kleine Karte, wo jeder was findet. Am Anfang denkt man, dass die Teller sehr klein sein, aber wir sind alle fünf satt und glücklich aus dem lokal gegangen. Ein besonderes Lob geht an die Bedienungen die sich wirklich sehr große Mühe geben. Männer sollten auf dem Klo nach oben in den Spiegel schauen

Ils sont rares mais tellement bons ces moments où l'on a l'impression d'avoir fait une belle découverte : d'être tombé sur un endroit simple et authentique, un endroit où au surplus on n'a pas l'impression de s'être quand même un peu fait avoir au moment de l'addition.
Accueil chaleureux mais pro, rapide et multilingue.
Cuisine assez simple mais généreuse et goûteuse.
Choix de desserts maisons quasi. miraculeux... Parmi tout ce qui est proposé, mon choix s'est porté sur le gâteau citrouille-canelle que je recommande chaudement.
Bon choix de vins, une fois de plus à des tarifs raisonnables.
Addition raisonnable même si, et ce serait mon seul bémol, je n'ai que moyennement apprécié que l'assiette apéritive (olives et délicieuse préparation à tartiner à base de sardines) soit facturée 4€.
Paiement en espèces uniquement mais distributeur de billets en face

Il n'y avait pas d'autre restaurant ouvert à proximité, nous nous sommes donc arrêtés a celui la . Service tres agréable, le garçon était tres accueillant et sympathique. Se vc é brasileiro, não vá neste lugar. Atendimento péssimo e claramente discriminatório com brasileiros. Um casal de japoneses que estavam na mesa do lado foram tratados de maneira mto simpática, com mimos e risos...
Após pedir o fechamento da conta, tbm pedimos a rolha da garrafa do vinho que nao havíamos consumido totalmente e o comentário da senhora atendente ao nos entregar a rolha foi “coloca você pois eu não levo jeito para isto” e nos deu as costas. Nem sequer o pagamento ela se dignou a receber. Deixamos na mesa e fomos embora sem nenhum “até logo”.
A sopa de legumes, estrogonofe de peru e vinho da casa que consumimos até estavam bons e com preço justo, no entanto o tratamento foi horrível. Jamais voltaria e não recomendo!

Really lovely little local restaurant. The food and wine was really good, proper home cooked style. The shop its housed in is like a bric a brac store, keeps you entertained for hours just looking through the cabinets. Main meals were around 10 euros each, we had a piri piri style chicken dish and a beef bourginon followed by a pumpkin pie... All were delicious.

Ein echter Geheimtipp! Wir waren bei der Pink Street (unbedingt am Abend/Nacht anschauen). Von dort ist das Lokal nicht weit entfernt.
Service super und freundlich. Essen schmeckt und ist echt günstig. Wir haben zu zweit gerade mal 25€ gezahlt. Wir hatten jedoch auch nur eine Hauptspeise und jeweils ein Getränk.
Wir haben den Platz direkt im Schaufenster bekommen. War super lustig.. jedoch ist es dort bisschen eng.

For my taste as a tourist this is delicious Portuguese food. But unlike my Portuguese local friend he said the opposite way. Well everyone has different opinion. But I came here again so I’m happy with the food and everything.

We went to eat at this place because it looked cosy and not touristy. It says 'teahouse' on the outside and I regret we didn't just go there for tea and cake. We had the tuna steak and codfish. The tuna wasn't what we expected, it was dry and tasteless. I got a generous piece of codfish, but it also was a bit too dry with hard edges. Moreover, my food floated in a pool of olive oil. The salad (clearly from a package) was drenched. We got tree half potatoes on the side. Beware, the appetizers you get are charged €4. I do believe however that this is a nice spot for tea and cake.

Locale particolarissimo dall'arredamento originale. Piatti della tradizione, cucinati a regola d'arte e molto gustosi. Consigliati il patè di sardine, il pollo e tutti i baccalà.
I dolci poi sono uno spettacolo... ho gustato una delle torta di mandorle più buone che abbia mai assaggiato!
Il personale è molto disponibile e ti fa sentire a casa, soprattutto la signora che, tra l'altro, parla un ottimo italiano!

Tried their cod (traditional and gratin) and stuffed chicken. I strongly recommend the latter. The food is great at this place. Which made me wonder why people gave bad reviews previously claiming the food was microwaved. Mine wasn’t. At least I hope not. Their chocolate cakes with caramel and bananas are delicious. I recommend the latter.
Personal is very friendly and sociable.
However,
This place is in a serious need of a ventilation system. It’s hard sometimes to breathe inside. The place feels very closed.
Whoever answering the phone and taking table bookings needs to be able to communicate in English.
Get a card payment system. People don’t use cash as much before nowadays. Plus taking cash only payments doesn’t reinforce trust in the establishment.

É um bar/restaurante um pouco diferente. Primeiro porque tem uma montra e as pessoas que lá se sentam ficam em exposição. Segundo porque o mobiliário e a decoração são do século XIX. Terceiro porque o pessoal é velho, de mais de 60 anos.

