Great location but terrible service. Frequent private parties and closed areas. Was asked to move several times after actually already been served and trying to relax with a drink. Unless you’re going to spend serious $$$ you’ll be treated like garbage. But the area is badly policed and has some nice seating so just bring your own booze.

Hard to find but worth it. Behind the museum of archeology via the alley next to museum. Near the top of the elevator. There is a sign.
Brunch was fabulous. 16€ for a multi-course meal. Brunch Served until 4 pm. Great patio bar.

Great restaurant/bar tucked away behind the old basilica. Sum drenched terraces, great views, nice light meals which were not too pricey. Service was excellent and quick. Not too many people either so good place to avoid the elevator crowds while having a drink.

Personally, I deleted this is one of the best rooftop places in Lisbon. The sun chairs are perfect to relax in and enjoy the sun. The bar area is awesome just chill with either a coffee, a cocktail or just some wine

Google Maps led me all over the place ... everywhere except Topo Chiado. Luckily the concierge at the Hotel do Chiado helped. Turn up the road at the Nespresso shop, then turn next right and then right again at the top, start walking down at the monastery and you will figure it out. Awesome view, great drinks and surprisingly delicious snacks

Com uma vista deslumbrante sobre a cidade, o Topo é um dos 'segredos' mais in de Lisboa. Pedimos 2 copos de vinho verde para brindar com olhos postos no Castelo São Jorge, que testemunhou também um 'cheesecake' de lima que estava mais para mousse que outra coisa. Não foi uma sobremesa muito inspirada, mas não marcou negativamente esta visita, que teremos de repetir durante o dia!

A localização é boa , mas para se chegar ao restaurante é dificil , pois nao está bem assinalado no Maps. O serviço de atendimento é bom, as empregadas simpáticas e acessíveis, ainda assim mesmo feita a reserva tivemos de esperar algum tempo até sermos sentado numa mesa mal localizada. A refeição demorou 40 min a ser servida ( um simples hambúrguer) as batatas estavam ensupadas em óleo e moles. O preço não compensa a refeição( 26 euros duas pessoas).
Acredito que estejamos a pagar mais pela localização e vista do que propriamente refeição, que não é nada de especial.
O serviço tem de ser mais organizado e eficiente de forma a que todos saiam satisfeitos.
Recomendo talvez para uma bebida rápida e espaço de lazer isto devido a localização e vista, não como espaço de refeição.

I went to Topo Chiado today as I fancied a burger and I had just read the Atlas Lisboa blog round up of 2018 which said it did the best burger in Lisboa, so expectations were high.
Unfortunately it was by far and away the worst burger I've had in Lisbon in the six months I've been here! Not only was it the smallest by quite some way but the burger came well done, not even a hint of pinkness. The cheese was tasteless and it was overloaded with rocket. The only saving grace was the over cooked bacon that at least gave it some flavour and the good quality brioche style bun which, despite not being very big itself, I had to take apart to make sure there actually was a burger inside! On the side were some unbrowned sad looking fries and some ketchup and manyonaise straight out of a Heinz bottle and Hellmans jar respectively. I can't say I was particularly in a rush to hand over my €10. My parter had a jasmin tea bag and hot water for €3! I did slightly better with my drink as I ordered a small beer, the waiter brought a big one and when I mentioned his mistake he allowed me to keep the large beer for the same price as a small one.
The location is great though and I'd consider coming back in the summer for a drink if I wanted an outdoor spot to hang out. I'll make sure it's either pre or post dinner somewhere else though!

Tolle Aussicht! Wir hatten zwei mal Brot bestellt (als Snack) und einen sättigenden Brotkorb mit Olivenpaste, Butter und Olivenöl bekommen. Top! Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es für die nicht vorhandenen Smoothies, die wir eigentlich bestellen wollten. Noch einen Punkt ziehe ich ab, da wir einen Euro zu wenig Wechselgeld zurückbekommen haben, trotz großzügigem Trinkgeld - ein NoGo!

