La décoration est géniale, car cette librairie se trouve dans une ancienne imprimerie. Un bar permet de boire un café, entouré par les livres, et l’étage propose un mur entièrement rempli de livres dans différentes langues. C’est assez impressionnant, et très reposant de voir tous ces livres.
Le hic vient par contre sur « l’exposition » au premier étage. Nous nous sommes approchés de l’ancienne machine à imprimer, et là un homme nous a abordé et demandé de le suivre. Il a commencé à nous exposer de nombreuses créations de lui, toutes très folkloriques, à base de récup’ et d’imagination (engrenages, automates, musiques, lumières etc.). Tout tourne autour du temps, et de la culture portugaise, et vaut le détour car c’est assez original. Attention toutefois car à la fin, Pietro (c’est son nom) demandait une petite participation financière pour aider à entretenir son exposition. Rien de plus normal après tout, au vu de son travail, mais nous avions de l’argent à mettre ailleurs, et surtout n’avions rien sur nous, uniquement des billets. Nous l’avons donc gentiment remercié, et commencions à partir, quand Pietro a commencé à dire qu’il était peu surprenant qu’en tant que français nous n’ayons rien donné. J’ai gentiment expliqué que nous n’avions rien pour lui, et là il s’est mis à doucement mais fermement dire que nous étions des « radins », comme de nombreux français. J’ai eu beau expliquer qu’il ne nous connaissait pas, que notre réputation ne faisait que nous précéder, et que surtout nous n’avions jamais demandé une visite guidée, il continuait à dire que tout le monde donnait pour son exposition, sauf les français, et que c’était une situation gênante, que nous devrions « être gêné de notre attitude à toujours compter au centime près ». Voulant détendre l’atmosphère car en plus curieux, je lui ai naïvement demandé ce qui l’avait amené à construire tout ça, et quelle était sa profession ; il répondit brièvement pour ensuite revenir à l’argent, et me dire que si nous n’avions pas de pièce, nous avions alors au moins un billet à lui donner. Oui bien sûr, j’allais évidemment lui donner mon billet de 20€ pour une visite guidée non-désirée de 10 minutes, faites dans un anglais très peu compréhensible…
J’ai trouvé tout cela très gênant de la part d’un homme au premier abord très sage et amical, qui s’est permis d’avoir un ton paternaliste, me faire la morale, insulter mon pays, et être à ce point en quête d’argent. Cela biaise totalement son image et le message de son travail.
Conclusion ? Ne lui dites surtout pas que vous êtes français…

Meravigliosa libreria all’interno della LX factory. Non a caso tra le più belle del mondo. Fantastico lo spazio dedicato alle invenzioni nella parte alta del libreria. Meravigliose le installazioni appese al soffitto, come il motociclo e la bicicletta con le ali.

Très belle librairie à voir lorsqu'on est de passage à Lisbonne, qui se trouve au cœur d'un lieu très agréable et atypique. Splendide. Le choix de livres n'a rien d'exceptionnel mais on y va surtout pour la beauté de l'endroit !

Endroit branché sans aucun intérêt pour des lecteurs exigeants. Prix prohibitifs et librairie fourre-tout, que de l'occasion. La quantité ne fait pas la qualité. Les livres ne servent qu'à tapisser les murs pour se donner un genre. Largement en dessous de mes attentes. Il s'agit plus d'un café convivial.

Pretty interesting bookstore! I usually try to go to a bookstore in each city I go to. I initially went because of the pictures I've seen of the main area with the biker sculpture hanging from the ceiling. It is a pretty decent size bookstore with a dedicated English section (not super huge but decent). There are more books upstairs but there is also a little museum exhibition! Lots of interesting trinkets and craft related to books, printing, etc. It is in a quite hipster area so walking around the area and browsing through the books is recommend if you're into that.

