A lovely place to have dinner! It’s a very small restaurant with a great atmosphere. We had the steak and the octopus, both were very nice. The wine was great as well!

despite the reservation several days before the staff did not keep their word and gave the table to someone else, disappointing experience. seems the place is spoiled by too many good reviews and busy location and do not care about the actual guests that much anymore :(

Great place. I had a very tasteful codfish with chicken pea and it was delicious. It was not super cheap but you get good value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Отличное локальное место. Бар маленький, поэтому там собираются только отличные люди. Выбор вина огромен. Владелец гостеприимен и общителен. За баром можно узнать много интересного. А в конце попробовать 40-й порто и розовый! Вернусь обязательно!

Feb 2019 - We're not really sure if we went to the same place as the other reviews described. Although the service was good, food was far from great. Not tasteless but true lack of savour in every single plate. After 4 days in Lisbon, it was our most expensive yet less enjoyable food experience

What a great find! If you are looking for a local cuisine, fresh and simple food but with best ingredients - that’s the place. Oh, and you get a great selection of Portuguese wines! Everything presented and explained by careful staff, really a gem. We enjoyed our seafood and local wine and surely be back soon!

Local situado en la calzada del Duque, escondido entre otros con mayor tamaño, este dispone de un mayor encanto. Dispone de una gran variedad de vinos de la tierra a los que te aconsejarán sin dudar. La carta puede ser más corta que en otros lugares pero con buena calidad y un precio todavía mejor. Totalmente recomendable al dar un paseo desde el jardín de San Pedro Alcántara hacia Rossio. Dependiendo de la época puede ser necesario reservar por el poco espacio disponible.

Numa noite chuvosa, tarde, fomos muito bem recebidos no bar! Aliás todos os que chegaram foram bem recebidos!
Fora isso, comida deliciosa, pastel de bacalhau e bolo de chocolate maravilhosos! A experiência com os vinhos tb! Fomos seguindo as indicações do proprietário e todos eram muito bons!

A great find in Lisbon. Small but delightful. So good we went back for seconds. Andre was a great host and shared many great wines with us all the time perfecting his sense of our tastes. Thanks for 2 great evenings.

Andre was very helpful talking us through Portuguese wines and ports and explaining the difference between the types. We did a port tasting and an off menu wine tasting. Also enjoyed a sampling of cured meats and cheeses from Portugal. Great experience!

Beautiful wine bar owned and run by a Portuguese sommelier who has just completed his first year as a entrepreneur. While it has been a successful year the bar is awkward to find (Google maps does not help !!) - it's at the bottom of the steps and not well sign posted - but very much worth the effort. Great choice of wines and many tapas options at very reasonable prices. Will definitely go again on future visits to Lisbon and fully justifies it's Google rating

Lovely find on the steps up from Rossio on the way to BA. Excellent choice of wine and the owner is very helpful and clearly very knowledgeable. They do traditional Portuguese food and if you are lucky you may catch one of the excellent Fado nights. Definitely worth a visit.

It's a lovely little place with large selection of Portuguese wines. Food is good and petite. It can offer 14 seats and 4 additional at the bar. It's nice we were able to make a reservation an hour ahead.

Un piccolo locale caratteristico ed accogliente, cibo veramente ottimo e menù ricco di piatti tipici.
Il proprietario si è dimostrato gentile ,simpatico ed è riuscito a farci sentire a casa ( tra le altre cose parla abbastanza bene anche l'italiano). Sicuramente da provare la torta al cioccolato, qualcosa di speciale.
Se mi capiterà di tornare a Lisbona tornerò sicuramente.

Came here a few months back and just remembered how wonderful this little find was!! We had a great wine recommendation and amazing tapas. We stayed long enough that we even ordered a second round of tapas just for two of us. We got lucky to have a seat in the window right on the street, it is rather small and can get busy, so make sure to go early enough.

Kleine Weinbar mit sehr guter Auswahl an Weinen, Madeira und Port; sehr gute Küche und aufmerksamer Service. Weine werden sehr gut beraten und erklärt. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 8 Personen dort und feierten einen 50. Geburtstag, Essen wurde zeitgleich serviert und sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Eine süße Überraschung für das Geburtstagskind rundeten den Abend ab.

