Original place and nice service but too expensive for what you get and there was a birthday when we went for dinner with people screaming all night and I don't believe this is ok to have to cope with this when you pay that much.

Nice view, great setting and the host downstairs is fantastic, but other than that it was t-e-r-r-i-b-le. And I mean: TERRIBLE. From sitting down and ordering till the first dish appeared: one hour. And then it just started. The bread was stale - like the kinda one you find in your cupboard and eat because there’s nothing else in the house. The butter was colder than the feelings you have towards your ex. The waiter tried his best but had a constant deer-in-headlights expression on his face.
Have you ever had good pork belly? The one that melts on your tongue and is crispy on the outside? Well, you’re not going to get that at The Insólito. No view or setting can make up for this confused dish: it was dried out and too oily at the same time. It was so chewy that my jaws hurt.
We notified the server whose face grew even more worried and he took the dish away. I changed it for the seared tuna, which came suspiciously fast. After one bite it turned out why: it was colder than the earlier mentioned butter. After this we downed our wines and decided to leave. The dried pork belly was taken from the bill, but other than that we paid everything.
It’s sad that the kitchen doesn’t seem to care at all. The prices are in a range that you’d expect top notch service and food, especially considering the average prices in Lisbon. The staff and the host lady apologised profusely, but all in all it was an extremely disappointing experience which I would avoid at all costs.

Amazing view and amazing food ! Such a great place
Nous avons pris le turbot et le porc en plat et le tartare de thon en entrée un vrai régal. Les goûts sont très fins et le dressage est magnifique.
Les serveurs sont très sympas

Die Mischung aus Restuarant und Bar ist nicht gelungen. Es wurden überall Zigaretten geraucht, so dass man nicht essen konnte. Da die Tische nicht komplett besetzt waren wurden die Fenster geöffnet und es war für die Gäste des Restaurants viel zu kalt. Die Musik von der Straße dröhnte gegen die zu laute Musik aus der Anlage.
Das Restuarant ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

Our experience at Insolito was somewhat mixed, but that largely due to our expectations. We found the restaurant via the discount coupon from our hotel, but the prices turned out to be rather high, so cancelling out that effect to some degree. In all, we're not sure it was worth the money, although - hard to say for sure.
We sought a window table, but arriving late in the evening, the view was not that much. Probably much better in daylight. On a February night, it was a bit cold due to the wind.
The food was OK, but we went with kids of about 10, and probably should have sought out a pizzeria or some more kid-friendly menu.
The atmosphere was interesting, the service good. This is probably a nice place for grown-ups on sunny days, although a bit expensive. For our family it was ... educating.

Toll! Der Name ist Programm, unkonventionelles Ambiente, frische phantasievolle Küche. Kreatives Menü mit stimmigen Weinen und tollen Cocktailkreationen, sehr aufmerksames Personal, dazu eine super Aussicht über die Altstadt. Gerne nochmal!

Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely food! Stayed at the Independente Suites (next door) and had breakfast here every morning, as was part of our hotel package, and also went here for dinner on our first night in Lisbon.
Inside is quirky but not too in-your-face. There's a wonderful and warm atmosphere including greenery, a variety of good music and blissful views of the city.
Unfortunately I did not photograph my dinner or the starter.
For the starter we had to cheese and meat board - could not complain. It wasn't "wow" but it also wasn't "meh". However, we especially loved the red/orange, I think pumpkin, sauce that came with it!
For dinner I had the cheeks which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing - although the dish could have done with a crunch aspect as it was overall quite soft.
My partner had the T-Bone (that was too good to wait for me to take a picture). He went for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly, not at all chewy (apart from a minute bit of fat), and seasoned well. The steak came with a side of chips which tasted lovely but had an odd texture that we could not quite describe; nonetheless we still ate them all.
I would go back to The Insólito.
Food: 9/10
Atmosphere: 8/10
Value for money: 9/10
Price for two: be prepared to spend €60-100 (including drinks)

3 etoiles car pour moi gros gachis coté agencement! Ce bar est censé avoir un atout majeur puisqu'il s'agit d'une sorte de rooftop avec une vue magnifique sur la vieille ville....
MAIS au lieu d'avoir agence leur bar de façon à profiter de cette vue merveilleuse ils ont simplement mis de petits tabourets très inconfortables où on est collé au mur et à la toile cirée transparente où l'on ne voit rien d'ailleurs de la vue quand il fait du vent ou qu'il pleut ou quil fait froid..... gros gachis. Coktails hors de prix plus de 10 euros.... service lent pas tres sympa. Dommage.

