A very cool little cocktail bar that has an entirely non-descript entrance where you ring a bell and the door opens for you to descend a set of stone stairs into a dark lounge with a smiling waitress.
The ambience is very comforting, though it is very dark, and the music sets a chilled funky tone.
The cocktails are excellent and well priced. I highly recommend the Zeppelin Funk Punch!

This is the first time I have been charged for a cocktail that I changed after one sip. I was told it was my mistake. Not very generous for a place that is supposed to be one of the best. Good music but unfriendly staff.

I’m not sure what I was expecting.. but the entry process was unique and fun then the atmosphere is chill and dark.
However,
The cocktail list was WAY overpriced considering the simple drink options made to “sound special” the dress code made it even more pretentious. We ended up looking through the whole menu (which has super tiny writing with their “rules” so you basically have to read an entire novel in the dark)
Ultimately it was 14€ for a gin and tonic...

So toll sind die Cocktails nicht..... Ambiente schön könnte ein Tick heller sein... konnten die Karte nicht lesen ohne Taschenlampe am Handy...draußen stehen sie Schlange um reinzukommen... verstehe nicht warum.... ist nichts besonderes. Eine Bedienung war total unsympathisch... wollte mir ein Cocktail bringen den ich nicht bestellt habe und beharrte drauf.... und ich nein und dann kam dieser hässlicher Cocktail. Naja wir waren drinnen da es so hoch gelobt wurde.... es muss nicht sein es gibt bessere Cocktails in Lissabon

Very cool bar with unique and creative cocktails.
Location: It identifies as a speakeasy but it’s not very difficult to find. Look for the red frog on the wall and the buzzer that reads “ring for cocktails”.
Price: Pretty expensive for a drink but they are very creative and elaborate.

Ένα από τα καλύτερα μπαρ στην Λισαβόνα, ανήκει στα καλύτερα του κόσμου (92 ). Αρκετός κόσμος, δηλαδή περιμεναμε αναμονή. Πολύ καλά κοκτέιλ σε σχετικά καλές τιμές βασιζόμενες στην φήμη του συγκεκριμένου μαγαζιού. Τέλος είναι από τα λίγα μπαρ που είναι ανοιχτά μέχρι αρκετά αργα το βράδυ.

Ambiance was nice; the music was eclectic and occasionally a bit too poppy for the mood. A very full list of interesting cocktails but they'll make you up a classic if you request it.
Note- Smoking is allowed inside; though they do have different 'sections', there's no actual physical barrier so it got pretty smoky.

LOVE this bar. It's so cool. They nail their aesthetic and the staff all wears the most stunning red, which pairs well with the dark speakeasy's more sensual and underground atmosphere. Lots of presentation for the drinks. Delightful for discovering new things. Expect to pay at least 11€ per drink. Honestly though it's worth it if only for a nice date.

Found this place by chance, googling bars near me!! Only negative was the two idiots sat next to us who were using the torch function on their phones to read the menu, everyone else managed! It clearly states in the bar's rules not to do such a thing, staff were clearly too intimidated to say anything. Drinks were world class!!

Péssima experiência. Pouca oferta de bebidas sem álcool, apenas dizem as bebidas caras que o bar tem para consumo. Preços elevados. Não avisam do consumo mínimo à entrada. Casas de banho pouco cuidadas. Iluminação fraca ao ponto de não se conseguir ler a lista, não seria um pouco mais de luz que retiraria o ambiente ao bar.

Very intereting coctail bar which is little hard to find. Aslo getting there is an experience you need to ring a bell and wait until waiter opens for you and invites in, if there is a ppace. Nice atmosphere inside and intimate(though little bit dark). The coctails done perfectly with nice twists.

Great find!! True speakeasy feel with the ring for entry to head downstairs to a comfortable, well dressed bar with nice seating area. Lights as dim which does make the menu a little difficult to read, but adds to the atmosphere and would provide a romantic environment if with someone special.
Drinks menu was very good, and the recommendations excellent. The staff asked some pertinent questions then supplied a suitable recommendation which was very good. The connoisseurs behind the bar are a master at the craft with complex flavour combinations.

