On rentre, on vous donne la carte et la on sait qu on est dans un resto attrape touriste avec le menu a photos en 5 langues, les "couverts" (fromage, beurre et olives payants).
Plats quelconques, les serveurs ne connaissent pas leur carte. Bref nous avons trouvé 100fois mieux pour moitié moins cher hors des sentiers/quartiers touristiques.
Ce restaurant n a aucun intérêt.

We only had sangria, which was good, but can't tell about the food quality. Didn't like the fact they were trying to put some food on the table and then to include this in the bill, though we didn't touch it. The waitress was great though

Polvo no azeite, muito saboroso, porção pode ser pequena para um pessoa com muita fome a 14,90. Recomendo muito o Bacalhau no forno à Moda do Minho, porção super bem servida e bem saborosa.

Mi ha dato l'impressione di vivere sugli allori di un passato glorioso.
Bei lampadari a forma di grappolo, art deco, vecchie stampe insieme a foto dei vecchi tempi alle pareti, sedie che poco ci azzeccano con il resto del locale ed un menù che spazia la cucina Portoghese.
L'acorda non era male, il vino bianco da 5/6.

ATTENTION: The extras (bread, butter, ham, cheese, olives) aren't a gift. You have to pay for it!
ACHTUNG: Die Extras (Brotkorb, Butter, Schinken, Käse, Oliven) sind keine Aufmerksamkeit des Hauses, sondern müssen gezahlt werden. Anstatt ca. 30 Euro mussten wir deshalb über 50 Euro bezahlen. Das Essen war zwar lecker, aber die Extras sind absolute Abzocke :( Schade, dass man so immer misstrauischer werden muss.

Restaurante clássico com bom serviço (do tipo mais formal), comida saborosa (pelo menos o polvo 'à lagareiro' que comemos estava muito bom), mas com preços talvez um pouco inflacionados (nota se que vive bastante de turistas).

Pedi uma caldeirada. O tempero estava bom, mas era nada mais que um pedaço de cação e um outro peixe que não consegui identificar, tinha muitas espinhas (cartilagem). Estava difícil de comer. Achei que não valeu a pena pelo valor de quase Eur 15. Minha esposa pediu um dourado na brasa. Muitos espinhos tb, difícil de comer. TB estava bem temperado, mas no geral não valeu a pena. Em 4 dias em Portugal essa não foi a melhor experiência gastronômica.

We were a group of 7 people. The service was very nice. Food could have been better. I order rice with clamps and shrimps and it was not very tasty. i didn't try ghe other food but the rabbit and octopus looked very dry. I didn't pay,but for the menu probably the price was overrated. House wine was very good though

Yo recomiendo que no vayan ponen entrantes sin pedirlos y después te cobran una pasada por ellos te enrollan para que consumas te cobran mucho y la calidad mala se aprovechan de los turistas el camarero cubanito tiene un morro que se lo pisa. El peor restaurante de nuestra estancia

Nettes kleines Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort. Es wurde darauf geachtet, dass wir unser Essen alle zur gleichen Zeit serviert bekommen.
Aber Vorsicht: Die kleinen Vorspeisen auf den Tischen sind Kostenfallen. Alles was angefasst wird, muss bezahlt werden und ist keinesfalls eine Nettigkeit oder einer Geschenk des Hauses.

Visitei o restaurante em meios aos festejos de Santo Antônio, um noite quente e animada de junho. Por conta do horário, próximo à meia-noite, o restaurante estava vazio, embora a rua estivesse cheia de gente. Ambiente e atendimento impecáveis. Cardápio simples, mas variado. Optei por bacalhau às natas e, na próxima visita, vou repetir. O restaurante é caro, contudo, a experiência compensa.

Situado en la zona de bares para tomarse copas con ambiente.
Camareros muy atentos y amables. Nos atendió un camarero cubano muy atento, nos tradujo toda la carta y nos hizo recomendaciones.
Tomamos unas almejas al ajo, costillas que estaban muy jugosas y cordón bleu. Nos lo trajeron acompañado de una fuente de patatas.

Lucky us it wasn't anything else open during lunch time in that area. We had a really nice meal. "Beef with home made fries / chips", very tasty.