Wow. I had the cod and I would say that should be what everyone tries here. I would love to go again to try something else, but honestly I loved the cod dish so much, that I don't know if I can try anything else on my second visit. The ambiance is antique, and comforting. I absolutely loved stumbling upon this place, and would recommend this place to anyone going to Lisbon.

I had dinner here on a slow Sunday night and it was perfect. The space is incredibly cozy and full of history if you ask about the multiple old items that serve as decoration.
I will definitely come back to try an afternoon tea and look around for items of my childhood
The staff treats you like family :)

엄청난 친절함. 이른 저녁시간에 와서 바쁘지 않아 그랬을 수도 있지만 포르투갈어로 적힌 메뉴를 하나하나 설명해주셨다. 포르투갈 어느 가정집에 초대받아서 대접받는 기분이 드는 가정식 느낌의 음식. 맛있었고 엄청나게 배불렀다. 올리브랑 참치샐러드 같은것과 빵이 기본으로 3유로 좀 넘는 가격에 세팅된다. 난 올리브 안먹는데.. 아까비.

Had a great waiter who translated the menu and the host was friendly and welcoming. Great home cooked food, would go back again! Kitch decor, reminds me of pubs back in London.

Me and my friend had lunch there. A super friendly waiter explained all the dishes in perfect English to us and even recommended his favorites, which we in turn chose to eat (chicken in sweet soy sauce and tuna steak). The atmosphere was amazing, great jazzy music, a cute little cat and only a few seats, so cozy. When the waiter brought my food, but not my friend’s food, I decided to wait for hers, so mine got a little cold. I already ate my salad and a little bit of the chicken I ordered because i was so hungry and then I asked if they could microwave it, so me and my friend could eat together. They brought an entire new plate with a new chicken. That wasn’t necessary at all but I found it very warm and sweet. All in all a really great experience!!!!!!!! Would highly recommend!!

Bons hors d'oeuvre, bonne soupe de carottes, mais mon ami a eu des côtelettes encore surgelé à l'intérieur, le problème fût cependant vite résolu par le gentil serveur. Bons gâteaux pour le dessert.

Das Arco da Velha ist ein Delikatessen Restaurant das mir von einem Freund empfohlen wurde. Es gibt keine Karte und die Besitzerin kümmert sich persönlich darum einem die Gerichte des Tages zu erklären und einem bei der Auswahl zu helfen. Das Essen war mehr als köstliche bei gleichzeitig moderaten Preisen. Es ist gemütlich dort und man hat doch das Gefühl von Luxus. Es war das beste Restaurant das ich bei mehreren Besuchen in Portugal besucht habe. Ein Erlebnis und ich schätze mich glücklich diesen Ort gefunden zu haben.

This restaurant is something that you don't see all the time, the ambiente is antique and really nice, I felt like my old grandfather's house with all the portraits and old furniture. The price is reasonable and the service is really good.

Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem Restaurant. Ich war hier gleich zweimal Essen. Einmal habe ich eine Hühner-keule mit Kartoffeln und Salat gegessen und einmal einen Hackbraten mit Käse- und Dattelfüllung. Beides hat vorzüglich geschmeckt und war mit jeweils 8,50€ sehr günstig.
Die Namens gebende architektonische Eigenschaft für das Restaurant ist ein Roter Backstein Bogen der sich offen sichtbar mitten durch das Lokal wölbt.
Das Restaurant besteht aus einem Sammelsurium an antiken Möbeln und Dingen aus längst vergangenen Zeiten. Diese sehr heterogene Dekoration schafft eine sowohl interessante als auch gemütliche Atmosphäre die zum verweilen einlädt.
Besonders zu empfehlen ist hier die selbst gemachte Zitronenlimonade, welche mit Zucker gereicht wird zum selbst süßen. Die frische diese Getränks ist unvergleichlich gut.
Der Wirt war sehr bemüht, darum dass wir uns in seinem Lokal wohlfühlen. Der Service war sehr gut und jederzeit angenehm.
Dieses Restaurant ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Sollte ich wieder einmal in Lissabon sein, wir dies eine meiner ersten Anlaufstationen zur Stärkung sein.

Хорошее и недорогое место. Специфический интерьер. Все как с блошиного рынка. Даже запах интересный. Еда простая, не стоит ждать многого. Цены недорогие. Очень вкусные десерты, вино и чай. Можно провести вечер в компании в этом месте.

We loved this place. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Fantastic music and atmosphere. Decor looks like an antique shop and it feels like we took a step back in time. Friendly waiter and great service. Highly recommend.

Visitei na rota de tapas lisboa 2017. A pior tapa que comi no roteiro e fora dele. Basicamente pão com creme de marisco que parecia instantâneo.

That's an amazing place! There's no fixed menu and they have something different every day. Oh my, I've been here 5 times already! Cod fish is great, tuna steak and chicken leg were very very good.

Very cosy, excellent music, lovely decor. The service was very friendly and the English speaking waiter was keen to explain the Portuguese menu.
The food was excellent and traditional, excellent value for money and served promptly. Beware it is only small so book a table. A must really!

Food was ok but never going to this place again after they refuse serving a beer (he put the money on the counter) to what looked like a poor guy, not dressed in a fancy way like other customers. Being poor is not a crime.