In splendida posizione: una terrazza all'aperto sospesa davanti ai tetti di Lisbona.
Si trova tra il retro delle mura del convento del Carmo e l'arrivo (in alto) dell'elevador de Santa Justa: bellissima vista, musica di sottofondo, consente di ricaricare le energie.
Da provare le sdraie nella parte bassa del locale!
Atmosfera molto rilassata: a fine settembre il pomeriggio ho visto persone sedute ai tavolini e sulle straio senza ordinazioni.
Provato solo il bar (non il ristorante): prezzi onesti (no turistici) e grande offerta di cocktail.

Bar/restaurante/ esplanada com uma vista fantástica para Lisboa e o castelo de São Jorge. Deve ser feita uma reserva com alguma antecedência, no caso de ser um grupo maior. Servem brunch muito agradável e diversificado, embora o serviço seja um pouco lento e confuso. O preço não é exagerado.

Loved the rooftop view. Would have like the sangria to have fresh fruit in it for the price. But it was a big pitcher. Perfect to share between two and tasted great. Great for a small bite of food but the drinks seem to be their specialty.

I recommend this place for a nice dinner or lunch. At night the view is illuminated and very beautiful. The food is really good, both fish and meat. The service is fast and friendly and the background music is enjoyable.

Terrible staff with bad attitude. Waited at least 20 minutes before we could get anyone's attention to order. We ordered coffee and a beer which took 15 minutes to arrive (coffee is from an instant machine which takes less than 10 seconds to make). We were then provided the bill before all our items arrived. Had to ask 2 wait staff to pay. Overall, this place is a waste of time. Would not recommend anyone to come here for a glimpse of the city

Worst cocktails/longdrinks possible
I have never had cocktails (even longdrinks) made with less passion than this. One of the easiest, gin tonic, had no sparkles in it at all, after i returned it i got one with nearly no sparkle. Also bad service, and the light is not cozy. Only the view is very nice.

Pour y accéder depuis la rue commerçante, vous devrez prendre un petit ascenseur situé dans une boutique (malheureusement, je ne me souviens plus du nom de la boutique, n’hésitez pas à demander à des locaux)
La vue y est magnifique et le brunch est pour le moins sympathique !

Directions from my party host:
1. Go to Carno square (Largo do Carno). Next to the church - entrance on the right. Down some stairs.
2. If you’re coming from Rua do carno, take the stairs next to Footlocker, there’s a Natural Living sign, veer to the right, go up the stairs, then turn right and then down the stairs next to the church.

Ce rooftop est vraiment genial, un peu cher a mon gout mais avec une jolie sur Lisbonne. Je conseille d'y aller pendant une diffusion de film en plein air. Le choix des films est bon en VOSTPT dans de jolis hamacs avec pop corn, des plaids et des casques sans fils performants

Apesar de ficar deslumbrado com a vista, fui pela primeira vez experimentar o brunch em pleno Julho. 15 minutos a espera para irem a mesa e 45m depois o brunch ainda não tinha chegado, enquanto que a malta turista era muito bem servida e sem atrasos...acabamos por perder a fome e ir ao hotel chiado que tambem tem um brunch e muito melhor...

Visible from the Santa Justa Lift. Amazing view of the lift and the city all the way up to Castelo de S. Jorge. The food was decently priced, excellent quality, with generous lunch options. The packages come with two drinks so I accidentally ended up with four total! Beautiful spot in the shade of the Convent on a sunny afternoon.

We've been to quite a few restaurants with views, and while the views here were impressive and it was great to be away from the crowds, the food and the friendly owner/manger/staff were truly fantastic. Nice sized portions and fair prices. Highly recommend the cheese/meat charcuterie and burrda dishes. We'll be back.

Uff this bar has it all but the main attraction is the view.
From here you can see the city and the elevator too.
With a nice seating area to enjoy this perfect city's outdoor, this is the bar to be.

Topo Chiado can be accessed by walking through the alley besides Carmo Archaeological Museum, a little bit hard to find but the view at sunset is just so beautiful! Salmon salad is very fresh and tasty, staff are very friendly.

Hard to find, while it could be very easy to find. Wasted so much time on finding the place, nevertheless wanted to try because of the reviews. It was very dissapointing. Don’t bother for the food here, it’s expensive and not good at all. This place is really for tourists and it’s more of a bar. I can imagine having drinks with the view, which was nice. But really don’t go here to have lunch.

