This is the perfect place for your solo, friends, family or couple surf trip stay to Peniche!! The atmsophere is familiar, everybody is layed back. It is a bit like a spanish hostel for surfers. Claire & Duncan really make sure you'll feel right at home. Most importantly, they will make you get to the best beach of the day every day (no obligations) and you can camp with all the other people in the house, get a board and ride the most awesome spots the area has to offer. Duncan and his son will help you improve your surf and find the best growth paths! Evenings can be chill on the couch watching flixs or hanging in the terasse after a delicious bbq. Note that they have a second house that is more set back, so you'll have the choice between privacy and community :)

New and always clean rooms, super comfortable place to stay, especially long term. I booked 3 nights and stayed for 17 days till the end of my holidays. Best spots with restaurants nearby, great choice of surfboards and wetsuits to rent, free breakfast, quiet place and good vibes, good wi-fi for remote work, nice guests. How wate is consistent. A TV and the lounge room. In 5 min walk there is a supermarket and fully equipped kitchen is at the Lodge to cook. Car rental service is nearby. Take your skateboard, there is a free outdoor skateboarding rump in 5 min walk. Strong and intensive surf-lessons, new vans, camp and ball games at the beach. It's a family business with warm welcoming, individual approach and little nice details that you never get in a commercial surf camp or a big resort. Lots of returning guests from all around the world. Some of them started to surf from zero and they do tricks on their shortboards now. Bicycles to rent. I will come back

PSL is my second home :) It was my 5th time visit and stayed for a month!! Claire and Duncan always make sure that you have great time and take good care of everything! Duncan and Dane always gives you the best surf tips and lessons and Claire manages everything around surf !! Super good surf spots and super clean accommodations!!Good team works :D Amazing surf family vibes! I am already planning my 6th visit to PSL!

A wonderful place to stay to learn how to surf. Every day the hosts took us to the best waves at 10 am. At the site we set up a nice beach camp where one can enjoy a whole day at the beach. Logistics always worked perfectly and the hosts even drove us to the bus station seperately. The lodge itself is a nice comfy space with kitchens on both floors and a room to lounge in. All the guests interact with each other and so far everyone has been friendly and open. Will be coming back. I consider this place to be good value for money.

Second time I've been here. Every day Claire, Duncan and Dane packed up the boards, wetsuits etc. with us and then drove us to a great surfing spot where we set up a camp together. We had lots of fun - they are just such lovely people! The service and surfing lessons are great and very personal! It's also a very social and nice atmosphere in the Lodge. I can definitely recommend staying here and I'll come back again next year! ;)

Cozy little hostel, run by Claire and Duncan, which care for everything you need! Ideal for solo travellers or couples. Had a few great days here, mainly surfing (they have a variety of rental boards and suits and Duncan and Dan give great lessons!) and chilling on the beach. If you are looking for a place to learn/go surfing which is not overrun and provides good value for money, go with Claire and Duncan :).

The dedication of the hosts and the resulting team spirit of all guests made my stay unforgettable. Peniche Surf Lodge is more like a host family teaching you surfing than a hostel.

Felt very comfortable while I was staying there. Claire cares a lot for the guests. When I visit Peniche again, Def I will be staying here. Until then take care, Claire & Duncan & Dane

Clair and Duncan are great, they even picked us up from the bus stop which is walking distance away. The room was clean, spacious, nice, and affordable. Definitely recommend staying here. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to spend in Peniche. Thanks again,

Had an amazing time!!! We were supposed to stay 3 night and ended up staying 11... From the first day we felt like we were at home, Claire & Duncan were very welcoming, friendly and caring . We actually didn't fell like guests but more like family members. Duncan is a great teacher who goes in the water with his students (very rare when you have surf lessons). Claire is very friendly and loves to have a good chat. We went to the beach every single day and set up a camp before surfing the whole morning. Also some night the whole lodge would go out for dinner wich is very nice. Duncan took all of the guest from the lodge to Nazare so we could see the waves also stopped of to the village of Obidos for the day. ( As we were here in low season) We would a 100% recommend the lodge. We had the best holidays ever thanks to you guys so thank you very much! And see you next year

I had the best time here! It's such a cosy and fun place, it feels like you're one big family here. Claire and Duncan take you to the beach, help you surf and just make sure that you have the best time ever! I will definetly go back here when i've got the chance!

Absolutely phenomenal surf vacation with claire and Duncan. Could not have asked for nicer hosts or better surf instruction. Don’t expect anything exciting from the town itself, but claire and Duncan will make sure you have a memorable visit.

Phenomenal experience, could not have asked (or imagined) for a better place to stay. Claire and Duncan were the greatest hostel hosts/surf guides/mom and dad I've ever had the pleasure to meet and spend time with. They are more than used to people staying at their surf lodge who possess great skill, some skill, or no skill at surfing/body boarding. They accommodate you in whatever manner you desire, and are local legends in the area. I will certainly be visiting Peniche again, and I have been telling everyone that I can that they are making a mistake if they choose to not stay at the Peniche Surf Lodge. Keep keeping it real guys!

If you want to learn surf don't go there! The guy just want to rent you board and wetsuit. It doesn't care about nothing but petty money. Otherwise place is clean and lockers so little you can't use them even for a cabin luggage.

A wonderful place to stay! Its favorable, clean and in a super location. Claire,Duncan and Dane made my stay as a solotraveler realy enjoyable and took care of me to feel comfortable. I will definitely come back another time! Big thanks

Claire and Duncan are kind, friendly hosts. They also operate a small apartment as an extension of the lodge, so know that depending on availability, you might end up a few minutes up the street in an apartment (we did). But the friendly hostel feel carried over to the apartment, which was very clean and comfortable and had multiple balconies to enjoy the sea air. Would certainly stay again!

A home for surfers, a place where relax after a session on the beach but most of all a place where you can find friends and a family that can change your holiday from good to AWESOME!

Actually a very pleasant place, quite and by the beach. A little tough to find, but once you enter the town through the castle walls and go straight over the island.