Really creative and unique cocktails make this bar a must see in Lisbon.
I could not choose from the menu but the staff was friendly and helpful
so at the end I had delicious cocktails.
Although the prices are a bit higher, it's worth it to stop.

Le cadre est très agréable, chaleureux à souhait, un peu à l'image des personnes derrière le comptoir!
Ils parviennent à mettre en valeur le meilleur des alcools dont ils disposent même si des fois on aurait aimé d'autres références que certains rhums "trop classique" .
Une belle soirée quoiqu'il en soit et nous y reviendront surement en amoureux.

If you're going to experiment with cocktails you should at least give the option of the classics. All their cocktails were totally wacky in the worst possible way and completely overpriced. I asked for something similar to a whiskey sour, I recieved something akin to kombucha blended with seaweed with a bit of foam on top. AVOIDAVOIDAVOID. The one star was generous

One of the most perverse menus I've ever seen. Every drink on the menu has some sort of ridiculous pretentious addition (enoki mushrooms in a Manhattan?!) and they won't make the classics. Decor is tacky and the temperature far too high. Prices are London level not Lisbon.

Só a entrada do local te deixa animado. Uma pequena porta que te leva a umas escadas que parece estar entrando em um lugar secreto. Drinks muito bons com um atendimento impecável, além da decoração e música estilo jazz que deixa o ambiente muito agradável. Possui separação de locais para fumantes e não fumantes.

It's an ok cocktail bar, but nothing special compared to bars in other capitals. The staff is knowledgeable, but the service was quite slow, even though there were not that many people there. As for the cocktails they tasted decent. We tried about four cocktails, but none of them stood out. The way they make them is however quite interesting and some of the drinks came with a bit of a surprise, and that's something i like.

We came across the Red Frog 4 years ago, we had such a great time and very much enjoyed their cocktails as well as the atmosphere. We returned last year and it was just as enjoyable as the first time if not more so! We met great people, enjoyed our cocktails and we will continue to return every time we are in Lisbon! The staff is great- they explain the cocktails in detail and try to get a sense of what you like so that they can make a good recommendation. Hope to be back soon.

Wenn man erst mal die unscheinbare Tür gefunden hat, muss man zuerst die Türglocke leuten, bis einem von einem netten Herren die Pforten geöffnet werden... das ist schon mal eine interessante Begegnung. Grossartige ausergwöhnliche, schön servierte Cocktails, nette Leute im Service. Publikum gemischt (Touristen und Einheimische).

Great, inventive cocktails that are extremely well made. Expensive, perhaps, only because cocktails always come at a price. For the quality, quite reasonable. Decor and ambience are very good too.
The only thing that stops me from saying 5 stars: they have a smoking area, but it is really not separate enough from the non-smoking area. If you are a non-smoker and do not wish to be in an enclosed space with those who are smoking, you will not be comfortable here.

Cadre agréable bien qu’un peu sombre. Musique d’ambiance réglée à un volume permettant de s’entendre parler correctement, ce qui est bien agréable. Les cocktail sont bons mais pour ma part ça n’est pas les meilleurs que j’ai bu de ma vie contrairement aux récompenses qui ont été remises à ce bar. Fumoir. En somme, ça reste une valeur sure et un lieu agréable.

Due to the reputation, was expecting the best. Ok 'clandestino' style but just light a bulb. We couldnt see the menu and our drinks. Cocktails was good but not incredible. Staff is nice but the girls speak like robots. There is better in the neibourhood.

This being a best bars in the world entry, I had high expectations going in. A mixed offering broke down as follows on a rainy night in December 2019:
Beautiful space.
Fast reception.
Creative and well executed menu.
Despite having bar seating, it was reserved for the wait staff on this particular evening, meaning customers couldn't consult with with bartenders and the waiters were not caring for customers.
Worth a visit with a small crew.

Awful service performed by two inexperienced and somehow careless waitresses. Me and my lady wanted to order several rounds of drinks and have a complete experience but we ended up leaving the bar after the first one due to lack of interest and attention from the house. As you can expect, drinks are interesting and rich in complexity. It gets negatively affected by other human factors that do not contribute for good business.

