Hole in the wall vibe but good food (very fast) and decently priced. It is cash only tho, which we didn’t know until we ordered, luckily we had enough to cover it all.

We are two Canadians in their thirties who were looking for a great dinner spot with fresh ingredients that wasn’t over priced. Well, this place was even better then we expected. We had such an amazing dinner and had such great service. We had the Salmon and the Brick (chicken sausage) and both were so amazing! Also had a side of the fried beans and rice. For the two of us, it was the perfect amount of food. House wine and craft beer were great too. And our bill was only 30Euro, amazing. Bring cash!

Wow. One of the best/tastiest/most unique meals I’ve ever had in my life! The asparagus soup with tortellini was by far my favorite, then the codfish panipuri, and finally the cuttlefish rice. Lovely service and atmosphere. As soon as I finished one plate, they brought out the next. They also gave me a complimentary lemon curd and bit of port wine since I said I didn’t have enough cash on me for dessert. So sweet! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Quelques vins nature du Portugal. Les plats ne sont pas extravagants mais très bons et valent le prix payé! On se sent chez nous, décor style vintage et bon service! J'y retournerais sans aucun doute!

Incredible food. MUST HAVE RESERVATION.

Wow! This place is a must. Remember cash only. Call ahead and make a reservation. The raw salmon was insanely delicious. Everything was delicious! Plus the servers and vibe is so warm! Love.

We came there as a tip from a friend. You cant eat there without a reservation. They have tapas, and three main dishes. The tapas are overpriced and not worth the money. The service was not that nice. The food was good though but nothing special. Would not go there again.

Mi pareja y yo acudimos recomendados por unos amigos. Reservamos mesa con unas horas de antelación y al llegar allí tuvimos que esperar unos 20 minutos, pero fueron amenizados por una copa de vino a la cual nos invitaron. Las camareras se esforzaron continuamente por hacernos sentir cómodos y como en casa. La carta y los platos variados son muy buenos y sabrosos. En cuestión de cantidad las raciones están pensadas para dos personas. Como punto negativo la espera, y los tacos de carne un poco secos. Por lo demás muy recomendable y una oportunidad genial de cenar en barrio alto. Relación calidad-precio buena.

I've lived in Lisbon for 4 years and this still is my favorite restaurant. Cash only - so be prepared. It's worth the wait! Special menus change frequently or you can always count on their small plates to share.

Cozy restaurant with very delicious and creative food, they love the details. I go there always with a group of people and we order the small dishes of which you need two for one person. We share all together and it's everytime a very good experience to taste the different meals.

Hidden pearl of Lisboa. What a find! Very authentic place with absolutely amazing food. Love & care is clearly visible on each plate. It was definitely our best dinner in whole Portugal. Beautiful flavours, lovely twists in classics. Fantastic waitress made sure we had a top notch evening. Will definitely come back, many times hopefully!

CASH ONLY. Be warned. The nearest ATM is a 15 minute walk straight up a hill, inside a bank that might be closed. Also on weekend nights you have to weave through a drug-fueled crowd of revelers looking to fight you and/or sell you drugs to get to that ATM. The restaurant staff happily acknowledge all of this and don't seem bothered by it.

Let me just say it, this place is amazing
We came here twice, that's how good the food is.
The service is impeccable, they remembered the wine we had the first time we were here. Who does that!! Estrela da Bica does.
I don't like blowing mine or other people's trumpet, unless it's deserved....BEST FOOD IN LISBON. From starters, to main and dessert. They know what they are doing,, cant wait to visit next time In Lisbon.

Le service est très agréable disponible et chaleureux. Les petiscos sont peu chère et la quantité au rendez vous. Je vous conseil pour deux de prendre 4 plats pour être totalement conquis. Je vous conseil au passage en dessert le pudding caramel avec un petit ingrédient secret qui est fabuleux !

Restaurant atypique, convivial, cuisine inventive sans excès superflus, accueil vraiment chouette, salle avec mini cabinet de curiosités (vitrine), prix lisboètes et clientèle autant locale que touristique, excellent signe quand les locaux fréquentent un lieu dans un quartier touristique. A gorgeous, little restaurant that serves up delicious little portions of food. If you are a big eater, this is not the place for you. But if you appreciate small tasting plate sizes give this place a try. We had a pepper salad (amazing dressing), falafel and Porto ribs which were all delicious. Price point is a little expensive for the size meals.

