Very nice spot for a romantic dinner. Avarage food quality. High quality ingredients but mediocre preparation. Kitchen very very slow. What about the service? We were very well welcomed by Jessica but our waiter wasn't nice at all. Eventually, after we complained about the time we waited, another waiter apologized and was very nice to us. Price in my opinion is too high for the quality of cooking. Tasteless octopus salad, poorly presented Cataplana de Peixe (fish cataplan) seemed overcooked.

Schönes Restaurant and grandioser Lage. Wer das Glück hat, bei aufkommender Flut dort zu sein, erlebt ein tolles Schauspiel. Das Essen ist gut. Klassischer Service mit Bedienung nach alter Schule.

O peixo da primeira vez veio um pco cru, mas depois remediaram e fizeram o peixe renovo em condições. Estam de parabéns pelo serviço e resolução. Empregados 5* e casa 5* com uma vista deslumbrante.

Pretentious and nice views, service slow when we arrived and completely forgot hubbys starter. Had their special piri piri chicken. Not impressed. More bone than chicken.
Was still eating last bit of chicken, when they attempted to clear the table...
Other folk happily sitting their puffing away of their cigs, having finished before us...

Last visited 12 years ago. Still run by the same people and just as good now as it was then.

Удивительное место на самом берегу океана. Очень лёгкий, светлый, воздушный интерьер, огромные панарамные окна, которые выходят на бескрацний океан и широкий песчаный пляж, очень красиво.
Кухня тоже очень вкусная, много местной рыбы в меню. Есть еда на любой вкус. Хороший выбор вин, очень вкусный кофе.
Если будете неподалёку обязательно посетите это заведение

Lekker gegeten. Heerlijke biefstuk. Wel aan de prijs voor Portugese begrippen. We hoopten dat het buiten verlicht was, zodat we de rotsen konden filmen. Helaas. Veel personeel in de bediening. Drie personen voor 3 tafeltjes en nog een gastvrouw, die de deur open deed bij het weggaan.

Restaurante à beira mar na Praia de Olhos de Água mas com preços que estamos habituados a pagar em restaurantes de luxo , o que não é o caso. O atendimento é muito insatisfatório mais uma vez quando fazemos a análise qualidade/preço. O tempo de espera é excessivo .

Super restaurant ! Nous avons mangé ici hier midi , nous avons pris deux Cataplana au poisson (spécialité portugaise) et nous avons été très satisfaits ! Personnel sympathique et la cataplana était délicieuse et copieuse !!!!
En plus le cadre est magnifique juste au bord de mer avec une superbe vue !!!!
Je recommande vivement !

C'est un endroit privilégié : une vue magnifique sur la plage et les rochers, une carte très variée où vous trouverez beaucoup de spécialités portugaises et un service excellent. Les prix sont très raisonnables. A ne pas manquer !

Je mets une étoile parce que la vue (si vous avez de la chance )et la serveuse sont sympas ..... mais tout le reste ne vaut pas les prix exorbitants ... un couple anglais arrivés en même temps que nous est parti après la lecture de la carte et des tarifs ...
La photo avec les gambas me faisait saliver mais à 40 euros.l assiette de 5 crevettes nous nous sommes rabattus sur 3 tranches de filet mignon sans saveur servies avec 1/3 de tomate pour 20 euros l assiette. .. pas de vue devant l océan car pas de réservation à 3 (avec un enfant qui lui avait quand même une assiette garnie mais pour 7 euros ) et parce qu une seule partie de la terrasse était ouverte . trop déçue de la note à 70 euros avec un enfant ...

Hemos cenado dos veces y cenaria muchas mas !!! Pescado buenisimo fresquisimo muy bien elaborado , muy sencillo no es nada sofisticado pero no le hace falta . De los restsurantes con mas gentes del lugar, por algo sera, servicio muy atento y profesional. Quiero volver!!!

Rare restaurant avec superbe vue sur mer imprenable.MAIS cela se paye.Plats corrects.quantité suffisante mais prix similaire à d autres restaurants bien plus copieux. Affichage d un prix d'attaque à l entrée mais finalement le menu n est pas d un bon rapport qualité prix. Les a-cotes café boissons dessert....sont très chers .une salade + un steak haché =20€.ok. 2 jus d orange ( à 2.95 chaque !!) + 1 café + 1 mousse chocolat 10€.d où une étoile en moins.
Ceci dit personnel aimable .menu en francais.
Toilettes modernes neufs propres .....

Me gusta el sitio, espectaculares vistas, a pie de playa, puedes dejar las cosas en la playa y subir escalones para comer.
Es, literalmente, un balcón sobre la playa.
Respecto a la comida, no quiero opinar mucho porque no pedimos cosas significativas. Sardinas, regular. Ensalada de pulpo, rica pero poca cantidad.
Como anécdota decir q se equivocaron con la cuenta pero no pusieron ninguna pega cuando detectamos el error.

We saved our visit to La Cigale for a birthday celebration. We were not disappointed. Service was quick and attentive without being overbearing. The food exceeded our expectations. Between us we had bream, sole and squid all of which were excellent. When the bill came we were pleasantly surprised. Good food, not cheap but good value.