Terrible service (waitress forgot about us for an hr and they have a rule not to leave your table for orders/drinks). Incredibly pretentious. The el muro is bland and overly sweet. I will give 1 star only for the Unami Penicillin which was a creative and incredibly tasty drink.
Would never go back. Too many good places with friendly people in Lisbon...

Great idea, however in terms of a speakeasy it doesn't have anything secret about it. Yes you ring a door bell but it's the same as a normal bar. Lighting is also poor which makes reading the menu hard.
Staff are lovely and the cocktails are sublime, once you know what ones to order. I chose poorly twice.

Bar "clandestin" à la décoration limitée. Il fait très sombre, ce qui rend la lecture des cocktails très difficile.

Nous sommes partis sans finir nos verres.
POP FIZZ : la dose mortelle de sucre est allègrement dépassée. Un grand verre de sirop de framboise non dilué sous une crêpe au nutella. Une injection d'insuline est nécessaire avant de tenter la deuxième gorgée.
DE STILL VIEUX : un cocktail à base de whisky qui n'a aucun goût de whisky. On promet de la truffe, mais elle était en vacances lors de la préparation du cocktail. Quand au shitake, je suis presque soulagé de ne pas le sentir non plus. L'impression générale est celle d'un sirop pour la toux à l'orange. Amateurs de whisky, passez votre chemin.
Un aspect tout de même positif : les cacahouètes salées sont effectivement salées. Tout comme l'addition.

Very pretty presentation, have few non-alcohol cocktails in the menu. The only thing I didn't like was that people are smoking inside. But it's subjective, I do not smoke and feel really bad because of the smell.

The cocktails are out of this world, very well thought out blends and mixes. Definitely a place to visit if you are into mixology. Personally I didn't like the interior, but that's just my taste. Friendly staff

Ein sehr außergewöhnlicher Ort :). Schon bei der Ankunft spürt man, dass diese Bar etwas besonders ist. Eine handvoll Regeln tragen dazu bei, dass der Aufenthalt noch schöner wird (z. B. Keine Handy Nutzung in der Bar). Jeder cocktail wird zelebriert und sieht aus wie ein Kunstwerk. Super Service und Barkeeper, die ihr Handwerk verstehen.

The cocktails are good. Other reviewers have said the place is pretentious which I agree with and that might be a plus or minus for you. I however could not relax in what felt like a class room atmosphere.

Got the recommendation from another bar tender (who actually prepared wonderful cocktails) but were disappointed in the end. Cocktails are okay and sort of fancy but both of ours tasted overly aggressive like coconut. Nothing refined and pretty sure that you wouldn't get the original cocktails that they are twisting.
Furthermore, service was unfriendly and slightly incompetent.
The worst of all was the 'house rules' part (including the bell ringing) in the menu, which is Berlin-type snobby but not implemented at all, which makes it simply ridiculous. Much ado about nothing...

I enjoyed everything about it. The atmosphere, the mood, the friendly staff and of course the cocktails. Everything cocktail is a new experience, and i felt like going through the whole menu. If you are a cocktail enthusiast, looking for something different from the usual classics, this is your spot. I will return for sure. The hype is totally deserved.

It is a nice spot to come and enjoy a descent creation. It all depends how good ur choice is and not how good the drink is. Missed both cocktails by being over sold with the ingredients but under delivered with the Execution. Still nice ambiance with extremely swift service . Make sure your ring the bell and hope to have a seat if someone goes out otherwise your second choice is to wait outside. Room for improvement of course as they are already with the best products and a descent crew.

The Red Frog was Amazing. Walking by the building, the true speakeasy feel of just a little red frog outside on the wall. We pressed the doorbell as instructed and waited to be greeted. Once inside, we were taken down very nice steps into a little cozy room. The decor was beautiful all red, and many frogs scattered around, truly keeping the theme. The menu was extensive and had fairly good descriptions of the drinks. We ordered the Old Crew, the Snap Lap Dance and a Pop Fizz, each beautifully mixed and topped with a unique edible garnish. Additionally, they came around with a little bar snack, which they kept refilling, and was a nice pre dinner snack. The atmosphere, staff and drinks were all amazing. Biggest props to the bartender, his technique was phenomenal and each drink looked extremely well hand crafted and intricate. Would definitely recommend the red frog for everyone visiting Lisbon and will hopefully make it back myself!

