Der Ort Castelo do Neiva ist unscheinbar beherbergt aber eine Insel der Erholung mit stilvollen Luxus in Form eines alten Herrenhauses mit großen Garten. Eine große alte Mauer grenzt den Ort mit dem Herrenhausgarten ab. Ich habe hier 4 Nächte auf unserer Portugal Rundreise verbracht und diese Unterkunft war die herausragendste gewesen. Wenn notwendig hat man immer einen Ansprechpartner da Carla unter Tags an der Rezeption ist oder innerhalb der großen Anlage über Telefon. Man ist sehr frei und kann kommen und gehen wann man will. Dafür bekommt man einen elektronischen Türöffner. Wir hatten ein Gartengästehaus das sehr nobel eingerichtet war wie ein Herrenhaus Zimmer. Eine kleine Küche, die völlig Ausreichen eingerichtet ist, macht einen unabhängig. Der Tag startet mit einem sehr üppigen Frühstücksbuffet um 9:00 Uhr. Und danach kann man den Garten mit Pool und Tennisplatz genießen oder Ausflüge unternehmen. Die Tipps von Carla lassen da keine Wünsche offen - ein Mietauto sollte man dann aber haben. Damit kann man dann auch zum nahe gelegenen Sandstrand fahren. Im Mai war der Strand fast leer. Zum Baden war das Wasser zu kalt aber dafür konnte man einsame Standspaziergänge bei Temperaturen um 30°C machen. Der oft vorhandene Wind lässt es aber kühler erscheinen. Das ist sehr tückisch denn man könnte meinen keinen Sonnenschutz zu benötigen. Wer keinen Sonnenbrand will sollte sich deshalb entsprechen schützen. Diesen Ort merke ich mir. Hier will ich wieder mal herkommen.

Para quem necessita de um lugar calmo para férias, é do melhor!Isolado do extrior, com algo histórico moto interessante! Quartos w/c privados, restante e piscina . Recomendo!

Incredible place! All is nice, the garden, the main house, the small cottages around the pool, the relaxing environment ideal to recharge the batteries. The breakfast is amazing. But the best are the hosts, they really know how to receive well. This is a place we feel at home.

Quinta do Monteverde is superb. We were in a suite which was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing and the swimming pool is excellent set in the lovely gardens. In the main house there is a very comfortable lounge and honesty bar, and the staff we met were all very helpful. The hotel is situated just over a mile from a long sandy beach where there are several good fish restaurants, and the nearby town of Viano do Castelo has an interesting old quarter. We loved this hotel and intend to return next year.

Wir verbrachten wunderschöne 5 Tage in diesem ehemaligen Weingut. Mit freundlichem Empfang und sehr gutem Service ist dies der richtige Ort zum Relaxen. Dieses Weingut wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail in ein luxuriöses Feriendomizil verwandelt.

Inserido numa quinta de "lavrador rico", acolhedor. Situado numa aldeia que lhe oferece paisagem fluvial (Rio Neiva e foz), marítima, campesina, montanha, boa gastronomia, peixe fresco na lota e na mesa.

Lugar muy acogedor, entorno ideal para escapada relax y descanso. Habitaciones espaciosas y numerosos salones. Personal muy atento y agradable. Desayuno muy completo con múltiples opciones para intolerantes, alergias y vegetarianos. Muy recomendable!!!!

Un lugar muy recomendable. Es acogedor, tranquilo y con buenas instalaciones ( salón de juegos con mesa de billar, piscina, gimnasio..) todo está cuidado hasta el mínimo detalle. Desayuno bueno. La dueña es encantadora y está atenta a lo que necesites. Volveremos.

Nous venons de passer 3 nuits dans cet superbe établissement. Nous avons été ravi par le charme de la maison, l'accueil et les excellents conseils de Carla sans oublier les somptueux petits déjeuners. Un sans faute.

Everything was exquisite: the many gardens, alcoves to sit in, sumptuous breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable hostess, lovely swimming pool. We added a night because we didn’t want to leave.

What a delightful place. We had one of the three cottages which has a lovely terrace overlooking the swimming pool and views of the sea. Clara the front of desk was very helpful and gave us lots of tips for the local restaurants and Viana as well. Complimentary water and port in the cottage along with a mini kitchen(sink,microwave,dishes etc, but no hobs or oven.) The bed was so comfortable ( a rarity in Portugal) Breakfast was also really good with lots of cold meats,yoghurt ,bread ,cheese,fruit etc. All in all a lovely place to spend a few days with a mini supermarket at the top of the road. Only one comment if you dont like fish then the local restaurants are limited (but cheap). Probably best driving the 15 minutes into Viana for more choice.

