This is such a place, you immediately fall in love with. It felt like walking into the owners living room. He welcomed us with a big smile, that made me feel at home in seconds. The smell that came out of the open kitchen, was mouth-wateringly good and reminded me off my aunt Mary’s home style cooking. People left and right where animatedly sharing there life stories with each other. The interior is cool and homey, just like the waiters in this establishment. They made us feel like long time friends, without being officious. The menu was written on the wall. The diverse, authentic and honest dishes threw me back to my last trip in Alentejo. The food was truly surprising great. Old Portuguese classic recipes with a twist of the new Lisbon. Funky looking dishes with complex and deep taste. We ordered a bottle of great Portuguese red wine that went well with the wild boar with nectarines. The duck croquets where divine. We ended with one of the best desserts I had in years. And as a sweet loving woman, I can tell you, I’ve got some experience in that department. It’s was a homemade caramel ice cream with cookie crumble, simply delicious. We ended our 4 hour dinner with 5 different homemade aguardente (Really worth to ask for all the flavours, my favourite was the chilli one) and a home brewed draft beer that is infused with passionfruit. Happy and satisfied we left this place with fond memories. And many more to come...

If you see two local birthday celebrations in one restaurant, you know it’s good! We tried 4 things from the menu and Every item was so amazing and even above expectation! Also the sangria is the best we had so far! The caramel dessert was so good, I could die after eating it.

This little gem in the heart of Alfama is brimming over with hospitality and charm but the true delight of this place is in it's incredible menu. Not one thing was less than spectacular. Visit Phillip and his brigade of fantastic cooks and walk to some Fado afterward!

Estupenda comida portuguesa... Y los camareros muy atentos...puedes ver como manipulan los alimentos, y en caso de ser alérgico a algo te lo explican de maravilla para que no haya problemas médicos.

Such a beautiful place for a quality, unpretentious meal. It's the sister restaurant of Taberna Sal Grosso (the difference being that Grosso is reservation-only and Moura is walk-in). The cuttlefish (in a fantastic lime and garlic sauce) is the best I've ever had. Don't miss their octopus rice, açorda or stingray pastries either!

This bistro can get a little bit crowded, in which case you have to wait outside, if you didn’t make a reservation. At some point it seemed that the waiter had forgotten about us, as a couple who came after us and also waited outside was seated before us (we are also a couple, btw). Due to those aspects, I would have subtracted two stars but... I won’t - in fact, I can’t. And that is because their craft beer is more than decent and the food is simply SEN-SA-TIO-NAL! The BEST we ever had on a trip. Our tip: try everything.

Had the best meal here, staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the produce. The menu is designed to be shared so you can try many dishes. Very affordable and expertly cooked, would highly recommend.

Very good, we recommend the croquettes! They brew their own delicious beer! Be careful, they will charge you as a double beer! 6€ was an expensive beer, but it was still worth it

Amazing Portuguese food with a creative twist. Thankfully I stumbled upon this hidden gem while staying in Alfama.

Nous sommes venus ici sur les conseils de la taberna sal grosso, le restaurant associé. L'accueil y est aussi bon, oserais je dire presque meilleur (mais les 2 sont au top). L'endroit est plus grand mais plus bruyant. Les potatoes sont moins bonnes que les frites de sal grosso mais que dire du sanglier excellent, les crevettes porridge idem, le fromage au top et les bières tout aussi bonnes. Je recommande fortement