Lady at the front desk downstairs on Saturday 20th October was rude. We had a booking but she seemed to delight in telling people that had come without a booking to go away. True colours.

Exquisite!
I had the lobster ravioli to start- absolutely delicious, with a light foam on top.
For my main meal I chose the scallop mie goreng- lovely again, the scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection.
For dessert I had a traditional Portuguese dish- it consisted of small sponge triangles on a goats cheese sauce with cinnamon ice cream- not a combination of flavours I have ever tried before, but it all worked perfectly.
This place is definitely worth a visit, and I would recommend booking in advance as it looks like it gets rather full- with good reason!

O Espaço é giro? É sim senhor. A vista? A Música? Tudo impecável. Mas nenhuma destas características enche a barriga. Cobrarem 24€ por uma mini-dose de bife do lombo, que nem direito a batatas fritas tem é um ROUBO. É lamentável que estes restaurantes procurem o lucro fácil e rápido, com o argumento de que "também se paga o espaço". Inadmissível é o mínimo que posso dizer. Estamos a falar de cerca de 200gr (+- um hamburguer do h3) - esta história da nouvelle cousine gourmet é um engodo. Senti-me muito enganado (e não, o meu prato não foi o unico. estavam mais 2 iguais na mesa). Um tristeza que um restaurante no centro de Lísboa tenha este tipo de atitudes. A Ganância faz destas coisas!!! Não voltarei, certamente!!!

Een heel erg mooi dakterras met uitzicht over Lissabon. Wel een beetje lawaaierig maar afgeschermd en dus heb je geen last van de wind. Als voorgerecht namen we een broodje met hele lekkere huisgemaakte boter, en ravioli van kreeft. Dit was ook erg lekker, en de mousse was aparte maar leuke toevoeging. Voor de hoofdgerechten hadden we de oxtail en de kalfswang. De smaken waren erg lekker, maar ik vond de textuur van de kalfswang wel een uitdaging. Het was een beetje slijmerig en daar moest ik me wel overheen zetten. Maar dat terzijde waren het twee hele speciale goed smakende gerechten. Voor dessert hadden we de cheesecake, deze komt met basilicumijs, wat echt onwijs lekker is, en het typische Portugese dessert. Waarvan we verwachtte dat het iets zoets zou zijn, maar het bleek juist een soort taartje dat naar kaas smaakte te zijn. Wel erg lekker. Ik zou deze plek zeker aanraden. Niet onwijs hoge prijzen voor zulk apart en goed eten.

This restaurant has so many great things going for it. 1) The overall ambiance is great. Indoors, you have fun and eclectic decorations inspired by the name of the restaurant, Insolito (surrealism). 2) The food was delicious! I had the scallops with ramen. I wish it had a bit more seasoning but overall it was light, fresh and the scallops were perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had the steak, and he was not disappointed in the least bit. 3) The cocktails with the view were a perfect match. 4) The staff was super friendly and provided us with great service.