We came by for a light snack. We ordered a mushroom omelette and a cheeseburger.
We were brought a cheese OMELETTE and a mushroom omelette. We told upfront we were in a rush as we had an appointment afterwards but they were willing to change my plate. The omelettes came with greasy chips and some bits of outdated lettuce, onions and tomatoes.
I know it's just opening after lockdown but for a restaurant at that location and prices it should be better, no matter what.
Been there before 2 years ago and at that time it was very good. Now we paid €20,- for 2 omelettes (1 that wasn't wanted) and 2 sparkling waters.
Very disapointed, hope they will improve their quality and service before the season starts.
On a good note; beautiful view and they obeyed all regulations and it was clean and tidy

Mais surtout 2,90 € par personne pour "utiliser les couverts" là c'est vraiment exagéré
Pour 4 personnes ce sucout correspond à près de 7% de majoration de la note
La prochaine fois soit j'emmènerai mes propres couverts , soit je mangerai avec mes doigts
Pourquoi pas aussi facturé la serviette ou la le verre ??

Mais appelez un chat un chat !!
Sur carte en francaus comme sur la note vous notez " couvert"
Et couvert ce n'est pas amuse bouche
Et pour votre gouverne les amuses bouche ne sont jamais payantes ...
Renseignez vous également de votre côté
Et puisque vous insistez, apprenez à lever les filet de sole
Facturé plus de 40 € les arrêtes latérales cassé à la cuillère

Possivelmente por termos cara de tugas e não ter o traje de domingo vestido, fomos ignorados pelos funcionários durante os 15 ou 20 minutos que estivemos sentados à mesa. Nem uma pergunta... E as mesas do lado com outro serviço. Óbviamente que arrumamos as cadeiras e fomos almoçar a outro sítio. Obrigado pela descriminação.

L’offerta e il sevizio sono modesti. Il costo è veramente elevato. Con lo stesso menu e con lo stesso servizio si trovano molti altri ristoranti. Probabilmente il costo è riferibile unicamente alla posizione in riva al mare ma direi che non conviene mangiare tuttalpiù un caffè

Attention... Arnaque en vue... Poisson payé au poids , le prix n'étant indiqué que sur la carte à l'intérieur, une fois assis à votre table... Et servit avec 3 pauvres petites patates tièdes et une mini salade ... Sans compter , que l'on vous fait également payer «le couvert» , 2€80... / personne .

Pour moi un des meilleur spot de L'Algarve...arrivés un peu par hasard très tard vers 14h.15h nous avons été très bien reçus. Service impeccable et plats de qualité!!! Je recommande vivement.
Je pense qu' en pleine saison il vaut mieux réserver.

Nous sommes allés déjeuner hier midi c’est la deuxième fois que nous y allons toujours aussi sympa l’accueil en français le service a l’écoute et rapide la cuisine d’un bon niveau pour un prix raisonnable Sans oublier la vue sur la plage et la mer

Lo único bueno de este sitio son las vistas que tiene. La atención bastante mala, el camarero que nos atendió no fue muy agradable que digamos.
Respecto a la comida, pedimos un arroz con marisco ya que estaba entre las especialidades del restaurante. Creo que es el peor arroz que he comido en toda mi vida. Llevaba tanto cilantro que es a lo único que sabía... conclusión, no lo recomendaría nunca...

Plats sans goût et 1H20 d'attente avec une salle à moitié vide... Rapport qualité/prix désastreux car ce n'est pas peu cher. L'équipe n'est ni agréable ni commerçante.
Le cadre est en revanche très apprécié, depuis la plage la vue vaut la peine mais pour manger passez votre chemin ;)

Después de buscar un lugar especial para comer buen marisco y pescado, y leer las recomendaciones, nos esperábamos algo mucho mejor.
La calidad de la comida es bastante mediocre, así como el ambiente en general. Es cierto que es complicado encontrar un buen restaurante en la zona y entiendo que, comparado con el resto, La Cigale este considerado la mejor opción. Sin embargo, la comida no es espectacular y el precio es bastante elevado.
Se puede percibir que el servicio esta acostumbrado a tratar con turistas de una sola visita. Se equivocaron al servirnos la comida y al preguntar al camarero este intento buscar una excusa en vez de una solución.
Claramente positivo, las vistas a la playa, durante le cena el atardecer fue precioso.

Excellent restaurant with stunning views over the wonderfully picturesque beach below. Great fish and you can even choose your own from the counter with the waiter helpfully wieghing and giving you a price to help you choose. This may not be the cheapest restaurant around (it is not ridiculously expensive either) but it is, in my opinion, one of the best for an overall great dining experience with great food, great views and great service too. You will not see the sunset from here as it goes behind the cliffs but dont let that put you off.

