We stumbled upon this little local just off the main street. The prices and photos seemed good for us as we were searching for something not too expensive. The owner and chef was nice and served us with amazing anchovies with bread to start with. We both ordered a main course, 2 beers, fanta, a dessert, bread and anchovies for 22eur. It was lovely!!! Highly recommend :)

We were very disappointed. Firstly, we were served anchovies, bread, pate without asking if we wanted them, which is sometimes the norm in Portugal, but did not expect a charge of 6.50 euros. To be fair the anchovies were delicious. Water was also put on the table which we left and were not charged for. Clams were nice not (the best in the world) as advertised. Fried cod okay but swimming in olive oil. House wine fine. Overall disappointing after all the rave reviews. We will not be back. Host was very friendly and nice but unfortunately does not make up for the food or the charges that were not made clear. A young couple on a budget could have found themselves in an awkward position thinking that the starters were free gratis.

Sorprendido gratamente. Lugar muy acogedor con unos dueños la mar de cordiales y muy atentos. Pedimos unas almejas, bacalao al horno y arroz con pulpo... A cuál más bueno, todo buenísimo, hasta los postres. Sin duda recomendable para el que quiera comer buena comida local.

Accueil très chaleureux du propriétaire. En amuse bouche des filets d'anchois maison, un délice. Nous sommes passés devant par hasard qui a bien fait les choses car à s'y arrêter sans regret. Très bonne cuisine faite par le patron que l'on peut voir car la cuisine est ouverte. Adresse à retenir. Et le plus plus les chiens sont acceptés en salle. Le propriétaire fait partir de l'association nationale portugaise HISA (Hygiène et sécurité alimentaire). Fait de la vente à emporter. Très bon plan n'hésitez pas, VENEZ. Et encore un plus plus l'eau de vie offerte

Bislang immer verschmäht, doch nun für mich entdeckt. In einer kleinen Nebenstraße unweit der Fußgängerzone in Olhão befindet sich dieses landestypische Lokal. Der Inhaber sehr nett und aufmerksam. Oft von Einheimischen besucht. Die Karte ist übersichtlich und immer gleich (deswegen 4 Sterne), jedoch sind die Gerichte sehr preiswert und geschmacklich top. Besonderes Highlight sind die Anchovies als Appetizer...hmmmm. Zum Abschluss ein Feigenlikör auf's Haus...werde definitiv wiederkommen. Solche Läden gehören unterstützt.

Very good address in town, you have to try Antonio's place if you are passing by. It is the place to have an Homemade and typical Portuguese meal.

Friendly and welcoming. Very reasonable prices Superb starter of anchovies and bread ... Delicious. Main meal .... bifanohs Peru absolutely the best IV tasted. Melt in the mouth pork and tasty cream sauce. The fechuada full of tasty melt in the mouth pork a real treat. Carafe of Wine and a glass of grappa each to end the meal. Will definitely recommend and return.

The best in restaurant are the owners - they were very nice to us and gave us huge portion and many complementary portuguese rarities. Food was very tasty and cheep. They were always happy when we visited restaurant. Many thanks for that.

We were so lucky to come across this lovely wee place. 99 per cent of restaurants are shut. Had a lovely meal, the waiter guy ( I think the owner) made us feel very welcome, also gave us a complimentary sherry before leaving. We are flying home tonight so unfortunately won't manage another visit.

Simply amazing. We are in many of the seafront restaurants, some good, some less good, but, with six weeks remaining of this trip and many friends arriving in that time, these guys are going to get bored of seeing our faces .. my friend liked the salt cod so much he will be having it tonight for his farewell meal . And the sauce with the prawns... I have eaten prawns all over the world, but these prawns, are the best prawns....!!!

Wonderful place. Great service to everyone who dined while I was there. Ordered the Turkey and mushroom stew and it was seriously the best food I’ve had in years. Anchovy’s and bread was a welcome surprise and the coffee was amazing. Much pride went into everything served. I’d give it 11 stars

Arrêt par hasard nous cherchions un petit resto loin du boulevard touristique. Ce fût un vrai régal. Tout est frais fait par le chef des entrées aux desserts. Accueil très chaleureux. Et vraiment pas cher. Plats typiques entre 6 et 8€. On en redemande !

