The street advertisement stated a €13 set menu (bread, soup, main, dessert and wine), however upon entering the restaurant we learned this menu was not available but they would give us a “special deal” on some of the items. They removed 90% of the fish / seafood options so we weren’t left to choose from many items. The wine glass was very small and the food was subpar. Overall, would not recommend.

Nous sommes venus dans ce «restaurant » en raison du cadre + fado (qui est excellent). Grave erreur!!!
Ce lieu est à fuir : nourriture immangeable, problèmes de propreté et des serveurs qui, comme le confirme les autres commentaires, ne sont pas professionnels!! Sans parler du prix exorbitant pour la qualité.
J’ai quand même apprécié le fado qui peut être écouté non loin du bar.
Bref, n’allez surtout pas dans ce lieu!!! Un attrape touriste!!!

A good place to relax, knock a few drinks down and munch on some really well cooked food. The main issue we faced here is that they don't have a take away system, so you're forced to finish a large portion of slightly expensive food.
The nice waiter though brought us a takeaway box for a euro, still, not very good.

I don't understand the terrible ratings here. We ordered a mixed plate of grilled fish and a dorade and both we're well done and not expensive at all, the mixed plate was only 15€. We also got a liter of sangria which tasted great (made with port wine) for 13€. The staff is quick if not too friendly.
4/5 would eat again.

La comida no estaba bien. Problemas de comunicación con el personal que pese a su voluntad no estás preparado para atender al turista. El pan viejo. Pedimos un plato y nos trajeron cosas distintas, del menú solo tenían un postre disponible... No vuelvo.

Arrêtez-vous 5 min pour écouter les chanteurs de fado, ils chantent de tout leur coeur mais n' y aller pas pour manger. Le service est désastreux! Le serveur nous a arraché les cartes des mains, ne nous a pas donné le menu présenté sur la rue, il m a retiré mon assiette alors qu elle n etait pas vide et que j étais occupée à manger....Du JAMAIS vu !!! Sans parler du patron qui fait les 100 pas, soupire et tire la tête devant les clients. Le chiffre d affaire avant tout...Nous n avons cependant pas mal mangé...

A mnie się podobało. Ciekawe otoczenie, kameralny zakątek ze swobodną atmosferą. Bez sztucznego zadęcia, charakterystycznego dla niektórych lokali w Alfamie. Fado w naturalnym wydaniu, również w wykonaniu właścicielki , a wszystko w cenie posiłku, bez względu na koszt zamówienia. Jedzenie proste i dobre. Można też siedzieć przy samym winie.

Das war das schlechteste "Restaurant", in dem ich jemals gegessen habe.
Die Caldo Verde war irgendeine Brühe ohne Geschmack und ohne der typischen Wurst-Einlage, der "Orangensaft" wurde aus Wasser und Pulver zusammengerührt, der Burger bestand aus kaltem, labbrigem Brot und einer Frikadelle. Keine Soßen, kein Salat, keine Tomate oder sonstiges. Dafür war das Fleisch aber immerhin noch teilweise roh...
Aus der Küche, die nicht wirklich als solche zu identifizieren war, hörte man immer wieder den Ton einer Mikrowelle, was auf die Zubreitungsart hinwies, die sich auch geschmacklich im Essen abzeichnete.
Am liebsten hätte ich mich vor das Restaurant gestellt und alle Leute, die mit dem Gedanken spielen dort zu essen, gewarnt.
Das einzig positive an diesem Restaurantbesuch war, dass ich gelernt habe vorher die Bewertungen zu lesen.

Me pedí de plato principal un bacalao a la portuguesa y, aparentemente, tiene buena pinta, incluso podrías pensar que está rico. Que no os engañen las apariencias. Estaba malo. El pescado estaba chicloso, las verduras no sabían a nada y el plato parecía una sopa de tanto aceite que tenía. El primero, que era un caldo verde, estaba bueno. El postre, sin más. A todo esto hay que sumarle que la atención era pésima, pasaban de largo por tu mesa y ni siquiera te miraban, y así una y otra vez hasta que a ellos les apetecía atenderte. Por lo menos el menú costaba 13€ e incluía primero, principal, bebida, postre y café. Pero aun así, si lo llego a saber, no voy.