La location sicuramente alza il prezzo ma 50 euro per un piatto di pesce molto scarso come quantità e sufficiente come qualità con l'aggiunta di un bicchiere di vino mi sembra uno sproposito. Muito simpáticos... Uma vista linda que combinou com o dia dos namorados para criar aquele clima de relacionamento pois as luzes de Lisboa viam se todas... Os cocktail's estavam bons e foram acompanhados com umas entradas de queijos e enchidos que estavam 5 estrelas claro que comemos essas entradas e bebemos esses cocktail's na ponta da esplanada para vermos a tal vista magnífica a esplanada estava bonita com velas e um clima calmo metade da esplanada estava coberta por causa do frio mas com ajuda dos aquecedores estava uma temperatura muito boa para uma noite fria o comer estava muito bom o meu foi leitãozinho estava muito bom e da minha namorada foi vitela que estava bom o acompanhamento e que não foi bem o que a minha namorada pensou ... O vinho foi caro pois era só a copo mas era um bom vinho branco que escorregou muito bem. A sobremesa era uma bola de gelado com uma fragrância de amêndoas e pistáchio que estava muito boa ah já me ia esquecendo na estrada a senhora do hotel teve a paciência de explicar e mostrar um dos elevadores mais antigos de Lisboa serviço de 5 estrelas. Claro que é um sítio para voltar.

Interesting rooftop, nicely situated in lovely Lisbon. The space is very well decorated and deserves several pictures for posterity. I went there for a group lunch of nearly 50 people. Good and polite service. The wine is very good and the courses are nice but a bit inconsistent in flavour; the same course can vary in taste from person to person. Vegetarian options are bland and too simple for the market it tries to reach. Amount of food was not satisfying... Ended lunch and went for a snack elsewhere.

Very underwhelmed. Wind tarps are poorly constructed, loud, and obscure the fantastic view. Food was flavorless although nicely presented. Drinks were markedly more expensive than other locations in the city. Perhaps the only restaurant in Lisboa where servers are overwhelming and push for tips. Recommendation: only go for beverage on the terrace if at all.

This place has really cool cuisine with modern twists on typical dishes and great cocktails. The servers are very helpful and patient, the decor is great and the view is excellent. It is slightly more expensive than other places in Lisbon but it's definitely worth checking out.

Not a good setup if it is windy, the structure is not wind tight, the blanket they provided is not enough, also way too noisy that kills the vibe. With this wind structure you can barely see the view.. The service was not good at all, they didnt remove the wine glasses when we order cocktails instead, didnt clean all the plates when finished, forgot the cocktails, didnt find a solution when we wanted to move from the table due to the wind, we were the ones proposing another table next to the door where had one the few heaters... The food was good and the cocktails amazing. The place is cool and has lots of potential with the view but please prepare yourselves when will a bit windy...

A romantic rooftop bar / restaurant with magnificent panoramic views towards the river. The staff are very chilled and friendly and the service is excellent . Being veggie , we had the cheese starter which was good followed by the ramen which was a bit dull finishing off with wee chocolate ice balls which were scrummy . There is a excellent wine list and the cocktails were fine also. I would recommend this gaff , a real gem and reasonably priced .

Definitely need to rsvp especially on weekends. This Restaurant was one of the highlights of our Lisbon trip. Not just the well thought dishes but the quality of ingredients and also the harmony. As a starter we ordered the Roastbeef (was really satisfying and balanced with mayo and greens), the tuna tartar (which in my opinion was trying a bit too hard) and the cheese&sausage platter for 2 which was served with a freshly made Portuguese bread (amazing!). And as a main course we ordered the lamb shank and the turbot, both were really delicious, very well cooked and exceeded our expectations. I wouldn’t give full points to service although I had the feeling the waiter tried his best and was friendly but definitely not bad service.
If you are looking for a place to dine in Lisbon and willing to pay a bit more than usual, you should check this place out.

Nice view from up there, many drinks on the menu with some twists on classics. Pricey (11€ for Cosmopolitan or Moscow Mule) but I guess you pay for the view!

É um restaurante-bar com uma ótima vista sobre Lisboa e o Rio Tejo. Preços ligeiramente acima da média mas vale a pena. O serviço costuma ser bom. O estacionamento nem sempre é fácil mas há parques de estacionamento nas imediações.