If you like fish Alfaia is the place to visit in Lisbon (Bairro Alto area). I went there with my friend and we had a great time. Delicious food & fresh fish on the menu. Very attentive and polite staff will take care of you until you leave. I will recommend Tuna Steak or Sole.

My lamb chops came cold. I put vegetables on my plate before I returned them and it came back with a sad salad without the vegetables. Never got a menu for drinks and were surprised about the price for a beer (5.95) when we asked if that was the price the waiter was being rude. Definitely not a place for me to come back. The chips were good tho even if I just wanted to eat my vegetables. All in all disappointing experience....

Nice surprise in the Bairro Alto! Wegen we went for dinner in the middle of this very touristic area, we did not expect too much, so we were really surprised to find this place with really good food, nice service and reasonable prices. It was already a good sign that the waitors were not trying to convince tourists to come in or take a seat, obviously there are enough people who know about the place and enjoy it. We had a great evening with good and authentic Portuguese food and would definitely recommend it!

Ich habe eeit bessere Restaurants in Lissabon erlebt. Die Sardinen waren nicht frisch, schmeckten nicht.. Hatten einen sehr bitteren/gespritzten Beigeschmack. Ich werde nicht wieder hingehen und kann es nicht empfehlen.

J'ai pris le plat (traditionnel) "arroz de polvo", très médiocre aucune saveur identité, le poulpe est sûrement congelé (pourtant il expose en vitrine un poulpe entier et frais), le riz faisant penser a celui de oncle biens, enfin bref très mauvaise expérience et coûteuse pour la qualité

LO PEOR QUE HE COMIDO EN TODO PORTUGAL.
Los platos los trajeron a los cinco minutos de pedir, estaban recalentados.
Pedimos una de las recomendaciones de chef: arroz con pato (se supone) que estaba malo y sequisimo. Para coronarlo le pusieron cachos de chorizo frito. En fin.
De segundo la recomendacion de un camarero: raya (pescado). No tengo palabras para describir a que sabia aquello.
Cada plato iba con un acompañamiento de “regalo” (porque la carta ni te lo especifica): el arroz con un poco de lechuga y cebolla y el pescado con una pasta de malisimo aspecto echa a base de pan y huevo. Un sin sentido todo.
Dejamos practicamente todo en la mesa.
Cuando pensabamos que aquello no podia ir a peor nos rematan al traernos la cuenta.....frente a nueve euros que costaba cada plato el total ascendia a 40 euros. Por que? Porque nos estaban clavando 17 euros por una jarra de sangria que sabia a agua (dejamos mas de la mitad) y 3 por dos bollos de pan duros como piedras!!!!!!!!!
Para contentarte al final la casa te regala un chupito, el cual viene en un vaso minusculo y encima lo llenan por la mitad.....ni lo probamos, no fuesemos a salir de alli ya encima intoxicados!
Sinceramente, somos gente joven, de buen comer y con dinero justo, pero por mucho que nos doliera eramos incapaces de tragarnos aquello.
Espero que la opinion sirva para que nadie mas cometa el mismo error. Si se lee esta opinion: no te sientes y si ya lo has hecho levantate y vete!!!

El peor restaurante al q he ido en Portugal. Pedimos 4 cosas:
Pan: 2 bollos enanos encima duros como piedras q costaron 3€
Sangría de Vino tinto: COSTO 17€ pese a q estaba increíblemente sosa (la peor q he probado en mi vida pero eso sí traía bastante cantidad )
Arroz con pato: Se notaba q estaba echo hace horas y nos lo trajeron recalentado de mala manera junto con el segundo plantó. No estaba para nada bueno pero fue lo más pasable
Raya: Que es una especie de pescado con espinas de muy mal sabor la verdad.. Esto fue lo peor, encima venía acompañado de una masa de huevo y pan q sabía a rayos...
Para finalizar el camarero era desagradable y encima me pedía continuamente q le ayudará a recoger las cosas de la mesa. Ni a mi peor enemigo