3 Sterne: Lage, Freundlichkeit, Getränke.
Die Lage von dem Restaurant ist sehr schön und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Im Innenbereich sind eine Theke mit frischem Fisch und ein Aquarium mit lebenden Krustentieren.
Der Fisch schmeckt gut, ist jedoch sehr fett und die Kartoffeln dazu leider auch. Es wird sehr viel Öl bei der Zubereitung verwendet. Das ist vielleicht gut für den Geschmack aber leider nicht für den Magen, vor allem wenn man einen empfindlichen Magen hat, nicht zu empfehlen. Mir ist das fette Essen leider den ganzen Nachmittag im Magen gelegen, dazu kam leider auch Übelkeit und Durchfall.
Es wird ein Gedeck von € 1,65 pro Person verrechnet. Die Getränkepreise sind in Ordnung. Die Preise für die Speisen sind gehobener, Portion Wolfsbarsch € 15,- und ein Dessert ca. € 5,-.
Ich war einmal dort, wenn ich wieder hin gehe, dann nur auf einen Café oder ein Getränk, Essen bestimmt nicht mehr.

Literalmente, um roubo!!! Pedimos robalo grelhado e apresentaram-nos no talão de venda o preço 65€/kg, perguntamos onde se encontrava fixado o preço, disseram-nos: “no computador”. Não nos foi comunicado previamente e não encontrámos qualquer evidência do preço apresentado.

Just been here. It's off peak and so nice and quiet. Had the grilled sardines with a tomato salad and I have to say it was fantastic. I thought the prices were very reasonable too but like I say it's off peak now and that may make a difference I don't know

The food was OK, the service was excellent and the price was a little high but the views and location were perfect. You should expect to pay a little more for this.

Nice views but the food is rubbish and a complete rip off.3 kids main courses, 2 adult starters and 2 very very ordinary main courses and some deserts out of the freezer with a bottle of very average white wine was €170! La Cigale is much worse than the average Portuguese restaurant. Avoid.

Non si mangia male, soltanto sono disonesti e approfittatori, ho portato una bottiglia che mi era stata regalata, mi hanno fatto pagare 15 euro per il servizio di "quella bottiglia" ripeto approfittatori, vuol dire che se paghi 20 vale 5 , il resto e profitto (disonesto)

Melhor experiência do que o Pássaro Azul.
Comeram-se cataplana e peixe grelhado - posta de garoupa.

Sehr gutes essen zu überhöhten preisen. Leicht aufgesetzte Freundlichkeit. waren nur einmal dort - zum Glück gibt es viele weitere Anbieter in der Nähe, bei denen man auch gute bezahlbare Speisen erhält.

Like every single restaurant near the beach in Portugal, the prices are ridiculous. A completely rip-off. Even worse when the quality of the food is low. I ordered chicken and I got something resembling a chicken that was barely warmed up and dry. A result of re-heating it again. And the potatoes looks like they were reused from a previous customer. The only good thing is the view to the beach.

This place is the best location on the beach front but the menu is expensive and the food mediocre. The service appeared more important than the customer. Sorry folks didn't enjoy this one very poor value for kids. Wine choice was good but expensive compared to surrounding establishments. Could be the best spot in town if offered better value to its customers.

Ignore previous reviews! Excellent food, incredible views and despite what previous have said the staff were very friendly and spoke English. We had 3 courses and shared a fantastic Sau Blanc for 87euros, worth every penny.

Service ok mais bien cher pour un petit restaurant en bord de mer on a payé plus de 75 euro pour une dorade pour 2 personnes et 2 petits désert et 1 bouteille d'eau !! Les prix sont vraiment cher à ce prix là on mange dans un restaurant de luxe à villamura!

Children's meals were rubbish.
This place is in a lovely location and is quite busy but getting the waiters attention is difficult unless they've seated you in one of their premier tables on the veranda. That would be our aim next time. Food was presented well but on a par with all the other restaurants nearby. You're paying for the location and drinks selection.

tolle Lage, bestes superfrisches Seafood-wir hatten cataplana- und ab dem zweiten Besuch war der Empfang sehr herzlich. Bester regionale Weine aus einer recht ansehnlichen Karte! kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Nichts ist billig und die Preise sind angemessen.

We had a grilled salmon, grilled Mackrell and kids had a burger. Fish was very good , burger below avarage. As for the service- weer didn't feel welcome at all.

Man bezahlt den herrlichen Ausblick. Die Steaks waren höchstens durchschnittlich. Dünn und klein. Wer richtig gut essen will, wird enttäuscht sein. Der Service war ebenfalls durchschnittlich. Die Preise sind überdurchschnittlich.

Simply one of the best restaurants in Algarve. The "Arroz de Marisco" is a bit expensive, but for the price (for 2 persons) you get totally fresh seafood, awesome quality in taste and quality.
There are some comments here regarding the price .... What would you expect when you come to one of the best restaurants in Algarve??? Eat awesome seafood and pay as much as you pay on a McDonalds?? Get real!

Preposterously overpriced, not great service, portions are tiny but the little you get us good. Great view of the beach. This place is living on it's reputation. We probably will skip it next time we visit the Algarve.
Also check the bill for mysterious extra items. That seems to be a regular scam here!