We had high hopes prior to our drinks here, however we were disappointed with the overall experience. The waiting staff were nice and friendly and we managed to get a table one evening without a reservation. We ordered a total of 4 drinks and none were anything like we were expecting and didn't seem to match how the drinks were described on the menu. One out of the four drinks was nice but the others were just a bit odd. They allow smoking inside and there is no physical separation between the smoking and non smoking areas so this was a negative for us as non smokers. They provide nuts/snacks which was a nice touch.

Cool interior but it didn't give me the real speakeasy feel, It felt more like a regular classy bar with good drinks. This was unfortunately just a one-timer for me even though the drink was very good. It's also allowed to smoke inside which I think is a big negative.

Absolutely awful I was expecting excellence and got indifference from the staff ! My drink was tasty but served with s stern look and by a person who could not have cared less whether I was there of not ! The smell was very bad in the toilet and I got locked in when the door handle came away in my hand ! Toilet paper on the floor !! Nobody came to ask if our drinks were to our satisfaction ! We had one drink and departed ! Poor to say the least !

Perfect place for a date. Staff was really helpful and gave us good suggestions. Price point is not too bad, more expensive compared to the average drinks in Lisbon, but this is way above that, for this quality I would say Is actually cheap! Again, AMAZING.

Cooler than a polar bears dangly bits, hidden away you have to have sharp eyes to spot the entrance to this speakeasy bar. Once accepted in (no groups over 10 people's) you're treated to a vast choice of creative cocktails.
Bear in mind, this is no Pina Colladas and Harvey wallbanger shop (if you asked for one of year you'd possibly be thrown out) revel in the choice, be daring and enjoy.

Overpriced cocktails which were not that great. I got the impression the barman was trying to put too many interesting ingredients into each concoction but the taste did not reflect the awesomeness they were striving towards.
I tried the Aloha (edible flowers were cool but not cool enough for me to return here.) and I returned the second cocktail which was the whisky mint smash which tasted like toothpaste. Pity.
If you do end up there, get the cocktail with seaweed (nori) garnish. But don't let the seaweed mix with the cocktail, it will get too salty. My friend had this.
We were four people in total and that was the best cocktail amongst the 8 which we ordered.

Not worth the wait in a queue for 40 min. Cocktails are average and can be found in other bars for half of the price. The cocktails presentation was really nice though! But if you pay about 12 EUR for a cocktail you should expect at least good presentation!!

Overhyped is an underestimation. So much has been said about this bar in Lisbon I was actually excited to know it, but ... well it felt way shorter my expectations; maybe I just wasn't lucky, but my overpriced drink tasted like Listerine; well, you may say I should avoid mint And that's a good point, but actually not very fesable, since I had to use the light of my phone to read the many pages menu. Nice, a cozy romantic place, you may think; nope, me and my girlfriend were sat on talk benches in a high table for eight.

Very cozy bar with yummy cocktails. This speak easy bar reminds me of the Violet Hours and the Aviary in Chicago. They do have house rules and you can buy a copy of their menu for $2. Apparently people take the menu. It's a small book with cocktails recipe. You can easily miss this place during day time. You have to ring the door bell to entry. Fun place!

The only reason I am giving this establishment 1 star is because I can't give negative ratings.
The waitress was very rude and incredibly pretentious from the very start of our visit until we paid for our overpriced and underwhelming drinks.
The bar was empty beside oversleves and we were told quite abruptly not to play a game of cards which we were told was against the law (really ??)
If you want good service and value for your money do not go here. I would pay €25 euros NOT to go here again.

