I randomly found this lovely cafe in Lisbon and loved it!! I got the Earl grey chocolate waffles, it was AMAZING!!! Earl grey mousse with crispy waffles and tasty chocolate sauce, perfection!!

Solid breaky! All the things you expect to have with some yummy surprises. Halloumi cheese, Parma ham and delicious fresh spinach. Try getting here before lunch to avoid the rush—right beside tourist central at the Time Out Market.

Nice spot to sit outside and grab a drink. Overall good drinks. I can’t really say much about the food, as I only got guacamole and chips which was okay. Staff was fast and friendly.

The cheese toastie was so good! And the hot sauce was just so amazing! I wish I could buy it by the bottle.
Also the cafe itself felt super funky and in an awesome spot in Lisbon. Would definitely recommend this place

What a cute little spot. The interior is tastefully decorated and the use of wood and live plants give it such an organic and vibrant feel to it. I ordered a cold brew coffee which was nice and a vegan carrot cake which was ok. I recommend this place if you want to have a quiet morning and just relax. The prices were fair and the service was good

This place does the BEST Bloody Mary's! The bar staff are so friendly and fun. We were a big group on a hen do and they accommodated us outside no problem. 100% recommend!

Forget about the nearby Timeout market, this is the place to get brunch when everywhere else looks fully booked and/or crammed with tourists. They offer a simple but fresh brunch and breakfast menu, everything is prepared on the premises and served prettily without being overdone. Fresh juices and teas are not to miss too. Excellent service (they speak English) with outdoor as well as indoor sitting and sparkly clean loos upstairs. Prices are good too!

I will start with a negative point: barista is not flexible with coffee requests. I am not used to have this kind of issue when I pay some extra just to get a good cup of coffee. I love americano, but not a FULL cup; love when it has a little bit less water, so I could add milk in it just to my taste(of course, I pay extra for milk). However, when I asked for it - "short americano", I was told they will not make it, and suggested to bring me macchiato, which is much stronger than short americano. I let it pass just because I was in a good mood. Today similar issue happened to a friend of mine. This is so not cool, guys! No one asks to spend an extra products, its just a question of being served as you asked. Especially there was literally almost no guests, which should make it even easier. I worked in restaurant industry for a few years, and have a perfect notion how good service should work.
I guess this is my longest review ever, just because I want to continue to stop by and get a lovely service. I go to Janis usually 2-3 a week. My favourites are: Portobello burguer, banana bread and the coffee beans are quite good. And I reall like the plants and interior design. Not all waiters are polite,but my favourite ones normally come to work in the afternoon.

Sirven bebidas que no saben servir. Pésimos dos Martini, uno blanco y uno mezcla. Primero decían que no sabían que era mezclar blanco y rosso. Y después trajeron un mezcla y otro rojo. Al final mal y lo que les dio la gana.
Vienesin hielo, se paga a parte. El precio el doble que en España. La cantidad el país más tacaño del mundo. En España te tomas un Martini por 2 o 3 euros y lo que te sobra te lo venden en Lisboa por 5.

Super friendly Staff, healthy selection with few vegetarian options for those who need it, oat or soy milk options for the non-dairy amigos, I had the checkchouka and it was a win, the waffle chocolate was beyond expectations and my sister in law had the avo toast.. overall, hard to find a spot like this with smiles to foreigners in Lisboa! Enjoy!

Fantastic homemade amaro cocktails: the Janis Amaro Sour has a wonderfully balanced flavour and is scented with dry camomile, the Janis Amaro Spritz is a great sundowner! Great service that makes it easy to return again and again...

Espaço super agradavel, apesar de ser pequeno e as mesas tambem. Pedimos o brunch, 18euros, com bebida fria, quente, prato e fruta/granola etc. A comida é boa e as doses bastante simpaticas. O staff tambem é simpatico e atencioso. Vale a pena experimentar sozinho ou acompanhado.

Beautiful place decorated very nicely and trendy.
Definitely worth a visit.
The food although a little pricey (comparing to similar cafes) is definitely worth it because it tastes delicious.
The staff is super helpful and friendly.
Can't wait to be back to Lisbon to eat here again!

Perfect, best breakfast in Lisboa. The menu is smartly set up with tuned meals. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. The prices are slightly above average but it pays off (expected around 15-20 Euro per person for breakfast).

This place is a total gem, caters for all but as a veggie beer drinking couple it was fantastic. The Musa APA on draught is lovely, and the veggie food choices are great. Have to say the staff were so warm and friendly, we were even given a hug goodbye!

Do not hesitate or doubt, go to cafe Janis for breakfast/brunch.. but wait until after 31/10/2018 as we don’t want you to take our place when we return ☺️!