Accueillie très chaleureusement par le patron , qui d'ailleurs se débrouille assez bien en français , nous avons décidé de prendre la formule découverte de vins, accompagnés de tapas .
Le patron nous a présenter ses vins , en nous expliquant leurs cépages , leur assemblage , leur caractère ainsi que leur provenance , le tout en faisant grille un chorizo à la mode portugaise.
Avec ca nous avons accompagné un plateau de fromage affinés .
Une explosion de saveurs en tout point ! Absolument aucun reproche, un réel plaisir pour le palais !
Nous ne pouvons que recommandé ce merveilleux endroit , toute fois il est vraiment préférable de réserver , il n'y a que très peu de table !

Very friendly staff in this compact bar serving a limited food menu with a good selection of Portuguese wines. The happily brought over bottles for us to try before buying glasses and have a real enthusiasm about what they're doing. Well worth a visit. Tasting flights available.

Auf dem Weg zum Hotel sind wir hier hängengeblieben. Zum Glück. Kleines, schnuckliges Weinlokal. Es gibt die typischen guten portugiesischen Weine und Fingerfood. Wir haben die Portweinprobe genommen und hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt.

구글에 검색해서 후기가 좋아서 우연히 간 곳이에요 근데 생각보다 너무 위에 있어서 올라가는데 꽤 힘들었어요 이름에 맞게 굉장히 작은 곳이어서 사람이 많으면 못들어 갈 수도 있어요! 저는 일행이 많았는데도 어떻게 자리를 마련해주셔서 들어갈 수 있었어요
사장님이 너무 친절하시고 설명도 잘해주시고 테스팅도 할 수 있게 해주셔서 좋았어요
그리고 2.7유로 정도인 진저를 추가적으로 주문했는데
시럽먹는것 같이 달콤하고 맛있었어요!
와인바를 찾고 있다면 여기와도 좋을 것 같아요 추천해요~~

André vous accueil dans son petit bar à vin très convivial(composé seulement de 4 tables)
Il explique directement la carte en français, des plats uniquement maison (je vous conseil le chorizo grillé)
Très bon vin proposé dont un en version limité.
Une note à 70€ à 3 avec 2 bouteilles de rouges, et 5 entrée.
À ne pas louper !!

A truly wonderful bar. We stopped by for wine and cheese. They do wine flights for reds, whites, and dessert wines, so we took the sweet wine option and had a Madeiran, Port, and Moscato with three cheeses. The atmosphere is intimate and personal, with there being only a handful of tables and room at the bar. We tried to reserve a table for dinner the following evening as the other customers’ food looked brilliant, but unfortunately they are closed on Tuesdays.

Just FANTASTIC! So small and so welcoming. Only 7 tables but always full. I think this is our favorite place in Lisbon. Service was very friendly and super professional, you feel like you came to visit family! More importantly: food is just fresh and well presented. Big wine selection available and all at fair prices. We left dancing... thank you.

A true hole in the wall! But...this is a delightful and unpretentious cafe with five tables and a couple of seats at a bar. We had little knowledge about Portugese wines but after being asked what we liked and given a couple of tasting glasses, we each enjoyed exactly what we wanted. There are seemingly unlimited wines and while the tapas list is small, each one was very tasty and enough. Service was great and it was under EU70 for four glasses of wine, one port and one muscatel, and five tapas. The only thing, it's up a long flight of stairs above a train station but remember, once you leave, it's a walk down. Enjoy.

We sat down for a drink at the bar. They were cooking sausages on the very same bar where oil was splashing on to us (they do have a kitchen though where sausage cooking seems way more appropriate). We asked the waiter it there were any other place to have a drink and not get burned by boiling oil. He couldn’t care less so we left. Don’t recommend the place...

Eine nette kleine Bar ruhig gelegen mitten in der Stadt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionen etwas klein.
Der Inhaber war sehr freundlich und hat gut beraten welchen Wein man probieren sollte.
Das Portwein Tasting hat sich gelohnt.
Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis ist relativ ok und die Bar ist einen Besuch wert, ob ich noch ein zweites Mal hingehen würde weiß ich nicht.