Ik was blij te zien dat er buiten geen foto's op de menukaart stonden zoals bij de andere restaurants, maar binnen kregen we toch een kaart met plaatjes. Dat vond ik een jammer want dat haalt de verbeelding er toch een beetje af. De bediening is erg vriendelijk en het is leuk om te zien hoe klassiek er nog bediend wordt. Het eten was prima. Niet het lekkerste wat we ooit gegeten hebben, maar ik heb er toch zeker van genoten. Het was ook leuk om een keer konijn te proberen. Een beetje lastig te eten, maar het smaakt erg goed. Aan het einde ook nog een klein dessertwijntje van het huis gekregen. Dat was een leuke toevoeging. Het is een lief ouderwets restaurantje, en het eten is misschien niet het meest speciale wat er te vinden is in Lissabon, maar de vriendelijke behandeling maakte een heleboel goed. Ik raad ze alleen wel aan om die plaatjes weer van de kaart af te halen.

The staff are very sneaky and will place lots of food on your table (like bread, cheese etc) and try and charge you €€ for it. The quality of the food wasn’t great for the price. Most meals are around 15€.

Wir waren gestern mit der Familie mit 5 Leuten in dem Restaurant. Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam, das Essen war gut. Ich hatte gegrillten Schwertfisch, die Mädels Salat. Statt dem bestellten Sherry gab es Madeira - ok wir sind in Portugal. Preise waren soweit angemessen und transparent.

Sehr süßes Restaurant in der Altstadt von Lissabon. Man kann drinnen oder im Sommer auch draußen sitzen. Personal ist sehr nett, hilfsbereit und sehr aufmerksam. Einfache aber sehr schön angerichtete Speisen. Kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

One of my favorite restaurants in Lisbon. Authentic typical portuguese food with 140 years old in the heart of "Bairro Alto" serving fish and meat specialities and one of the largest wines menus I've never seen with a great atmosphere and fantastic service provided by its staff. Das Essen war sehr gut, sehr gutes Preis - Leistungsverhältnis. Angenehmes Ambiente und nicht so aufdringlich wie in einigen anderen Restaurants hier in der Nähe. Das Personal ist freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr hilfsbereit, wenn man mit Fisch nicht so vertraut ist. Nur bei den Vorspeisen muss man aufpassen. Da wird viel zu viel angeboten, aber es wird freundlich akzeptiert, wenn man keins möchte. Wir waren zweimal hier und beide Male war es top.

Very Racist waiters!!! Keep away!!!
I traveled from New York with my friend from Hong Kong. We had a wonderful time walking around the city and then when it's time for dinner, we saw this restaurant with outdoor sitting and the food looked good. We wanted to gave it a try. It was full at the time we asked for a table. The waiter said that it would take a few minutes and we noticed that we were the only party waiting. So we were fine standing aside waiting for the table. Then came a white couple standing next to us showing their interest to the waiter for a table as well. They were told to wait. Then, when there was a table available, the waiter gave it to the couple who obviously came later than us. I was so mad that I yelled at the waiter saying that we were there first. He shredded his shoulders pretended that he didn't know.... we decided to walk away. we couldn't help filling with anger and feeling being treated very unfairly because of our race. We love food and have traveled the world. We have not encounter such a bad experience in any of the restaurants we've been to. We also have given a high mark for the friendliness of this city. Unfortunately, Restaurante Alfaia stained the reputation.
That night, we ended up in the Oficina do Duque Restaurant just down a few blocks. It was lovely- the food was amazing and the staffs were super friendly. We had such a great meal and also be friended with our waiter.
Thanks for the horrible hospitality of the restaurant Alfaia that we ended up in such a good restaurant and ended our evening with good notes.
I hope when you read this review, you will keep away the Restaurant Alfaia. Seriously, there are so many other options that this city can offer. Why waste your time!!

Ein sehr ursprünglich portugiesisches Restaurant. Wir waren das erste Mal hier und es war toll. Für einen angemessenen Preis wird hier eine sehr gute, leckere Küche geboten. Klare Empfehlung!
An die Rezensenten hier, die sich über die angeblich überraschend berechneten Brote, den Käse, die Oliven oder den Schinken beschweren:
1. es steht in der (mehrsprachigen) Karte.
2. es wird noch mal mündlich deutlich darauf hingewiesen, dass es optional ist. Man nimmt, was man möchte, der Rest wird wieder abgeräumt und nicht berechnet.
3. das ist so üblich in traditionellen portugiesischen Restaurants (nennt sich: cuvert optional).
4. die Kleinigkeiten sind echt lecker und kosten nicht die Welt!
5. es ist wirklich reichlich! Kein Mensch kann allen Ernstes erwarten, dass das kostenlos ist. Es ist auch nicht zu vergleichen mit einem einfachen Brotkorb, der woanders gereicht wird.
Wir haben zu zweit für 57,- € inkl. einer Weinflasche gegessen. Im Vergleich zum 490,- € Silvestermenü ein paar Tage zuvor in einem anderen Restaurant ein klarer Gewinn!

