The apartment was extremely well equipped and loads of space. We particularly liked the coffee machine with coffee supplied ! We also like the fact that the buildings are all only 2 storey high so you dont feel trapped in within the complex. The apartment as well as the pool and surrounding area was lovely and clean.

La verdad es que el nombre "Placid Village" no podía estar mejor escogido. El silencio y la tranquilidad de este complejo de apartamentos es increíble, por la noche no se escucha ni un solo ruido. También es cierto que está donde Almanzor perdió el tambor, totalmente alejado de la civilización. En abril de 2019 las villas estaban totalmente renovadas, todo limpísimo y nuevo, una maravilla. Los apartamentos están bien equipados y son amplios y cómodos. El único inconveniente es que no hay una cafetería dentro del complejo así que el primer día toca llenar la nevera para ser autosuficientes, porque si necesitas algo no lo vas a tener a mano.

Excellent accommodation hidden in the hills, especially good for anyone who has to care for an autistic child, try it and you'll know what I mean. I would definitely use again, and recommend a hire car if you want to make the most of it!

Just returned from a 4 night stay in Placid Village. The apartment was a great size and modern and nicely appointed. However it had a large ant colony walking through the living area and a cockroach in the kids bedrooms which left me feeling it wasn't as clean as it should be! I was told the towels for the pool couldn't be replaced for the duration of a stay...in a cheeky tone I was advised I had a washing machine and could use it if I needed them clean!!! Shame it broke and flooded leaving this impossible. (It was replaced but too late for our stay) .
Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend Placid Village to my friends but would return to Carvereio as it's a great location. Staff are friendly but need more training to help them when problems arise .... Being told cockroach is a delicacy in some areas is not helpful when your kids are screaming at one in their room! Being told to take your money and use the supermarket washing machine also not helpful when the machine has just flooded...

Clean, modern and peaceful apartments, equipped with everything you need. Common pool available, parking is also available. 10min away by car fron the city centre. Definitely recommend

Really nice apartments, seem to have been renovated recently. Pool was quiet, no too big but enough for the kids to play in and for us to cool off.You can walk into town from the apartment, its about 1.2k. Taxi back at the end of the night is only a few euros.Would recommend to stay here

El apartamento de 3 dormitorios super espacioso, bien decorado y no he podido echar nada en falta, muy completo, con un baño en suite, camas y almohadas cómodas, quizá corto de menaje, la piscina, en estos ultimos dias de septiembre algo fria, lógico. Indispensable gps, pero merece la pena, y muy bien de precio, nos ha encantado

The standard of accommodation was so much better than expected: modern, well-equipped and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout.I had read a couple of negative reviews prior to arrival which had left me with what proved to be totally needless concerns; Placid Village simply isnt in the middle of nowhere and impossible to find, nor are the roads so full of potholes that taxis refuse to go on site - has whoever wrote that driven in the UK lately?Placid Village is a very simple 15 minute walk from the centre of Carvoeiro (2nd right, 1st left!!!) or a 5€ taxi ride (best late at night, taxis plentiful and safe).Any negatives?Perhaps one large, unusually loud, atypical group of guests and the building work next door did mean Placid Village didnt quite lice up to its name but thats hardly their fault and the many positives far outweighed these negatives.If, as a grumpy, turning 60 perfectionist, I am happy to recommend the place then it cant be too bad! Seriously though, in a great setting and close to ever popular Carvoeiro, Id happily go back any time.

Son apartamentos como de semi lujo... Con todo lo necesario para pasar días allí. Muy limpio y bien decorado. Con una terraza/balcón con privacidad, espacioso, camas cómodas, y piscina. Lo único malo es que no tiene propio bar y que hay que ir en coche a la zona más céntrica dado que todo Carvoeiro está en una montaña.

We had an appartment on the ground floor. The decoration was really nice, very clean, we had a nice balcony. The area around is quiet, perfect for those who want to relax but be close to a town. I wish they would leave some basic things for the appartment, like soap for the dishes of the dishwasher as well as soap for the washing machine. We missed some basic kitchen utensils like a cutting board. This could be improved. But definitely a cute village, I recommend.

Appartement très propres et spacieux avec une jolie décoration. Les infrastructures sont récentes et bien entretenues avec une jolie piscine.
Au calme dans les terres tout en étant à proximité de la mer et du magnifique village de carvoeiro authentique et chaleureux dans lequel vous trouverez avec beaucoup de bars et de restaurants.
Pas vraiment de service hôtelier: ménage très limité, pas de bars ou de petit déjeuner. Une réception disponible et un accueil chaleureux.

We come here every year. It has now chenged hands and has been rebranded and the place refurbished. Fresh paint and some new modern fittings look great. It's a comfortable stay with everything you need, including air conditioning. A short walk from the town centre and beach and relaxing pool area. The pool. Area could do with a BBQ!

