the service was extremely unattentive and unpleasant. forgot about my order and did not bother to help or recommend any food. english was poor unlikely to other places in portugal. the waiter did awful job... my fish (bacalhau) was mediocre but the surroundings is quite nice.

はじめ誰も目を合わせてくれないので、感じが悪い店かと思いましたが、とても忙しいので勝手に座り勝手にお願いするスタイルで、そっけないけど、いいひとたちだと理解できたら気が楽になりました。
食事は。。本当にすごく美味しい！！スズキの丸焼きは、オランダ豆とジャガイモの茹でたのがついて、レモンだけで食べるのがとても美味しかったです！焼き具合も最高でしたz
相方は、故障ソースのステーキを食べましたが、お肉も質が良く、よい焼き加減でたっぷりのソースで美味しかったです。
帰る日のお昼に来てしまったので、はじめに知ってたらもっとゆっくりと何度も来たかったです。
お値段もいい素材がわかるのでその割には本当に安いと思います！

Amazing place. If you are in lisbon and want to eat good fish, this is the place. The service is superb and the atmosphere is friendly. Sea food is so fresh they have a fish tank with large crabs in the restuarant.

First night I went it was great. Service was great and friendly. The steak was good and priced about right for the quality. The server offered up the starters instead of just placing them on the table. (In the US this is normally considered part of the meal at not additional cost not the case in Lisbon and I fell for that on my first trip here). Because of the experience I went back the next night to try a seafood dish. The experience was completely opposite.The server was more standoffish. I ordered what they had translated to swordfish by pointing to the menu at the item. I also agreed to 2 starters cheese and bread. When the meal came it was not swordfish. Mistakes happen especially with language differences so showed the server again the menu item I selected he took the squid and put in the order again for the the swordfish. When the dish came out again it was not swordfish but another type of fish. Long story short they had a translation issue in the menu. Understandable. The part of the visit that made it a bad experience was when the bill came. They had the wrong price for the fish. Turns out the price was lower on the English menu than the main menu but they would not honor the menu I ordered off of. The bread starter in the menu was .80 euro and they brought a basket with 3 buns. No mention that it was per piece, having to wait for the meal twice i ate three. Was shocked with the price was 2.40 when the menu stated .80. None of these are really that big but when they all occur on the same visit it makes for an unpleasant dinner experience.

Typical Portuguese restaurant that's well patronised by the locals so you know the food quality should be decent. Service crew are most the older generation of waiters but customers won't mind as these older gentlemen are super friendly n have the knowledge of the menu. The eatery obviously does cater to a good number of foreign tourists such that the menu comes in Portuguese, English n French. The waiters also won't hesitate to recommend.. I found the food quality very decent but not awe inspiring. Just good food cooked in the traditional way..

It’s a place where there are more locals than tourists, so we decided to go here regardless some bad reviews. And it was a right choice: fresh seafood, not expensive for Lisbon. The service was regular, I didn’t see any difference in waiters behaviour when they served us or locals. My grilled sea bass was just fine, smelling a little bit charcoal as expected and it was tasty. The bill was exactly what we have ordered. Grilled sea bass, grilled cuttlefish, glass of white wine and two beers - 37 euros. Recommended. People start coming here around 20:30.

近くのホテルに宿泊したので、夕食を取りました。最初は無愛想で感じ悪かったのですが、食事中には愛想が良くなり好印象でした。基本シーフードレストランですが、肉料理もあります。メインは10～18ユーロ程度です。
チキンのグリル･ドーバーの舌平目･鱈の雑炊！どれも美味でした。
英語のメニューあります。

Comida tradicional portuguesa e ótimos grelhados em carvão.
A ementa não apresenta pratos de autor nem grande invenções mas é variada e segura. Acedem de forma natural a alterações no prato e servem com rapidez.
As sobremesas cumprem bastante bem.
Dou 5 estrelas pela consistência e por atingir o patamar de escolha segura: comer bem, sem chatices e saber com o que se conta.

Ya hace 17 años estuvimos y comimos 3 veces... Repetimos esta vez por recordar viejos tiempos... Muy bien. Lo que comimos estaba muy bien. Pero el arroz con tamboril (Rape) está espectacular.

Llegué allí por un amigo que es habitué del lugar y nos atendieron maravillosamente bien. El ambiente es familiar y todos parecen conocerse. Comí robalo y dourada grelhada, ambos muy buenos aunque la guarnición me pareció muy insulsa. Precio? Unos €25 por persona con vino y sin postre.

Von aussen unauffälliges Lokal. Beim Blick durch das Schaufenster kann man bereits den Koch beim Grillen von Fisch beobachten.
Wir waren zwei Mal hier und immer war der Fisch und die Beilagen hervorragend. Als Tourist ist man hier eher Aussenseiter unter den Gästen aus dem Viertel. Und zur Qualität kommt der erstaunlich moderate Preis.