Great food and amazing attention. Very nice and polite stuff. We ordered leitao and migas de marisco with some portuguese wine of the house. Both very well prepared, tasty and quite big portions. For deserts we ordered trouxas de ovos - traditional portuguese desert made of eggs and it was absolutely delicious. All in all delicious food, very good attention, nice and calm place with not so many people around and quite good prices - we paid 2 main dishees, some cheese for starter and desert with wine around 40 eurosh

The worst place you may visit in Lisbon. The water David brought a plate of cheese and bread and told it's optional. But he didn't tell the actual price
Once I ve asked a bill, he brought a bill with a cheese included. When I asked why I should pay for optional dish, he told me it costs 15 euros. Unfair and fraudulent place. Don't recommend to visit at all!

Une plainte à été déposée car se restaurant à des pratiques commerciales frauduleuses, il servent des produits sur la table sans vous dire que cela sera chargé sur votre addition (pain, petit fromage, beurre le tout pour 20€) inacceptable !! De plus la cuisine est digne d'une cantine ! Un côté de porc trop cuite une daurade insipide et un verre de vin "Maison" bon pour débouché des toilettes le tout pour la modique sommes de 52€.

Dans un quartier très animé, restaurant un peu plus calme que les autres, disposant de deux salles. Très bonne caldeirada (voir photo). La crème brûlée servie avec une boule de glace vanille. Digestif et petit chocolat offerts à la fin du dîner. Le bémol : Bien vérifier votre addition et ne pas hésiter à réclamer ; la corbeille de pain nous a été facturée alors que nous n'en avions pas consommé.

Waren dort weil kaum Plätze im Freien zu ergattern waren. Das Sitzfeeling ist ganz ok wobei man sagen muss das Kerzen besser aussehen würden als die LED Strahler über den Tischen.
Wie in den anderen Rezensionen erwähnt kommen die Kellner sofort und stellen Käse und Brot auf den Tisch. Kostet dann gleich mal 14€ ohne Bestellung. Man kann es aber auch ablehnen und da wird sich auch nicht beschwert. Das Essen war an sich gut. Die Dorade war ausgezeichnet und das Cordon Bleue war lecker. Die Pommes waren leider etwas labbrig. Alles in allem kann man dort essen, muss man aber nicht.

숙소에서 추천받았는데 괜찮아서 일정 중 두 번 방문했습니다. 음식 수준이 전반적으로 높아요. 가격대도 다양해서 부담없이 즐길 수 있습니다. 문어밥은 좀 짰지만 해물밥은 매우 맛있었습니다. 포르투갈 요리를 맛있게 즐기고 싶다면 추천합니다. 다만 좀 바빠서 그런지 주문도 까먹고 늦게 나오고 하는 일들이 좀 있었습니다.

Fuimos dos y Comimos bacalao a brass, atún plancha y una salchicha típica, todo muy rico y d calidad. Postre pedimos bolo d bolacha y tambien muy rico, no le pongo 5 estrellas porq pedimos vino verde d la casa y nos cobraron 15 euros por una botella d 75 cl. Por lo demás lo recomendamos, buena zona y buena ubicación en la terracita.

Contrariamente alle pessime recensioni lette, la cucina era ancora aperta alle h 23 e le pietanze di pesce niente male. Abbiamo bevuto la sangria, una caraffa, e il pesce, sardine, baccalà, polpo e tonno. Tutto buono. Locale ni!!! Totale pagato 58€ in 3 persone, escluso pane e antipasti che servono all'inizio. Buona vacanza!