Ambiance locale avec une terrasse et un barbecue faits de bric et de broc mais avec beaucoup de charme, des personnes très serviables (on amène de quoi dessiner à notre fille, on arrange un plat pour elle).
Des plats locaux, très bien cuisinés et très bons.
Un rapport qualité/prix bien mieux que ce qu'on a pu voir jusqu'ici (48€ pr 2 plats, 1 plat enfant, 3 desserts, 2 verre de vin et 1 limonade).

The tapas selection was outstanding. We had a wide array of tapas - largely vegetarian, fish, and dessert. Everything we had on the table was special in its own regard. Service was warm and kind. She was Keen to look after all our - even not outspoken - needs, which was particularly helpful for catering the special taste of our toddler child.

Un restaurante acogedor e informal a la vez. El servicio es amable y bastante rapido. Pedimos la pata de pulpo, los tacos, el revuelto de setas bie, costillar y bizcocho de chocolate. Todo estaba muy bueno. Lo único que no nos gustó, fue que habiendo reservado con un par de semanas de antelación, al llegar allí nos dijeron que aún no nos podíamos sentar y nos tocó esperar 10 minutos afuera pasando frío. No hay una barra preparada para tomar algo mientras tanto. Por lo demás, muy bien.

המסעדה נמצאת ברחוב קטנטן שכל גישה אליה מחייבת התמודדות עם שיפועים קיצוניים שאו שיורדים או שעולים בהם. ואי אפשר להתחמק מזה. ברחוב נוסעת חשמלית קטנה שתפקידה להעלות נוסעים בעלייה התלולה הזו של הרחוב. המסעדה עצמה קטנה ואינטימית. השירות נעשה עי מלצרים שנתנו הרגשה שהם בעלי הבית. כלומר הכל אישי ונעים. האוכל מוגש במנות לחלוקה - ניתן לקחת אותם גם כמנות בודדות אבל עדיף לחלוק אותן ולחוות יותר טעמים.יש מגוון לא רע כולל צמחוני. האוכל מעולה. כל מה שטעמתי היה מצויין כולל המנות האחרונות. המחיר סביר לגמרי.
כשסיימנו החשמלית כבר לא עבדה ובמקומה נפתחו בקצה הרחוב כמה ברים וכל הרחוב היה מלא במסיבת רחוב ספונטנית כנהוג בליסבון.
אחלה מסעדה ואחלה חוויה.

Pentito di esserci andato: porzioni piccole e care e cibo insipido. L'unica cosa che si salvava erano le costoline di maiale.
Inoltre il locale è molto piccolo e caotico.
Alla fine non ci hanno nemmeno fatto lo scontrino, benché lo avessimo espressamente richiesto.
Conosco bene Lisbona e questo l'ho visto come una trappola per turisti: nella zona ci sono molti locali migliori.

Restaurante simpático, com muito boa comida. Sobremesas fracas. Ambiente descontraído. A ressalvar o lamentável lapso de uma reserva feita através do Fork, q dava direito a 10%de desconto após reserva, e que no acto do pagamento me foi dito que isso não era possível. Seria um problema que me competia a mim resolver, uma vez q eles não tinham esse acordo. Desprestigiante p o Restaurante, bem como desagradável para o cliente.

Came across this place when we were looking for dinner options after a reservation error at another restaurant. Luckily the owner (I think) was able to seat us after a 10ish minute wait. The food was good, we had 4 dishes between two which was enough. Smoked beets dish was particularly good, and we enjoyed the tuna tartare and the pulled pork tacos.
Only downside was they were very busy so be prepared to wait for table/service/bill etc

Totally disappointed, the food was extremely bland and the portions for a “big tapas” was rather small. Unfortunately I left hungry!! If you love simple tasteless food this is the place for you. On the plus side it’s a very cosy atmosphere and the staff were warm and welcoming.

We had the pleasure of having our first dinner in Lisbon here last night. I absolutely loved it. We ordered three different tapas. The codfish dish was the winner for me. The fish was placed in little 2-bite sized thin pastry cup with a green sauce on the side. You pour the sauce into the cup to create the magic. Delicious. When serving the dish, the waitress said, "do not eat it....taste it." I loved that.

