Alan at MBE is absolutely the best! Have been in Lisbon for 3 months and needed to ship to US on 2 separate occasions. Alan was very helpful and courteous in making this happen. Even when my package got stuck he helped make sure correct info (copy passport) was provided to continue the shipment. Grateful!

I do everything here: overnight mailing, copying, scanning and emailing. Alan and his wife are always helpful, professional and friendly. Frankly, I’d be lost without them!

I cannot say enough good things about the service my family and I received at Alan and Marcella Alvez’s Mailboxes, Etc. When I called, before coming in, Sr. Alvez was so helpful. I had asked if they could ship some artwork my son bought at the flea market. He let me know that, no matter what, they would make it work. My family and I ended up being later than expected because we took the bus going in the opposite direction. Doh! We ended up cutting into lunch time. We felt so bad, but we were a bit desperate, and the Alvezes were still so kind and friendly. Sr. Alvez went above and beyond to cut foam to fit my son’s artwork, and he customized a box to limit the volume so we didn’t have to pay more than was necessary. This all took a long time. Our package also arrived to us on time and intact. We can’t thank Sr. and Sra. Alvez enough!

Utilizei os serviços para a minha mudança de Lisboa para a Irlanda. Enviei alguns artigos que precisava urgentemente, entre os quais um carrinho de bebé e duas violas. O pessoal da loja foi extremamente competente e atencioso, fizeram um embalamento especial mesmo na loja, até enviaram fotografias! Mais, aconselharam sobre os tipos de seguros que valia a pena fazer. Chegou tudo num estado impecável e na altura prevista. Aconselho vivamente.

There are positives & negatives to this Mailboxes Etc. location. On the positive side, there is very friendly & attentive customer service at this location! The owner Alan and his wife are extremely friendly! Alan spent lots of time & care with me when I had to ship a big box of clothes back to United States. He helped me with the box, the packing, and the shipping! Alan put a lot of thought & care into helping me out. However, on the negative side, Alan didn’t fill out the customs forms properly for the United States, so my package has been stuck in United States customs for over 5 days now and STILL hasn’t made it to the recipient yet. The box was supposed to have arrived 2 days ago. I called UPS and they told me that there was “inadequate information provided on the customs form that was filled out by Mailboxes Etc.”. Alan was supposed to fill out U.S. Customs Form #3299 for me, but he never filled out this form, so my package is now stuck in customs in USA. The good news is that it seems like UPS might be able to resolve this issue for me within the next 2-3 days — but only after they escalate the problem to another department & only after they call me back for more information. Of course, UPS never called me back when they said they would, and I’ve been trying to contact them all day long to resolve this problem. So Alan’s mistake has now cost me many many many hours of my time, and the problem still hasn’t been resolved yet. I also can't figure out how to complete this customs form. So my package has been delayed by many days, and this has caused extra stress & extra hassle on my end. The package won’t even reach the destination until many days after it was supposed to get there... if it gets there at all, which I assume it will. TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE: UPS IS CHARGING ME $20 PER DAY FOR HOLDING ONTO MY PACKAGE IN THEIR WAREHOUSE! So, if you’re going to be shipping boxes to the United States from this Mailboxes Etc. location, make sure that the proper customs forms are filled out 100% properly & 100% completely by Alan. Otherwise, you will end up with the same delays and the same problems that I’m currently dealing with. Alan is in the business of shipping, so he really should know how to properly ship packages internationally, shouldn’t he?! ‍♂️ How can Alan be in the business of shipping if he’s not even filling out customs forms properly? This has been a significant hassle for me, and a significant stressor for me.

Mr. Alves was a tremendous help! I needed to ship some items to the US and Asia. Mr. Alves packaged everything securely, but also efficiently--he repackaged a few things in a manner that saved me quite a few Euros. He also helped me review several destination charges. All in English, no less. He took all of the hassle out of international shipping, and I'm very grateful. Thank you for the phenomenal experience!