Pretentious syrupy hipster cocktails with medium shelf liquor and appropriate pricing. They burnt their dinner in the microwave, setting off the fire alarm and filling the place with plastic fumes so they opened the door and froze us out in December, the very thing we stopped in to avoid. O Red Frog é um bar que há muito tempo que já andava à procura em Lisboa. Um local sossegado, com pinta e excelentes cocktails.
Localizado mesmo junto à avenida da liberdade, este espaço passa completamente despercebido, sendo apenas visivel pelo enorme sapo à porta. Ao chegar toca-se à campainha para entrar (adoro o pormenor) e desce-se umas escadas para o bar.
O espaço não é muito grande mas é bastante acolhedor. A decoração é minimalista mas ajuda a criar um ambiente muito bom. Os tipos de lugares divergem de pequenas mesas para duas pessoas, a sofas e uma mesa grande corrida. Existem duas zonas, uma de fumadores e outra não fumadores.
Os cocktais estão todos listados numa ementa bastante completa e de fácil compreensão, onde se pode ver toda a informação do cocktail (ingredientes, tamanho, sabor, etc).
Pedimos dois cocktails, o Midnight Smugglers e o Frog Spirit, e ambos estavam excelentes! As combinações de sabores estava efectuada na perfeição e bastante equilibrada. O Midnght vinha com uma caixinha com fumo para o cheiro combinar com o cocktail e criar uma experiência diferente.
O serviço foi muito simpático e extremamente rápido. Ver os barmans a trabalhar parecia que estava a ver o filme do Tom Cruise, o Cocktail, porque estão sempre a dar espectaculo enquanto fazem as bebidas.
Se gostam de cocktails o Red Frog é o lugar a ir, não lhe consigo aportar muitos defeitos, só espero que a casa se mantenha assim por muito tempo!!

Local discreto. Só visita quem o sabe pois passa despercebido. Muito frequentado pelo Turismo que aparenta estar alojado nos hotéis da redondeza. Espaço cocktail, com luz ambiente, calmo e mesa para fumadores no meio da sala - algo que não é comum e torna-se interessante ao mesmo tempo. Variadíssimas ofertas de Cervejas artesanais ao mesmo tempo que nos oferecem uns snacks salgados/picantes a acompanhar. Preços acima da média pagam a qualidade do serviço e atendimento com requinte.

Was für eine Bar! Ab zurück in die Zeit der Prohibition! Man klingelt an einer unscheinbaren Tür, kurze Zeit später öffnet sich diese, du wirst gefragt wie viele Personen und wenn die Bedienung unten das OK gibt, darfst du rein. Alles sehr "schnieke" in der Bar aber keine Sorge, wir waren auch nicht schick angezogen und wurden sehr sehr nett bedient! Die Cocktails bewegen sich im Preisrahmen von 8 - 14€ was aber auch Saisonabhängig zu scheinen ist, da wir die Herbstkarte bekommen haben! Die Cocktails werden serviert in einer Goldenen Ananas oder in einer Popcorntüte gefüllt mit richtigen Popcorn damit man den Alkohol nicht sieht. Ein echt überragendes Konzept mit super Service und den Besten Cocktails die ich bis jetzt getrunken habe!

This place is a quintessential Speakeasy. There's a buzzer to allow you in, it's located in the basement level, it's dark, moody and serves nice cocktails by candlelight. There's only cocktails here from what I could see. The listed was extensive. The mixologists/chemists/ bartenders were impressive. Nice presentation with friendly service. Cheers!

Um bar recente numa zona nobre e central da cidade. Ainda assim o espaço é bastante pequeno e acolhedor. O ponto forte da casa são os cocktails elaborados e apresentados de forma bastante original. Os preços são um pouco elevados mas valem pela qualidade e pelo espaço diferente.

Eine absolut geniale Cocktailbar mit ganz spezieller Atmosphäre(man denkt, daß jeden Augenblick James Bond die Bar betreten könnte). Bevor man eintritt muß man eine Klingel betätigen, das sollte niemand abschrecken. Jeder Gast wird persönlich begrüßt und über die angebotenen Cocktails informiert. Die Preise für Cocktails liegen zwischen 9 und 12 Euro, sind aber jeden bezahlten Cent wert. In der Mitte der Bar liegt ein Raucherbereich mit gutem Abzug, Raucher werden hier also nicht isoliert. Also hingehen und einfach genießen.

Creative and delicious cocktails. Make sure you sit where you can see the bartenders make them. Try the Red Potion for something sweet that comes in a kitschy blue glasses with red frogs on the side, or the Midnight Smuggler for something unexpected.