Uwaga. Omijajcie ten lokal. Beszczelna i nastawiona na zarabianie obsługa. Nie zdążysz zjeść a juz wyrywają talerz. Jak byłem w połowie deseru to już miałem rachunek i kelnera nad sobą. Obok poganiali dwie kobiety bo za długo się zastanawiały. Małe porcje na spróbowania a nie żeby się najeść. Nie polecam. I jeszcze fado na bardzo niskim poziomie. Szkoda czasu. Właścicielka chciwa i niesympatyczna

Can echo the tourist trap comments and reviews. However the price is reasonable (€26 for two including drinks). Food is quite greasy, and staff is uninterested. Mains come while we are still eating the starter, yet taking away plates for the mains took a very long time while the waiter was just on his phone. He acknowledged us when we kindly asked him, but took another 5 before moving from his spot.

NEVER AGAIN!
-Die Tische stehen schräg, weshalb man sehr unkonfortabel sitzt.
-Der Service war unfreundlich und unangenehm.
-Rechnung war eine Notiz auf einem Zettel.
-Das Essen war mittelmässig bis schlecht.
-Man wartete trotz wenig Läuten sehr lange auf das Essen.
-Unsympathische Leute die ums Restaurant herumstanden und wahrscheinlich dazu gehörten.
-Der Chef räumte unsere halb vollen Getränke nach dem bezahlen gleich ab.
-Essen war nicht wirklich warm. Gefroren?
-stellt dir ungefragt vorspeisen im wert von 14 euro hin, dies an jedem tisch. Diese waren dazu nicht einmal gut, der fisch hatte keinen Geschmack, das Brot war nicht frisch und die Würste waren wohl 2 wochen alt.
-ein nicht motivierter mann drückt einem auf der strasse aufdringlich die karte in die hand.
-der einzige plus punkt war die fado.

Tourist trap! We stayed in an Aibnbn closeby and decided to give it a try... the first guy who greeted us didn't even speak Portuguese! They brought appetizers to our table with the tale that if we don't eat, we don't pay. We did not like that. We did not ask for it and if they leave it on our table and we don't eat that means they just take it to someone else's table? The waiters were extremely rude. I asked for a 500 mL beer and he acted as if I was crazy for asking for such an unknown thing. When I pointed to it in the menu, he said "that's 50 cL not 500 mL". Problem is, the menu actually said 0.5 cL, which is just absurd! The food was mediocre, a lot of it did not taste fresh. I really really do not recommend. Walk a few more streets and you can find some much better restaurants!

Une triste expérience du Fado et de la nourriture portugaise un plat de morue pas cuisiné ni desalles et plein d arêtes le poisson en sauce avec un bout de patate dans le fond en guise de legume et une vin très cher et mediocre une terrasse en pente et un Fado pas terrible, voilà une adresse à éviter a tout prix heureusement que nous avons bien mieux mangé ailleurs n hésitez pas à vous rendre a Cacilhas il y a plein de bons restaurants pas chers

Si le -10 existait, je l’aurais mis sans hésitation!
En effet, ce restaurant (on ne peut passer appeler ça un restaurant) m’a gâché ma dernière soirée à Lisbonne, les plats étaient infectes...
Les plats ne correspondent pas à ce qui est indiqué sur la carte. Mon compagnon avait pris un plat avec de la viande de Taureau, le plat est arrivé froid et la viande crue au milieu, j’ai pris le riz aux fruits de mer et aux crevettes, le plat est arrivé sans riz avec de la morue surgelée, pleine d’arêtes, et immangeable, le tout accompagné de pommes de terre et de deux gambas, à la fraîcheur très douteuse..
Le plat avait le goût du liquide vaisselle (je n’ai jamais mangé de liquide vaiselle, mais j’ai découvert ce que c’était)
Le goût était vraiment horrible, j’etais vraiment déçue, de plus les serveurs sont incompétents!
Enfin, leur terrasse est en pente, impossible de manger correctement!
À fuir absolument, et si par chance (pour les clients) le service hygiène passait par là, ce restaurant fermerait à coup sûr et nous éviterait une indigestion!

Slecht! Gelukkig hebben we voordat we wilden afrekenen de recensies bekeken, want we kwamen er inderdaad achter dat de bedragen op de bon te hoog waren! De vegetarische salade is niet aan te raden. Niet vers. Daarnaast loopt de baas als een soort dictator over het terras heen om zoveel mogelijk mensen aan deze massaconsumptie deel te laten nemen. Locale in pendenza quindi un poco scomodo, prezzi alti rispetto alla qualità (scarsa).dei piatti abbondanti. Il vino della casa è pessimo e costa 10€ per il mezzo litro. Camerieri bravi e veloci, scontrino non pervenuto. È aperto fino a tardi e anche la domenica quando altri posti in zona son chiusi.