Eine sehr schön und ruhig gelegene Anlage. Die Apartmentanlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Man kann einen Mietwagen direkt vor der Anlage gut parken. Placid Village ist sehr gut zu erreichen, zum Zentrum von Carvoeiro kann man gemütlich in 15 bis 20 Minuten laufen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

This a apartment style property(1 n 2 bed room) with swimming pool n kids pool.
It has all the amenities you need to be in a home including a fire place.
This is best place to stay if you have a far as it quiet n neat
It's just five mins drive from carvoeiro beach.
Above all it has such a wonderful hosts Nuno and Maria Jose who were so helpful in all means.
You have all kitchenette to cook ur self, ironboard, dishwasher, fireplace, AC. You name it u have it. But u would need a car r taxi(which are reasonably priced)
My four star is mainly for the hosts n the silent nature of the apartment.

Das Appartment sehr schön eingerichtet und riesig für 2 Personen, alles sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Ich würde der Unterkunft folgendes raten:Da das Frühstück ins Appartement gebracht wird, wäre es sicher sinnvoller am Vorabend einen Zettel auszulegen, wo man die gewünschten Speisen ankreuzen kann. Wir hatten jeden Morgen von Allem ZUVIEL. Wir konnten das mit 2 Personen unmöglich alles essen. 1 Liter Milch pro Tag für 2 Personen ist zuviel. Nicht jeder isst Cornflakes oder Müsli morgens. Um Verpackungen zu sparen finden wir den Vorschlag mit dem Zettel eine bessere Lösung.

Ein Hotel für Familien die in ruhiger Lage ihre Ferien verbringen wollen. Für Ausflüge empfiehlt sich ein Auto. Es gibt viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und Freizeitangebote für Erwachsene und Kinder die man besuchen kann.

The apartment I stayed in was incredibly spacious and very homely and clean. I had everything I needed to cook my own meals. The staff were wonderfully friendly - the lady who showed me around the apartment on check-in was lovely, as were the two guys who helped me with my luggage storage on the last day. The complex is small, peaceful, and a 10-minute walk from the nearest small supermarket/20 mins from the centre of Carvoeiro.

We stayed here for 6 nights and it was brilliant. Exceptionally quiet, very clean and the unit was in top condition. Its about a 15 min walk to town so reasonably close to the action. The beds were comfortable, the wifi worked really well so I was able to work a bit too. They even had a few British TV channels so I was able to watch the world cup rugby on ITV. Overall very recommendable and I would go back once again. We also had our 3 year old daughter and they provided a small baby cot free of charge and a high chair for dinner time. The unit was also relatively child safe with a high barrier on the balcony and not too much she could destroy around the place. Definitely one of the better places I have stayed in a while!

Check in was a bit of a wait due to an issue with the guest before us, but after this point on, our stay was perfect. The apartment is so clean and has every possible home comfort you could want while on vacation. There was also daily cleaning which was a nice surprise. Would definitely stay here again!

Me sorprendió la amplitud del apartamento. Eramos cinco adultos y no nos encontramos agobiados en ningún momento. Tres habitaciones y dos baños. Salón cocina de dimensiones considerables. Pulcro y limpio. Por poner alguna falta que hubiera Tv en las habiraciones

Had a lovely stay at the nicest self catering accommodation that we’ve ever stayed at. Staff were friendly and helpful. If we stayed again we would hire a car for getting to the supermarket and the beach etc.

They never cleaned the room or made our beds. They never did anything to compensate for it. For that, we could have stayed at an airb&b for cheaper. They also advertised 1 free drink per each guest, which all it was was 1 bottle of water for the 5 of us.

L'appartement est nickel, la vue depuis le balcon superbe. Il faut marcher un peu pour rejoindre le centre ville de Carvoiero, mais c'est facilement accessible à 15-20 minutes à pied. Par contre, peu de places de parking disponible.

Estupendo apartamento muy amplio y acogedor. El único inconveniente es que tienen los depósitos de agua caliente muy pequeños y en el apartamento de 6 solo se ducha con agua caliente el primero que se mete en la bañera. Si se duchais rapidito creo que 4 salen limpios

Aunque algo alejado (1.5 Kms) del centro, lugar muy tranquilo para disfrutar de paz y relax.
Los apartamentos muy cómodos y completamente equipados.

We enjoyed our stay at Placid Village and found that it was very clean with lots of amenities. The pool, although not huge was adequate. The bar/shack next to the pool could have been better, it sold crisps and ice-cream but would have been better if you could have ordered hot food as well. The only downside of our stay was that when we arrived the receptionist queried whether we had paid for our stay, she said that our payment seemed to have been rejected but as we had paid in advance of our stay we knew this was not the case. So she was a bit confused about this and caused us a bit of stress because we had to check our visa bill and check with our travel partner to ensure that we actually had paid in advance. This could have been handled better by the receptionist and was not a nice way to start our holiday. Apart from that our stay was excellent.