We wanted to go to a different restaurant, but they were booked solid and suggested Alfaia. Food is okay . BE WARNED - they put lots of tidbits out as soon as you are seated (fresh cheese, olives, salami, basket of bread, butter, spreading cheese). All of it has a price and can add to your bill rather mightily. Ask for it to be removed immediately, unless you know the price of what you want. Also, their olives are awful. Worst we had our entire trip in Portugal.

Once again, stumbled across this place since they clearly advertise that American Express customers are welcome, take note travellers, I wasn't disappointed!
Some reviews rate the restaurant negatively due to the fact they charge for the, very clearly stated - optional - table snacks. Either these customers have attention issues or they aren't well travelled, a lot of European restaurants do this.
I had the fish soup for starters and caldeirada de peixe for mains alongside a carafe of locally sourced vinho verde. The food was delightful, and I say this in spite of the fact that I'm a, in my humble opinion, very discerning eater.
The sole reasons why Alfaia doesn't merit 5 stars is the fact that the pasta in the fish soup was slightly overcooked for my liking, plus the potato in the caldeirada was very slightly undercooked. Arguably however, this is a matter of taste.
In Alfaia's defense, I spent several hours at their establishment enjoying my meal and perching outside in their delightful Lisbon thoroughfare; if I wasn't content I would've spent an hour at most.

Sebbene il personale sia stato molto cordiale e puntuale, il cibo si è rivelato di qualità medio-bassa e molto pesante da digerire. Molto fastidioso il rincaro delle bevande che astutamente è omesso sul menù (non è presente il prezzo dell'acqua ne di alcuna bevanda, a fine cena abbiamo scoperto costassero almeno il TRIPLO rispetto i prezzi medi di Lisbona). Non ci tornerò.

Super over priced ordinary food, with bad service and disturbing staff. Funny thing: they fill your table with things you haven't ordered (cheese, olives, charcuterie...) and they charge you if you have something from the plates. I took a slice of bread and I've been charged 3 euros for it.

DO NOT EAT HERE. My wife and I were walking around Bairro Alto looking for a local restaurant for dinner. We looked for a restaurant that wasn’t completely empty and that didn’t have someone standing outside begging you to come in. Alfaia looked busy and had a nice menu.
Cutting to the chase... My wife ordered the Grilled Salmon and I ordered the Roast Suckling Pig. My dish came out half frozen. Not hyperbole... Literally half frozen. I found that out when I put a piece of it in my mouth and obviously had to spit it out. I told the waiter. He took a piece in his hand, felt it was ice cold, apologized and said he’d bring out scallops. I told him to forget about it, as I was a bit grossed out about having frozen raw meat in my mouth and had lost my appetite. 15 min later, my wife was done with her salmon (she liked it), and our waiter brought me out a grilled veal cutlet. Once again I told him I didn’t want it but he insisted we take it. I ate it. (Not great, very fatty). Then the bill came and they charged us for the veal! I politely asked for them to right the gross wrong by taking it off the bill, but the waiter and manager refused. The waiter said that we were being unreasonable, that they made up for it by bringing us veal, and it didn’t matter that the pork was “slightly undercooked”. He proceeded to raise his voice and say, “Are you American?” We’re still not sure what that was even supposed to suggest... but either way... There are MANY delicious restaurants in Bairro Alto. DO NOT waste any time at Alfaia.

Ótimo atendimento em uma casa simples mas histórica. Pratos da cozinha portuguesa bem servidos com preço acessível. Tente pratos com peixe mas as carnes também são bem servidas. Uma boa carta de vinhos com separação de vinhos por região de Portugal. Sobremesa Farofia muito saborosa e lembra um prato de sua avó. Dois salões com várias mesas mas no verão pode ser necessário reservar. Chegada a pé no restaurante.

Just okay. Many one star reviews complain about having to pay if you eat the bread, though this is a very common practice in Portugal. Food prices are on par with other restaurants in the area, and though the food is nothing to complain about, it's not cullernary journey that most other small restaurants in Lisbon take you on.