היינו במסעדה בעת אירועי פסטיבל האביב בהן סמטאות רובע אלפמה מלאות בדוכני מזון ושתייה שהקימו תושבי המקום. בתקופה זו כמעט ואין למצוא מסעדות בהן ישנם מופעי פאדו, מוזיקת נשמה פורטוגזית. מאחר והיינו קבוצה גדולה, בעלי המקום הסכים לקרוא לזמרים ולנגנים על מנת שיופיעו ובתנאי שכל אחד מאיתנו יזמין לפחות 2 סבבים של שתייה. בזמן שסיימנו את סבב השתייה הראשון הגיעו 2 נגנים ושני זמרים, שכל אחד מהם שר 3 שירים. למרות שההופעה הייתה קצרה היא הייתה טובה מאוד. המקום יפה ונעים, אך צפוף. ניתן גם לשבת בחוץ. בכניסה ישנה מדרגה ועובדי המסעדה עזרו לאחד מחברי הקבוצה לעבור אותה עם כסא הגלגלים.

We were lured into restaurant by the sign that says “Fresh Sardines”, bring in Lisbon in July and knowing it is sardine season, we thought we give it a try. I can tell you the sardines were cooked well with a light hint of lemon dressing.
But be ware, the waiters usually come with recommended dishes and put them on the table and tell you if you eat, you pay. If you don’t, he comes and tales them away and you won’t be charged. They are not worth your money, so if you really want to try them, order them fresh from another restaurant. While sitting, we saw some people choosing not to eat the appetizers recommended, so the waiter brought them back to the kitchen, a while later, we see him carrying them out to another table. Whether they are the same dish or not cannot be confirmed,although I don’t see how a restaurant can afford preparing and then throwing out food every time a customer says he doesn’t want them.
All in all, it’s okay, but not recommended.

Cenar en el barrio de la alfama mientras escuchas fados por una cantante que lleva mas de 30 años cantando en una plaza muy bonita donde pueden jugar los niños, aunque la comida no sea gran cosa y el jefe o dueño del restaurante este todo el rato dando vueltas con cara de pocos amigos. De precio no es caro. Eso si, no pidas jarra grande de cerveza si no eres capaz de beberte todo un litro. Es una experiencia que recomiendo.

Nous n’avons pas eu le plat que nous avions commandé, les serveurs ne sont pas aimables et se moquent des clients. Les plats sont hors de prix pour ce que c’est. Nous avons mal mangé et les tables sont en pente donc impossible de manger correctement. Évitez à tout prix ce restaurant.
La comida está muy mala y es muy cara. No te dan la comida que has pedido. Los camareros se burlan de ti. Hay que evitar este restaurante porque la comida no es fresca, estuvimos enfermas.
A comida não é boa e é muito Cara.
Os servidores não são amáveis e desrespeitam. É uma vergonha.

Adding my review to the multitude of others that should tel you to stay away! Definitely a tourist trap. Food has no flavor. The starters we ordered were clearly not made fresh and had been sitting under a hot plate for some time making them inedible. Definitely avoid!

Acolhedor, mesmo com o rigor do inverno,simpatia no atendimento é um menu variado, ótima escolha para um jantar em hambiente tipico e verdadeiro. Ouvi bom fado cantado por vários fadistas, em estilos diversos. Surpreso reparei que outros clientes apenas com uma bebida desfrutavam de toda a envolvencia de um bairro típico, a ouvir fado é simplesmente registar o momento. Gostei e além da recomendação é para voltar.

Il peggiore ristorante che ho incontrato nella vita. Non merita neanche 1 stella, e' pessima la qualita' del cibo, un imbroglio quando vi portano alcuni piattini prima della cena ve li fanno pagare molto e il prezzo finale e' molto alto, niente a che vedere con altri ristoranti della zona. Assolutamente da sconsigliare.

My wife and I went for dinner early. She got the fish stew and I got the grelhada. Both were delicious. The broth for the stew was particularly good. Plus we got a fado show, which was a nice plus. Check this restaurant out if you are in Alfama - nice spot.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We had just arrived in Alfama and clumsily stumbled on this place while searching for another restaurant that we couldn't find. Waiter was SO unfriendly, bread was ridiculously stale and other apps were extremely sub par given our other eating experiences. Ugh! Wish I checked Yelp first. Stay away!