A charming place to spend a few hours in. This beautiful store has a small selection of English books as well as a wide range of Portuguese and children's books. As part of the bookstore, you'll also find a cafe on the ground floor and some vintage / puppet (I think?) on the next two floors. One of the owners of a vintage store on the second floor plays the accordion. Tables are scattered around so you can sit and enjoy the books.

This place is a must for any book lover. It has a bit of everything (including a section dedicated to books written and translated into English). It’s quite quirky inside. I spent a good hour just looking around and exploring the many books on offer.

Great bookstore with a fine collection of books in English too. Go up the stairs, have a coffee and look down on the bike and sit beside the steel rollers of the old Espresso printworks. Hope the engineer is there to show you all his extraordinary moving ‘sculptures’ and take his tour.

This was one of the most interesting bookstores that I've been to. Aside from a hanging bicycle, there is a full size press sitting in the middle of the space. It houses a small eclectic gallery as well as a small cafe beside the press. On the ground floor, there is also a restaurant sitting underneath the press. Overall, great place to just soak in the atmosphere.

我們遇到了一個老先生，熱情地解釋他用廢棄零件做的各種裝置藝術，比方說入口的腳踏車奔向夢想，以及用印刷廠零件改製的種種玩意兒，「沒有用！但有趣。」老先生口音很重的英文如是說！還看了一個古巴攝影展。空間整合得很棒，大推薦！

Uma das melhores livrarias a nível nacional.
Possui uma grande variedade de livros, desde os romances até ao teatro, fotografia entre outros. Vários livros em línguas estrangeiras, como inglês, francês, entre outros.
A arquitetura do local é muito moderna, sendo um dos pontos mais turísticos da área.
Existe um bar com esplanada dentro da livraria, onde os visitantes costumam de trabalhar ou estudar, e, no piso de cima, um outro estabelecimento café onde se vendem igualmente bolos.
Na plataforma acima, é possivel visitar-se uma exposição de brinquedos incrivel, realizado por um senhor simpático que muitas vezes faz visitas guiadas ao local.
De visitar sempre que possível.

A Ler Devagar é uma excelente livraria. O espaço é enorme, com um pé direito aproveitado em mezanine, replecto de estantes. A diversidade é imensa, mas longe da ideia de Tops, há todos os livros que realmente interessam, organizados de um modo intuitivo, é fácil de encontrar o que procuramos. Se precisarmos de apoio, as pessoas que lá trabalham são muito prestáveis e apressam-se a ajudar, mas nunca são intrusivas. Ali, a relação é com os livros.
Podemos levar alguns para consultar numa das mesas da cafetaria que existe dentro da Ler Devagar.

Ler Devagar es una librería muy bonita, la decoración esta muy bien y también hay una exposición de arte con material reciclado a la parte de arriba, las secciones están por el nombre de ciencias, ubicada en una calle con diferentes decoraciones, bares, y tiendas alternativas, vale la pena la visita!

서점이라하기엔 굉장히 리스본 갬성이 묻어나는 곳이라 생각합니다. 1층에 작은 카페가 있는데 저녁엔 와인바로 운영하는것 같아 보였습니다. 입구에 들어서면 멋있는 장식이 바로 보이는데 포르투의 렐루서점보다 더 느낌있고 분위기있다고 생각합니다. 굳이 책을 사지 않아도 그냥 차분히 구경만해도 좋은 곳이라 생각합니다 :)

A very cool bookstore in the middle of LxFactory. They have a lot of books on different topics. There is a small coffee shop in there as well. My favorite part was on the second floor where they have displays of hand made art by an old man out of ordinary objects. It's a classic. It's inspiring to watch him passionately talking about the stories behind his creations. On the top floors they have periodic displays of art work from pictures and drawings. Really enjoyed visiting this bookstore.

