I have visited a couple of other boxes in Lisbon, and found Matchbox to be the most welcoming, and all the instructors speak English (which was very helpful in my early days of Lisbon residency). The quality of the programs is high with movements and rep schemes that I have seen scaled to compete novices and challenge experienced box goers. Disclosure: I am a member at Matchbox.

Had a super dropin in January 2019 in this fantastic box in Lisbon. Dropin was agreed via Facebook contact, we received a great welcome from the local coach and community. Coaching was done in English for us and the WOD was fun too. Highly recommend this place!

I had a fantastic time as a drop in at CrossFit Matchbox! I communicated via Facebook messenger in English the night before the class I wanted to attend. She suggested a few times I could come in and spoke great English. Upon arriving, the coach found out I spoke English so asked the class if they would mind if she did the class in English! It really made a difference in making me feel welcomed and included. The people there were very friendly and chatted me up a few times during the class. The coach spoke amazing English and even gave me some pull-up tips that I am taking home to work on. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend them. Bring a shirt from your box to add to their wall!!

I decided to give CrossFit a try and I am very happy I choose Matchbox CrossFit. Coaches are very knowledgeable, WODs are challenging and the atmosphere is great. Ifeels like a group of friends training together.

If youre visiting Lisbon this is the gym to go to. The staff and coach were amazingly helpful (with such good English too) and it was very reasonably priced. The coach is very knowledgeable and great fun. He made time to explain the workout to me in English too, which was above and beyond given I was the only visitor.

Recomendo este local para quem quer conhecer a modalidade, iniciar-se nesse mundo ou melhorar o que já sabe fazer. Uma decoração excelente sempre a pensar no bem estar dos seus atletas. Recomendo!

An amazing CrossFit Box! I was blown away by the level of expertise of these trainers, super easy going people, supper professional, friendly and fun but dead serious about crossfit. They will give you awesome WODs and all the support you may need to keep improving yourself and push harder every single time! And as a bonus, great atmosphere and great location. I kept going back (religiously) after my first free trial class. If you are into Crossfit and looking for a box to train at, or you just want to try it out, this is the place to go.
