Ok for a quick break. They charge different prices depending where you order from, like a coffee $1.50 at counter $1.80 at inside table and $2.00 if you order from outside table.

Leider nicht so gut! Alles war sagen wir mal mittelmäßig. Preisleistung stimmt nicht und wie es auf 4,x Sterne kommt ist mir persönlich ein Rätsel. Es war nicht total schlecht, aber einen verzehrfertigen Tütensalat mit kaltem Ziegenkäse und einem lieblosen Dressing für fast 10€ zu verkaufen ist schon dreist. Klein waren die Portionen obendrein auch. Thunfisch Steak für 16€ war okay aber die Kartoffeln und das Gemüse waren nicht gut gewürzt! Ich würde hier nicht noch mal her gehen...

Truth be told, I didn't come to Bar Alto intentionally, rather I was waiting for a spot at a popular restaurant and needed to burn 45 minutes. Having walked by and noticing the place looked cozy, I stopped in and had a cold and refreshing beer. The prices were very inexpensive and they were serving the local Super Bock. Staff were super friendly. I imagine that during summer time this place gets quite busy, but for me it was pretty quiet.

Locale piccolo ma accogliente un po' fuori da soliti locali turistici. Buona la cucina da provare il baccalà con gli spinaci e consiglio come dolce la mousse della casa. Personale attento e disponibile prezzi nella norma.

Leider überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen. Die guten Rezensionen sind mir tatsächlich ein Rätsel! Ich bin heute zufällig mit meiner Freundin in das Lokal gestolpert und ging genau so hungrig wieder heraus. Ihr couscous-Gericht wurde in der microwelle aufgewärmt und kann von der Menge nicht als Vorspeise gezählt werden. Auch mein Fleischgericht war trostlos und für den Preis lächerlich! Zusammenfassend haben wir 23€ für zwei Hauptgerichte gezahlt und sind hungrig wieder heraus.

Alcuni piatti sono buoni (specie se di pesce); me lo hanno confermato alcuni amici. Altri non corrispondono a quanto riportato nel menu, o comunque presentano diciture diverse nei menù a seconda della lingua utilizzata, il che rende difficile capire cosa si sta ordinando. Nello specifico, a me è arrivato un piatto che non corrispondeva affatto a quello ordinato (ordino formaggio di capra con rucola, e mi arriva una vera e propria insalata). Prezzi alti; personale cortese.

Wir wollten in Barrio Alto Essen gehen und sind durch Zufall auf das BarAlto getroffen. Gesucht hatten wir ein Lokal, was vor allen von Einheimischen gut besucht war. Aus dem Lokal kamen gerade deutsche Touristen die das Restaurant sehr gelobt hatten. Also sind wir rein in den kleinen Laden. Es waren fünf Doppeltische in dem Raum wo maximal 20 Personen Platz hatten. Die Wände und ebenso die Decke waren mit Grüße von Besuchern verewigt. Sehr interessant und individuell.
Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und konnten in Ruhe in einer englischen Karte wählen, was wir essen bzw. trinken wollen. Wir haben uns alle für ein leckeres Fischgericht entschieden mit Wein bzw. Mojito. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Lachs hatte eine leckere Salzkruste, der Kabeljau war im leckeren Kartoffelbrei verteilt und auch der Thunfisch war hervorragend. Wir scherzten etwas mit der Bedienung und haben sogar ein Fadovorführung erhalten. Wir haben einen absolut tollen, leckeren und entspannten Abend in dem Lokal verbracht und können ihn anstandslos weiterempfehlen. Und wir hatten sogar das Glück noch einen freien Platz an der Wand zu entdecken auf dem wir uns natürlich auch verewigt haben

Very cute place, the environment is very quite and peaceful. Dishes very typical of lisbon, and the price was fine relation quality/price excelent! We will come back for sure!

Soo, we were recommended to visit this place by our appartement host. We decided to go there since it was in the neighborhood. We booked a table for 8. So far, so good. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, staff was very professional and lovely, however I strongly disagree with the prices. 6 euros the large beer is waay too much. Beers in Dublin and London cost that much and a leter of tasty wine costs this much in other places. Main dish for 12-14 euros is way more expensive than what we saw in other places with fresh seafood and more space to move around. As far as we know, this “restaurant” has the measures of a small apartment and I am glad to pay 6 euros for a beer if I can piss in a toilet which does not touch my legs when I try to get out of the 2m2 space. Overall, we don’t regret it. However, campared to a restaurant in SINTRA, where we paid half the price and the food was the most delicious thing ever, we would not return there. By the way, all those comments on the walls may be true for some people, but in our opinion, it is overrated in every way.