Les serveurs sont aux petits soins et les plats insolites et très bons (ceviche servi accompagné de pop corn, cheese cake tomate basilic, morue avec du houmous...)
Les cocktails sont également excellents.
Pour monter, prenez cet ascenseur atypique qui vaut le detour et n'oubliez pas de réserver

“The Insolito”, was an Insolita (Italian: unusual) discover. We found it on internet, and the only thing to say is: an evening to remember, amazing rooftop, a fancy breeze accompanied us throughout the dinner. The waiter who took care of us: Antonio, was literally fantastic; kind, very attentive to our needs and very, very nice. Delicious food and wine, our waiter suggested a Portuguese one: Quinta das camélias, Dão reserva 2015. Really good value-for-money.
Hoping to come back to Lisbon soon and meet again all the fantastic staff that has given us so much care.

Acho maravilhoso este sitio. Já deixou de ser um segredo bem guardado, o que é uma pena. Então quando chegamos temos sempre uma menina muito simpatica para nos receber. Depois, sobe-se por um elevador 'vintage' minusculo - claustrofobicos vão de escadas que vale apena chegar lá acima. E quando chegamos ao restaurante é maravilhoso desde a decoração, a vista sobre Lisboa. Aconcelho o por-do-sol que Lisboa fica com cores muito bonitas. Agora tenho de confessar que vou la sempre pela vista tomar um copo final de tarde. Tenho que lá voltar para experimentar a cozinha

Definitely recommend this place! The place sits atop a hotel with a very interesting vibe. From the ultra vintage elevator to the chandeliers in the bar area. The cocktail menu is impressive and both the cocktails we each had were exceptional (and I’m a cocktail snob!) Would love to go back.

Cocktails were pretty expensible and had a good presentation but tasted rather boring.

We sat at the big table in the middle of the room, it is an awesome place I recommend everyone to go there, but I would also like to point out what I did not like: the big table makes it hard to reach the food in the middle I had to stand up often, the chair pillow was sliding down my back all the time I had to realign it, but I would go back here with my girlfriend, seems to be the perfect place for romance

We waited in line for The Insolito but it was worth it. The climb to the top was in an archaic elevator with lovely wallpaper and a wooden door. The restaurant is situated on a rooftop overlooking Lisbon. The waiters are friendly and the service is great. The ambiance is relaxed and one feels comfortable. The food was flavorful; the sauces were delicious. For desserts, we ordered three, two of which came with the pairing of alcoholic drinks which was interesting. Also, one with a coconut flavored theme came with a “singing coconut”; a hollow coconut was filled with a speaker (don’t worry when you’ve had your laugh and you’re done being amused by the music accompanying your dessert, you can turn it off). I really enjoyed the whole dinner and would go again if I happen to go to Lisbon.

Amazing view and some nice cocktails (though I always go with the green wine)! Usually I don't eat there as it is a bit overpriced. I go for drinks than I go to The Decadente. The round table is great if you are around 10 friends. It feels a little bit like home, though full of strangers. Give it a shot, you will not be disapointed.

Wie folgten einer Empfehlung unseres Reiseführers und wurden nicht enttäuscht: tolle Aussicht (besser vorher reservieren!), nette Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen: wir hatten den Fisch des Tages (köstliche Dorade). Der alte Aufzug ist sehr sehenswert.

Locale al 3 piano di un palazzo antico. Molto particolare come location. Menu con cucina tipica portoghese e prezzi nella media del bairro alto. Vista spettacolare sulla città. Quasi obbligatoria la prenotazione. Consiglio

Ce lieu privilégié (sans être snob) permet de fuir la masse grouillante et grossière des touristes qui envahissent Lisbonne. Plaise au Ciel de lui conserver cette discrétion si particulière et rare à Lisbonne aujourd'hui.
Les cocktails sont très bons, le service n'est pas très pro mais cela participe de l'ambiance légère du lieu (une branchitude un peu démodée).
Le resto n'est pas le meilleur du coin, la nourriture est très bonne mais passablement chère pour Lisbonne. Si le prix permet de filtrer l'entrée, je l'accepte sans rechigner.
The Insolito est une bulle agréable à la promiscuité rafraîchissante.