Muy buen servicio, intentando siempre buscar la comodidad y la mejor atención para el cliente. Muy buena experiencia. El hotel, teniendo en cuenta que es un cuatro estrellas tiene muy buena calidad.

A very nice place for holidays. There is a pool and a tennis court. Our flat was amazing. The view fantastic and the landlady helpful.

Quinta do Monteverde is a gem! In a beautiful location just 5 minutes' drive from the sea the walled estate is simply gorgeous. Our room (the Patio) was not large, but full of beautiful furniture and very comfortable. The bathroom has modern fittings and is a good size. The breakfast buffet is served in the old winery building - again exquisitely furnished - and it has a wonderful selection of cheeses, meat, fruit etc plus fresh breads and cakes... Not to mention the fresh orange juice! Dona Fatima runs a superb establishment, ably assisted by Raquel and all the staff. Every one of them is willing to go the extra mile for the guests! We loved the swimming pool, but did not try the fitness room or the tennis courts. There is a well stocked "honesty" bar. You just have to write on your room's note pad what you took. Nice! If we ever come back to this area there is only one place we will stay!

Wir (älteres Ehepaar) verbrachten zum Abschluss unseres Nord-Portugal-Urlaubs 3 wunderbare Tage/Nächte in der Quinta de Monteverde. Das Einfahrtstor öffnete sich und wir befanden uns in einer Oase: wunderschön angelegter Garten mit verschiedenen Plätzen zum Relaxen, gepflegtes altes Herrenhaus und diverse Nebengebäude, Swimming Pool usw.. Morgens gab es ein vorzügliches Frühstück in der alten Weinkelter.

Ein Kurzurlaub wie er besser nicht haette sein koennen. Fuers Navi braucht man als Ort Castelo do Neiva, sonst findet mans nicht! Ansonsten einfach nur schoen.

Eine sehr schöne Anlage mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Wir waren nur 2 Nächte da und machten Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück reichhaltig.

A Quinta do Monteverde é um paraíso onde o antigo solar seiscentista se destaca pela bela recuperação constante, decorado com muito requinte e a suite muito bem concebida e os quartos "deluxe" no piso superior, além da vista virada para o mar, dão-nos o isolamento necessário para recuperar do stress citadino dos dias de hoje. Os apartamentos, modernos, de muito bom gosto, dispersos na grandeza de uma quinta verdejante, bem cuidada e com infraestruturas (piscina, campo de ténis, ginásio, etc) fazem dela uma das minhas favoritas. Os proprietários de uma simpatia e solicitude fora do habitual e funcionários profissionalíssimos. O meu bem haja pelos belos dias que me proporcionaram. Lamento, no entanto, que a localização "no Google" a situe na Amorosa em vez de Castelo do Neiva e me tenha "perdido" mas faz parte da aventura.

Wunderschönes und gepflegtes Landhaus mit stilvoller und ruhiger Atmosphäre in der Nähe von Viana do Castelo. Jedes Detail im Hause ist liebevoll geplant. Sowohl die Besitzerin als auch ihr entzückender schwarzer Labrador begrüßten uns herzlichst und wir fühlten uns wie im Paradies. Am Abend kann man im Aufenthaltsraum Fernsehen und auch Billard spielen. Der Pool ist schön und gepflegt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war erstklassig. Jeden Tag wurde der Tisch neu gedeckt und auch frisch gebackene Kuchen und vieles mehr angeboten. Ein Traum am Lande. Der Abschied fiel uns schwer. Jederzeit wieder!

This lovely hotel is situated in a quiet village, Castelo do Neiva, about 11km from Viana do Castelo. The village is unexceptional but the hotel is a delightfully converted winery and former estate with comfortable rooms, pool, gym, social area with games, TV, and an honesty drinks bar, tennis court, a very pleasant area to sit out under vines, surrounded by open green and paved spaces. Our room was pleasantly decorated in faux antique style if a little chintzy. There are pleasant places to relax outside in fine weather. Qunita is peaceful creating a very romantic setting. The breakfast is fantastic – a wide choice of cooked food, cheeses, breads, pastries, cereals, fruit, and a freshly baked cake every day. Although the advert says ‘meals available on request’, one dinner a week is offered, which at €30 ph without wine compares reasonably well with local restaurants. The food was good with excellent deserts though a main course of salmon was a little ‘safe’ and it would have been good to have had locally caught fish. The host, Fatima, is welcoming and friendly and kindly lent us 2 bikes when she realised we didn’t have our own transport. These enabled us to get to the (really) unspoilt beach along tractor tracks through nearby fields (much more pleasant than the half an hour walk along houses and holiday homes). Without a car though you are dependent on the buses into Viana for connections further afield. In all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay here.