Livraria linda, em mezanine, muito grande e cheia de livros bons. Não é nada do tipo "supermercado de livros", não segue "tendências de moda" mas tem as boas novidades. Os livros que ali podemos encontrar são os que uma boa livraria - um espaço de cultura! - deve ter, e a escolha é imensa, pois não faltam obras na História da Literatura. Também têm livros técnicos. Há uma cafetaria onde nos podemos sentar e consultar os livros que quisermos, enquanto lanchamos ou tomamos um café. Ah, é mesmo a não perder, literalmente.

A lovely store full of Portuguese books, posers and instagrammers.. Its a lovely building, and very interesting to see the original printing press, but it is completely over run by people queuing up to have their photo taken by the huge wall of books. If you can’t beat them, join them.. we didn’t go to the cafe but the drinks menu seemed reasonable.

The best part of this bookstore is the coffee and the instagrammable photos. Let's be honest, you're not gonna read books on a trip. And you're especially not gonna buy or read books in Portuguese.
Its located in an uber hip strip of shops and restaurants. All of them are delicious and the wine and beer and sangria are charged what locals are accustomed to paying....not the outrageous sums you'll find in the tourist traps.
So go eat, drink and then go to the bookstore for coffee and pictures of you in an interesting book store.

Very neat bookstore in the reclaimed area of excel. I like that they had the original printing presses still on display and you can walk around to them. No hassle or pressure to buy anything just walk around and enjoy the history. They had a massive selection of books which I did look at briefly. A very wonderful bookstore that includes a bar and a gallery. The 5 m high wall of books is amazing. Also on display some of the works of Pietro. A retired engineer that produces moving toys out of recycled parts of machines. Some of the books you can't find elsewhere you may find here. It is not a bookstore for big novelty books

오래된 책을 판다거나 하지는 않지만, 서점 위층에 있는 조그만 카페에서 맥주 한 잔 시켜놓고 테이블에 앉아, 적당히 시끌벅적한 사람들의 소음과 창문으로 들어오는 햇살을 느끼며 잠시 쉬어가기는 나쁘지 않습니다.

Fantastica libreria ricavata in una vecchia fabbrica, una stamperia con le macchine da stampa a fare da sfondo ad una parete enorme di libri. Un bar per fermarsi a leggere bevendo una birra in compagnia . Una bellezza. In negozio è all'interno di lxfactory, un incubatore di giovani artisti e un recupero meraviglioso di vecchi magazzini. Nel quartiere Alcantara sotto il ponte 25 di Avril.

Curieux endroit que cette librairie en hommage à Ler Devagar, très riche, à la fois café, bar, cdthèque et bien évidemment librairie. Les ouvrages et références, dans toutes les langues, sont variées.
On y trouve aussi, complètement réinvestie, la première rotative du Portugal, et qui a imprimé un journal national.
Enfin, petit clin d'œil au polyglotte inventeur Pietro Proserpio et à ses créatures mécaniques, qui vous les présentera avec humour et attachement !

Sin duda el mejor lugar de todo Lx Factory (y no es tarea fácil). Detalles por todos lados. La zona de arriba tiene inventos de una persona que hace una visita guiada por ellos. También hay una antigua imprenta. Imprescindible visita.

Una de las librerías más diferentes que te puedes encontrar. Situada en una zona de locales y tiendas que han aprovechado una antigua fábrica, puedes encontrar esta librería, que aunque no parece que tenga ningún orden ni vayan a tener cualquier tipo de libro, es muy peculiar. En lo alto se encuentra una antigua imprenta y a Pietro, un señor mayor que se ha dedicado a hacer máquinas e interruptores que hacen mover figuras, etc.

Very nice store with a variety of English books. Each tourist who takes photos inside should buy a book there ;-) you have to give something back otherwise the store can't pay the rent anymore. I bought a book about Wild Portugal for my next trip.

Bellissima libreria, dove oltre ad acquistare libri in lingua portoghese e non, si possono fare foto, rilassarsi al piccolo bar o scoprire la storia dei macchinari in esposizione. È fuori dai circuiti cittadini, ma per chi ama i libri, ne vale la pena.