The best food I have tasted in Lisbon. My family and I have some specific dietary requirements such as vegetarian, no gluten, and no dairy, all of which were dealt with confidently and calmly. Each dish we ordered (to our surprise) had been adapted to suit all of our needs! We could all share our plates with eachother, which is something we aren't often able to do. All of the food was delicious, fresh, and unique. Clearly local ingredients that are combined skillfully and thoughtfully; all at a great price! I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fantastic food in Lisbon - you will not be disappointed.

The food is quite good. But the service is awful. There is a waitress's with a multi-colored hair that is really rude. She has a cocky attitude that ruins the experience of the whole restaurant.

Good fresh and fun food. Atmosphere and location is fun and the area is suitable for post-dinner bar hopping.
Reasonably priced and service was good (if a bit uneven). Would definitely go again.

Je leur ai demandé de mettre un "s" à estrella (étoile en portugais). Une des meilleures adresses de Lisbonne à un prix des plus raisonnable. Leur poulpe grillé ou les tempoura de bacalhau sont à tomber. Il faut juste oser passer la porte et s'installer.

Very tasty food, but very small portions and very expensive. Waiting for a place is not very fun as well, but it's fine since we did not have a reservation. Very simple furniture.

It was definitely a long wait as others have mentioned and the staff are inundated with a constant stream of people constantly looking for seats while trying to serve everyone.
Best thing is wait patiently, put your name down and prepare for one of the best meals you will have in Lisbon.
It's reasonably priced with some beautiful food and atmosphere.

Everything homemade, food is amazing. Try the Bacalhau on the bread.. Good wine as well with the Douro 2015. Don't hesitate!!

Worth waiting in line for - relaxed atmosphere, food was fresh and tasty (although we missed out on the barbecued sardines that the chef is cooking outside). Lovely wine. Service frantic but they looked to be doing their best! Also note that we landed on a late flight and managed to get a table and dinner around 11pm-midnight.

Decepcionado. Con todas las opiniones buenas fui allí con ilusión. El sitio es bohemio, mesas y sillas viejas y incomodas. La comida normalita. Las sardinas buenas, pero 3 sardinas por 10 euros tampoco es una ganga. El pan seco, las aceitunas mediocres. No pedir las costillas BBQ, no valen nada.

Malá klasická domácí restaurace s výbornou kuchyní. Doporučuji navštívit před osmou večer. Pozor na chilli con carne, zdálo se mi bez masa (pokud tam bylo, pak jsem ho nenašel).

Food was good. However, only three main courses to choose from apart from tapas. We made a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes more under the restaurant and 40 minutes to get our meals. The service is not fast so get ready to wait for a while and enjoy some wine while waiting.

Went here on the first night of my trip to Lisbon and what a great choice that was. The food was delicious and the wine tasty. Prices are very reasonable (compared to places I subsequently went to on my trip) and the staff are very friendly.

Very good food, though a little pricey. I especially enjoyed the Spanish rice! Also be sure to try the Sovina beer if you are not a local, one of my favorite Portuguese beers.

The food is very good, but there are not many places to sit and it can get quite crammed in there. Make sure to book a table. Also, they don't take cards, only money, which I think is really weird.

We booked a table at 9.30 but we waited over 40 minutes to sit. The food is good but the service is awful: one of the waiters starts saying that will not be possible to have all plates together (and it's ok) but then he "get pissed" when he asked "do you want anything else?" and we answered "we are still waiting for all our dishes". It is not possible to have such a behavior after more than 90 minutes of waiting

Excellent restaurant.
On mange bien et boit bien pour 20€ par personne avec des produits de qualités.(sangria blanche)
Suivant l'heure d'arrivée, il faut être patient mais on peut attendre avec un verre (on peut réserver à l'avance si vous ne voulez pas attendre)

Nous avons passé 4 jours à Lisbonne dans l'appart en face de l'Estrella da bica, nous avons de suite été attiré par cette file de gastronomes attendant leur tour pour y déguster les spécialités. Nous n'avons pas été déçu. Accueil souriant, prix serrés, qualité des produits et de la cuisine

My wife and i had a wonderful time and to taste those amazing kinds of dishes that we decided to come there 2 times a week.
Very fresh and those flavors and taste was heavenly!
Try the ravioli and you will never want another one.
