Tanto la comida como la experiencia hace 4 años fue muy buena. Queríamos volver este año pero siguen sin aceptar tarjetas de crédito internacionales (ni visa ni Amex). Es necesario pagar en Cash!! En un mundo cada vez más digital donde puedo pagar con mi móvil desde el taxi hasta un café, me parece que la política de pagar en cash no es acertada para un restaurante de ese nivel y con gran clientela extranjera por estar localizado en zona turística.

Outstanding restaurant that is worth every effort to get here! Our dinner would have been a lot more worthy of a Michelin star than many dinners we had in actual Michelin starred restaurants. Most importantly, outstanding taste - everything balanced, interesting yet most pleasing, superbly executed, just perfect. The presentation likewise was beautiful end just perfect. Everything was special without being unnecessarily unusual or just different for the sake of being different. The wine pairing was equally superb - very special wines and thoughtful choices. And the service matched the food - our waiter showed her pride in the food with her excellent explanations and was impeccably attentive without any unnecessary mannerisms. And finally - all this at an incredibly attractive price. On am absolute level, the meal was already more than 5 stars - value for money is above the chart. This explains the out-of-your-way location and why the restaurant only accepts cash and local debit cards (international credit cards are just too expensive). The place is worth every effort to get here! My suggestion: splurge on the 5-course tasting menu (available in the evenings plus lunch during weekends) and the superior wine pairing! :)

La pire expérience tout simplement. Adepte avec mon épouse de la bonne chaire, nous avons côtoyé les meilleurs restaurants qui soient (gastronomiques ou non) et à travers le monde depuis plusieurs années. C'est la première fois que nous avons été floués par un resto soi-disant gastronomique qui nous a servis de la viande avariée et nous a valu une belle intoxication alimentaire à tous les deux (ma femme enceinte de surcroît, ce qu'ils n'ignoraient pas). Le pire, leur mauvaise foi incroyable par la suite qui nous fait dire que plutôt que de prendre leurs responsabilités, ils pourraient recommencer sans vergogne, préférant le déni. Heureusement l'hôtel où nous avons logé (Miragen Cascais) nous ont soutenus et permis de nous soigner comme il faut durant nos vacances. Zéro étoile si je pouvais!!!

What was supposed to be a nice date night turned out to be a nightmare. First my husband booked a table letting them know that I was pregnant, so they had a different gastronomic menu to adjust to this fact. The restaurant is in a very strange area, but in all honesty, the food was rather good and well presented. My husband and I ate the exact same menu and from what we could tell the 2 other couples who were there had at least some differences in theirs. The nightmare started the following night at our hotel. My husband woke me up as he ran to the bathroom violently vomitting. I started to worry because I was 4 months pregnant, but I NEVER had in my entire life stomach flu or food poisoning, have never vomitted. Although I have been travelling to Asian, South American and African countries, even so...one hour later, there you go, I had to run as well it was VERY violent. We both came to the conclusion (sorry for the details) that by the look of this, it was either their duck terrine or their oxtail. Both meals that were served only to us (at least to the best of our knowledge). The following day, the hotel was very worried, a doctor came to check up on me. We were not prepared to have this kind of reaction coming from a 'gastronomic' restaurant. We were thinking this is really bad, but we can accept some apology and move on and probably some nice customer-oriented gesture. They first sarted to question our stories, always in denial. Then they even pretended to having called all other customers who said they were fine, so conclusion it was not them who poisoned us. Although 1) we ate the same thing just this time 2) recognized their food getting out of our bodies 3) were sick at the same time, and 4) we were on holidays and lost one full day staying in bed and why on earth would we waste our time with this??? They pretended to send the customers' emails to confirm they were not sick or sth as absurd as that. Of course, it didn't make sense and we did not hear about these people anymore. Then, they asked about the doctor and hotel 's names. We provided it and had to actually lecture them about doctor/patient privilege, but knock yourself out if you wanna call the doctor. Of course we did not hear about the doctor's call because allegedly they did not have the doctor's first name. We even offered to share other emails we've sent during the night to our doctor in France as we were very concerned. It is bad enough what happened to us, but the reaction just made it worse. Then they started to pretend that they followed all the rules of the food hygiene and safety, although 4 days later they again lied saying they would send the samples to the lab! OMG! Hilarious. They kept the food all this time!? I also had to explain to them that just because a food does not smell bad, it still can be bad depending on the bacteria and of course we did not hear back from 'the lab'. After a few days still in denial, they again pretended to send the case to their insurance, I mean we are talking here about a doctor's bill that cost 80 eur, and maybe some empathy and responsibility instead of insulting us. We would have been happy with just that. Back home we had to call many time in Portugal to get our doctor's report. Of course we never heard back again for weeks. And after sending them another email asking for an update they received miraculously a response from the insurance rejecting the reimbursement of the doctor's bill (again 80 euros that they did not offer to cover themselves). That is just poor customer management. Above all, we have never seen anything about a case being made to the insurance nor an official reply. The only thing we know is what they told us. We had proof of everything we said while they just tried to gain some time and never proved their real efforts in this matter. We got sick, our holidays was ruined, we were mistreated and lied to as well. They would just not hear us and kept questioning our integrity. We made official complaints and decided for once to leave a review because it was just too much!

Dès l’accueil, on se sent les bienvenus. Décor simple, mais pas tape-à-l’œil et qui ajoute à notre confort. Quartier plutôt résidentiel, alors l’emplacement de ce restaurant surprend. Choix de 3 menus: on a pris le "Débutant" qui consistait d’une entrée, d’un plat principal (poisson ou viande) et d’un dessert. Cuisine très raffinée, belle présentation, mais pas donné: avec 1 bouteille de vin, la facture s’élevait à plus de 130€ pour 4. Mais très satisfaits

Pareceu-me um sítio um bocado pretensioso, pretende atingir um determinado patamar, mas está longe de lá chegar. O preço é excessivamente caro para a qualidade da comida. Os turistas parecem apreciar.

Provámos o mais elaborado e evidentemente o mais caro, dos "Menus de Degustação" disponíveis no restaurante, composto por duas entradas, um prato de peixe e um prato de carne e ainda uma sobremesa. A comida é elaborada com o rigor da cozinha de autor utilizando produtos de muito boa qualidade, confecionados e apresentados "no ponto", ainda assim, sem apresentar no prato grande exuberância nem sabores definitivamente surpreendentes. A carta de vinhos não é muito extensa, mas inclui a variedade suficiente para um abrangente leque de escolha, a preços bastante justos. É um restaurante competente, para uma refeição agradável com comida saborosa. Um sítio a repetir.

what a fantastic hidden gem! the food is top quality and really good value for money! we had the tasting menu and it looked and tasted amazing! most importantly, the service is fantastic, the staff is so friendly and polite, not too intrusive, just perfect!