Great singers and ok food, but service is not attentive at all. They also give you a hand written bill and you'll have to be careful with the calculation. Everything was fine only after I asked for a printed receipt, which they reluctantly provided.

I found the stale bread to be quite effective for leveling out my cod fish soup. Sangria was actually calimocho (which I happen . House wine was not good. Sardines were bathed in oil and not gutted. The Fado was fun but there are better joints in the neighborhood.

Look, I don't disagree with the other reviews. The food is mediocre at best (even the tea is from a Lidl brand) and the place has all the markings of a tourist trap. But, hear me out. The good, traditional, Fado places are so small that you won't get in without a reservation and the other (bigger) places didn't look so good as well. So, the octopus had 8 tentacles, the salmon was definitely a fish, there was wine and it wasn't horribly expensive AND there is Fado. Now, I'm no Fado expert, but the singing and musicians where good, we really enjoyed it. So this places gets the 3 stars because it made Fado accessible. Otherwise there would have been no Fado for us.

Invited (by the herders outside on the street) to dine and listen to free FADO music, and the high prices of food and drinks suggested it was a relatively good dining facility - WRONG. The outside Tables are on a fairly severe slope and certainly not conducive to comfortable dining. Both the Food and Drinks were not up to any normal standard. Curiously, they would not sell wine by the glass but by the Carafe - strange - and my wife left half of hers behind because it was not good. My orange juice was small and I was charged 5 Euro and when I questioned that I was told it was to pay for the (free) FADO music. AVOID THIS PLACE if you can and do not be persuaded by the herders. Despite all this, our experience at all the other eateries we visited made our visit to Lisbon a pleasant one.

Overpriced place. Restaurant offering fado for “FREE” but the restaurant there is no structure for music or acoustic. It is impossible to talk inside. The food wasn’t great as well. I ordered a octopus that came in small pieces. More potato that octopus. Lisbon is getting expensive and tasteless.

This place is a S C A M !! Order a large beer and be given a litre stein and charged €10 for the pleasure. Eat any of the 'complimentary' small plates of crusty ham and cheese and be charged. This you get to enjoy whilst sitting at a 45° angle, with music that is always starting 'in 10 minutes'

Don't go here! Definately a tourist trap. I ordered the fish platter (for €18,00!) and never had such disgusting food in a restaurant before. Fish was extremely dry and greasy; I barely ate anything because it was so gross. The salad and lemon wedges were warm. Most definately came out of the microwave (I think it got heated up more than once). My boyfriend went to the bathroom later on and actually saw the cooks put platters into the microwave. When the waiter took away our plates I told him I thought the food was very bad, at which he did not respond. To make everything else worse, the waiter put food on our tab which we did not order (bread with cold cuts when we sat down, so we thought it was free) and turned out to be €12,00. The response of the waiter? You eat, you buy. Unbelievable. Definately my worst spent €55,00. Such a shame, because the location is great and the Fado Music is terrific.

Solo tomamos una copa. Los camareros con cara de cansados, los artistas que tocaban y cantaban fado muy buenos y de calidad pero el público malo, turistas desconsiderados, hablando a viva voz, riendo y grabando de cerca a los artistas, o pidiéndoles paso mientras actuaban. Los propietarios se deberían preocupar más por esto porque da muy mala imagen de respeto y consideración. En otros lugares te piden silencio y te animan a disfrutar del espectáculo con respeto.

Catastrophique!!!! L'acceuil est vraiment nul!!!
La serveuse nous a apporté un plat que nous n'avions pas commandé et refusait de comprendre que ce n'était pas le bon et nous accuse de mentir.
Ils allument la clim juste au-dessus de nous a 17°C alors que personne ne se plaint de la chaleur.
Et enfin, ils refusent que l'on sépare l'addition alors que l'on est venu manger à 16...
Fuyez absolument ce restaurant!!!

La comida deja mucho que desear: congelados, pescado sin sabor y el postre más de lo mismo. Lo único que vale la pena es que hay fado en directo pero están todo el tiempo cambiando de local (el restaurante tiene como tres) y se puede ver desde la calle igual.