Let me start of with the wine card, damn this is extensive. I am yet to see a second restaurant to surpass this. Prices for all ofthe bottles are reasonable and even for 20 euro's you will have a red wine riped on oak barrels with a fresh taste (from Portugal ofcourse).
Prices for main dish are average (9-19 euro's) which, considering their steak was beautiful and their cordon blue was on point, is very good.
The service was very nice and, as it should be, we were not able to drink our glasses dry.
There is one final thing one should note though, the starters are pushed up in your face everywhere in lisbon. If you dont want any that is fine, if you do, just choose them. Dont be impressed and take your time. Not many tourists are used to this and will complain once they see the bill. Just take your time looking at the prices before chosing.
To conclude, a nice restaurant with a great deal of wines, good food and a nice atmosphere

Where to begin... there was six of us walkind about the barrio alto looking for a decent well priced meal and decided this place looked reputable. When we sat down they immediately placed before us three plates of bread, cheese, and meats and said something that we should try things. We took a few pieces of bread and then qondered are all theae things included? We looked in the menu and it was a total of 60 euros for these items so we asked and he said we only pay for what we touch. How outrageous a tactic is that? We said to take it away (after we has breathed all over the food)! They looked disapprovingly at us from then on. We saw that everything was quite expensively priced for the type of resturant. They didn't like that we only ordered a main meal each. When the food came the salmon was clearly reheated several times. And the potatoes were grey and also seems to be microwaved! A girl told them and they said they dont know what shes talking about. I must admit it looked terribly shabby and I know my food. The portions were super tiny. They ignored our complaints, scoffed at us, and we certainly did not tip. Found much better food and service elsewhere next day.

Bom serviço em baixa temporada. Inclusive sardinhas fora de época (e estavam ótimas). Eu fui de Filet de Atum com batatas - eles oferecem todos os pontos de cocção que você quiser. Carta de vinhos ENORME mesmo assim encontra bons vinhos por 15 a 20€. Eu optei por velho conhecido e delicioso Muralhas (verde) por €15.
O couvert de queijos oferecidos é cobrado apenas se você consumir. Lugar bonito, acolhedor e familiar. ( ainda recebemos uma cortesia da casa de “bolinho” de bacalhau que estava muito gostoso e um vinho licoroso)

Put starters to tempt you on the table. Very naughty. Fish stew was bland and stodgy.
That said, the wine was delicious. They also provided - gratis - some prawn soup and a digestif which were probably the best parts of the meal. They were really nice. Probably an attempt to bribe a review like this. Shows they're capable of something good, I guess?

Es sollte einem klar sein. Im Bairro Alto ist so ziemlich jedes zentrale Restaurant eine Touristen-Falle.
Eigentlich hätten meine völlig öligen Spaghetti nur 11 Euro gekostet. Aber mit diesen Brot und Käse-Späßen hat es mit einem Glas Hauswein 25 Euro gekostet. Der Service (die Jungs brauchen den Job) ist bemüht. Der Laden ist aber ein Nepp... Gar nicht erst reingehen. Es lohnt sich nicht.

Some prices on the menu posted outside are lower than on the menu inside the restaurant. Waiters will try and trick you into buying expensive starters by putting a plate of cheese and bread in front of you. If you send it back, it will be given to the next customer. Very questionable hygene procedures there. The prices for drinks are extremely high (6 Euros for a large beer when it is just 2-3 Euros elsewhere) and these prices are not made transparent at all outside the restaurant. We stood up and left after 5 Minutes of being treated badly and feeling very uncomfortable. Tourist trap, avoid at all cost!

As mesas estão dispostas de forma a aproveitar ao máximo o espaço disponível que, consequentemente, não torna o espaço muito confortável. Levei vários encontrões na cadeira por parte dos funcionários que estavam a servir a mesa atrás de mim. Uma pessoa do nosso grupo teve dificuldade em sentar-se justamente por o espaço ser apertado. A iluminação da sala pareceu-me fraca em certos pontos sendo possível ver pessoas a utilizar a lanterna do telemóvel para conseguir ler o menu.
As entradas são boas (azeitonas, queijo, presunto). A qualidade da comido é igualmente boa mas as doses não abundam na quantidade. Dos pratos que pedimos, apenas o arroz de cabidela veio em quantidade dita normal.
No final, a conta rondou os 25€, sem vinho, sem sobremesa e sem café.. Muito caro!