Large and well-designed bookstore in a nice market. You can find many, many interesting books on various issues from literature to music and etc. Although most of them are in Portuguese, as in many bookstores in Lisbon, but this place has a very good collection of English books as well.

Una de las librerías más sugerentes del mundo. El espacio es espectacular. Con las máquinas de la rotativa de un antiguo periódico en medio. El encuentro de los libros con ese mamotreto industrial no puede ser más poético. Huele a grasa y tinta. Los estantes suben por las paredes metros y metros, mucho más de lo que el buen sentido del mantenimiento pudiera desear. Da un poco de lástima ver volúmenes hinchados de humedad en las baldas más altas, sin que nadie los haya tocado en siglos. Los precios están bien. Imprescindible comprar algo y, por supuesto, hacerse fotos. Tened cuidado con las escaleras metálicas si os distraéis ojeando títulos sin mirar dónde ponéis el pie, como me pasó a mí, que me llevé un susto tonto.

A very quirky store with lots of art books and even a little coffee shop. Located in the middle of a thriving local market scene where we purchased some works from a talented artist. Stopped there on the way out of Lisbon..Well worth a visit.

Chouette endroit, un peu librairie, un peu bibliothèque, un peu café. Ancienne imprimerie où le premier numéro d'un journal national (l'expresso ?) a été imprimé. A l'étage, autour de la rotative, un vieux monsieur vous montre ses montages mécaniques autour d'histoires poétiques, le tout en différentes langues.

Superbe lieux où les livres ne manques pas!!!En arrivant dans cette boutiques vous êtes frappé par l'énorme bibliothèque qui se situe en face de vous, des ouvrages principalement en langues portugaise. Si la littérature vous à épuisé vous avez la chance de trouver un bar au rez de chaussée.

Una capatina in questa libreria è d'obbligo, anche se vende solo libri in portoghese. Molto suggestiva e "fotografabile" si fa apprezzare anche per un piano rialzato nel quale ci sono numerose macchine strane e un anziano signore (italiano!) che ne spiega il divertente funzionamento.

Excellent place to have a glass of wine and read a book. It is a literary corner in the heart of Lisbon. In the 2nd floor you find a place called "O Bolo da Marta" which has awesome meringue cakes slices.

What a beautiful bookshop! A massive rotary press proudly stands in the middle of the place. You will find here a huge selection of books that cover a wide range of topics. Unfortunately books in Portugal are expensive but you might find some good deals because they sell some second hand books and some others that come from local editors and cost 5 euros. There is a little café in the bookshop what is nice and they have some good cakes. So it is nice to have a coffee or some cup of tea and to enjoy the place.

It's a factory which has been converted into a huge bookstore! And there is a no fee to enter this place plus a little coffee shop inside. So, you can read a book while you sip your coffee. Limited English collection though. Most titles are in Portuguese. A must visit if you are passing by the Lx Factory area.

Really great environment, very relaxed and kind of alternative place to hang out, to study, to read or just to look for books (they are all over!) Amazing café with delicious cakes (service a bit slow). Very interesting for a walk around inside the shop through the old machines. Live music occasionally :)

Amazing place. Even if you aren't to buy anything, it's just amazing to go and find cool books, read some things and listen to some music while being surrounded by a great set. Sometimes they let the piano opened, so if you know how to play you're welcome to :)

Very interesting spot in the LxFactory complex. A wild mix between library, bookshop, printing house and museum. A lot of things to explored in every corner and a dream for fans of Portuguese literature. Since it’s kind of touristy it’s always quite full and busy. Also a good place to find a present.

Ambiente leve e relaxado para ler, estudar ou trabalhar. A música é agradável - por sorte calhou-me das minhas ondas favoritas: vibes da Costa oeste-africana. A decoração alternativa exala uma mística engraçada. Os aspetos menos positivos: é permitido fumar no interior; quando há calor lá fora, o piso superior fica um "forninho". I'll be back.