Ce "restaurant" ne mérite même pas une étoile, nous avons attendu plus d'une heure avant d'être servie. Les toilettes étaient dans un état lamentable, on ne sait pas si c'était de l'eau ou autre chose par terre, ne vaut donc mieux pas savoir l'état des cuisines. Une fois les assiettes arrivé, désastre ! Des salades de poulet avec du poulet pas cuit, des steaks haché surgelés immangeables, aucun assaisonnement. Je ne recommande pas du tout cette endroit, chère pour ce que c'est. Attrape touriste à fuir !!

We had the octopus with vegetables, Sardines and Salmon. The servers are very friendly and fast. The Fado was the highlight of our night at this Restaurante, 4 different singers, my favourite was Ana Cesar I bought her CD. Delicious food, amazing atmosphere it is a hidden gem. The owner is very professional and walks around making sure everyone is happy and served. I give this place 5 stars . Thank you ❤️

Great Fado music at night, good food, the beer is reasonably priced. Many many places in Lisbon are tourist traps but this one really wasn't in terms of quality of food and price. The prices were only slightly above the other great local restaurants that locals go to. Beautiful location and with great weather the perfect spot to spend an afternoon or evening.

Wir haben uns von einem “freundlichen“ Kellner überzeugen lassen, das Restaurant zu besuchen, da es dort ein ganzes Menü “so günstig wie Mac Donalds, aber real food“ gebe. Das Menü bestand aus aufgewärmter Fertigsuppe, Omlett mit Tiefkühl- und Dosengemüse, Reis und labberigen Pommes bzw. in Öl schwimmenden Spaghetti mit Tk-Gemüse bzw. gegrilltem Fisch, der ok war, aber leider konnte der Kellner nicht erklären, was man davon alles wie essen kann.
Nachtisch konnten wir erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen bestellen, wir bekamen dann einen kleinen Klecks mittelmäßige Schokomousse.
Das Rückgeld kam erst, nachdem wir darauf hingewiesen hatten, dass uns noch 7€ fehlten.
Insgesamt sehr sehr schlecht, schade, dass wir so naiv darauf reingefallen sind und davor keine Google-Bewertungen durchgelesen haben.

I don’t understand all these terrible reviews. We ordered off the 13 euro specials menu and it was delicious. The special comes with, bread, a soup, beer and/ or wine, entree, dessert and coffee. We ordered: octopus, chicken salad and a cod and rice dish. We also ordered from the normal menu and got cod soup and pimiento salad. Everything was delicious!! Beer and wine is inexpensive and tasty. Then musicians began playing and two singers sang fado music which was a beautiful end to the meal. We came just after lunch around 15:30 (3:30 for people who don’t understand 24 hour time) and we just relaxed enjoyed the atmosphere. Awfully service, appitizer not ordered but putted on the table . If you eat them, you will have to pay them. Not clearly explained . Desconfortável, uma vez que as mesas e cadeiras ficam na calçada descendente em frente ao restaurante. Mas isso vê-se antes de sentar, pelo que nesse aspeto sabíamos ao que íamos. O pior foram as sardinhas que nos serviram, descongeladas, de um ano que nem me atrevo a tentar adivinhar. Nada aconselhável, enquanto não melhorar. E para que melhore, é preciso deixar de ir (?).

Só mais um assalto em Lisboa!
Um grupo de 8 pessoas em que uma só comeu uma sopa e outro estava doente então não comeu muita coisa.
Pedimos somente umas febras, sardinhas e algum vinho.
Comida não era nada fora do comum.
Mesas apertadas e inclinadas.
Não é o nosso espanto quando vimos que a conta a dividir por todos (mesmo os que comeram pouco) foi 20€ por pessoa.
Inaceitável!

Claro que onde eles enganam as pessoas é com as entradas... Cesto com 2/3 pães secos a 4€. Pastéis de bacalhau a 6€... Etc etc

My 1st one star to a restaurant. People, avoid this place! They tried to steal 7 euros by increasing the price of each food we ordered in the bill. When told to show the menu to check the real prices, they brought back with the good one. No appologies, nothing, not even a word! Poor food quality for such high price.