Tricky place to find, 2 shops left of the New Balance Store (as you look at it) is a small tourist trinket shop - go in there and you'll see the lift up to Topo! Cool place with lovely views and unique space to relax. Food and drink options aren't excellent, but certainly good enough - I recommend the toasted sandwiches! Yes it's a little more expensive than your average Lisbon restaurant but you're in a unique spot that not many people on the streets below seem to know about so enjoy it!

Excelente localização com vista deslumbrante sobre a colina do Castelo de S. Jorge, Senhora do Monte, Graça e Baixa Pombalina. O espaço desenvolve-se em mais de um nível. Tem um bar com espreguiçadeira e mesas. Tem num nível mais elevado outra zona com esplanada, sendo parcialmente coberta onde são servidas refeições. O brunch é bem confeccionado. O ambiente é descontraído.

Tolles Open air Kino in Lissabon zentral in der Innenstadt gelegen! Faire Preise mit Popcorn und drinks. Es lief Notting hill und jeder konnte problemlos mit Kopfhörer dem Film lauschen... sehr schönes Konzept was einfach gut aufgeht ohne dass Probleme mit der Akustik entstehen. AMAZING view and location!
I am in love with the Topo Martim Moniz but this one is also great, especially for the view.
The food menu is small but food is fresh and good so it is a good point too.
We ended at the bar on the lower floor after dîner but my advice would be to stay at the restaurant if you want to continue the evening - a lot of people and a big waiting line for cocktails, the drinks menu is also different downstairs so if they are as good as the Martim Moniz Topo you should stay upstairs ;)

They have two other mocktails as well if you don't drink any alcohol and want some fruity drinks

Me and my friends tried to order a tosti and eat it downstairs. One of the waiter was not friendly to us, did not say anything and gave us the feeling we were annoying him. By the payment he even charged us 3euros too much and when we said something about that he reacted very indifferent.

Já não vinhamos ao topo chiado há mais de um ano.
Gosto muito da envolvência e das vistas. Ninguém diria que após esta rua estreita o espaço se abriria nesta pérola em Lisboa.
A minha classificação não é 5 porque o novo "Finger food" menu não é do meu agrado. Da última vez os pratos eram mais típicos e com bons pratos para dividir e passar o bom nome da nossa gastronomia.
Mas vamos ao que têm atualmente.
Para entrada fomos para a burrata que estava muito boa e bem temperada. Para partilhar fomos para a pizza de pesto que não estando espetacular estava bastante aceitável. Sem grande quantidade de ingredientes mas com qualidade e um massa bastante fina e estaladiça.
Para sobremesa o tiramisu estava muito bom e o sorbete de limão de chorar por mais.

Staff seemed uninterested to serve us when we showed up. The only unreserved seats were in the blazing hot sun which we took up, however staff failed to notify us when seating became available in the shade. However, the two saving graces of this place are the view and the food though it's probably a better place to hang out for sundown.

There were many waiters, but I'm not sure what they were doing there. They were nice and friendly, but very slow and forgetful. Also there was coming to different kinds of music from two different audio systems that were competing with each other. But the view is fantastic.

Trata-se de um óptimo aproveitamento arquitctónico dos antigos pátios do Convento. O Restaurante/Bar Topo Chiado está hoje integrado mos chamados Terraços do Carmo. O bar serve ótimos cocktails novos e clássicos, e o restaurante apresenta uma razoável lista de pratos de peixe e de carne. A não perder. Chega-se de elevador (por uma loja na rua do Carmo frente á Ale Hope) ou pelos Terraços do Carmo.

I live in Lisbon and I love the view from this place. However, third time here and......every time it was a joke in terms of service. I went for an event - it started at 9pm - so bar was super busy from 8pm. Why you would not have all 'hands on deck' from 8pm I just cannot understand. We queued 20 minutes for first drink, 40 for second. They knew they had an event at 9pm, its not like they were suddenly busy out of nowhere. In the end I had a nice chat with the bar manager but I notice behind the bar was not stocked, no change in tills, other staff looking hopeless and lost. The other staff didn't even smile or say hello. The price you pay for a drink there you expect much better service. Its not only about that - dont they want to make money? All the ingredients are there - views, thirsty customers, music but they cannot pull it together. I don't expect things to always be like they are back home, however I do expect manager to plan better when they know they have an event happening. Get all 'hands on deck' at 8pm, bars stocked, teamwork, bar backs to help serve beers - you cannot have one man making cocktails and people waiting 40 minutes its actually hilarious. It is not hard to get it right. Will not be returning, and not be recommending. What a shame!