We hadden blijkbaar geluk dat we hier bij toeval een tafel konden krijgen toen we er langsliepen, want enkele minuten later zat het kleine, gezellige restaurantje vol. De ontvangst was hartelijk en charmant: er werd een speciale schotel gemaakt voor ons zoontje van zeven, niet zo'n grote eter. De Chef's prawns waren overheerlijk. De porties dik in orde. En ook genoten van het dessert. Als je de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding in acht neemt, is dit top. Ons zoontje kreeg er nog wat entertainment bovenop!

Petit restaurant qui ne paie pas de mine mais les plats sont excellents et l'accueil familial. Pensez à réserver, sans ça vous risquez de ne pas avoir de table.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had while staying in Lisbon!!! Hands down the best. The bacalhau has amazing flavor and is definitely worth trying, even if you don’t really like cod fish. You won’t be disappointed by choosing this place for your cozy romantic dinner spot.

Food was ok but not good enough to go back, I would probably cook better at home. Mussels rated like they were tinned or marinated, not like fresh. Cash only.

Small cute & family atmosphere restaurant with funky decoration and good Balance of Portuguese traditional and healthy food. Staff is correct and excellent! Delicious and well presented dishes. I love it!

Lovely staff here and great food - the best we had in Lisbon... and for a reasonable price! Any restaurant that hands its customers a pen in case they want to write a message / leave a review on the actual walls inside the restaurant must be confident they are providing a good service... and these guys are rightly confident! Great place - we'll be back next time!

Serveuse très sympas mais sangria en cubi, Gaspacho en boîte, légumes surgelés, cuisine sans goût en général. Bien trop cher pour ce que c'est, un attrape touristes et ne rend pas la monnaie, dommage.

Es tracta d’un lloc petit, acollidor i que no intenten enganyar al turista. El servei és molt atent i discret. El menjar és molt correcte, bo i ben fet. Potser tenen alguna petita errada com que el bacallà amb espinacs, que per cert estava molt bo, resulta que dels cantons estava molt calent però al mig no tant, senyal d’haver-lo escalfat malament al microones.
El preu es de tipus mig al estil de Barrio Alto, però aquí es compensa pel tracte que rebut.
Al final et conviden a deixar la teva opinió escrita a la paret amb un retolador. Nosaltres els vam donar les gràcies per l’estona agradable que hi vam passar. Us el recomano.

Kleines Restaurant im Baro Alto mit sehr sehr freundlichem Personal! Die Karte ist relativ klein, aber die Qualität des Essens hat uns überzeugt. Das Restaurant füllt sich sehr schnell! Wer auf Nummer sicher gehe will sollte reservieren. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall

Ristorante nel cuore di Bairro Alto, piccolo ed accogliente a conduzione famigliare, personale gentile. Porzioni non abbondanti ma ben servite ma soprattutto ottime, abbiamo provato il polpo arrostito con patate e peperoni e il guanciale di maiale con puré: entrambi i piatti squisiti. A fine cena é possibile scrivere sul muro una frase come ricordo della serata. Sicuramente da provare, merita per l'atmosfera e il buon cibo della tradizione portoghese!

Increíble, buenisimo y barato. Trato genial y en tema calidad precio, la calidad supera con creces por el precio que pagas. Es muy barato y es el mejor sitio donde hemos ido a comer en toda la zona de Lisboa. No lo penséis dos veces y entrar dentro.

Un sommet de l'escroquerie alimentaire et financière : tout est dégueulasse, en quantité ridicule et hors de prix. Bien évidemment on nous a pigeonné (4€ le pasteis de Nata alors qu'ils sont vendus 1,5€ dans toute la ville!). Le vin vendu au verre sort d'un cubis. On a attendu 30 minutes. Les 2 assiettes ont été servies avec 5 minutes d'attente entre les deux. Les clients rasaient la table et nous dérangeaient.

The cozy restaurant is really charming, the waitresses super kind and the food absolutely great. A small card with various dishes from meat, fish and vegetables. The octopus was super soft and tasted great. Wine also very nice and the whole atmosphere is perfect. Definitely worth a visit.

Restaurante muy cuco. El gaspacho es una delicia, y el pulpo aún no lo he probado pero promete. El vino también muy bueno, la camarera muy profesional. Un 10 en toda regla. No sé porque la Peña se va años otros restaurantes turísticos q están al lado. Igual porque este es un poco más Carrillo pero merece la pena pagar un poquito más y disfrutar de este magnífico servicio y sin turistas ;)
