This bar is owned by Hernâni Soares. For those who don´t know who he is, as myself, his one of the captains of the entertainment revolution that started in the 80s with the oppening of untraditional bars, we came out of dictatorship a few years before so i suppose than besides orchestras, ball rooms and fado, there was not many options to listen to the emerging sounds that were being made by musical movements on other parts of the world. He worked and owned many bars, and worked with lots of musicians and people, he helped transform the city in to making it one of the reasons why everyone comes to visit Portugal, that is, to have a good time. This particular bar is very well located in the middle of three major areas of entertainment and leisure which are Bairro Alto, Bica and Cais do Sodré, it´s a quiet bar where you can sit and talk while drinking or eating, it´s a good place to start the night with some beers or cocktails before going to a more crowdy and louder bar, before a show or dancing. The decoration is an amalgamation of bits of multicultural Lisbon, can seem quite odd or unarragend, but thats how Lisbon actually is. Be aware, the customer is not always right (reminder for some of the comments here), if anyway you are rude, don´t expect much courtesy, respect works both sides and you are not at your hometown or at home. But be sure, if you are not satisfied for some particular reason i believe the staff will do what´s in their power to correct the situation and please you, thats why their there and the bar is open, to please the visitors and their customers.

Ótimo local para tomar uns copos e passar umas horas a ouvir música.

Visitei o tabernáculo para beber apenas um copo de vinho e foi uma desilusão , desde o atendimento desligado e algo antipatico ao ambiente um pouco escuro passando por pouca oferta de vinhos. A decoração no entanto é minimamente interessante. Não deverei voltar.

Posto non esattamente pulitissimo ma carino e accogliente. Ottime bruschette e birra economica. Dipendenti non sempre sorridenti ma veramente un posto consigliatissimo. proprietario davvero molto simpatico e cameriere di bella presenza.

Local acolhedor, muita simpatia, profissionalismo e bom acolhimento das funcionárias. Quanto ao proprietário, um grande Senhor que recebe extraordinariamente, gentil, simpático e muito correcto. Um anfitrião excepcional. Fiquei extremamente agradado! Vou voltar com toda a certeza!

Pure Love! This place has delicious food and an awesome host. The wine is amazing and the music tops it all of. This place made our vacation perfect!

El dueño, un negro gordo con rastas, si te ve cara de extranjero, se olvida de las frases colgadas en el local (dedicadas a la paz, Luther King, etc) y te la clava doblada. Todo ello con cara de mala leche. Un café solo, 2 euros. A un chaval que pasó al baño sin consumir le echó una bronca de mil demonios. Estoy de acuerdo que algo debía haber dejado pero es que le pedía un euro y además de muy malas formas.

Please, don’t put any cocktails in the menu if you don’t know how to make them!! Especially for classics: the Mojito and the whisky sour were sh***y !

Herman and his staff are amazing with their approach to customers. Great place to order drinks and spend the night , before heading out.

Great little hideaway/den for a quick drink. Service and drinks were great! Bar is decorated with quotes about equality and enjoying yourself, it also has a lot of pictures of famous blues and soul singers and record covers. Highly recommended for a quick drink!

Boa música, ambiente agradável, simpatia no atendimento.

Decoracao bem legal.. bem intimista. O ponto pra mim, negativo que nao tinha cerveja de pressão e nem Wi-Fi. Achei mrio caro. Cerveja de pressao a 3,5€.

Serveurs sans aucune compétence, même pour servir une bière. Mojito sans aucun goût à 9€. Bar à éviter

Muito acolhedor o espaço. Espaço em que predomina a cultura africana e faz referência a grandes personalidades e músicos afro. Muito bom!

A boa música é ordem da casa ente soul, jazz, blues ...Ambiente calmo e descontraído. Local prefeito para grupos grandes ou pequenos. Carta de vinho, bons aperitivos, desgestivos....Decor muito interessante.

On a été à ce bar uniquement car il nous a été dit qu'il y a un FLIPPER... En terme de flipper l'état est catastrophique et le prix juste hallucinant surtout pour Lisbonne. Jugez plutôt : 1€ =1 partie !!!

Copos com amigos após jantar. Pontos fortes: atendimento simpático e rápido; local rústico e com bom ambiente e boa música. Pontos fracos: o custo das bebidas é demasiado elevado para o que o local apresenta.

Never ate anything here, but they have a Star Wars Data East Pinball Machine, and that's enough for me. 5 stars it is!

Muito bom com espetáculos ao vivo .

A comida é fraca, o espaço cheira a pó e o atendimento é um pouco amador (embora sejam simpaticos). Os cocktails não tinham qualidade. O preço não desilude, é barato, mas há muitas casas que cobram barato em Lisboa e onde se come muito melhor.

Tabernáculo, um espaço a descobrir (perto do Cais do Sodré): a música é jazz, funk, soul. Confortável, gente adulta. O dono Hernani Miguel é um pioneiro da noite Lisboeta.