O sumo natural era aguado e sem sabor. A comida veio toda completamente fria (salmão, panquecas, ovos, torradas...), como se já estivesse pré feita. Ovos escalfados com claras cruas, "ovos molhados" secos (demasiado cozinhados), guacamole e salmão sem a lima prometida. Depois de questionado, o sr argumentou que os ovos "são assim" e que "mais cozinhados fazem mais mal à saúde" (!!?!!). O segundo sr que chamámos aceitou a queixa da comida fria e levou para dentro. Só que em vez de trazer uma travessa nova, aqueceu o que já tinha sido servido. Apesar de tudo, quando novamente questionado, trouxe uma nova. Esta segunda, apesar de preparada na hora, continuou a mostrar os pratos com uma confecção de baixa qualidade. Apesar disso e da falta de disponibilidade do primeiro empregado, o que salvou foi a gentileza do serviço do segundo senhor. Resumindo, a vista não é suficiente senão para beber só um café.

Pricy but worthy. The view is just amazing. Staff was inconsistent, the lady that welcomed us stood behind the desk looking for something on the iPad and with no "good evening" skipped to asking how many of us were seating and continued on looking to the iPad without telling us if she had a table or if we would have to wait. Eventually she took us to a table with a majestic view and the waitress that helped us with our order was much kinder. Service was very slow though. I've mixed feelings due to the reception but I will come back.

Cozy and comfy restaurant and cocktail bar in front of the Convento do Carmo (church) with great view of the city and Castelo de S. Jorge (castle). Accessible from the Santa Justa lift and the Chafariz do Carmo (square) as well.
We were only having cocktails. They are really exquisite, made from quality material and go for around 10 euros. It's a nice change after the "cocktails" sold on the street. It's unfortunate that they don't have service at the bar.
There's also live DJ playing chilly music at just the right volume.
Perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the view of Lisbon.

Amazing view! There are three floors: top floor is a full service restaurant while the bottom two floors are the bar. We went around 7-8pm on a weekday and there were tons of seating available. We had a hard time finding this place, its behind the large historical building (police station?) you have to walk around the building on the left side and go to the back.

The location cannot be beat. We had both cocktails, food and brunch earlier in the day and it was plentiful. The service was quick and exceptional. The Bartenders went out of the way to make us a custom cocktail we wanted.
Two points: 1) seating outside under cover is limited so the sun or the rain is going to get you. 2) Perhaps more of a culture thing, but almost everybody smokes cigarettes during the cocktail hours, a little overwhelming for us from the USA where smoking is limited at bars and cafes.

Fui experimentar o brunch ao Topo Chiado. O espaço tem uma vista fantástica, mas é 80% esplanada pelo que o depende muito do tempo. Quanto ao brunch era razoável, uma boa oferta pelo preço, sem a fartura de um buffet, mas com boa qualidade e uma quantidade aceitável. O Atendimento não foi brilhante, algo lento e com algumas falhas (o galão veio morno, e quando pedimos para aquecer disseram que a máquina estava avariada). Em todo o caso uma apreciação globalmente positiva.

Óptimo Terraço para passar uma tarde Verão. No Inverno tem aquecedores e mantas, tentando tornar o espaço mais agradável. Mas com esta vaga de frio independentemente do esforço é desconfortável.

Vista muitíssimo bela sobre a cidade, em especial para o elevador de Santa Justa. Música ambiente agradável (jazz, bossa nova) e staff simpático. Por ser um local aberto é um bocado frio no inverno.

Les meilleurs cocktail de Lisbonne sont là à n'en pas douter. Les barmans ne sont pas à court d'idée même si la carte est déjà longue et prometteuse, j'ai adoré le purple rain, mais le 69 est pas mal non plus. Si vous êtes chanceux et footeux vous pouvez demander le "special morinho" à base de Rhum...
Vue extraordinaire sur l'ascenseur Eiffel (Santa Justa), prévoir une petite laine le soir car plutôt venteux,