Oft verstehe ich nicht was hier abgeht: Ich spreche ein wenig portugiesisch, vielleicht ist das nicht gewünscht. Aber warum mir erzählt wird man könne nur mindestens einen halben oder einen ganzen Liter Wein bekommen, kein Viertel, worauf ich dann gar keinen Wein bestellt habe, um dann den nächsten Gästen als wir schon fast fertig waren durchaus ein einzelnes Glas zu verkaufen, verstehe ich einfach nicht, insbesondere weil das einzelne Glas bzw. ein Viertelliter ja durchaus im Verhältnis teurer verkauft werden könnte! Das Essen zum Lunch (keine Preisangabe auf der Karte, aber am Ende preiswert), war ok aber leider nicht mehr, die Anchovis zum Couvert sehr lecker. Wir kennen die portugiesische Küche gut. Die angebotenen Fischfilets hingegen sind Fish&Chips-artig, also paniert. Hinterher gab es tatsächlich einen Ginja, aber natürlich nur einen für zwei, die Dame die dann keinen Wein bestellt hat trinkt ja offenbar keinen Alkohol... Kunde droht mit Auftrag, aber hier leider erster und letzter Versuch!

Endroit un peu reculé dans la ville, intime, peu de tables, très typique. Filets d'anchois maison à la vinaigrette excellents, tous les plats typiques portugais entre 6 et 8 €, desserts maison, propriétaire et sa femme très gentils et efficaces, cuisine ouverte, et pour finir un petit alcool offert, nourriture excellente, on reviendra.

Dit is waarschijnlijk een van de beste locals die je hier zal vinden. Het eten is geweldig! Wij kwamen binnen en kregen direct plaats. Wij mochten een beetje later al direct ons drinken bestellen dat direct bij ons werden gebracht met een bordje ansjovisjes, een mandje brood en boter, smeerkaas en paté van sardientjes. Nadat wij op ons gemak de broodjes en ansjovisjes, hebben wij ons hoofdgerecht besteld wat 5 minuutjes later warm aankwam. Ik had een hamburger met frietjes besteld. De frietjes waren gekruid met mediterraanse kruiden en (een beetje teveel) zout. De hamburger was goed gebakken en lekker belegd met kaas, tomaat en sla. Iemand anders in onze groep had de scampi's die een beetje moeilijk te pellen waren door de saus. Voor de rest was alles in orde. Na het hoofdgerecht hadden wij een dessert besteld. De dessertjes werden op een bordje gepresenteerd om te kiezen. Dit was heel gemakkelijk als je geen Portugees sprak omdat je dit gewoon kon aanwijzen. Bij het dessert werd een gratis digestif aangeboden, bij ons was dit amandellikeur. Deze dessertjes waren de echte afsluiter van de "show". Dit was het dan, dit verdient 4,7 sterren. Great food and atmosphere, a must stop in the whole of the algarve, everything on the menu is fantastic, that's why there is just a few items to choose from. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you stop here. If I can I will go again. Perfect for a food stop before flight to or from Faro.

Octopus stew is delicious. Took a while to find this small restaurant but worth it. Antonia greeted us, put out a dish of anchovies and took our order. He then disappeared into the kitchen to cook. I had hake fillets which was good but the octopus stew outshone. Desserts were prepared and delicious. In the meantime Antonio washed dishes and served others. Really hard working. Spoke very little English and we only know a few words in Portuguese which is a shame. The meal including a bottle of wine was 39 euros which was great value. We enjoyed the meal so much that we returned the following day. We weren't so hungry second time around so chose not to have mains. However the bill was only 5 euros less than the previous day so not sure if the 3 course is a set menu.

Because we drove, from Bordeira to have diner at Dominó. Your website says: OPEN, Google maps says OPEN. Perhaps it is wise to communicate your restaurant being closed so people checking TripAdvisor, Google Maps or your Website are not disappointed. That is why I did not put 5 stars as well. I just put this up so people know at the moment you are closed for construction. So yes, I do this by putting down and avarage rating. When is Dominó open again? We could plan our next trip and give you a rating based on the food and service. 1-10-2019 /// At the moment it's under construction guys! We would really have loved to eat here. Comida 100% portuguesa, sitio muy tradicional, precios 0 turísticos. Los dos dueños del restaurante son verdaderamente amables y hacen lo posible para entenderse con quienes no hablamos portugués. Almejas riquísimas, bacalao fabuloso y postre de mango muy recomendable. ¡Ojalá podamos volver pronto!

Delicious Portuguese food served at very reasonable prices. Dishes we chose from the menu of the day included clams, Turkey slices with mushroom sauce, oven cooked cod and octopus all served with rice, chips or salad. My companions all agreed these plates were excellent. Everything was prepared to order and we had a plate of anchovies and a litre of house wine whilst we waited. Service was prompt and very friendly. Will definitely return.