Excellent apartment for a family. 20 minutes walk into town a little longer back as uphill. A small area without a path but road fairly quiet. Probably need a car to carry the shopping if doing a little self catering. Cleaning every day if you let them, with a plentiful supply of towels. A few dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and a little washing up liquid means the little things dont need to be bought. Even pool towels. Would consider another stay!

Huge apartment, nicely decorated. About a mile from the town but it's a nice walk along country lanes. Apartment is kept spotlessly clean by the maid who comes in every day except Sundays. Nice pool area too with a main pool and one for children. Highly recommended.

Positiv: Sehr schöne Anlage ruhig und gut ausgestattet, alles wird gerade neu gemacht. Wir waren die ersten und einzigen Gäste. Völlig problemlose und nette Schlüsselübergabe. Das Appartment ist sehr gut ausgestattet sogar mit Fussbodenheizung und Kamin im März ein nicht zu verachtetendes Feature. Aus unserer Sicht sehr gut, ein Auto ist jedoch empfehlenswert. Kein deutsches TV für uns jedoch kein wesentliches Kriterium.. Negativ: Alles gut so wie es ist, gerne Wieder

Positief: De bijzonder vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen die contactpersoon waren op de locatie.. Negatief: Behalve een zwembad en een peuterbad zijn er geen extra faciliteiten bij de locatie, maar dat was bekend.
Na het douchen verspreidde zich een rioollucht door het appartement. Daar was helaas niks aan te doen. We roken het wel vaker in de omgeving.

Pozytywna: Bardzo profesjonalna i życzliwa obsługa, fajne baseny i bardzo dużo miejsc na leżakach przy nim. Basen długo czynny. Każdy pokój klimatyzowany, a sam apartament bardzo duży i z dwoma dyżymi balkonami, na których można z przyjemnością zjeść śniadanie w gronie wszystkich domowników. Bardzo dobre wyposażenie kuchni i łazienki. Dużo sprzętów użytkowych dostęnych w apartamencie. Parking bez ograniczeń na terenie hotelu. . Negatywna: Brak dostępu do Internetu w apartamencie. Internet dostępny tylko przy basenie i w recepcji.

Świetne miejsce dla rodzin z dziećmi, bardzo duże apartamenty, duże wygodne łóżka, słoneczne baseny, klimatyzacja w każdym pokoju i wyjścia na piękne duże balkony z widokiem na miasto i ocean. Spokojna cicha okolica 1,5 km od plaży. Polecamy bardzo!!! My byliśmy w 5 osób, ale spokojnie może korzystać z apartamentu 8 turystów. Tu można prawdziwie odpocząć. Ps. Parking dostępny dla wszystkich gości na terenie hotelu.

Positive: The location is quiet and peaceful not to far from Carvoeiro center 10 - 15 min walk or few mins drive the Staff and reception where very helpful and accommodating. Apartments very nice with washing machine and big dish washer basic self catering needs ( please note would recommend you bring a tea towel and dish cloth and maybe some washing and dish washer tablets however for 6 Euro we got all of these at the local shop ) The pool area was adequate size and had good sun position throughout the day. Negative: TV could have a few more channels and be upgraded to more up to date TVs as there is no bar on site i think this could maybe compensate for that not that i go on holiday to watch TV but in the mornings and evenings was nice to have it there

Positief: de rustige ligging op 5 minuutjes autorijden van het centrum en 15 minuten van mooie stranden;. Negatief: enkel wifi aan de balie, het (grote) appartement was totaal leeg, niks in de keuken om af te wassen enz, geen koffiezetmachine, de TV was defect.

Положительный: Просторные апартаменты,вся бытовая техника, парковка, бассейн.. Негативный: Вай-фай, заявленый на ресепшн, не работает там практически никогда.
Без машины в этих апартаментах делать нечего. Расположены в поселке. До супермаркетов, нормальных пляжей, развлечений нужно ехать. Пляж в самом поселке маленький, находится на расстоянии 1,7 км от апартов.

First visit to Portugal. Can't recommend Quintus Polaris enough! Lovely, clean apartments, filled with all modern comforts such as washing machine and dishwasher. Great pool and baby pool, nice and clean too. Friendly staff, sheets and towels changed frequently.
All perfect for us, holidaying with a small child.
5 stars out of 5 for us. Will definitely return!!

September 2014 - We have just returned from a weeks stay here and loved it, the apartments are very well fitted out and have everything you need (no hair dryer though just in-case but this is by no means a negative) the staff are lovely and there were endless amounts of clean towels and the place was regularly cleaned. It is just a 15 minute walk to the town of Carvoeiro where there are endless amounts of lovely restaurants and bars. All in all we couldn't recommend this enough and will definitely return.
