The best restaurant in Peniche. Look no further for quality. Here are the reasons:
- The atmosphere and decoration are splendid. As an example, the floor is made in fashion of the traditional Portuguese mosaic floor.
- The food is of the best quality. The taste and the aromas of the dishes are top notch.
- There is also a wide selection of wine for those that appreciate it.
Bonus points:
- For dessert, make sure to order the Knapoleon. The taste is to die for.

Spent the last two evenings of my holiday here and don‘t regret it at all. Certainly one of the best restaurants in the area with more then reasonable prices.

This restaurant in Peniche makes the difference! Menu is great and the service awesome.

Atendimento 5 estrelas, boa escolha de vinhos, qualidade excelente de enchidos e queijos, produtos de excelência no que toca a carnes e peixes. É tudo tão bom que a escolha se torna um pouco difícil para quem já conhece a carta..no entanto nos favoritos está sem duvida o prato de pato!

We, a party of 4, had a delicious meal here last night 24/8. The staff are lovely and carefully guide you through their interesting and varied menu. There are daily specials and two of us chose the very generous and tasty filleted sea bass. The vegetarian options are very pleasing and satisfying too. Desserts went down very well. Everything was beautifully presented. All in all a delightful experience.

Local pequeño, difícil tener sitio, pero tuvimos la suerte de poder cenar. Todo muy bien. Intentamos repetir otro día pero no fue posible. Lo recomiendo.

Un sitio muy agradable y con estilo. Buen servicio de terraza y los platos q vimos tenían muy buena pinta. Tienen buen surtido de cervezas y vinos y el trato fue agradable y atento. Recomiendo.

Sem o mínimo sentido de responsabilidade de um casa com as portas abertas. Mais de 1 hora à espera do jantar, com mesas ao lado, que chegaram depois, a serem servidas em primeiro lugar, sendo que o mínimo que nos disseram foi "só mais 5 minutos" e "obrigada e boa noite". Sítio que não recomendo.

Convivial ,très bon accueil, cuisine divine. Seul bémol le restaurant ne prend que les CB du Portugal donc avoir toujours du liquide avec soi. Et ce n' est inscrit nul part. Dommage

Os aMericanO's est un restaurant très agréable où l'on se sent bien et surtout on y mange très bien' le boeuf, le canard, tout est delicieux, les vins sont très agréables aussi et les desserts étaient délicieux. Je recommande vivement. Allez-y les yeux fermés, vous ne le regretterez pas.

Excellent contemporary food with a regional influence. Highly recommended. During the high season it is best to book ahead. Not a large place so is definitely not mass catering in any way. Very good indeed, with nice atmosphere.

5 star service by our waiter Rui. 5 star food with clearly a great cook who also comes to your table. And a gracious owner too. Nobody will be dissapointed. Super good sensibly presented normal food.

Not only was the food fantastic but we were greeted by the owner upon arrival and the met the chef when she came out to ask us how are meal was. Following this they generously offered us shots of brandy and even catered for the non alcoholic option in our group. I cannot complement this establishment and it's staff enough. Worth at least 1 night of your holiday

Este restaurante é bastante pequeno, no entanto não vi isso como uma desvantagem. É realmente acolhedor. Uma desvantagem é não ter ar condicionado, porque quando chegámos para jantar ainda estava calor e foi um pouco incómodo. Em relação à experiência, o bacalhau estava realmente muito bom, conforme nos foi indicado, assim como o cheesecake. Na minha opinião parece que tentam demasiado ser um restaurante "chique" quando não era necessário tanto formalismo, o que prejudica, pois tudo demorava muito tempo a chegar à mesa. De resto, gostei!

Muy buena la comida y el servicio. La lubina sin espinas muy rica. Además como tenia dolores de tripa pedí un arroz con jengibre y me lo prepararon muy bien. Repetiremos.

Comfortable, small restaurant with really tasteful food (we had mushroom consomme, bolinhas d'alheira, octopus salad and the best pannacota ever) for a more than reasonable price. And a warm attention! We'll be back.

Scottati dalla sera precedente al O Sardinha (una cena orribile), abbiamo deciso di abbandonare il lungo mare per avventurarci nelle stradine più interne ed è stata un'ottima idea! Os Americano's è un locale accogliente, raccolto e curato dove abbiamo ben mangiato e ben bevuto. Gentilissimo il personale. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Da non perdere!

Esperienza ottima. Cibo squisito, cameriere rapido, competente, paziente e parlava perfettamente inglese. Rapporto qualità/prezzo perfetto. La chef è venuta anche in sala a fare conversazione, dolce e simpatica.
Una serata davvero perfetta.