Tourist trap. Trying to sell you all kinds of stuff, they put appetizers in front of you when you’re hungry (if you eat, you buy. Of course you eat, you’re hungry!). Sangria was good. Food was okay at the moment itself. But one day later I was sick.. really sick. I suspect food poisoning! A typical tourist trap where you are dragged in by a staff outside of the entrance.
As soon as you sit down, you will be served a basked of bread and cheese - only take it, if you want to pay for it. That’s quite a common thing in most of the restaurants in Portugal.
The fado music was alright though, however can’t compare as it was our first time listening to it.
Food was average. €15 for a roasted octopus.
Bottles of wine are expensive. €20 for bottle of Muralhas (popular vinho verde) that you can buy for €3,75 at any shop. You will be better ordering a 0,5 l of their house wine for €10.
Waiters were fine.
Well. Most of the time we choose a place based on trip advisor reviews. Once we didn’t and we got screwed.

Really poor restaurant experience. Food was not what you would expect. Much of it over cooked or not fresh. Fado was ok apart from frequent breaks.
The thing that makes this a 1* and not a 2* is the waiter. Reading the other reviews, I can tell we all had the same waiter! He’s in his 50s, maybe 60s and was completely unfriendly and unhelpful throughout. Actually he was plain RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. We were not the only customers who had to physically get up and chase after him when he ignored our loud excuse me’s in multiple languages.
Plus he got our orders wrong. He brought a port at the start of the meal despite us not having ordered one. I let him know and he just looked at me like I was lying. So we agreed to keep the port and pay for it. He said absolutely nothing to acknowledge that I was doing him a favour. He forgot our chorizo and when I reminded him he turned up with it in seconds. Except that it was mostly very dry and over cooked (not looking like the picture at all) and I had the impression he had scooped up lots of bar snacks!
He continued to ignore us and to throw our cutlery about when eventually clearing up.
When the bill came, it had us down for €12 of covers despite us not touching the croquettas. He claimed this included a starter (why on earth would it be in covers then??) and the rest of the bill was indecipherable. For instance - money against soup, which none of us had. If I wasn’t with my gf’s parents I wouldn’t have paid and would have had a loud argument with the guy.
I’m gutted that we fell into this tourist trap given the other restaurants around. Please don’t make the same mistake we did and check google first!!!
Ps. either that waiter is the owner, or the owner can’t use the Internet!

Wir können die vielen schlechten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen: unsere Speisen waren lecker, das Coperto haben wir natürlich bezahlt, wurde uns aber auch nicht aufgedrängt, die Wurst liessen wir z.B. zurückgehen, ohne Probleme. Bedienung korrekt und nett. Preise günstig.
Die Fado Darbietungen allerdings nicht besonders.

To whom this may concern,
I cannot understate the importance of this review, so please read carefully.
My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of horrific.
First, we arrived at the restaurant to a series of "free" appetizers, which the waiter failed to mention were subject to charge. Next, we ordered "large" beers, which were 10 euros/person. Once again, the waiter intentionally misguided us regarding the price.
Second, to say that the food was horrendous would be a vast understatement. The fish was filled with bones, wreaked of garlic, and tasted like salt water from the Dead Sea. All 7 of us were beyond disgruntled with the quality and quantity of our food.
Third, the meal featured a musical performance which was distasteful at best. My friend was "shushed" numerous times for conversing and the man who performed looked/smelled like a poorly-groomed homeless man off the streets of New York City.
Finally, the price was egregious. Each of us spent upwards of 30 euros for what was, all in all, a terrible experience plagued with failures at every level.
Overall, I highly recommend that everyone steer clear of this hoax at all costs.

I ordered a fish plate with potatoes but got crockpot, which I really hate. The waiter didn’t really understand English and was kind of useless. The sangria (green one) was the worst in Lisbon or even the worst I ever had. The only upside were really good fado singers, but they left after two songs. Just do not go in there, it is expensive and bad.

Ziet er gezellig uit, maar erg klantonvriendelijkheid. Met de hete adem in de nek zo snel mogelijk bestellen. Eten is er snel, maar afrekenen ... wachten, wachten. Wordt anders het terras te leeg? Wijn is alleen per minimaal halve liter te bestellen.
De live Fado muziek bestaat vooral uit pauzes. Geen aanrader.

Schönes Restaurant mit Fado Musikvorführung. Es wird eine unbestellte Vorspeise auf den Tisch gestellt. Die Qualität ist eher schlecht. Es werden Getränke gereicht auf Bestellung - teuer. Gäste an den Nachbartischen waren unzufrieden mit ihren Hauptgerichten. Die Küche im Restaurant ist einsehbar, schlechter Eindruck. Hätte ich vorher Google Rezensionen gelesen, dann hätte ich keine 9 Euro für eine schlechte nicht frisch vorbereitete Vorspeise, die ich nicht bestellte, und ein Bier bezahlt.