This great cafe was on the corner next to where I was staying. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I can highly recommend the avo toast and the goats cheese honey salad, both were wonderful and a great find for me as I dont eat any types of meat so my choices in Lisbon were limited.
Can definitely recommend!

Greatest place of our trip to Lisbon! We ate there twice and I could had done it every day! The food is simply amazing (awesome garlic shrimps! Very recommended) and thank you to the super nice sisters that were working there those days! Always with a smile in their faces and super great service! Definitely coming back next time in town!

Person who cooked shakshuka obviously didn’t know what it is. Is literally was eggs over packed tomato sauce. No veggies, onions, nothing. I was surprised to get this meal for this money.

Ok halloumi veggie sandwich. Halloumi was nicely grilled. Avocado was rope and yummy. Cabbage was not freshly cut , bread was toasted but very poor quality. Then a few items seemed to missing the grilled courgette was either a tiny ration or completely absent. And the mayo was advertised as homemade and and basil infused. Definitely wasn't the latter. Given the bread quality the price was steep 8eu I thought. Service was fast and friendly

Great breakfast place. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. I had the Italian focaccia which tasted excellent (9 eur) followed by banana bread with cream which was good too. The cappuccino tasted great.
Too bad they don't have a formula that offers a bit better value for money and would include coffee, juice and a sandwich. Now it one of the more expensive places but still worth it!

Coffee shop de día y restaurante con posibilidad de beber copas de noche. Probamos la hamburguesa de pulled pork, el grilled cheese y de postre el banana bread. Todo una delicia! La limonada de té matcha y albahaca fue todo un acierto. Nos quedamos con ganas de descubrir más en profundidad la carta del brunch, pero es una buena excusa para volver. El personal es caluroso y servicial, todo el rato con la sonrisa en los labios.

Cafe Janis is an all-round excellent cafe. Great food, service and ambience. The food is tasty and innovative with lots of delicious touches like pickles & grilled fennel seeds. I love the cheesy pancetta toast and special bun!

You can’t get wrong with Janis! The food is great, high quality with great vegan and vegetarian options! The Vegan Bowl was delicious, and also the zucchini salad. For desert we had the chocolate chip cookie, which was delightful.

Super Brunch-Ort, jedoch mussten wir etwas warten, da alle Tische besetzt waren. Bedienung war super freundlich. Das erste Pain Au Chocolate ging leider vergessen, aber sonst waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das Essen hat nicht nur lecker ausgeschaut, sondern auch super geschmeckt.

Sehr leckeres, gesundes Frühstück! Für 18€ bekommt man im „Brunch“ Menü ein Heißgetränk, ein Glas frisch gepressten Orangensaft, Granola mit Früchten oder Bananenbrot und ein großes herzhaftes Frühstück. Die Portionen waren riesig, wir haben nicht alles geschafft. Das Personal war sehr flexibel, ist auf Extrawünsche eingegangen und auch sonst sehr freundlich. Insgesamt super lecker und sehr zu empfehlen.

Colazione decisamente soddisfacente.
Bar e ambiente curato, la proposta mi è veramente piaciuta che sono stato titubante su cosa scegliere per almeno cinque minuti!
L'insalata di spaghetti di zucchine con feta e noci era squisita, e gli extra di avocado e uovo non da meno.
Nota di merito per la quantità del piatto che era veramente saziante e soddisfacente.
Ci ritornerei!

Super leckeres Essen und das Bier schmeckt gut.
Wir haben Burger gegessen und diese waren super lecker mit Pommes . Die Kellner sind sehr nett und das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet mit vielen Blumen und die Toilette ist gut.
Das war unser bester Burger in Lissabon, das Personal versteht sein Beruf. Kann das Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen

Great food. Had meat balls, burger and salmon. All was really great and service very comfortable and welcoming. Don’t cheat yourself from a great cup of coffee (best so far for us in Lisbon). Great juice (tried orange and detox).

Intimate and friendly, this is a lovely little café. Great service, stylish decor and the food is excellent. Enjoyed cocktails one evening and a couple of delicious brunches here, perched on the pavement in the sun. Delightful.

We stopped by chance at Café Janis & it was an great discovery! The tapas are very tasty and the cocktails are delicious! Ideal for a drink after work in the welcoming atmosphere of a Parisian bistrot. We experienced the real « Apéro » time with great pleasure!

Lovely café - very kind staff, delicious food and nice decor. They opened yesterday which was our first day in Lisbon and we were lucky to have found it. Would definitely recommend it! We loved the wine, olives, chips and carrots.