Nachdem wir alle vorab ergoogelten restaurants, wegen vegetarierunfreundlicher karte (war zu erwarten) oder voll besetztem lokal nicht ausprobieren konnten, trieb uns der hunger in dieses restaurant. Das aufstellen von vorspeise ohne danach gefragt zu haben (stinkender alter käse und schinken vor die nase meiner erwähnt vegetarischen begleitung) fanden wir bereits penetrant und unhöflich. Dass das mittelpreisige essen dann aber nicht einmal durchschnittlich war, gab unserem abend den letzten rest. Selbst die pommes schmeckten labbrig und waren lauwarm. Warscheinlich zusammengeklaubte reste. Vom vegetarischen gericht ganz zu schweigen. Null komma null punkte.

Terrible restaurant. I got the menu of the day with bread, soup, entree, drink, and coffee. For the bread, they just pointed to the bread on the table and said that there is the bread that comes with the meal. They charged €3 additional for the bread anyway. They also gave us no coffee. The entrees were terrible. One was a bread dish that was bland and looked like baby food. The other dish was extremely salty pork.

Wir sind eigentlich ganz zufällig hierher geraten, weil das ganze Viertel ja aus einer Unmenge von Lokalen besteht und es schwer ist, sich zu entscheiden, Hinterher habe ich in einigen google+ Berichten gelesen, dass das Restaurant als Touristenfalle beschrieben wird. So schlimm habe ich das nicht empfunden. Sicherlich ist es ein Lokal, das (wahrscheinlich ausschließlich) von Touristen lebt; aber das dürfte auf die meisten Restaurants und Bars der Gegend zutreffen. Das Essen wird ohne großes Brimborium serviert; irgendwelche stylischen Extravaganzen braucht man nicht zu erwarten. Ich hatte aber nicht das Gefühl, dass der Tourist hier einfach nur abgezockt werden soll. Man muss sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass alles, was einem die Kellner anfangs als Vorabverköstigung (Couvert) anbieten (Brot, Oliven, Käse, Schinken etc.), extra berechnet wird (ist hier aber in allen Lokalen so!). Wenn man kein Portugiesisch spricht und sich nicht hinterher mit der Bedienung darüber streiten will, was man verzehrt hat, lehnt man diese ganzen Sachen am Besten konsequent ab. Wir haben zu viert lediglich einen Brotkorb genommen (2,95 €). Das eigentliche Essen war durchaus in Ordnung; die Rechnung stimmte auch mit dem überein, was gebracht worden war. Die Atmosphäre auf der engen Gasse war durchaus urig. Ab und zu drängte sich ein Auto im Schritttempo hinter uns vorbei, obwohl man das Gefühl hatte, hier könne man unmöglich fahren. Das nahmen aber alle recht gelassen und ohne jegliche Hektik.

A bunch of cheaters. It was really uncomfortable, because we were not sure what they will charge for. In the result we were charged 2 Euro for things we didn't use. Stay away from this restaurant, there are better ones near.

Tourist trap. Say no to all extras they 'offer' it is not free. Food generally over cooked, Prepared without feeling or love, rather tasteless. But the wine was good value, Do not go there.

At first sight a good address but if you can compare with other restaurants afterwards it's a tourist trap. We orderd a plate with shrimps and we got garnals !!!

Quality/ price ratio is very good. I see several tourists expecting super cheap, but they should look at quality.
It's still very cheap, try eating fish elsewhere in Europe, you'll get frozen stuff for twice.
Atmosphere and waiters are good too.
White wine from Douro was good.
The olives and ham at the beginning are good, if you are here to notice that stuff go elsewhere :)

Bruttissima esperienza da evitare come la peste!
Entrare, mangiare e farsi derubare legalmente. ATTENZIONE al preantipasto sulla tavola. Ogni pezzo costa un occhio della testa (in altri ristoranti viene dato gratis. I piatti non sono buoni, ma di media qualità. Le ordinazioni al tavolo non arrivano tutte quante insieme, ma anche alla fine della cena. ATTENZIONE al conto!!!
Ci sono portate sbagliate, e le ordinazioni arrivate con 30-40' di ritardo (a fine cena quando ormai hai perso tutte le speranze) non le tolgono dal conto anche se le rimandi indietro. Quattro persone mangiato mediamente 125 Euro. Un FURTO!