Très belle vue, jolie déco. Nous avons seulement pris des cocktails qui étaient corrects, sans plus ; les plats qui circulaient avaient l'air très appétissants.
Attention rooftop venteux, prévoyez une petite laine et tenez fermement vos verres !

Bel ristorante situato all'ultimo piano di un vecchio palazzo di Lisbona, l'arredamento è ricercato e raffinato, il servizio cortese. Il locale è molto gettonato quindi è necessario prenotare. Il cibo è ottimo, porzioni non abbondanti. Il conto è caro ma è adeguato alla fascia in cui si colloca il ristorante.

The views from the balcony are impressive. The restaurant itself less so. They were initially reluctant to let us sit outside with a view despite dozens of empty tables (at no point did they fill up before we left) The food is not bad, but when we went the staff seemed to be barely holding it together. We ordered aperetifs, which then came with the food 20-30 minutes later. The cod I had was raw inside so I had to leave about a quarter of it, and the apple and pear tart desert was mediocre at best. Nevertheless, we had a good time, the views and ambience made up for the food.

The view is great but you have to be by the window to see anything and it's (usually, I guess) too windy for that. The mood is cool. Prices are normal for this kind of place. I had never tried a Moscow mule. It was served in a copper mug as it should be, and I loved it but I'm no expert. I couldn't taste the vodka or any other kind of alcohol in it but my friend could; no idea if it's supposed to have low alcoholic content.

Found at the top of an 1800s building, this bar and restaurant offers one of the most beautiful views of Lisbon.
Take the old elevator to the top to be transported into this original place mixing a restaurant and a cocktail bar.
O Insolito is true to its name with its dining area full of unusual objects and laidback rooftop where you can enjoy some of the best finger food and cocktails in town.

They take themselfes very seriously. Staff is running around like headless chicken. We had to wait 2 hours for our food. Not happy with the service at all. Compliment to the kitchen though!

Amazing food! Especially the steamed octopus. I don't know what they put in that sauce but I've never tasted anything like it. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because it took the food 1.5 hours to arrive. They apologized and credited most of the meal. It's a shame, the food really is great.

Oh, Insólito, where have you been all my life. With you panoramic views and cool cocktails, you are the prefect venue for any Lisbon sunset.
Obviously, Insólito's rooftop lounge is the best spot in Lisbon for all those who love cocktails and conversation. The knowledgable staff will guide you to the most intriguing ports and wines imaginable (Thanks, Andrea).
However, no drink at Insólito would be complete without a yummy nibble which they serve up here all too well. I really enjoy the chicken liver pate; served in a shot glass with a tasty layer of jam, this taste treat was just perfect.
Insólito has a speakeasy feel, which certainly adds to its charm. Traveling up on its historic elevator soon opens up a magical rooftop experience not to be missed.

Fomos apenas para experimentar a vista e desfrutar de uma sobremesa acompanhada de cocktails.na receção a empregada que nos atendeu 5 estrelas,assim como a senhora que nos recebeu.o pior foi mesmo quando testámos a sobremesa e os cocktails.sentámos numa mesa que reparámos mais tarde estar parcialmente suja,e pedimos ao empregado para nos vir limpar,do qual a sua resposta foi:" nós as limpamos antes de se sentarem".alem de nao a ter vindo limpar os dois gin fizz pareciam que o barman o estava a fazer pela primeira vez.sobremesa nada de.especial.uma experiencia a nao repetir,só tenho pena do mau atendimento dos empregados de mesa pois a vista e o ambiente são otimos...

All'ultimo piano di uno splendido palazzo di Lisbona si trova un angolo di città con una vista mozzafiato accompagnata da ottimo vino , mobili vintage , collezioni di lampadari in cristallo , personale preparato e disponibile ! Da provare il maialino e le costolette di agnello . Splendidi dolci . Bravi !!

Rooftop con una bellissima vista su Lisbona: io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo passato una piacevole serata sorseggiando un buonissimo Moscow mule! Personale gentile, cocktail molto buono, prezzi un po' sopra la media per Lisbona ma ne vale la pena!