The house wine -very overpriced as well- had a powdery residue and when we asked the server he tried to convince us that this is something normal for wine in general..

I tavoli sono posti su una discesa di sampietrini molto pericolosi : durante la cena una turista è caduta rovinando sul tavolo accanto e rompendo bottiglie di vino , bicchieri e piatti dei vicini. Purtroppo i camerieri sono stati abbastanza indifferenti nell' aiutare la sfortunata , e tantomeno il malcapitato vicino , rimasto senza vino e con le scarpe impregnate dello stesso.
Il polipo era pieno di sabbia.
Malgrado avessi chiesto espressamente cibi senza aceto . Ci è stata fornita un' insalata con decorazioni di aceto balsamico dallo stesso cameriere NON voleva rilasciare lo scontrino .
La musica dal vivo è stata intervallata da molte pause per i chitarristi alquanto stanchi.
Prezzi alti non giustificati dalla qualità ne dalla musica
Meglio cercare altrove .

Arrived in Lisbon late Sunday evening and wanted to taste the beauty of Portugal. I did not find it here. All I found was slimy Sardines, very unfriendly staff and dirty tables. Horrible place!

good fado, very VERY bad food. we got grilled fish for two - total desaster. octopus tasted like burned wells of a car, tuna was superdry, salmon without taste at all, sardines burned... dont do it.

Die Qualität der Speisen - wir waren mit 6 Personen hier und haben „querbeet“ bestellt - ist auf niedrigem Niveau. Von Sand im Salat über vertrockneten Fisch bis zu Cola im Sangria war alles dabei. Wir ziehen weiter und gehen davon aus, dass es schlimmer wohl nicht werden wird.

O local é bonito em um bairro histórico, mas o restaurante não é confortável. As mesas são muito próximas umas das outras e os aromas dos pratos se confundem. Os garçons são atenciosos e o Fado começa às 18hs e não para, vários cantores se revezam. O bacalhau com natas foi o melhor prato que experimentamos.

Worst service and food ever. Ordered beer a couple appetizers and water. Only the water and 1 of the few appetizers arrived. We tried to get the rest but the server didn't care. We tried to pay and he charged us for everything, we had to fight to get the tens we didn't had removed from the bill. Finally we wanted to pay with card and he said they didn't have machines, we didn't had cash so after a while he said go pay in the machine inside! Worst experience ever.

Visited in the middle of the most crowded summer season, but we get the food very quickly, which was very delicious and big portion of seafood. From this point of view the place is very recommendable!

We have been here for fado on sunday evening. Unfortunetly, we barely heard nothing because od people chatting ( fado takes place outdoor), but the real problem was the food, which has given us stomach problem the data after. We have been eating rice with seafood and bachalau croqeuts- they were pretty good , yet it was not anything special. The portions were pretty Big though - one main dish and one/two starters sound just fine for two persons

This is the worst restaurant I have ever visited. Myself and my boyfriend visited here on our last night in Alfama. We were intrigued to see what it would be like as it looked idealic in the romantic side streets of Alfama. We sat down at a table after being rudely directed to it. We were not served or even greeted for at least 5 minutes by which time I had to ask the waiter for a menu to order. We sat again for five minutes and decided we would leave. But then were given two starters which we did not order. Some foul cod fritters which were cold and tasteless and slab of cheese. The waitress was unhappy looking and frankly rude when I asked her why we had been given this food if we had not ordered it. No doubt this is a ploy to get unsuspecting tourists to order even more food on top thinking that these additions were free. Realising what they were trying to do myself and my boyfriend ordered only mains. What came was at first appetising looking until we looked more carefully. I ordered fish stew which looked and tasted like it has been made from left overs of other people's meal. The prawns were so tough I couldn't chew them and the sauce tasted like packeted sauce. My boyfriends meal was even worse. The 'meat' platter was a array of various disgusting congealed sausages. The meat looked grey in colour. The fries were cold and undercooked and the salad looked like it had been taken off a display window all day and dumped on his plate. It was frankly festuring. I felt terrible for the beautiful Fado singers who looked tired and over worked. The guitar player was falling asleep playing! My best advice for them would to be get away from this vile place and find another restaurant. I am very disappointed but it hasnt altered my view of Lisbon. Don't go to this tourist trap. Bring on Porto!