I have mixed feelings for this restaurant, one the one hand the staff was lovely and really helpful. The food was very nice, the dishes resembled top cuisine. But the atmosphere was exactly the opposite, it felt like a town bar and the prices way too high.
I'm not sure this restaurant can survive in the grey area between the two, either renovate to match other higher class restaurants, or cut down on prices and make it more family friendly.
The affectionate attitude that the owners showed will help you in both

Excellent service, very caring. Main courses were awesome ( duck breast perfectly cooked, and chicken cordon bleu with a bacon sauce that was mouth watering). Unfortunately, the starters and the Sangria were not that good. Even so, would not hesitate in going there again. Overall, very good.

Llegamos a cenar por casualidad y no solo la comida, el trato también fue exquisito. Los pimientos rellenos, la dorada y el bacalao fueron cocinados a un muy alto nivel. Venimos de Bilbao (País Vasco) y no había probado una dorada tan rica en otro sitio.
Restaurante dirigido por una pareja que lleva a a sus espaldas un largo trayecto de duro trabajo. Tras su regreso de Nueva York, llevan 2 años sacando adelante este negocio que sin duda lo hacen de una forma muy profesional.
La chef nos permitió el lujo de poder conocerla y la verdad es que les doy un +11/10.

Sejam menos Amadores, mais Humildes e respeitem as opiniões contrárias. Sitio apertado sem condições de acessibilidade para pessoas com necessidades. Pouco ou nada profissional visto não aguentarem críticas que não são do vosso agrado e comida realmente muito enjoativa e sem imaginação. Como taberna realmente merece as quatro estrelas, mas como restaurante deixa muito a desejar. Por favor sejam menos amadores e mais humildes. Respeitem as opiniões contrárias. Fica-lhes muito mal só gostarem de ler coisas a vosso favor. Revela falta de inteligência e de espírito critico. Aprender com os erros faz parte. Mas duvido que consigam lá chegar

I´m totally upset with this matter: my wife wrote an opinion about this place and it was deleted by "someone" who also send her a private message in Portuguese threatening "to do everything to be denounced" because he didn´t like to ear these words of that restaurant and basically saying that my wife is a lier and jealouse person.
So, what kind of people are they??... If you don´t like the place they harass you?? At the point to access illegally to her account on Tripadvisor and delete the note everytime that she tries to publish it??...
I also was there with her and family and it was our opinion!!!
As my wife cannot make it, I do it for her, saying again the same words and hopping that this time our opinion will be respected:
"We really didn´t like it. We expected to find a 5 stars restaurant and we found a proper bar with an ordinary food and a very rudimentary service. It´s unacceptable have to be watching the rude owner sitting by the bar with his legs oppened while we are having dinner. Disgusting! Wasted money and time. We don´t recommend it at all."

Incontournable à Péniche!!!. Nous avons vraiment très bien diner!!! Poivrons farcis, crevettes cuisinées, magret de canard aux prunes et bien sur bacalhau, tout est excellent. Préparez vous à passer un moment en toute décontraction! Paul et toute l'équipe sont d'une gentillesse extrême. Encore merci...

Fue el único sitio donde cenamos en Peniche así que no podemos comparar con nada, pero tanto la atención de la camarera, la ambientación del restaurante, la calidad de la comida y el precio son perfectos.
Todo lo que probamos fue muy sabroso y original, en la carta tienen pocos platos y después exponen en una pizarra más platos del día que te explican los camareros, si están recomiendo los "baked mushrooms" son espectaculares, según nos explicó el cocinero estan rellenos de queso y espinacas.
La atención es genial, no sólo por la amabilidad y eficiencia, se preocupan porque todo este bien.

Já chegamos tarde mas fomos bem recebidos. O serviço é bom e embora a escolha dos pratos seja limitada, foram um surpresa. Recomendo o Cordon Blue e para sobremesa o Cheese cake. Boa relação qualidade preço.

This place is the bomb...the feel is local, relaxed & authentic with great food & a little twist on dishes... felt very happy to linger here for the night...a place you could just keep coming back to & a local that we all would love to have at home..the small team of staff are all delightful...the owner is the real deal perfect host & has lived in the US for years so could basically be American.... but luckily for us he & his wife (an excellent cook) have settled back in Peniche after many years away...has only been opened 3:months, but feels like has always been there

The restaurant is a small, really nice place. Both the owner and the waiter were super friendly and treated everyone almost like family. The food was great, the steak was exactly on point and the Bacalhau was the best we had so far in Portugal. Definitely worth a try. Bonus: the waiter is a great singer!