El peor trato que he recibido. El camarero apoyando botellas en mi mesa para servir a otra... muy descarado. Les pedi que me hicieran la carne poco echa... y me la trajeron muy echa.. después como que se enfado y me trajo otro y me lo tiro encima de la mesa... deje 20€ sobre la mesa y me fui.

Ein von Einheimischen gut besuchtes Restaurant mit sehr vielen netten Kellnern. Eine breite Palette von leckeren Fisch- und Fleischgerichten wird geboten. Mit Englisch tun sie sich schwer, aber die Karte ist dafür auf Portugiesisch, Englisch und Französisch. Wir waren zwei Mal dort. Die Preise für ein Hauptgericht mit üppigen Beilagen rangieren von etwa 10 bis 20€.

Good, fresh food. Friendly staff, good recommendations from extensive wine list. Only downside is the smoke from the smoking section spreads out when they're busy. Great value for money. We've returned a few times during our stay.

You know you’re in the right place when you walk in and see a counter with fresh seafood in front of a large grill lit with red-hot charcoal. The smell of slowly roasting meat confirms that yes, in fact, whatever the unassuming look of the outside, whatever you get at Restaurante Valbom is probably going to be excellent.
I ordered the grilled pork tenderloin. My wife got the grilled salmon. Both were fantastic. The preparations were simple, but well executed: salt, garlic, pepper, and smoke. The salmon (12.50 EUR) was huge - over half a kilo - and the pork (10.00 EUR) featured three flattened medallions. Every bite was delicious. For dessert we ordered fresh strawberries with chantilly cream and the chocolate mousse - both were simple, but excellent.
The restaurant was bustling the entire time we were there (approximately 1300-1445 on a Sunday), and I suspect we were the only foreigners in the place.
If you find yourself in the area - or even if you don’t - I would highly recommend a visit. Good food at a great value.

The most amazing fresh fish ever!! Was told by a portugues friend to come to this place as he said it's the locals favorite.. Boy he was right.. I haven't had that good tasting fresh fish since I went to a fisherman's Market and got my own dam fish years ago in my town. They say just order the fish here and so we did! If I live here this is going to be the number 1 spot I come! Amazing!

Heerlijk ontvangen. Vaak word gezegd dat waar er een "tl licht" sfeer hangt, je goed kan eten. Omdat veel locals hier eten. Dat is ook in dit geval. Engels is wat lastig voor ze maar met handen en voeten en wat Google hebben we een heerlijke zalm besteld. Nog nooit zo'n malse en smaakvolle zalmmoot gegeten. Ook de wijn en kip waren echt uitzonderlijk. Groenten waren goed maar niet bijzonder. Kortom aanrader.

Great place, great service, good food and great daily selection of fresh fish and crustaceans. Owners Pereira and Dionisio are great guys and run the place smoothly.
Newcomers might find the place a bit claustrophobic due to a lack of windows.

Looking in from outsie, Valbom looks smaller than it really is. Walking in, you'll find a large space, with a warm staff.
The menu is extensive and you'll find a wide variety of fish and meat dishes.
The 'bacalhau na brasa' is well portioned and well prepared. I recommend it.
All other dishes served at the table had a good aspect and the opinions were favourable.
Worth repeating.

This place tried to cheat me. I received an itemized bill where the total was obviously about twice as much as the sum of the individual items. I told the waiter it was wrong and he added it up again in front of me, getting a different but similarly high number. I said I would pull up my phone's calculator to assist with the totaling. Faster than I could get the phone out of my pocket, he frantically scratched out the price and wrote in the correct total, apologizing for the "math error". The food was unimpressive.

Lisbon-one of my favorite cities on earth...fantastic food! so I must admit my expectations and standards are higher here than in most other places. came for dinner on recommendation from a local. everything excellent, except the bread was somehow hard/old and the garlic shrimp were slightly over cooked (rubbery). nothing dramatic, but enough to merit one star less (since five stars is perfection). still, very recommended. prices per dish not high, but by the time I was done I clocked up 42€, including starters, water and wine. surprisingly high for Lisbon. (I did double check the bill)

Sou um habitual. Comida tradicional de boa qualidade, produtos frescos, cozinha excelente, grelhados ótpimos. Muito bom peixe.Grande selecção de pratos e sempre pratos do dia. Como amante de sopas posso dizer que este é talvez o ponto fraco do restaurante. Tudo o resto é excelente. Staff sempre muito disponível. Preços razoáveis.

Our first evening, we stopped in because it was near our hotel. We had such a great meal and experience that we went back the next night! The first evening, we had the grilled sea bass and it was fresh, tender and delicious and served with generous portions of vegatables. The next night, I had the grilled cod and it had wonderful flavor. The staff were very helpful and attentive, even though we spoke no Portuguese. They also have a nice selection for dessert, including traditional Portuguese meringue cake, called Molotov cake.