На первый взгляд приятная атмосфера, фаду, много народа. Но в начале нашего застолья нам принесли жареные колбаски и хлеб (хотя мы не просили), комплимент подумали мы, но в конце ужина хлеб и колбаски были внесены в счёт. В завершение нас добили тем, что 20 минут несли сдачу. В общем советую обходить стороной это заведение

Ungefragt wurde uns eine Portion Brot und gebratene Wurst auf den Tisch gestellt, so dass man davon ausgeht, dass es zum Essen dazu gehört und inklusive ist. Zumal uns nicht unterschiedliche Vorspeisen zur Auswahl gestellt wurden . Auf der Rechnung berechnen sie dann dafür 6€. Zudem sehr unfreundlich als wir den Angestellten darauf angesprochen haben. Haben ein Fleischgericht bestellt und die Qualität (unter anderem War der Reis kalt) ließ wirklich zu wünschen übrig. Also wirklich MEIDEN!

Nous y avons dîner un soir de semaine.
Nous avons commandé des beignets de morue, du melon avec du jambon cru et un riz végétarien.
Mis à part le melon tout le reste était immangeable : beignets froid et sans saveur, jambon fade et riz chaud trop cuit mélangé à toutes sortes de légumes (maïs, haricot, carotte, champignon, olives, tomates, salade, concombre, brocoli)de quoi donner la nausée rien qu'en regardant ! Le tout servi par des serveurs très désagréable !
Enfin le prix est monstrueusement élevé pour la qualité des produits ! À fuir !!

Un autentico desastre! 45 miutos en servirte....y preparate para la cuenta!!!!! Agua y entremeses que te ponen sin pedirlo....que al final te van a cobrar si o si. Te venden cds,te dan flores! Al final se encargan de darte el palo. El trato frio y desagradale! New york sale mas barato que lisboa! La deuda con europa parece que la quieren pagar con los turistas. Desstroso el restaurante.

Awful! Disgusting behaviour from the waiters, one particularly rude waiter who wouldn't allow my friend to go to the loo while we waited for our table and laughed at her struggling.
The food was inedible, I could barely eat my stagnant fish stew and my boyfriends "steak" (if you can call it a steak - it had a slice of what looked like bernard Matthews turkey thin ham on top with a fried egg) was grey.
You can only order wine by the litre, I'd love to know if there is a valid reason for this. Probably not.
The rest of the service was abysmal - bad tempered staff who need to learn some basic manners. My two year old nephew is more capable than these jokers.
Least to say my boyfriend and I have been sick and unable to enjoy the rest of our holiday due to severe food poisoning, it's now Thursday and are just about recovering from visiting this awful place on Sunday.
Lisbon is an incredible place and has some fabulous places to eat at, make sure you go to all of those and stay well clear of this monstrosity! Beautiful Lisbon, we will be back to make up for the last four days we have lost!

Restaurant with fado music. They bring you starters before you ask. I personally dont like it as this is like forcing the client to oder more. If you want sangria you have to order one liter minimum :(

Authentic tourist attraction yes. Fado music yes, cheap fish stew yes (absolutely tasteless). Wouldn't go for the food, maybe just a glass of Porto Tinto which was nice.

I accidentally discovered this beautiful place where we felt great. I ate very well, fresh seafood and delicious, I drank a delicious white sangria and listened beautiful fado. It may seem disturbing indeed come to an end with CDs but only asks you not force you. We preferred to have him in this version at home and I bought but no one forced us. We listened and remember Lisbon. I recommend this place.

Nous voulions dîné en couple en écoutant quelques morceaux de fado, nous avons eu ce que nous voulions.
Mise à part l'apparente mauvaise humeur du serveur, qui au passage montre bien qu'il n'a aucune envie d'être au bouleau, nous avons pu profiter d'un bon repas pour 50e par personnes. Avec Accra de morue, assiette de chorizo grillé, deux plat et deux boisson.
Excelent chanteur qui, comme dans tous les restaurants de fado, veulent vendre leurs CDs.
La terrasse doit être agréable en été. En cette période et avec le vent, un peu moins. (Début mars)

A nice place. Hidden in the heart of Alfama, it has good seafood and fado singers. Prices are decent and the service is ok.