Very beautiful place and great service. The food is amazing and the wine suggestions are very good.
Try the mixed platter for start and for sure a port wine recommendation with the desert.

A very small restaurant, with a wide array of food offerings, an expansive wine list, and an extremely friendly and attentive owner.
The wine that the owner recommended was delicious and all from Portugal. The food while not spectacular, was good. The grilled octopus still had a thin membrane attached to it that is typically removed. This imparted an unpleasant flavour to the dish. The flaming chorizo, and the sardine appetizer, however, were incredible and beautifully presented.
I would definitely return if not only to chat with the owner more and have him recommend some more wines!

A very nice and small cozy place in Lisbon. The owner is clearly knowledgeable of Portugese wines and extremely helpful in making choices. The small snacks, like cheese and charcuterie place are worth it. Very intimate and worth a revisit.
Definitely a place you shouldn't dodge if you're spending time in Lisbon!

The food was great and the wine as well but very expensive compared to what you get. We tried both wine tasting menus and the port tasting menu and it is not worth the price. The glasses in the wine tasting menus were not even half full (Maximum ¼) and the port served were obviously overdue. Best intention from the owner but not well executed.
Main course were simple and good quality and the atmosphere was cozy but the dessert were very bad and wine menus not worth.

A small place with huge selection of wine. The owner is very friendly. He helped us select a very good wine, and very good port wine. We had sardines and cod fish croquettes. Both were very good.

This place is a real find. A small little place which is worth scaling the steps leading to it. The owner certainly knows his wines and there is a huge range considering the small size of the place. I would recommend a tasting where you get a range of wines. Great tapas style food available too, all great value. Staff brilliant.

Really pretty perfect wine bar, highly recommended! Lovely staff have great advice on the lengthy wine list, which contains really interesting and good value Portuguese wines, and some very tasty tapas accompaniments. It’s small - we went early so this was no problem, but it might get crowded later. But wine-lovers will not be disappointed.

Outstanding small restaurant ,five minutes walk from the Rossio. Andre is a very passionate owner who adores the local Portuguese wines and exudes enthusiasm from the release of the Cork. Small but superb choice of dishes. Definitely recommend over the many pretentious bars. The personal touch and the liason with the customer is truly instrumental in a fine dining experience.

Top nice wine bar at Calcada do Duque
We have been to Lisbon several times and were recommended The Little Wine Bar by our Portuguese friends. We got a really great experience! It's a super cozy place with lots of charm and authenticity.
The place offers a very nice selection of exciting wines - and also some of the best port wines we have tasted. In addition, their delicious tapas and snacks are perfect for the fine wines.
The very friendly and charming owner of the place understands making the guests feel very comfortable. He is highly skilled and very engaged - and he can tell you long and elaborate about each wine or cheese - and he is an expert in Port Vin.
The price range is very reasonable for the high quality - and you can also buy wine and port wine on site.

Love this little wine bar on the steps. The owner is very friendly & knowledgeable about his large selection of Portuguese wines. The tapas are delicious and the prices are reasonable. I really enjoyed my evening here. It’s only been open a few months which is why it’s not on any ‘lists’. But I highly recommend! Oh and they have fado a few nights a week. So definitely check it out.

A small wine bar on the steps going down to the city. We stopped by the bar in order to find some good local wines and we did. Very good selection of local wines and good food even though the selection is limited. Fresh ingredients are used and you can taste it in your food. They serve fish of the season. There is fado on the weekends and the singer was very good.

Seit einem Monat hat dieser kleine Wein-Bar eröffnet. Hier kann man eine exzellente Auswahl an Weinen aus ganz Portugal genießen. Diese sind preislich ebenfalls absolut in Ordnung. Man wird bedient und am Abend kann man Live Fado-Musik genießen. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Tak for en dejlig eftermiddag sø 17.9. med skøn fadosang og -musik. Også herligt at møde en dansker, der tog sig tid til en hyggelig snak. Mange hilsener fra Eva og Per fra Herning.
